AmpliFi Teleport for Positive User Reviews

Great!It works!!.Version: 1.0.3

Great featureAmending my review now that I’ve realised that the time limit is for the use of the access code only, and not the duration of the VPN connection itself. A great VPN solution for travellers who have an AmpliFi router at home..Version: 1.0.1

Updated Review!!Initially, I was very concerned about remote connection via google / facebook account - thus gave it 1 star!! However, after a few weeks research, I noticed all other routers with remote connectivity use their own cloud servers which makes things even worst!! Most, if not all, fail basic security with their firmwares as I’m sure you are aware of! A quick internet search shows each and every vendor at some point were notified about security issues and some even ignored them for a very long time!! So, how could you even trust their cloud servers?? Back to this app, these folks have made a smart decision by using / authenticating users with others’ servers! If they fail and get hacked, AmpliFi cannot be held responsible! SMART!! But then again, I personally don’t trust facebook / google either - hacked or not! That’s why I gave this app 4 stars because it works but I wish / hope they come up with another solution - soon!!.Version: 1.0.2

Works greatSeamlessly connected and works as advertised, great addition to what I feel is best consumer mesh router on market.Version: 1.0

Terrific!Prior to purchasing an AmpliFi Alien Roger, I’d always paid for VPNs. First, for security. Second, because I travel to places that block some internet sites. Third, I like to access my home cable subscription when I’m traveling. This app allows me to do that for … nothing! Better yet, I’m doing so through my home network. I’ve found the connection to be quick enough and stable to stream sports events while I’m overseas. Highly recommend..Version: 1.1.6

Free VPN! And works flawlessly!Easiest VPN setup ever! No fees!? Count me in. Also, don’t need an AmpliFi to use - just need a friend to share a code with you and then can have access to their network. Game changer!.Version: 1.0

Works well, needs Face IDThis is a good facility and it works well, regardless of internet connection and location. However, it needs Face ID, so it can be locked securely and prevent unauthorised access..Version: 1.1.3

Perfect! If you want something that is simple to use and just works, this is the way to go. Get yourself a AmplifiHD mesh router and the Teleport app. Only improvement I can think of is to have a way for the VPN connection to enable automatically when you leave your Amplifi WiFi network, and disable when re-entering..Version: 1.0

Game ChangerThis app is an absolute game changer! I don’t normally leave reviews, but Ubiquity Networks has outdone themselves. I am able to connect to my home network when not physically present, which has allowed me to access my NAS, and operate the devices that require local connection (e.g. Sonos). Furthermore, I was able to access my U.S. Netflix content on my last international trip. Please note that for proper operation, you must have remote access enabled on your actual AmpliFi router, and if you are testing in-home, ensure you are on your cellular network..Version: 1.0.3

Amazing !I don’t have anything bad to say about the app at all. Everything works like a charm however I do have one request though: Please make this app for MacOS... Now that would be a killer! Good work guys, really. _/\_.Version: 1.1.1

Great when it worksWhen functioning properly it’s great, but unfortunately the frequency in which the connection drops can be frustrating. This is definitely intended for use with a stable WiFi connection away from home, as on 4G it will frequently disable itself and lose connection. Unfortunately there is no way to auto connect back to my home network without manually going back into the app and tapping the switch again..Version: 1.1.3

Can’t get any easyI’ve been using AMPLIFI router for the last 2 yrs and have been immensely happy with it. I tried Samsung, Portal and another mesh network prior to landing on AMPLIFI and so glad I found this. It’s so easy to setup and control kids access with parental control. With respect to this teleport app, the setup can’t get any easier. Took about 2 mins including installing the app and connecting to vpn. This company has been surpassing all my expectations so far with respect to home networking..Version: 1.0

Incredible AwesomeThis save my time, couple hundred Dollars and on top of that hassle to create my own VPN server at home. Initially i was thinking to setup VPN using PI then i did some research and get yo know about this app for my Mesh point. Now i am very happy as i travel alot around the globe so i can use secure Internet and my personal Information wherever i go. Thanks for this Great feature. 🤗.Version: 1.0.1

Ridiculously GoodThe fact is, this app is absolutely fantastic. When I am away from home and need to access any resource on my Network, I can do so without resorting to finicky methods (Ex: Using a PI). (For the people who cant access local resources with this feature, they need to ENABLE local recourse access lol) It connects 100% of the time and is very reliable. Its basically cheating. This features alone make the Amplifi Lineup have a superiority over anything else out there in terms of consumer options. For Example: I am at work, My kids are at home, and forgot to unblock their devices or I need to check the network Status/ Configuration because they say something isn’t working, etc. This Allows me to do so in a very easy, and timely manner. It is something I never knew I needed. This is also a Fantastic feature and whether you are 10 min away from home or a few states or even a country away, you have access to your local network. Which means all your streaming including Netflix, Hulu, etc are tricked into thinking you are still at home. This also allows it to Bypass Geo Restrictions for traveling! If I am at a StarBucks or a Hotel (or anywhere with sketchy free WiFi for that matter). I am able to use Teleport to keep my information and device safe without paying for a Reliable VPN Service that I wouldn’t use for *most* of the time anyway. Saving me time and money. Now for the 1 “missing” feature. There is not an option or way for the device to connect on its own if it detects you’re not on your Home WiFi Network/ List of WiFi connections. I say WiFi because on cellular it would honestly be obsolete in most cases to teleport, you could manually Teleport if needed on cellular. But say I connect to a WiFi connection, the icing on the top would be for you to have the option to automatically Teleport when its not on your home WiFi Connection or a list of WiFi Connections in a BlackList. This would be an insane feature to add and would definitely not go unnoticed for anyone who uses Teleport. All and all, I was really debating whether to go all out on a UniFi Setup, or an all out Amplifi setup. So far (minus the general missing software configuration options as a whole that Amplifi provides you). I can say with confidence that the Amplifi Alien Lineup really is the way to go for HOME networking. The WiFi 6, the crazy hardware specs, the reliability, the ridiculous quality. everything is top notch. Ive had my Amplifi Alien Tri-Mesh Setup for 8 months now (and I still have to look at them every time I pass them haha). And only 1 time did I resort to a restart (I believe I was DDoS’d to be fair to Ubiquity, they cant control that). My iPhone 12 Pro gets 820mb/s download on a 1GB/s Coax connection. (Because I needed that that for the 30+ devices we always have connected) (If you run a business out of your home or something that has a TON of devices or needs the configuration and security setup, then UniFi may be your best option. They now have WiFi 6 just like the Amplifi Alien... although it took them an extra year to do so).Version: 1.1.3
