✓ Pay or tapThis is not an idle game for anyone who does not want to spend money - the events are pointless past the second level because the jumps for the two main managers are absolutely ridiculous and it seems to have only gotten worse over time. So to progress you can either pay or manually tap which after awhile becomes pointless. Without better idle options this game is another potentially good game locked behind the usual paywall, “Next!”.Version: 1.047

✓ Multi part adsI have been playing this game for a long time, but they have these new multi part ads that will kill off the game. The ad plays for 10 seconds, you have to click to go to the next part, it plays for 10 more seconds, you have to click to go to the last part, and then it plays for 10 seconds again. You cannot just play the ad and wait for the end. I have always watched the ads go get the X2 boost and the extra pie, but I won’t continue if they keep up these ads that won’t just play..Version: 1.050
✓ Buyer bewareThis is your typical nice Kongregate game. Obviously there are a few bugs still that ha e to be worked out. My biggest complaint is that you are required to upgrade managers before you can put them to work if you have the required materials. If you don’t have the pies to upgrade your managers, you can buy them with real cash, but once you have the upgrade mats again, they’re useless until you get the pies. This is where you hit the upgrade wall and it’s pretty fast. I’m at that point on the third level. I’m ok using a 3x manager until I can upgrade to 4x. Upgrading shouldn’t be a requirement for use. Edit: Like others in this genre, there is a point where progression grinds to a halt. Upgrading building cost 1000x of what they produce around level 17. At 18 you’re looking at 3 days just to produce enough coin to upgrade one of your buildings to the next production level. The quest difficulty combined with the uselessness of the auto-farming managers breaks the game. It’s not an idle game at this point. You’re not only clicking on the offered ads (30 second videos every 45 seconds or so) to get a boost, you’re wanted to spend $$$ on cards to upgrade managers that become useless on the next level. And this system is ten times as bad on the event(PvP) levels. This game is going to get lost in the sea of other ad simulators when it had potential to stand out. This game is destined for abandonment soon just like The Trail..Version: 1.025

✓ Good but flawedDownloaded this as liked other idle games although after a while they there’s nothing new and they get boring. This was different, a bit more involved and then a 4 day event starts and there’s something fresh and challenging. First event was great, but the second and now the third are ridiculously hard, trying to automate the shops in the first event I played was challenging as it is as many would jump a level each time you progress and you have to try to level up before you progress to the next town, but it’s a challenge I accepted I wouldn’t always do so. But with the second and third the shops would jump 2 levels each time you progress meaning there is no way to automate all shops so you either play ALL the time or, like me, you choose to give up. I get that it’s about trying to get me to buy resources but I won’t do that, I am happy to watch the adverts which I am sure generates plenty of money or pay 2.99 to play unhindered but I like many other players don’t won’t to be forced into paying to achieve, we will move on. ✓ Bugs and kinksOne of the mechanical issues with this game is that it requires cards to upgrade a manager before being able to buy them. As much as I didn’t like that, it’s a different game, different set of rules. The problem is that on certain managers, it doesn’t matter how many times you upgrade them you will never be able to buy them. Apart from that, the card reward system feels more like it’s taking away from gameplay rather than adding to it - animation is too long- let the players click past all that and work on their optimization. ✓ Irregularities aboundI truly love the game play and characters but have to go ahead and delete this game for a multitude of reasons. First and most important is there is no support or contact us link anywhere to be found at least that I can see which means if it is there it is well hidden. How can you express concerns and inform the game makers of glitches you are encountering if you can’t contact them? I guess they just don’t want to hear it. I stopped playing the main game for the most part because I am now on level 35 and I have my managers at proper levels but to rank up businesses it takes tons of coins, the ratios are waaaay off and you have to stay offline for days before you earn enough to rank up a business. So I just played the events... but now even those are askew. You don’t get enough beans to advance your managers. Sometimes a crate will give me 3 beans other times 130 or more, and I am on town two in the current event and it wants me to have some of my managers at level 3!! ✓ Fun idler that ran out of steam until the eventsIt’s a fun little idler that kind of ran out of steam in the main game well before the end of the journey. You simply would sit on a level for weeks trying to get that last can of beans to unlock a mission, just to not get anything useful. You’ll find yourself faced with moving on or sticking it out to get 2 cards from a final mission that could take weeks to unlock. So they added events. These were fun and helped the main game along a bit, if you could rank well. Well the events turned out at the start to be fair but tough as you tried to figure out which home stead’s paid the most and tried to get the right cards. On Halloween the event was way too easy, after that it’s been too difficult. Ranking up past level 3 means having to spend $13 on a starter pack that is essential to the event. You’ll never get enough cards to automate the collector or shipper without spending money. Making the events the worst kind of game play. I’ve placed 1st in 2 events from hard and smart gaming alone! Now I’m force to buy $13 worth of cards because the charter level requirements are suddenly way too aggressive. This is an obvious move to milk the fat whales for more, not entice dedicated players. ✓ Good game but...I was really enjoying the game for the first 30 minutes but at level 3 or 4, I forget which one, you can’t hire managers unless they’ve been leveled up. The problem is in order to level up you need cards which are dropped randomly by crates. I got stuck where if I wanted to progress I had to keep clicking on the boat in order to get money because I couldn’t hire a manager despite having plenty of coins. Even when I warned a crate it wouldn’t give me cards to level up the correct manager. The first 16 levels or so went well then it became a grind, most idle games take time to progress but at least you feel like you are doing something. Here I can leave it for days building up income to get nothing built . The 3 tasks you have to complete for each level (town) lock each other out.. you need cards on one but to get cards you need to complete another task.. the next task needs you to upgrade a manager but you need pie and cards to do that which you get by completing tasks and upgrading your stores..you can’t upgrade stores as the money generation is soooo slow. So the game stalls. I enjoyed the event but that was also seriously difficult to do anything without being constantly on as you can’t automate anything after the first few levels as it just costs too much in cards and beans.. ✓ For an idle game, there is a whole lot of tappingI’ve been a fan of games from this developer over the years, but this flow is a pretty major turn off. When it takes hours to be able to get the cards just to automate the wagon and barge, it kills the game for me. I’m still not sure how long I will play it, but after a week I’m kind of over it. Other aspects that incentivize you to watch an ad for a cookie are well done and non invasive, although nothing frustrates me more than having a bird fly under where I’m wanting to tap. They make you sign into krogenate which is almost fraudulent in my opinion. Once you give your email address the app freezes and when you shut it down even closed the music and app continues to run. I need to hard shut down my device for it to turn off the app. There is zero way to contact support. I won an event yesterday, first place prize was a legendary chest. In the chest are several hero cards and 2500+ pies. I did not receive any pies. Game won't let me communicate with customer service. Next to impossible to upgrade heroes as in order to get the needed pies you are forced to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars to obtain gold to then buy pies. Event rewards do not make game worth playing. Best bet is to stay away from Idle Frontier!! Not worth playing and getting into the game. Plus their log in screen indicates slavery with black man driving a wagon yet in game there are no black heroes. Some managers I have 40 extra cards for, and some of my businesses sit there doing nothing because I can’t get the cards I need. Then there’s the currency. I can get *maybe* 5 minutes of uninterrupted playtime before it crashes - more often than not, I get barely 10 seconds in-game and any progress I attempted to squeeze in didn’t make it to auto-save. This seems to be a bigger problem with older devices (I’m using an iPhone 6, iOS 12.3.1), if anything the device compatibility rating should be removed for these older devices unless drastic development changes are made to make the game properly compatible. This feels like alpha-testing level of brokenness, and honesty probably should not have been released as-is without a disclaimer (at least for older devices) Dev team, please either direct your testing team to do more thorough stress-testing and end-to-end with older devices and/or emulators before release, or remove the compatibility rating for the devices that you don’t want to test for..Version: 1.025
✓ Events have ruined gameThey’ve ruined the game with events. Events are basically the only way to get legendary cards, epic cards, alternate outfits, and gold. Unfortunately, they’ve made events to where IDLE play is no longer an option. Ironic that IDLE Frontier can’t be played by its namesake. You have to sit and be active or you won’t really make it past town 3 of 15 on events. They don’t provide enough beans to play idle, and they don’t provide enough cards to hire managers. You have to be active to do anything for events. I don’t have 36 hours in a 48 hr period to waste on this game, it’s IDLE Frontier! The entire point is to be able to grow while away as well. They had mid week events before that were MUCH easier and provided pies to help with the main campaign. Now I have to sit for 2-3 weeks on a single town (I’m on lv 56) to complete all of the missions because I can’t upgrade cards for lack of pie. I have over 100 cards for every common character but the next upgrade only requires 30... I am waiting on over 100,000 pies to upgrade people... they’re removing any free aspect to the game and slowly trying to force purchases... expensive purchases. The stupidest thing about the main levels and the events are requiring a manager to be a certain level. As for the events... there are too many too often you have to do a lot of work to play in the events which takes this from a nice relaxing game that you check in on every now and again to a complete bore fest. ✓ ConflictingIt's a good game to kill time and even earn currency while away while offering the choice of ads to keep up with needed currency. What is conflicting is an aspect where you "move on" from your town every time you reach a new level/unlock a new shop. To my surprise, the game refreshed when I switched back to it (reloading the main area and then I'd have to reload the event area as well), and I discovered it had not saved any of my progressfor those 10 minutes or so in the event. It didn't even save the fact that I had watched 6 ads to increase the x2 timer duration on my farm, so I'd have to rewatch the ads if I want that back. It did unfortunately save that I had already opened my free loot crates (but I don't think it saved the contents from them - not sure), so I can't open those again for another 4 hours. Looking in my settings now, I can see it tells me when my last cloud save was, so before I minimized it again (to write this review) I made sure to tap that icon to do a manual save. The road block section requires you to constantly be on to collect your dynamite and you can just leave it to accumulate your coins. After the update, the game is now completely unplayable. I’m missing the Event because the game constantly crashes whenever I try to watch an ad, move over to the Event and I’ve tried to access the Kongregate forums to address this, but it crashes if I try to access that too. It’s an okay game, but the Events are ridiculously hard to complete unless you’re in game constantly clicking away because you can not automate during the last stages. ✓ What happened??After yesterday’s update it won’t load past the opening screen. Tells me something about giving me 1000 pies if I do something with Kongregate, then just keeps trying to load the page. I was at the last level and town on the map. Please fix! ✓ This needs to be called an “Ad Clicker” gameIt’s not a fun idle game and I’ve stopped spending money on it. Now I log in whenever I want and don’t care if it takes me weeks to finish one town or if I don’t finish the events. The new ads are annoying, the money grab is the same as well as the response you give to everyone “we’re sorry and we’ll pass this along”. Don’t bother, this is a game I now play on my time and in between other idle games which I enjoy much more, Idle Police Tycoon. I also spend money on my other idle games because they are a lot more fun to play, they treat me as more than a bank and I enjoy supporting them. ✓ Not Idle! Total cash grabEvents are a cash grab. It’s not even pay to win... it’s even lower than that... it’s pay to have the “privilege to play” this game. ✓ Awesome game ruinedI absolutely love this game, or at least I used to. They used to have events that were actually winnable if you put in a bit of work, and they were actual idle events. Now events are impossible. You’re lucky if you get enough cards to automate level 2 out of 10. I used to have so much fun in these events and now they’re impossible to win without spending money. So disappointing considering how fun the game used to be! Please bring back the pie reward events!!.Version: 1.059
