✓ FUN! But crashy on iOS25 December 2020: runs fine until it crashes on an iPhone XR and an iPad 5 both running iOS 14.3. The app sometimes says the Bluetooth connection was lost, on both devices. Can both devices have that unstable of a connection? Fun gimmick with two iOS devices: prop up an iPhone on the car while FaceTiming to the other iOS device running the control app for a drivers eye view. (May require an iPad in your hands for split screen).Version: 1.4.5
✓ WowJust installed to controls my new Top Gear Lego cor and it was going well, cracking features and loved the interface... then after about 15 seconds of driving it managed to loose connection... fair enough... oh Bluetooth unavailable? Odd... ok let’s restart the phone (11 pro max), nope phone locked up, force restart not working, totally frozen... impressive that Lego managed to release an app that locks even the supposed hardware failsafe on the iPhone. Luckily after about 20 min the phone got so hot it restarted on its own! Waiting for an update before I try again as I don’t want to brick my phone!.Version: 1.1.3
✓ CAT Bulldozer glitchSo I had built the CAT bulldozer and I’ve found a bug where whenever I try to properly connect it, things are not properly synced up. I try to program one part of the set but I moves another part. I’ve tried moving the blade of the set but it always moves the ladder. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app several times, checking the wires to the battery box, and even trying to use the app on a different device and still having the same issue. The app is great but this glitch is making it impossible for me to enjoy this set to its fullest. ✓ Off-Road BuggyThe interface for the RC Buggy makes it super difficult to drive with just one toggle. I find myself running into things and not be able to drive where I want and I think if there were at least the option to have a gas pedal with a separate toggle to steer. I’m crashing into things more than actually driving and it’s becoming so frustrating I don’t want to drive it anymore, but it’s such a fun looking car that I don’t want to..Version: 1.4.5

✓ Extreme 4x4 buildJust rebuilt the third attempt to get all four wheels to drive. Manual is missing a step which connects drive rod from motor to front drive cogs. Had to canabalise another set to get a connector that fit the space. Seems to be from Step 82 (red rod) doesn’t connect to front drive cogs. Otherwise a good model and years ahead of the previous infra ref controls.Version: 1.1.0

✓ Swipe to change controls is a bad idea.For the most part the app works well for using the 4x4 truck. No connection issues. But the swipe to change from regular driving controls to overhead is SUPER annoying. The swipe to switch is too similar to the inputs required to drive the the truck. If my thumbs miss the controls just slightly It interprets my input as a swipe and switches to the overhead control. Really really annoying. Just make it a button..Version: 1.1.3

✓ Won’t let us drive the carWhen we get on to the app and turned on bluetooth it will say push green button. Unfortunately my son and daughter have been trying for the past hour to start driving the car. We tried using different batteries, we have looked several times to see if the batteries were in there correct position, deleting and reinstalling the app and going on to the LEGO.com site but it had no information on how to get it to start. Also no matter how many times we tried holding and pushing the green button it never worked. Disappointed that I have spent so much time and money on this car that won’t even work! 🙁.Version: 1.1.4

Whoever designed that needs to go back to class to learn how to design a proper control stick. They added a brake but didn’t think a “gas” pedal next to it would be a good idea? ✓ It... sort of works.1. The drive slider is on the right, and the steering slider is on the left. This is the opposite of how a real remote is set up. 2. The steering sometimes turns all the way to one side without input. It stays that way until you give it an input. 3. The fake speedometer and tachometer. They don’t show real measurements, so why should they take up space on the screen? 4. The battery level indicator is extremely inaccurate. It is very difficult to measure battery level in alkaline batteries, so why have the (next to useless) battery level indicator?.Version: 1.0.1

✓ App does not connectI have been building the Liebherr for a long time now. When I test my model, there is a firmware update. However, when I try to update it, the hub shuts off and refuses to connect. It only works with sets from Lego. Very surprising that Lego wouldn’t make it customizable. ✓ Lego Needs Physical ControllerThe app is neat and offers a lot of of functionality. It’s not ideal for all models as the touch controllers are not always as responsive as you would expect or layout is not logical. These models costs a lot of money and it’s long overdue for real control. Relying on virtual apps makes me concerned for the longevity of the investment. If Lego stops supporting this app or the Bluetooth protocol changes in a way that makes it incompatible - your investment is now a brick..Version: 1.6.0
✓ One handed grrrrI don’t know at what point it changed but you can swipe left for one handed controls, which are terrible. Now when you use the 2 handed method it constantly swaps every time you turn left as it assumes swiping. Other than that I guess you can’t blame the app for the incredibly lacklustre model performance... but custom controls for moc’s should be a no brainer?! ✓ Unintuitive ControlsI own the new RC Buggy and was looking forward to using the app with it, but when I got it connected, I found the controls very difficult to use. Whenever I wish to turn the vehicle, it often times stops completely and reverses direction because my finger went down far enough to do so, since both gas and steering are on the same button. This makes the car almost unusable if you need a lot of steering. There should definitely be a toggle option to two separate controls, one for steering and one for gas, with the other fun buttons in the middle of the screen instead. Please consider this solution as I don’t want to have to return the buggy because of bad controls, of all things. The app also crashes when you are in your first battle match and are losing, preventing you from getting any further..Version: 1.4.6
✓ Really well made, bad controlsFirst of all, the app is great, simple, easy to use, it links up to the lego hub EXTREMELY easy. Lego has really done well with making using the app and the lego together almost flawless in my experience. The only problem is that the controls for using the buggy is extremely hard to use. Having one joystick that controls all movement is hard, please for the love of all legos at least add the option to have two joysticks to control the buggy. Basically I’m a 27 year old who wants the option for more control and less sound effect buttons and I’m taking two stars because it really does take away a major portion of the experience in my opinion. ✓ You asked me for my rating, so here it is.The controls for the 4X4 X-treme Off-Roader are counter-intuitive. Driving forward/back is on the right, and steering is on the left, which is the opposite of how every other remote control car works (including the LEGO Crawler from 2012). The app crashes often, and it takes quite a while to load. The steering is glitchy. It sometimes steers the car without any input (although this problem exists with other apps as well, so this is most likely an issue with the Technic hub, not the app itself). And finally, the thing that made me write this review: The app interrupted me while I was controlling the car and asked me to rate the app. I have In-App Ratings & Reviews turned off in Settings, so not only is this super annoying, but it’s also against Apple’s guidelines. This app should be removed from the App Store until LEGO removes this..Version: 1.4.8
✓ Apparently nobody tested this appAfter each step, the instructions ask you to test the build so far. The person that decided that didn’t talk to the person who decided you have to hook up all of the motors to get the units to connect, so of course the tests won’t work after step 2. ✓ Works but needs more customisable functionsWorks fine but we need to be able to create custom panels and setup for our own Mocs otherwise we just have an expensive remote control toy. Not sure if it’s doable but if the module knows the motor position it would be good to be able to go to a particular position in the sequencer rather than 5% down or up as I found with the leibherr the sequencer was a bit useless as moving the boom really depends on where it is before you start the sequence. LEGO could do worse than look at the sbrick profiler for an idea on the customisable panels..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Bug Prevents Testing of Step 2Like another reviewer, I’m experiencing and older bug that prevents me from progressing past step 2. The app keeps resetting the connection to the hub installed during parts set 2 (the top, second hub). Deleting and reinstalling the app did not fix it. I can connect and test for step 1 but not step 2. According to a search this was a bug introduced last year that was supposedly fixed. ✓ Cannot use with liebherrMid build tests went fine, once I finished the build it calibrated the movements ok and when calibration finished the digger arm went back into position but just kept driving the bucket tilt actuators to their fuel extent and clicked gears, then when I go to drive the thing the left joystick pressed up or down activates both the arm extend and bucket tilt and the right joystick does the same, seems there is something wrong with the app communicating with the hub telling it to activate the wrong motors, if I use the BuWizz app everything works as it should..Version: 1.4.7

✓ Too Slow to respondNot at all responsive enough to control a vehicle of any speed, but at the same time, it’s way too sensitive. The control sticks need a much bigger control area, and maybe a dead area in the middle. Trying to drive using one joystick is impossible as you can separate steering from throttle - you always get a bit of both, even if just trying to drive in a straight line. You’d think the control sticks would fix this issue but the sticks in dual control mode are the wrong way around (every rc I’ve ever driven have had throttle on the left and steering on the right) an option to choose your layout would help..Version: 1.7.2

✓ 4x4 articulating dumper truck(yellow)I got the set as a present and it built lovely. Installed the app and it worked lovely. Nice to see all my hard work come to life. It was also handy as I’ve the top gear rally car. After about a week. I went to show someone it working and it needed a firmware update. Done the update and then it was like it came alive on its own. The controls became unresponsive. Can any one remember those flipping singing fish that flaps when you walk past. This unit went like that on its own. Even videoed it and sent to Lego. They blamed me a few times it was a builders error and to check all was built correctly(which I know it was) but I double checked. After around 40-50 back and thro emails. The issue is still not sorted. They even sent me a replacement main unit to sort it. But nope. I’ve now got to pay to send the unit back to Denmark. Not happy. I’ve paid a lot of money for this truck and expected it to work fully for longer. If it was a cheap model I wouldn’t of minded as much but nearly £160 for this is really disheartening as I can’t use it. I’m sorry it’s come to this posting on the apps page but not having much joy through Lego tech help. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just a localised thing. Hope to get more help here. ✓ Won’t connectThis app is pure garbage, purchased the LIEBHERR set. Hub won’t connect to my iPhone 11 or 3 other iPads of various generations. Can get the hub to connect fine via power up app and it even updated firmware. Hub connects to my laptop fine, have pressed green button for reset, done brand new batteries, hub shows connected on iPhone Bluetooth screen yet app keeps trying to connect to test part one of the build, green status bar goes half across and then goes back to beginning until it times out and then asks for green button press again. Tried second hub same issue, have checked right cables in right port and all correct. Now have expensive LEGO set that is a static model, have reached out to LEGO but had no assistance, thinking about contacting fair trading for a refund on the set as was bought for kids to control and play with once I built it and I now have an expensive static model!.Version: 1.1.0
