Rapid Ring for Negative User Reviews

Not a great solutionSo, I downloaded the app because yeah, the main app can be a little slow to open when I get a notification. Well, this one is usually faster to open, but the quality of the video is somehow way worse. Most of the time I’d have to go to the main app to even tell who was at my door. This app was supposed to make things faster, and it just wasn’t. Plus, when I try to go to the most recent alert it opens rapid ring app... but it’s only for live view/current alert. Again, making everything take longer. Uninstalled because it’s was making me more frustrated than anything. Oh, well..Version: 1.6.1

Big disappointmentThis app was brilliant when I first loaded it - access to the camera was almost instant and way faster than the standard app. WHAT HAS HAPPENED?? Now it is virtually useless. 9 times out of 10 it will say live view connection lost - make sure your device is on line !! The rare time it connects its far to late to have any interaction as the caller is out of sight and long gone. My Wi-fi is spot on and the camera is 6ft from the Wi-fi router. I haven’t changed a thing so it’s clearly the ring app which sadly is wasting a valuable space on my phone screen. Don’t waste your time until you see any reviews suggesting ring have fixed it.Version: 1.9.2

Slow connectionThe Ring app is hit and miss sometimes you start the app and it’s a blank screen . Most of the time it’s less than rapid in fact the opportunity to speak to who ever at your foot is gone before it connects. The standard answer is your in a poor network environment . Simply can’t be true as it even does the same thing when I have been at home also when I know the network is good . Still I’m happy with mine even with its faults ..Version: 1.15.2

Wow I was not Expecting thisI thought when it was live view the app would open up with all the cameras all ready on live view at the same time like the first ring app but live view Without having to press a button for each one. Them the worst part is to receive notification From the app you have to select yes. But is all the same Notification tone. I don’t know the different between each camera is unbelievable. You have to select you don’t want Notification and let the old app keep sending you the notifications. It doesn’t even let you select the order you want the camera on the app. Give me the impression they wrote the app in a week and threw it out there. I have axis camera inside the house and I have a app ipCam You can see all 10 cameras at the same time live view in secs the app opens up and if I walk in side the house I can see myself with no lag. This app needs a lot of work 0star..Version: 1.4.5

FrustratingRapid ring sounds better than it is it’s great if you’re just accessing the camera very fast. but if there’s motion then you access the camera it’s as long as the regular ring app to open up or losing signal we have Wi-Fi boosters we have ring bridges ring extenders high speed Internet slow speed Internet ring is what it is it’s a cheap surveillance system there’s a reason why commercial businesses do not use Ring because you cannot access the cameras 100% of the time at Best you get 65% of opening up the camera view. so in the end all you wind up with is a video of what happened after the fact scale 1 to 10 ring is a solid 5 maybe in the future it will improve but don’t hold your breath ..Version: 1.37.0

Ring developers you can do betterI get the notification right away but the video to show me why I received the notification takes forever to load. I have to go into the ring app and try to look at the motion alert which is usually still loading. I have verified my internet connection and speed. I have nest at another house and when I get a notification it also sends a short clip of the motion it detected, I can press and hold the notification on my iPhone and see the clip without having to unlock and go into the app. I can then see if it is a cat or a person and choose to ignore it or investigate further. I went with Ring on this house because of the spotlight cameras that can be wired right into existing light boxes. That part is great so please improve the speed and notifications. Also it would be great if you had a feature where if your phone was connected to the same wifi network it would disable the notifications. I go outside to shovel snow and the wife gets 40 notifications..Version: 1.6.3

Product issueRing camera starts to develop issues after about a year use like developing connection even when we have fast internet with Pods near the door bell.Version: 1.18.0

Still a ways to goLoads faster than the normal Ring app, but the notifications do not work. Considering this app only does a couple things the fact notifications do not work is very disappointing..Version: 1.4.5

Not like on the tellyI have seen the backsides of more postmen and delivery drivers using this app. On the telly people talk to folks in their garden. By the time this has gone off they have usually gone. I get notified of movement at the door when I come back from the take away and it’s usually dished out before this app wakes up. However it does notify me of movement but usually well after the event. Pretty useless really. Don’t bother buying this. Get a little chihuahua instead. Much more effective.Version: 1.6.2

Slow to notifyThe delivery person can walk towards the door (within camera sensor window), leave item at door, walk back to their car and starting to drive off before I’m alerted..Version: 1.37.0

Ring App.Can’t access the ring app. It has changed and now can’t see who is at my door. I paid for nothing. This is ridiculous..Version: 1.38.0

Worthless. Simply worthless. (That’s really zero stars. )For a few days I noticed a slight improvement in the live view connection speed. Then it slowed and balked again like always. Then I upgraded to the latest iOS and for four glorious days it worked beautifully. Now I get a message that the live view connection has been lost and that I need to connect to the internet. All of this while my wifi signal is burned into the screen. I rebooted the router and the cable modem to no avail. Used router settings to check internet speed and it’s excellent. Device health indicators all good. But no live view, just insulting error messages. And don’t even THINK about contacting Ring for support. You call their 800 number and get a recording that the call could not be completed as dialed. “Please check the number and dial again.” Just another miserable experience added to a litany of others related to the worthless and deceptively advertised Ring Doorbell, THE most disappointing product I ever acquired. I would SO love to have that money back..Version: 1.36.0

The notifications can be disturbingI’ve had the rapid ring for some time. I really liked it. It opened quickly and allowed to see what was going on. But they did an update of some sort and now, there is a submarine sound every time a motion is detected. There is no where to change the sound so that is why I rate it so low..Version: 1.35.0

Simpler App, Lower Resolution VideoThis app certainly accomplishes what the name implies - it is faster than the normal Ring app. But this is accomplished through using lower resolution video and fewer features. It seems that rather than upgrading their network and hardware they just decided it’s easier to just use less data to load faster. So while it does get you faster access to video they most likely could spend the money to upgrade on their end so you don’t have to decide between speed and quality. If they sell an HD camera with paid web access it should give you reasonably fast HD video without compromise. The tech is available if they are willing to pay for it..Version: 1.25.0

No noticesI’m not getting any notifications at all!.Version: 1.7.0

BrokenRegular Ring app works well and has strong signal. Rapid Ring exhibits constant weak signal error message with half the screen pixelated or missing. Check out forums, definitely an issue with the app itself and appears to be ongoing and unresolved. Why are we paying for a subscription if you won’t fix the issue?.Version: 1.11.0

Works when in wifi but not in cellular networkWas working perfectly before but recently I can’t use Rapid Ring any more when I’m on cellular network. Rapid Ring is VERY USELESS when you’re away from home. I called support hotline (time was 24/Jun/21 11:20pm AEST) and instead of trying to find solutions or getting answers why the issue but her response was that “Rapid Ring is only meant to be an assistant app and if not working, then just use the slow main Ring app”, which to me is a very bad support service. Can you please fix Rapid Ring on cellular network issue?.Version: 1.27.0

Broken since IOS 14Seems to be incompatible with IOS 14. Normal Ring app works fine, but Rapid Ring just gives you a black screen when you try to view notifications. Hurry up and fix it!.Version: 1.15.1

Battery problemsMy battery on Ring3 doorbell has been running down in 72 hours with ring rapid app. I have now removed it and the battery is lasting much better. However I did a couple of other changes - factory reset, change of WiFi- so I can’t confirm that the app is to blame. I will reinstall in a few days and watch the battery drain rate..Version: 1.15.1

Not any fasterHave both ring apps Installed this one doesn’t notify you any faster but it does open the live view faster.Version: 1.15.2

Great but...Opens up video feeds very quickly. However, you have to close the app and the reopen it to start another stream. There is no X on the screen to get back to the camera list to choose another camera to view. This issue makes this app not as usable as I would have hoped..Version: 1.9.2

Better but Not EnoughRapid Ring goes a long way in salvaging what would have been a worthless system due to the standard Ring app’s inability to show a live video stream in a timely manner. Video displays almost instantly, so that’s a step in the right direction. But unfortunately, the alert when someone approaches is somewhat delayed, so far too often the person at your door has come and gone before you’ve had a chance to launch the app. This is where Rapid Ring’s inability to rewind a few seconds weakens the strength of the system..Version: 1.9.2

Rapid ring slow and untimelyRapid ring has not worked as expected. Often it ring 15 minutes to 30 minutes after it is activated ie., a person walks by. This is intermittent. For example, it just rang as soon a someone walked by. I don’t know what the determinents are, I have checke my battery and WiFi including resetting my modem and router but it makes no difference. I also find the person who activated it is not on the display. Often the person can be found just outside of it. All in all, this program or My device a iPhone XRhas a problem I suspect it is likely to be the program. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank You.Version: 1.34.0

4G IssuesApp can become stuck in a state where Live View will not connect via 4G. Reinstall of app and reboot does not help..Version: 1.25.0

Why not in main app, though? As per title, explain to users why we have to install a separate app to get fast access? The description makes no effort to make this point clear whatsoever. Sure this app just does the live view, but WHY can this not be in the main app? Confusing and ultimately annoying having yet another icon slot on home screen having to be taken up needlessly. Sort it out Ring, as it's unfathomably silly..Version: 1.2

WorthlessI just downloaded this app, set it up, including allowing notifications. Then I walked in front of camera to test and got.... Nothing! 2 ring apps and no notifications on either. Walked around and even waved my hand in front of it. Nothing. Finally got far back away and walked towards it and finally got a notification. Clicked on it and.... nothing! Wouldn’t load, but gave a message about not having access to private WiFi??? I’m at home.... I spent a lot of money on these cameras. I’m paying for a subscription for cloud. Have 2 apps on my phone that don’t work. I’m starting to feel like I’ve been scammed. Very disappointed..Version: 1.5.1

Needs refiningWorks ok. the buttons to activate viewing the cameras should be the entire line, or, if not, at least be able to tap on the picture. the single orange dot at the end is annoying. as i’m watching people steal my garden hose while im at work, it would be nice to be able to make the button overlay go away so i can see the corners of the screen. also, why don’t you add a “camera view rotation” option so we can watch the cameras real-time w/o having to tap at all. i forgot what else. but that was the two issues and one idea i had for today. thanks to everyone at the app making place for making my family just that much more safe and secure each night. the garden hose: they can keep it. fair price to keep them out of the house, i’d say. im going to bump that up to three stars. y’all are trying tucson az.Version: 1.19.0

UnreliableSometimes does not ring until hours later, when I pick up my iPad. When it does ring, sometimes takes too long to activate camera..Version: 1.19.0

NotificationNotifications are not working.Version: 1.4.5

Why is the doorbell not a time sensitive notification?!This was reasonably good until recent iOS updates added the stupid concept of unimportant notifications. This app does not classify its notifications as important, so sometimes the doorbell doesn’t ring for half an hour after the person has left. That is the reason I have changed my rating from five stars to two..Version: 1.36.0

Ring doorbell is terribleIt keeps disconnecting for my Network. It worked well the first year since then it’s been useless. I’m waiting for WTZE’s new unit to come out and I’ll replace it..Version: 1.35.0

Lights at nightWorks great except when a vehicle on the road has lights turned towards my property. These lights will set off the motion detector no matter what you do. Luckily I’m not on a busy road.Version: 1.17.0

WORTHLESSEven help isn’t there..Version: 1.19.0

Nice try but it still doesn’t work.I really wanted this update to work. The older more robust version was always way too slow. People would be inside my house before the app would activate and become fully functional. This one activates much quicker but it’s still glitchy. The video and audio are freezing and the conversation with the person at the door is frustrating as it keeps freezing up so I don’t hear everything they are saying. The router and the base station are just on the other side of the wall from the front door so I don’t think it’s a proximity issue either. Come on Ring. You guys can figure this out. Perhaps try making your firmware lighter and therefore quicker to load..Version: 1.3

Rapid videoIt shud start automatically as soon as there is a motion. It takes time by the time you start the rapid view the car or person gone. ..Version: 1.6.2

Live events don’t workSubscription expired, haven’t been able to use since, cannot view any live events. I can view other times just not events when it counts. Have sent numerous request for help with screen recordings and screen shots. I am sure you can find a better product. Wish I would have.Version: 1.18.0

Maybe they should fix the original appI went ahead and installed this “fast” ring app version to try it. I logged in, tried to experience fast view of my 3 devices- all three were fast failures. Retried and they kept failing. In addition, this fast app version reports the doorbell has a bad connection. Ridiculous as the full app doesn’t report that problem, and it also pulled up live video feed just fine, but with its usual sluggishness. I have a mesh WiFi system, with a node near the doorbell- I checked my WiFi app, and it reports the doorbell has an excellent connection. The full regular Ring app agrees with my mesh WiFi app- it’s excellent. Go figure.🤪 So not a good experience here. I also find it annoying to need yet ANOTHER app- why not just fix the original app, and design it prioritize notifications and the video feed? Am I supposed to get double the notification from two apps? The irony of my setup is my Arlos have the complete opposite issue- I get notifications super quick, with the event, and even a video preview snapshot highlighting whatever triggered the event. Great, except that pulling up video can be PAINFULLY slow. Ots faster if I go look myself sometimes. 🤦.Version: 1.11.0

UnreliableFails to turn on the camera when I need it most..Version: 1.13

DoorbellTake to long to see the video and for l don’t know what reason l don’t heard the ring bell..Version: 1.38.0

Ok but could use some improvementsIt does open the Ring app but I’d like it to directly open the live view. Most of the time it just opens a list of cams and you still need to open the camera. It also doesn’t follow the snooze settings when you set a camera in the Ring app..Version: 1.13

Good not GreatFor me, it wasn’t perfectly clear why Rapid Ring needed to exist. It seems like a more basic version of the Ring app but perhaps faster? My thought is that if they could make the video generate faster then just improve the Ring App? Why the need for a second app? Let me be clear, I like it, I think it’s good... but it’s hard for me to say it’s great when I feel like they made a separate app for something that could have been an update to either of the existing apps. Just my two-cents!.Version: 1.24.0

Does not work after a dayI have the ring doorbell pro, floodlight and security system. I installed this app with hopes that it would alleviate the issue of the full app opening slowly so that I may respond to motion and the doorbells quicker. It would work great at first but after the first day, it would stop sending me notifications from the doorbell and floodlight. I reinstalled the app thinking it would solve the issue but it did not. I’m not sure if it’s confused with security system but it just stops sending me notifications Ring please fix this issue! I would love to get to use this app. For now I’m stuck with the full app that opens too slowly.Version: 1.13

Terrible for battery lifeThis app Does open up the ring camera faster, but it consistently uses up 75%+ of my battery life if I forget to close it out when I am done. For some reason the App keeps using significant power even when it is not actively being used. As long as the app is open on the background, my battery drains at ~4-5x the usual rate. Sometimes I’ll only get ~3-4 hours of battery life if I leave it open in the background. This is a big bug the ring team needs to solve. If solved I’d give the app a 5 star..Version: 1.34.0

Version 1.15.1I updated to the latest version of the app about a week ago. (V 1.15.1) and since then whenever I click on the notification it opens the app but it only shows a black screen. Then I switch back to the classic ring app and I open the live view from there. Please fix this issue as the rapid app is currently useless for me..Version: 1.15.1

Video quality needs improvementFast connection, however video quality is dramatically degraded!.Version: 1.4.5

Faster than standard Ring AppSo it is indeed faster than the standard Ring App however two things, 1. Why isn’t this just all built into the standard App? This just suggests that the standard App has become too bloated and over-laden with features 2. The latest update makes the ‘Go Live’ button smaller. How did that make it through testing? That’s entirely design over UX; making a button smaller helps no-one, particularly someone who is hard of sight or with poor dexterity. I hope the larger button returns in a future update.Version: 1.6.0

Much faster but stuttersConnecting to live view is much faster and I would definitely have preferred to use this app for quick viewing and answering the doorbell. However I can’t, because every 3 seconds the live view stutters. This does not happen on live view on the main ring app so not my WiFi. I’ll keep it for quick access but I can’t move over to it as planned. Connecting to the camera for live view is definitely faster but stuttering ruins it..Version: 1.4.5

Annoying GUI designThe GUI designers of this app clearly did not do enough testing. It is very irritating to use. Why? Let me explain. The premise of this app is “speed”. That’s why you install it. Yet whenever I open it and go to click on the red “play” symbol to show the live video of my Ring doorbell I miss the red button because the red “play” circle is temporarily moved down while a spinning icon appears above as the app does a “refresh” This is frankly stupid! And whoever designed this has never actually tried to use it! Move the spinning icon to the bottom, make it smaller so it does not cause the list of Ring devices to temporarily move down or do something else. Great app spoiled by a poorly thought out GUI. Note: I’ve written many GUIs in my 30y software career and what users want, among many things, is consistently and predictability..Version: 1.22.0

Will not connectUnfortunately when using the Rapid Ring app attempting to open my devices I just get a response saying cannot open device as connection is too weak - however going into the standard Ring app I can open each device no problem - I have check each device health and they all have an RSSI of between -51 and -57- the only one that opens in the ring app is a camera that is next to my wifi router and has an RSSI of -26 - My wifi is SKY max and I have the Sky Q router and a mesh network set up thru the house using dual bands of 2.4 GHz and 5GHz - Any ideas.Version: 1.12

Free trial ended live viewFree trial expired and next day live view fails. Reporting this to the ACCC.Version: 1.19.0

Cameras simply don’t connectI have a front door cam, a stickup cam, and 3 spotlight cams. Signal strength for all of them is anywhere from -18 to -30 - all green wifi signals. The live view simply doesn’t work…connection is random at best. Rapid ring is a bit better but not much. This is all attached directly to wifi from gigabit Ethernet. Ring constantly says it’s positioning on wifi - it’s not - the app or ring cameras are simply iffy even on the best of connections. Other devices on the same network have no issue. Motion notifications seem to connect ok so I firmly believe we have bad app programming or an issue with camera requests for live view..Version: 1.37.0

Notifications fail to initiate camerasClicking on the motion notification fails to initiate the cameras, every single time. Instead, I have to unlock the phone, open the app, and select the camera to view..Version: 1.15.1

What a mess of an AppI wanted to like this app. Fast access, easy to navigate but the constant notifications will drive you insane especially if you use the Home/Away/Disarmed modes. I have cams that are blocked when we are home since I do not want to have it record for all users access. Private areas of the home that should be blocked when I use the Home mode. Nope not with this app, it just keeps recording away for all to see, places the information in your timeline for any users who have access to the App including children. This is a major issue since it overrides any setting you have in the orginal ring app for ANYONE who uses the app. WARNING, this app does not understand Home/Away/Disarmed modes. So if you have other people who help monitor your home and you run through the house naked, SURPRISE they are getting a serious motion alert. Removing the app allowed the original Ring app to go back to the job it is supposed to do. Block recording when you need it blocked. If you don’t care about the mode setting this is a great app. But when you have multiple people who have access to private areas of your home they are watching away without any notification other than by chance you looking into your timeline history. I was shocked and embarrassed at it recoding private areas of my home. If they allow this app to understand the modes, I will download it in a minute..Version: 1.9.2

Still HORRID after all this time..It seems like it is ALWAYS something with this app, whether it be a black screen or a “weak connection” when the camera has a great connection. I have an RSSI of -37 to my backyard floodlight camera yet I can BARELY get a picture with it reporting a “weak connection” and then abruptly dropping the connection altogether. THERE IS NO REASON FOR IT TO BE THIS BAD! Ring really needs to go back to the drawing board and redesign this and the main app so that you can get a DIRECT FEED of the video WITHOUT it having to be sent to their servers first then come back to you. Many people do not have very fast upload speeds so this upload first, then back down is what is killing the video. SPLIT the feed so one feed and can go DIRECTLY to any devices on the same network and then also send the other feed up to your servers so off network devices can see it. Other companies do it this way and so should Ring..Version: 1.24.0

Doesn’t workI downloaded Rapid Ring, successfully logged in to my account and followed the instructions. Live View works well and is indeed much faster to open than in the main app. However, notifications for motion and doorbell presses don’t work. I’ve correctly set up the app and notification settings, but I receive no notifications at all from Rapid Ring, which pretty much defeats the raison d’être of Rapid Ring. I’ll be sticking with the main app. It may be slow but at least it works..Version: 1.10.0

What a scamFirst you spend over $100 on a camera, then your have to purchase subscription to be able to use it ?!?!?! The free app is slow and unable to connect most of the time what a scam......Version: 1.22.0

Not worth the troubleI have purchased a total of four ring products. Not a single one of them has been an easy process. I decided by the time I got to the fourth one that I was just going to give it one more try. However it has proved to be more difficult than the first three. I even spoke to customer service about it and they told me there was nothing they could do since my previous cameras were outdated. The new camera that I just imstalled doesn’t function and customer service keeps telling me that it is my Wi-Fi. I have several devices that run on Wi-Fi in my home and even have a Wi-Fi extender. There’s a very strong signal to the camera that is not working correctly so I know it’s not the Wi-Fi. I feel like I’m getting the runaround. And to make it even more frustrating I always have to stay on hold for 20 or 30 minutes we’re getting actual person.Version: 1.21.1

Not really faster as advertisedI would like quick access to my live feed. I appreciate their effort but it still falls short of what is trying to accomplish. Still seconds before I get the video and trying to talk to the person at the door. By that time they have rung the bell again. Frustrating for me. I also get a notification on my watch but unable to have a quick picture of who/what happened at the time to set the motion off. I have to look at my watch, then go find my phone, then open the app, then the intruder has done their deed and took off! I’m open to ideas too on home to use their cameras more efficient, if I can improve my habits. Please let me know. I am all in on this system! Please continue to make improvements.Version: 1.12

Apple Watch GlitchFor some reason - with the snapshot option enabled, when I receive motion or doorbell notifications on my Apple Watch I get about 4 or 5 back to back notifications, which is a little bit annoying as my watch is going nuts whenever someone comes to my door. Hopefully this is something that can be resolved soon..Version: 1.19.0

QualityVideo picture at night is bad.Version: 1.5.1

Don’t understand the purpose of this appFor me personally this app does the same as a regular Ring App. Maybe it does it faster or the plus is it provides a direct access to your door bell, but personally I installed this app months ago but used it only few times. The app itself is working great, I just don’t see how it can help me. The app I would like to see - open the app and see in one second what my Ring camera sees without any extra steps, and if someone ring a bell I’ll have an option to setup an app to see a doorbell view on my phone automatically, no pressing of anything, no opening of any apps..Version: 1.13

Broken just like everything RiNGEven after spending £1000 upgrading my WiFi network with strong signals outdoors, this app now says “weak connection is causing video issues” in a red line at the top! The original ring app even though it takes a second or so more to connect shows live view with none of these warnings! There’s me thinking it was my internet! Shame on you RING! Latest update 11th feb hasn’t fixed the weak connection issue no idea what improvements they have made!.Version: 1.6.3

Rapid ring loading blank screen on my ipad miniWas ok before the update. Now just showing a blank/black screen in live view. No notifications received as well. Ive uninstalled both ring and rapid ring apps, signed out both then uninstalled then reinstalled, restarted, powered off then on then reinstalled, all to no avail. So now ive concluded that its an app problem. Please fix. Soon. Thanks.Version: 1.13

Newest release broke rich notifications on iOSYou can no longer expand a rich notification on iOS from notifications screen. When you do, the image does not appear. This worked really well until recently..Version: 1.21.1

Works one out of 10... horribleWorst wifi cameras, 99% of the time they don’t work... stay away!!!!!.Version: 1.19.0

Needs Basic ImprovementsI applaud a separate stripped down and speed optimised app like this, but it doesn’t go far enough because of 2 basic missing features that would make this app really good. 1. I frequently like to view my Ring camera even without getting any notifications but the app forces me to hit a pretty small orange button tough target to start the feed. Just make the entire line where the Ring device is a touch target so when I’m fumbling with my phone it’s not a total pain! If the name of the game is speed, then why make me hit a very tiny button on screen otherwise void of buttons or features? 2. Place one additional option in the menu to launch a default Ring devices camera feed immediately every time the app is opened, no additional button presses needed. No one I know has more than one device they really want this kind of rapid response from and it would make this app worthy of its name. Pretty minor complaints though but still necessary to point out. I am happy the app that exists now even as it stands..Version: 1.29.0

Is original ring app still needed? Not used yet so can’t rate - but want to know if I still need to have the original ring app installed to use this? Will review properly with stars when I receive a response and had chance to experience this app. Other app is very frustrating and too slow to open up when the doorbell is rung. Ready to give up on ring and buy another where I can record straight onto a memory card rather than pay an extortionate fee for a recording service. Can you not provide this?? Thanks..Version: 1.13

Connection issueOut of the 10 times the original ring app had to reconnect this one only took 9 reconnects to view the live stream. Wow such a huge improvement. Nothing is wrong with my WiFi/ internet. Every single device I use has fast speed WiFi. I have tried getting closer to the device, using my LTE, restarting everything and yet I still have connection issue. This connection problem is seriously getting on my nerves to the point where I see no use in this camera. By the time this camera reconnects the person that was standing there for 5 minutes would have walked away. Don’t get why this is a problem for so many people. Pretty much defeats the purpose to this doorbell..Version: 1.9.2

EXTREMELY POOR PERFORMANCEThe performance quality of the ring device is extremely poor!!! The sensor is absolutely sensitive; however, it’s only sensitive to vehicles driving by. It’s worth noting, that this device very rarely detect “people” entering my property even if they are at my front door—which defeats the purpose. I have tried every possible troubleshooting techniques privy to me from: adjusting the sensor, adding a device to boost the wireless connection, placed the wireless modem right by the door, added the supplemental app designed to improve the rings connectivity etc. and to no avail, the issues still exist. Quite disappointing to say the least..Version: 1.7.0

NotificationYou don’t get notification if you turn on motion notification on this app. Use to work but not anymore..Version: 1.9.0

Last update on ring and rapid ringLast update on ring and rapid ring massive failure. So many bugs. No picture in rapid ring unless you go out and go back in again. Takes minutes to see who’s at the door and then no history on app. Very messy.Version: 1.15.1

UselessYou have to relaunch the app several times for it just to connect and there’s nothing fast about it. Even with my 100mbps internet and the router 3 meters away. Waste of time..Version: 1.38.0

Worked for a whileWhen I got this app it was much quicker than the ring app but after a couple of weeks it’s worse . The ring doorbell is great when it works but they really need to fix the connectivity issues. I upgraded to ring 3 thinking that it may work better but how silly was I ? ( answers on a post card ) My router is 2 meters away from the ring chime which is meant to be a WiFi booster and a total of 3 meters away from the bell camera.Version: 1.19.0

Why make the touch targets so smallIf the idea behind this app is making it quick and easy to use, why then can’t you tap the whole row to watch a camera live? The button to tap it is tiny, and on massive screens it can be a pain to hit when holding the phone with one hand. Bigger touch targets will help everyone..Version: 1.31.0

Used to work wellThis used to work well, no fuss connection to the device, but since the latest update tells me it has too weak a signal; that is not true as I have strong signal satellite devices all over my house that stream other makes of cameras perfectly fine; would appreciate a fix of the app.Version: 1.11.0

Not all it’s cracked up to be.Rapid Ring? More like sometimes rapid but usually no faster than the actual Ring app. The purpose of Rapid Ring is the quickly load live feeds from your Ring cameras without loading the whole Ring app. I am currently switching from Ring to Eufy cameras. I still have two Ring cameras and while one loads rather quickly, the other is so hit and miss (it’s inconsistent just like the Ring app itself). Overall, not really impressed. If you want better cameras, a better app, and pay less money, switch to Eufy like I am..Version: 1.18.0

BrokenLive View no longer works over cellular. Have to use main Ring app instead. Please fix..Version: 1.28.0

Doesn’t workIt’s faster to load but still doesn’t load in time when motion or door bell is rang.Version: 1.6.1

Does not work! They have a good lan and idea, but for some reason they just do not have the technology to make their idea work! As I said, it is a great concept BUT until they can get it to work in real time it is just a play toy. It has such a problem with loading up and getting online that it is just frustrating! If you do not mind using the app to see the delivery guy drive off it might suit you. If you want to open app and see what’s going on then you will have to wait until the “it will open momentarily” to go away but whoever is or was there are long gone! I HOPE THEY HAVE A BETTER PLAN FOR A BETTER APP FOR THE FUTURE!.Version: 1.11.0

Alert snoozing should mirror main appIt would be nice to have alerts mirror the main app for 4 hour snooze.Version: 1.25.0

Rubbish nowSomehow around the time of the original iOS14 beta release, both this app and the regular ring app are unable to load live video feeds on my iPhone and iPad from my ring appliances, due to “weak WiFi” error message that comes up - before this, both apps worked great with live video. Weirdly the same problem occurs using the ring app on my Mac with Catalina as well - this doesn’t work either suggesting a Ring update is more likely at fault! This is despite having great WiFi and no issues using other devices. COME ON RING/AMAZON - NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!!!.Version: 1.15.2

No HelpI posted an extensive review of the original Ring app, so I won’t go into a bunch of detail here and just cut to the chase. After having an endless amount of issues with the Ring app making my cameras useless, I hoped downloading this app would solve my issues. However, I’m continuing to experience almost the same problems. The camera will load more often than the Ring app but neither would load late last night when I received motion alerts. And for those who may think it’s a wireless issue, it happens whether or not my iPhone 11 Plus is on WiFi or LTE/5G and both cameras have “Great” signal. I’m continuing to lose hope in this company over something so ignorant as making their app work like it used to. I never used to have an issue like this when I bought the original Ring Doorbell. As I mentioned in my other review, why would time and finances be spent on making an entirely new app to try and fix the issues with the other Ring app? Why not invest in fixing the one you have? It’s beyond me. I guess I will continue to pray it actually connects to my $500 cameras (Doorbell Pro/Floodlight) if and when something happens and when it doesn’t, putting my family/home in jeopardy- that moment is when I will throw them in the trash and go with another company. I mean, I have a $30 “Wyze” in-home camera that connects EVERY time..Version: 1.4.5

Black screen when open from notificationsSince ios 14 when you open rapid ring from a notification you can see that the cam loads bit there is no feed. If you stop the feed from the notice and click on the cam again you will see it load and then you can see the video feed. The app works great but is now having problem loading from a notice..Version: 1.15.1

Still not reliable enoughOften crashes (iPhone 11, strong WiFi); audio is laggy / choppy; often sits waiting to open the video but it never comes; when it opens the screen jumps down and back up again which is annoying when you just want to open the video feed. The product and service is great but the app is still too flaky. They really should just make the main app work so there isn’t a need for the Rapid one - seems like a bit of a fudge to me. Please fix !.Version: 1.17.0

Slower for me.I know that this my sound odd, but I have found that notifications from Rapid Ring are slower than the standard Ring app. I agree that once you have the notification or if you just wish to view you camera/a then this app does get you viewing slightly quicker, but for me it isn’t really worth it..Version: 1.15

Works on ipad but not on iphoneI’ve deleted and reloaded several times on my iphone and at first it works as it used to; quick. Now it works once and then the black (you’re (45 Mbits) broadband is the problem?) screen comes up. i don’t think my broadband is the problem so that leaves Rapid Ring. Over to you guys. Whatever you did to improve things in the last update .....it didn’t. Odd that it works on my ipad pro?.Version: 1.15.1

Slower than normal Ring APPDownloaded after multiple calls to RING on constant delays 10-15 seconds on peephole or doorbell ring and it’s worse than original APP. Have highest internet speed possible and so tired of being told to buy additional items for products to be functional 18 seconds of delay and have high speed internet and replaced the Ring BRIDGE twice. Thinking it’s a flaw with the equipment as stated by others. Peephole works way better than doorbell units. Peephole is flawed in viewing even with additional attachment for viewing your threshold and packages dropped off on the mat or inside your screen door. More attention to the details would be nice from ring as competition is increasing!.Version: 1.19.0

Comprising securityIf you rely on this app to provide notifications of activity I would look elsewhere. This app will out of nowhere log you out without notification of doing so for whatever reason. You will be presented with an “unknown error” message when attempting to log back on. Doesn't happen often but if this were to happen during a critical moment your security would be compromised without you knowing. Currently going on 7 hours without being able to log on. Ring in general is really just decent for video evidence if that and not a good real time video tool. Upon notifications in the middle of the night you find that it is difficult to connect to and unreliable because of the time it takes to connect. By the time you get a real time view you are a minute or two behind in a game that’s generally over in seconds. Don’t waste time and look elsewhere or just clear the structure yourself..Version: 1.22.0
