✓ Great, needs workI got the top gear rally car as a gift and had a super smooth time connecting with the app. I found the calibration super useful and the manual transmission fun to use. I did have a little problem with the gyro control though, it seemed like the sensitivity was very iffy sometimes I would have to turn my phone all the way to portait mode for a turn and other times it felt like a small bump would make the car turn a lot. One last thing is that control+ should support custom control setups because making things into other things is what Legos all about. I think the mindstorms app is a good example of a good custom control system. I made a tank with my rally car but had to use a third party app to control it. Thanks for your time. ✓ What’s happeningI am building the liebbherr excavator and I have finished packet one and for some reason it’s it is trying to connect to the upper hub instead of the lower hub so we tried it again ... nothing.Version: 1.1.4
✓ Needs some customisationThe sets itself are awesome (or at least the one I have) but I would like it if there were sensitivity controls maybe in the menu where possible. I understand is you can’t do it for some sets but app customisation would be great where possible. (I drive the transformation vehicle by the way) when I use the quick turn feature, it sometimes drives more than necessary. That might be in a older version, but fixing that would be great if LEGO hasn’t fixed it yet. But overall, the app is great..Version: 1.7.5

One problem is that sometimes when I’m using the app for like 10-15 minutes the game crashes and resets all my progress back to when I started playing that day. ✓ It works, but could be betterThe app works. You can control the LEGO sets with it and for the Liebherr excavator it will do calibration. As you build the set you can test the parts you’ve built. One thing that would make the app better is if you could customize it more. For example, I’d like to built a motorized catapult, but you can’t customize the controls. For the Leibherr 4 of the controls for the motors have a limited range because of the pistons, which works well for the build as intended, but if you want to make your own build it can be an issue. Also, as far as I know there’s no way to make the controls ‘sticky’ so you have to hold them down. The app works, but it could be better..Version: 1.4.5

✓ ConfusionIf your Rally Car is not connecting to the app, it may be that you did not insert the 6 batteries required. I encountered this problem. In the engine, underneath, there is a battery compartment. Take out the battery compartment and flip it over to reveal the two sides that should hold 3 double A batteries each. ✓ THIS APP IS SUPER AMAZINGI love that for the different vehicles there are different screens and controls which gives you a different feel to each vehicle so for the 4x4 (I have) it is very simple to use and in a vehicle like that you would simple controls not something like a Nissan skyline GTR and the sound is of the 4x4 AMAZING but for the Top Gear rally car the controls are like you would expect, very racing track like. ✓ Make a pathThe app is really cool, fun to use and good quality but it would be really cool if you can make kind of like a ‘make a path’ so you use your camera to draw a line for your technic vehicle to go but if you make a sharp turn it will calculate where it will actually turn so it wouldn’t be a poor draw a line guide thingy. ✓ Fun But CrashesEnjoying the app with the 4x4 Off-Road, though the app crashes a lot. Sometimes I can only drive for 30 seconds before the app exits. Tried reinstalling. Didn’t help. Seems to happen more when I use the one-touch UI (which is awesome and intuitive BTW). Would like to see more challenges added on a regular basis and maybe more variations in the sounds (maybe ambient sounds like wind or forest). I swapped the gears from 1:3 to 3:1 and now the model climbs like a goat but the faux speedometer and odometer (challenge distances) are way off. Could use a High/Low switch somewhere so we can specify which gearing we are using (since the model seems to have been designed to allow easy swapping of those gears). Every RC car I have ever driven has had forward/reverse with the left thumb, and left/right with the right thumb. This app is the opposite and makes it really difficult to drive. ✓ Great appMy son and I own both the Lego Technic Top Gear Rally Car and the 4x4 X-treme off-roader and we really enjoy using them. The app is really good and do like the feed back you get when using the 4x4 with the dials displaying the angles when attempting a climb. One neat feature that would be great to have is that ability to capture video in the app while driving the vehicle. The only comment I would make is that we both have separate iPads that we use that app on and in both cases the app does have the tendency to crash, otherwise a great app..Version: 1.4.5

✓ Surprising Every Step of the WayI tricked some relatives into getting me the Liebherr Excavator for a major holiday fully expecting either a smarter than average Power Functions or dumber than an average Mindstorms experience. I also expected a lot of Bluetooth headaches. What I got was nothing short of phenomenal. Connections were flawless and painless. Firmware updates were transparent—if long. The model testing along the way barely hinted at what was possible. Ultimately the total package completely blindsided me, but in the best way. The app is flawless: it holds your hand just enough while encouraging exploration through its achievements and rewards. Don’t like multi-touch? They’ve got you covered. While I’d rather use a text editor to program it, you can get somewhat sophisticated dragging control blocks around. And they really undersell the hardware! The app shows you the tilt of the model, updating in real time—but there’s no mention of an accelerometer or gravity sensor anywhere. What other things can it do? I’m certainly curious to get the other Control+ models now! I can’t go 5 stars, though, because the app seems hard-coded for three LEGO models. But LEGO is all about taking things apart and making your own creations too. Yet I can’t find a way to, for example, say that “port A is the release motor on my catapult” if I disassembled the Liebherr and made a steampunk trebuchet, for example. I can rebuild my LEGO bricks, but not the app, I guess..Version: 1.1.0

✓ Best Lego app ever! FlawlessI got the Mercedes Benz Zetros Trial Truck and that thing is a beast! I also got the technic 6-wheeler (which isn’t part of this app) and then made it into a four-wheeler. It’s looks dope with the muscle truck and then the off-roader on the back. Also the connections were flawless and easy and the instruction were easy to follow. (Both the build and the driving) Overall a great Lego product!.Version: 1.7.5

✓ Great App but what about lightsThis app is very very good, the controls are easy to use and it looks good for all models. I now have the Volvo A60H and the Liebherr 9800 and both work flawlessly with the app. I add lights to all of my many many Lego sets including the above two, however I can’t have the lights on while moving the models around using this app as there is no way of connecting them to the hubs. there are a number of companies out there that sell the powered up 2.0 leads with a connector for lights but the hubs/app don’t recognise the connection. It would be very nice if Lego were to produce something that enabled us to get the maximum enjoyment out of our models..Version: 1.4.8
