✓ Needs a deck building feature.I understand card search is in beta, but I highly recommend creating a feature that lets players search and save cards into decks. That’s actually why I installed it, and Im disappointed to find that this feature is lacking..Version: 1.3.6

✓ Needs work1. Need a way to delete tournaments from the list. 2. Need a way to un-register from events. 3. 2HG just needs work. Ran into an issue where the client both recognized a team as a team, and said they weren’t on a team. The team could not be dissolved, as there is no option to do so, and the client could not dissolve a team. It just kept telling the players to dissolve the team and re-register, which was impossible..Version: 1.3.14
✓ Bugs!Every time I tabbed out of the tournament as a host, the round timer reset! It was a huge conundrum last night because the timer reset twice during a control mirror! Also results came back buggy. Kept saying we had draws in the bracket for 2-0 / 2-1 games. Personally think it was the player submitted games that gave me issues..Version: 1.1.9

✓ Great in person experience bad in appApp works great for local tournaments for reporting keeping life and checking standings. Unfortunately you can’t go back to check standings once TO closed tournament which is minor but would be nice. Major problem is double face cards just are not in database. Even if you want to see front side it sometimes has issues but the back sides just don’t work at all. Very disappointing considering they have know about this since at least last year..Version: 1.4.0

✓ Gatherer doesn’t work wellRegularly when trying to use the Gatherer card search function, the “enter” button in the bottom right corner will do nothing when you click on it after putting in search parameters, so it doesn’t actually work at all as a searchable database with any level of specificity reliably..Version: 1.6.4
✓ Good until you need it.Since tournaments have started back it seems like it can’t handle the load? Constantly crashes and forces the TO to print and pair manually for the last 3 weeks in tournaments with less than 12 people. I just reinstalled it and if it works next week maybe I’ll adjust my rating. Other features are good but you’re mainly interested in using it to sign up and get paired up, which is what it’s currently failing at..Version: 1.3.0

✓ Card Viewer needs work.The card viewer is flat out disappointing. There are several cards whose view is replaced by an art card that isn’t even of that card for example. It also lacks the thorough searching that the Gatherer has. Honestly I’d be perfectly fine with just ignoring the app and just using it for my LGS. The reason I’m bothering with the negative review however is that every single time I open up the gatherer on mobile, it has a pop up of sorts attempting to say “Gatherer works better in the companion app!” Aside from that being false, the issue is that if you happen to scroll before the pop up arrives, it freezes your screen and the ability to pull up your tabs or search bar, forcing you to leave and reenter the website just to reload the page. Seriously, until companion is actually better than the real Gatherer, don’t shove it in our faces..Version: 1.4.6

✓ JankyMost annoying feature in this is when I’m trying to look up cards click on a card and then try to back out to look at the next card it brings me to the very beginning of the search wow like I want to scroll through 100 cards again and it loads way too slow faster just to use a web browser without having to scroll through all the cards over and over and over again just so you can back out and look at the next card, Would be so much better too if it had a functional rulebook for the game where we can search for rules and keywords.Version: 1.3.5

✓ Only used because events force you to do so4 years since release and still missing some of the most basic functionality. You use a code to enter events, but can’t see that code on the event to share with others. No historical event data - one of the best features of the previous dci system. Regularly logs you out and doesn’t retain username or password, or seem to have ability to retrieve from devices password store. Score submission screen frequently misbehaves and returns scores to 0-0 after entering and before you submit them. It has a monopoly for sanctioned events so is unlikely to improve given the devs have no motivation to do so. Absolute binfire, the sooner wotc realise this and replace this pos with a useful app or actually connect up your dci and arena account the better..Version: 1.4.0

✓ AwfulAs someone who’s going to competitive level events most weeks. Using this app is a nightmare. My round timer is always at 50 minutes. Logs people out, doesn’t show parings etc. Bring back DCI numbers and paper parings..Version: 1.5.1
✓ Companion is terribleThe search engine for the card database is not user friendly. It is so case specific that if you miss on parameter that it cannot find anything. For the several cards I tried to look up general parameters it couldn’t find anything. The website is far easier to use. I will be removing the app. And recommend that it not be used for card database searches. It’s really misleading, too difficult to use, and just bad design..Version: 1.3.6

✓ Latest update broke Card DatabaseI’m sure many people have multiple reasons for downloading this app, but for me it’s easy accessibility to the expansive Magic: the Gathering card database. I downloaded the latest update, hoping they would fix a few issues. Most notably, in my case at least, is that you can’t flip over a transform card in the app, which is something you can do on their website and basically every other site that features a Magic card database. Instead, the update rendered the database function UNUSABLE. I tested it several times and the advanced search function is broken. UPDATES SHOULD NOT MAKE AN APP WORSE..Version: 1.4.1
✓ Settings seems bustedI’m not sure what to expect in settings, but a lengthy page of legal jargon is not it. I’m sure in time that will function fine, just for now at a glance it looks useless. Otherwise logging in was painless. Other aspects work. I hope one day to see match history on there somewhere to notably add to app utility but otherwise it looks great!.Version: 1.0.5

✓ Very Unreliable, wish there were better features for match and event historyThe app is very unreliable. It will frequently lose the context that I am in an event, and I must rejoin most rounds before I can see pairings. It wouldn’t take very much investment to track historical data about matches and games played. Event Date, Location, Format, Record each round and Name of each opponent. You could easy have tools to look at win rates against specific players or for specific formats or stores. The premise of this app is cool, but often I find the old paper method to be more useful, because it is reliable. If they could fix the reliability and add a few features, they could have an indispensable tool for magic players. As it stands… I’ll stick with paper pairings for as long as they remain an option..Version: 1.4.2

✓ Can be unreliableI’ve only been to two events so far using this app but I’ve had issues with the app. Sometimes it doesn’t show the next matchup. ✓ Don’t play if you have limited time to play games each dayThe new meta is players just wasting your time. I have limited time and just want to play a match or two before bed. But every match is just playing against someone who wants to waste your time and use the full length of the time clock each turn to get you to quit because you have less free time on your hands. The game itself is great but the perimeters allow people just to wast your free time that you’ve set aside. I just played played 3 best of 3 matches and quit all 3 because it was just people trying to waste my time for easy wins. I fold laundry and do other chores inbetween turns because it takes that long. Make a league for adults who have limited time and speed up the game clock so we can actually play. Do not download if you have responsibilities and your time is limited. Play deck A, only play against decks that counter deck deck A. So switch to deck B, you’ll only see decks that counter deck B. The matchmaking is not random, not in the list bit.Version: 1.4.6
✓ Needs more frequent updatesIn the description, the developer lists “keep up to date with the latest card previews” as one of the features. However, nearly every other source I use to preview cards is updated much more frequently. For example, Phyrexia: All Will Be One has been out for a few days now and I still can’t see cards from that set. If you want to use this app to preview cards, I suggest going somewhere else..Version: 1.4.5
