LEGO® Super Mario™ for Negative User Reviews

Instructions great but bring back whole set viewsThe instructions are great and my son has no problem using them. However, the app has taken away the ability to see all the courses on the Home Screen and instead builds a short course from your existing pieces. It’s such a shame not to have all the sets visible in one place or at least be able to add more pieces to the custom build. Please bring this feature back..Version: 2.4.0

Lego Mario set no physical instructionsCool set but really wish there were some physical instructions, even if the digital or online ones were still available why not keep the physical for us old school builders..Version: 2.3.0

Gotta be kidding meSo I pay for a Lego kit, then I need to spend way to long fr|gging around with this ridiculous app, checking device compatibility etc so my kid can build his Xmas gift? You bothered to put a paper booklet that advertises how to play with the product, you might as well put actual instructions in it. Get bent, this is absurd..Version: 2.3.0

Bad update killed MarioHi Lego, I just did the latest update for Mario and now Mario just crashes when trying to connect him with Bluetooth. The phone sees that he is there but Mario just gets stuck on 3 dots and then the phone just goes back to the main menu screen but Mario is not connected and is stuck with 3 dots and so you have to turn him off and on again and play off line to the utter disappointment for my 6yr old son who just got the Yoshi set and now can’t interact with it. Not good lego, please advise how to fix this issue. Thank you..Version: 2.0.3

CrashThe app keeps crashing when I’m building my sets I hope you guys can fix that.Version: 2.3.0

App not workingI bought 2 sets. The starter and bowsers castle. I managed to build the starter set. But a few days later I came to build the castle. I tried to get on the app and it just keeps crashing on me. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it. But it still doesn’t work. Personally I think Lego should stick to paper instructions because 1. We want our kids to get away from technology and 2. Not every child has technology to get the instructions. And it’s not fair to them kids. Who love Mario and Lego. I can’t really review the app due to not getting on it.Version: 1.3.9

Crash after crash after crashHave bought my sons first Mario lego sets for Christmas and they are rendered useless by how bad this app is. It has not loaded at all for the past two days, have taken all the steps that are on the support website. Still no luck. Thank go we didn’t have any of those horrible paper instructions in the box, or we may have actually been able to build something. I would suggest if you want to take away the paper instruction it would be better to make sure you have an app that works..Version: 1.3.9

The updates always seems to make things worse. It used to work great until they updated it. Since the update it has been very difficult to get Mario connected via bluetooth. The app itself doesn’t appear to work correctly as the Home Screen more about adds than anything else. Mine used to show off all the sets I owned and when adding a new set would have a fun little animation. Now I add a set and I’m not actually sure if it’s really been added, the main screen shows random sections of sets sort of strung together, none of which makes any sense. I hope they fix it soon and might be worth spending a little extra time making sure the next update is right before applying it to the masses….Version: 2.0.3

Impossible to use the app - it crashesIt is simply frustrating to use the app. It is too big and crashes even in my brand new phone..Version: 1.3.9

Bad stuff(ᗒᗣᗕ)՞When you open the site on mobile it lags you out.Version: 1.2.10

Bluetooth issueThe Mario has been great fun for all of us but recently we have had problems where the mario won’t function properly after the new update. It’s been going on for a while now where the Bluetooth icon will repeatedly pop up on the characters belly screen and won’t go away. We have tried restarting the Mario, logging in and out and trying the app on other devices! Not sure what to do so it’s looking like we’ll have to buy a new one if the problem isn’t fixed..Version: 2.0.4

Not working as it wasApp was working fine until a recent update. Now your built sets are not appearing on the map, Mario crashes/freezes frequently, colours of bricks on instructions can be inverted, buttons on the app tend to disappear and for some reason Mario won’t connect to our iPad but will to the iPhone. Given the price of the sets I really hope they get this issues fixed soon..Version: 2.0.4

The app needs to be fixed ASAP (Don’t give a answer bot response)It seems I’m not the only one who is having problems with Lego Mario. Lego Mario will not update. When I try it says an error occurred. When I turn it on all it shows is the connect Bluetooth screen and Mario is looking at it gritting his teeth. Like he’s gonna kill someone. He doesn’t say lego Mario time for some reason and when I turned it off it turns off without saying see you later. It’s quite terrifying. I don’t like that the sets don’t appear anymore when you scan them. Nothing works. No goomba stomping no yoshi talking no bowser clomping no nothing. The connect lego Mario screen is quite buggy as well. I have only had one other time that an app was this buggy. It needs to be fixed. The only reason that it’s not one star is because it’s a huge glitch and the app itself is great. Plx fix.Version: 2.0.4

Level Mixer Doesn’t WorkThe new Level Mixer displays a number of random characters and not all the numerous sets built and displayed in previous versions of the app. When I speak to support I’m told it’s “good news” that the sets are still preserved, but that’s no good if you can’t actually see them. The support team keep advising me to hit refresh and the sets will come back, but this just brings up another set of random characters, and are unable to provide a solution..Version: 2.0.5

Luigi stops working when trying to connect to appSo i purchased the Luigi starter pack and he was ok until trying to connect to the app and now he won’t work at all. I returned the first pack after trying to connect, including uninstalling the app and reinstalling, new batteries etc. Now the second one has done exactly the same. I know how to connect as i have the Mario one and have had for some time but Luigi just wont work and for the price i find this annoying..Version: 2.0.5

Very inventive LEGO concept, just a bit rough round the edgesThe whole interactive game aspect was a very unusual but creative choice by LEGO, but i have a few problems with it: The app is required for instructions and requires a huge amount of storage space to install. When you have both Mario and Luigi (and possibly even worse when Peach comes out later this year) it’s a pain to update them both, when i first got luigi in August 2021 I had to get a replacement because the first one corrupted and would not update. The new system which doesn’t show your course collection is glitchy and annoying, the whole course generation doesn’t work properly. Besides these issues, lego mario is a very inventive and fun concept!.Version: 2.3.5

Do research before you buy.I love the sets and I have the starter pack, Bowsers castle (super awesome) the Yoshi And Monty mole expansions. I do wish that they provided an instruction booklet with the sets so my sons would not have to use our phones or devices. We use Legos as a family distraction from devices and my kids have a dedicated playroom pretty much solely dedicated to their legos. I’m hoping that lego and Nintendo collaborate on a Lego/Mario Cart Live version (as a side note) I also wish they would launch a Luigi and Princess expansion. The app needs a little work and building sets is a little more work without the booklets. I definitely would not recommend for parents wanting their kids to unplug and for the littles you have to be with them pretty much the whole time to halo them navigate the app to build..Version: 1.3.9

Great... until LUIGI arrivedThis app worked great with everything we had purchased and we had never experienced any issues... then we bought the Luigi starter set and updated the app. Every set we own has been deleted off the app, and NEITHER Mario NOR Luigi now work at all! The app told me that both needed to be updated, and when I tried to do it both froze completely to the point where I needed to take their batteries out..Version: 2.0.5

Why do I have to download a 2gb app to build a set?!I bought one of the sets because it looked cool and might as well. I come home and open it had no instructions. Whatever so I go to download the app, which is 2gbs. So I go to the lego instructions app which has all the instructions for their sets, and k see the same thing telling me to download this app. I am very annoyed that I have to download a 2gb app to build a set. And I go to the app and it's just an animated instruction manual that could have been on the other lego app. I hated the instructions, I would have just preferred a manual, digital at least. Just annoying that I cant use the other app to build any of the sets. Update: The website lead to the paper inside the box telling me that the free instructions are the Lego super Mario app. Not very useful..Version: 2.3.7

Disappointing - constantly crashingThe app continually and frustratingly crashes. We cannot even open the app at the moment without it crashing. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app which has made no difference and have also tried closing all other apps [not that we should have to do this] and it it still doesn’t run correctly. Given that there have been multiple negative reviews due to this same issue it is very poor that it has not yet been resolved. This is extremely frustrating, especially as the app is required for building instructions. You should really be able to play with a toy like Lego without having to turn another screen on!.Version: 1.3.9

Frustrated parentI got my son the Mario legos not knowing all the instructions were on the app. Spent a day downloading the app which was the start of my frustration as it took longer than expected to download and my 5 yr old had to wait. Once the app was finally ready it was very easy to use. My son was able to figure it out and had a blast making his legos. However I tried yesterday multiple times throughout the day to open it for my son to work on another set and the app kept shutting down. It would never stay open for longer than 3 seconds. My son and I were sad because we wanted to build all night for New Year’s Eve. Tried again this morning and the app won’t open. This is very frustrating and I don’t understand why it doesn’t work anymore..Version: 1.3.9

Buggy, huge, yet we’re relying on itThis app is needed for instructions of sets (and other really cool extras) yet we get through one pack of the Desert Pokey and it won’t continue on, just boots back to the main scene. Also a HUGE app, taking up most space on our iPad. Not a great experience when there’s no other way..Version: 1.4.2

Could have been better if they added warioThey could have had wario.Version: 2.7.1

App crashingApp is generally pretty good. Would be good to add functionality which allows easy editing/removing of sets from the map. Was using the app (this morning) without issue on an iPad Pro running iPadOS 14.3. However, after updating the app today to version 1.3.9 it now won’t start up properly and just crashes after selecting the green “Start!” pipe (on the first startup screen of app). No other apps are running in the background either..Version: 1.3.9

Mario connection problemsI used the app to build my track and it worked perfectly but then when I came to connect the Mario my phone had said it had connected but on the Mario screen it has a phone icon with a flashing Bluetooth symbol and I cannot get it to leave this screen which means the Mario won’t do anything else and won’t work on the Mario Lego track that I have made do you have any suggestions for what I can do to get it to work.Version: 2.3.3

Broken appCan’t sync. Can’t login. Tried everything. I either can’t sync in app after login or it will get stuck on the 3 white dots during app startup. The dot dot dot animation never gives way to starting the app as in being able to enter the green pipe during loading. Just three white dots indefinitely. Please help!? Edit: after troubleshooting I was told by LEGO support this is an issue I have to wait to be patched as apparently they are aware of it and working on a fix. July 04th 2022.Version: 2.4.1

Will not openI cannot get this app to open on either my iPad or phone without it crashing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted iPad and phone and killed all other background apps. Whenever I press start the screen turns black and the app crashes. This means the set my boy bought himself in lockdown is no use and the set he has had for Christmas he cannot even build as he isn’t able to access the app for the instructions. This combined with a double figure in his lego Harry Potter advent has resulted in an upsetting year of lego 🥲.Version: 1.3.9

FrustratingThe app spends ages downloading but every time I try to open it, it just starts downloading again! To say this is frustrating is an understatement. My son has opened his brand new Lego set, very excited to build it but now he can’t. Why on Earth would you use an app for Lego instructions? My son is 6, he doesn't have have a device to use so would have to use my phone just to be able to build his Lego set! I feel like this is a complete backwards step Lego..Version: 2.3.5

Suddenly started crashingWe purchased a few sets for our son for Christmas and the app was working fine up until yesterday when it suddenly started crashing when trying to enter the build instructions. Have checked the compatibility of our devices on the lego website and have the came issues with listed devices..Version: 1.3.9

CrashesCrashes often. Slow to load..Version: 1.2.10

Hopeless appCrashes so often it’s pointless, but more annoying so given you need it to build the actual sets. A good idea ruined by a finicky app.Version: 1.3.9

Good app when its not glitchy and when it doesn’t crashWhen i go into the app it just takes me out of the app and it is not the ipad because i have tried it on lots of different devices. Its really good at teaching you how to bild lego but it is really glity. Now i can’t bild the amazing lego because of the app. Please fix it people who made the app, because im sad that i can’t bild my lego..Version: 1.3.9

Great when it works, which isn’t oftenThis is all my son wanted for Christmas as as such, myself and all his family bought him sets. He built the 1st one and then another expansion only to find that we can no longer open the app to build anymore. Ive tried everything including deleting app and reinstalling it and resetting my phone and it still won’t open. So now my son has 6 Lego sets that he is unable to build or play with. Go back to paper booklets as a backup as my son is heartbroken.Version: 1.3.9

Latest update has killed the appSince the latest update I am unable to open the app. It starts up but I am then left with 3 flashing dots on the start pipe forever. No matter how long I wait it never allows me to enter the app. I have tried to log out and in again but that doesn’t help. I really do not want to uninstall the app as I have nearly all the released sets added and built as well as loads of “courses” photographed and saved my son has built. The app has worked perfectly since the very first starter set was released but now is useless. UPDATE. By logging out at the title screen, restarting the app and waiting for the ‘start’ green pipe to come up I am now able to enter the app again and all data has been retained fortunately. I am able to login successfully from the ‘connect Mario’ screen and it then says synced successfully. However this brings me to a major flaw in the app and syncing with a Lego account. When I log in with the same account on another phone or iPad absolutely no data is transferred over. The app just wants to start from scratch with no sets added and no saved courses. What is the point in having an account and login if it can’t even do a basic transfer between devices? At least give the option to backup the data to iCloud so it can be moved from one device to another!.Version: 2.3.6

Only supports iOS 13 and aboveI bought a second hand iPad mini 3 for my kids to use which is on iOS 12. All the kids apps work expect for this one. I was offered an older version of the app which I installed but it just crashes and is impossible to connect to my lego account. Please continue to support older iPads. I spend all my money on lego. I can’t afford a new iPad..Version: 2.0.7

Constant CrashingI can’t even begin to say how many times this app crashes when you’re trying to build! It’s so frustrating! I have the latest update for my iPad and the latest update for the app, doesn’t help! This needs to be resolved by the developers?! Also, where did Mario’s world go? Before, you scanned in the pack you recently received and it made a “little” world, now it’s just a line of the packs you have but doesn’t show you what pack it is like it used to. Originally I thought this was a great app and it is for a bit of play with Mario and Luigi but to use it to help build it’s annoying. Resolve these issues and I’d be more than happy to increase the star rating!.Version: 2.3.0

Crashes, lost data, and video lagThe app sometimes crashes when finishing a step, but the video demos are the worst. I can stream Netflix or HD video, but a 15 second clip of a toy freezes or loses frames and doesn’t playback smoothly even once. Sometimes the app crashes after completing a step. Also, the sets I bought just plain don’t show up. I don’t know if this feature was removed, the data was lost in an update, or what. This points to the app integration being more trouble than it’s worth. I can’t build until I’ve charged my iPad, updated the app, and installed the Mario/Luigi firmware. Just get out of the way and let me build..Version: 2.0.7

Great toys, app needs attentionMy son and I have built almost every Lego super Mario set. Literally. These toys are absolutely wonderful. Every time we get a new set the old ones come back out and provide hours of great, fun, imaginative play. My son really loves that the instructions are on the app. When new sets are released he goes through the instructions over and over so that, by the time his birthday rolls around and he gets a new set, he is already quite familiar with the build. The problem is that it is often really hard to connect Mario and Luigi to the phone. I have an iPhone XR, and it has no problem connecting to Bluetooth devices routinely. But, especially when it is time to update the firmware on Mario and Luigi, they won’t connect to the app, or, they’ll connect but they won’t complete their updates. My son actually hates to “scan” in a new set because connecting Mario or Luigi is so often a cause for significant delays. I hoped that Lego would have sorted this out by now, but it seems not to be so. I suppose they will keep getting my money, and the money of my friends and family, because these toys are awesome. But I hope they fix the issues with the connection soon! Frustrated dad.Version: 2.3.0

Nice ideas but a painFirst, I really resent having to get a screen out with Lego - the whole point of Lego is to get children away from screens. As for the app itself, there are some nice ideas and it’s visually appealing, but it’s slow to load and sometimes crashes on builds. Also, you have to go through every step before you can go on to the next, which means having Mario on and connected throughout. I’m also slightly suspicious it’s acting as an advert for the other sets - again, not something you want to be putting in front of children necessarily..Version: 1.1.6

Help me plsThe app is very useful and fun but when lego mario and lego luigi are connected together and balance luigi's starting level both display a screen on their stomachs. What can I do ?.Version: 2.3.0

Lego please never try smart app things, you are not good on that partNot good at all, useless app.Version: 2.0.4

Great!…….when it actually works. This app is becoming extremely frustrating. It worked great for awhile. Then I have no idea what happened. All my sons sets disappeared and nothing wants to scan back in. I’ve tried EVERYTHING! Deleting and re-installing the app. Resetting Mario. Resetting all the sets. Turning on and off Bluetooth. Nothing is working!!!!! The sets won’t scan back in. There is only one set when we open the app and it is in a straight line not the usual layout. Please fix this!!!!!! Legos are the only thing my autistic child is interested in right now and they are helping him so much with being verbal and narrating things and helping him with his dexterity. Please. Please. Please fix this..Version: 2.0.3

What happened to the dioramas?Up until the last couple of patches, my son and I have loved this app. We’ve collected almost all of the first two waves of the lego Mario sets. His favorite part of the experience has been coming home and scanning the set after being built so he could see the diorama that would pop up on screen. Now that experience is gone. He’s no longer near as excited to buy the next wave of toys. I told him maybe they will patch that back in but it has yet to happen. He asks daily if they have “fixed” the app yet and unfortunately I have to keep giving the bad news. If this was still available the app would definitely get 5 stars..Version: 2.0.6

Awful after updateThis app became very unstable and really laggy after the update which removed the map of the sets that you own and replaced it with a screen that tries to produce a small course based on your parts which lets be honest is rubbish as it never loads most of the time. A developer claimed that as they add more sets, the map would struggle which again I think is incorrect as a 2D map would look as good as the old 3d one and wouldn’t take much resource on the iPad at all as it’s just an image. I really wish that the devs would just listen to the feedback and put the map back as its was great to see what sets you owned. Also the amount of times that this app crashed is insane. Does anyone actually test this app???? Just got Bowsers airship and it crashed easily around 50 times during the build and the videos stutter and struggle to play. Again all this came about after the apps revamp. Customers have to use this app for the building instructions and at the moment the app is horrendous. Please listen and put this back how it was and fix the bugs!.Version: 2.3.0

Love Lego Mario, but update poorThis latest update is disappointing, firstly it’s not made clear you have to update Lego Mario before he’ll connect. Even then a few connectivity issues. Secondly, a sudden change to the map ( where you can see the sets you have bought) is really upsetting to my son who is autistic. He cried because of this change. I wish more thought and consideration would go into these sudden changes and how they may effect people who are autistic etc. My son loves Mario Lego, but Lego you took what was a brilliant app and ruined it..Version: 2.0.4

Great App but having trouble with Lego LuigiI have been experiencing issues today trying to connect Lego Luigi to the app. Every time I try to do so, he freezes when he’s about to connect and it’s getting really annoying constantly having to take the batteries out and put them back in just to turn him on properly again. I don’t know if I’m the only one having this issue, or if anyone else is too, but if you can, please fix this as I want to connect Luigi to the app..Version: 2.0.4

App ok but logging in makes it not work, missing some expected featuresBeing logged in to my Lego account when I open the app makes the Start pipe text turn to a few dots, and tapping it does nothing. I have to log out of my account to be able to “Start” the app. Logging in after I’ve done that seems to work, in terms of being able to connect to the Lego Mario toy and use other features, but when I log in it puts me back at zero coins instead of loading my history, so that part can be pretty frustrating. It doesn’t seem like it’s doing what it’s supposed to. Other than that the app has useful features, like the instructions and the randomiser. People should be told that the instructions don’t give you a complete walkthrough of a setup, just how to assemble separate components. Some personality types may be frustrated that the instructions don’t get them to what’s pictured on the box. One feature I liked is being able to name and save your adventures/levels, but I expected to be able to select them again in the future when we build the same thing. I couldn’t find a way to do that. All in all, the app is useful, but in terms of game play, it adds more frustration than usefulness, compared to just playing with the Lego Mario toy with the set..Version: 2.3.7

Like it, but why are you forced to use an app?!I like the concept of using apps to build Lego sets, but there is one major flaw with this: there isn’t a physical option for this. Whenever I build a new Lego set I get for Christmas, I like listening to music or watching things on my phone while I build. The app plays really, stupidly annoying music in the background and I can’t figure out where or how to turn it off. I would love these sets way more if it just came with a traditional book that actually tells me how to build it. EVERYTIME I open the app it asks for my age. Overall, I think this app has some dumb problems that could just be so easily fixed..Version: 2.6.0

Bluetooth and missing piecesI got Lego Mario in 2020 for my son and he loved it! But when he got his second set, everything went downhill. His set had over 10 missing pieces. This got him really mad and stopped building it for 2 years. So we tried Bluetooth connection and to this day, our Lego Mario is still broken. You can still turn it off, but when you turn it back on, it reveals Mario with this creepy smile you can’t get rid of. Please fix this, Mario is such a great theme, but it has many problems..Version: 2.6.1

Bring back old mapPlease bring back the old option so we can see all our sets on the map. My kids miss being able to see it and lay it out as it was on there as they like following it and making it the same.Version: 2.0.6

Really cool but..I like it a lot but why can’t there be real instructions in the Mario sets that’s my only complaint but still it’s a good app.Version: 2.7.0

CrashesKeeps crashing when trying to open. Trying uninstall/install to try fixing it. Can’t use building instructions if it doesn’t work.Version: 1.3.9

What the heck!?!?! 2GB!!!!Seriously why is this app 2GB!!!.Version: 2.3.0

Very badI just want to say today is 20 April and the update has come and it is still crashing come on really every time I put the app it takes like at least an hour of my time waiting for it and at the end it crashes and goes to home page really really and that’s why I’m gonna give you a 0 star..Version: 2.3.6

Adult verificationTo set up adult verification, the app wants an adult account setup. No issues there except when it prompted me to input a credit card number and my license number. I do not trust giving my personal details to a 3rd party online, so I will not be using this app and will be returning the product we purchased, as we can not get the assembly instructions with out the app..Version: 2.0.1

Map creations not showingThe map of all my purchases / creations is not showing after the most recent update. Each set / character I have bought is ticked green but not showing on the map - probably the most exciting thing about the app for my 5 yr old..Version: 2.0.4

“I’m the pro crasher boi!”What on earth is wrong with this app?!?! Very laggy, very crashy..Version: 2.0.0

Mario crashMario needed an update, this resulted in multiple crashes of Mario. After factory resetting and trying different iPads (after ensuring up to date iOS and turning on and off Bluetooth) the update still gets to the end and Mario crashes. The result is a Mario that when trying to connect gets to 3 dots and then freezes and crashes and cannot connect to the app. I have noted other people saying the same thing which suggests poor app testing prior to release. Now I am left with a Mario that won’t work and a 5 year old that can’t understand why he can’t play with it..Version: 2.0.3

Love the sets, app can use workEdit; Update We still hate the level mixer. Change it back to where it showed all the sets on the screen. Lego super Mario sets are great. My 5yr old loves them and they are rather fun to play with him. However he (and I) both don’t care for the new Home Screen. He loved how it was before where he could see all the sets he had laid out on the Home Screen. They each had their own little theme and he could scroll around and see them. Now they have where little bits from different sets line up in a row and never does it actually show the whole sets. He has to go to the instructions page to see what sets he has. We both really enjoyed look at the older Home Screen compared to the new one. The new one is just boring..Version: 2.0.6

L’application ne se telecharge pasMes enfants sont infiniment déçus. Le code QR ne fonctionne pas ni l’application en ce lendemain de Noël. On ressaiera plus tard….Version: 2.3.0

Used to work Great! This app used to be fully functional on my iPad Air 2. We could see my sons digital collection and everything ran smoothly. Now after a few updates, it’s super LAGGY & Glitchy and we can no longer see my sons digital collection. Like NONE OF IT. Why can’t things just WORK? It’s crazy how they don’t keep up with older systems. I have a feeling that most of us will get left behind in a push by the establishment to keep us buying new technology every year. I for one am tired of this! I would like to continue to use what I have but it seems that as they upgrade it’s only made to fix problems for people with newer products. It’s rather frustrating! How hard can it possibly be to allow the older systems to be functional? An iPad Air 2 should still be allowed to be used and function properly. We are using 14.4.2 version. If this can be resolved for people like us that don’t toss out their technology every year that would be great! Otherwise it would be nice to just get the paper build instructions for mario lego sets if they can’t resolve issues for everyone across all platforms..Version: 2.0.7

Just another thing for screensIt would be nice to have paper instructions for kids so there’s not another thing they need a screen for..Version: 2.8.1

What’s wrong with an instruction book? Why do you make customers download a 2G app when all you need to do is simply include an instruction book with your product? Just feels like forceful downloading of an app for the developer’s benefit cause all the reasons listed by the developers for creating this app seem ridiculous for the hassle we need to go through.Version: 2.3.0

Good when its not crashing all the timeLove the lego Mario series. When the app works its great, but unfortunately it keeps crashing every so often. I run a 1st Gen iPad Air so should really be good enough to run the app. I always get crashes when instructions are loading or after a course is completed. Would be 5/5 if it didn’t crash so much. Hope they fix these issues on older iPads soon..Version: 1.1.6

App crashesApp crashes, very slow, barely loads before it crashes.Version: 1.2.10

Lego Mario keeps freezingHonestly I was pretty excited when I got the Lego Mario starter set but was pretty disappointed when the Mario figure wouldn’t connect to Bluetooth. In more detail, the figure would connect to Bluetooth via the app but would freeze at third dot on Mario’s belly. The entire figure would freeze and stop functioning that even a factory reset couldn’t fix it. I was really disappointed and am planning on returning the Lego Mario set if it won’t function any time soon. Please help me resolve this issue as I’m not really happy on how much I had to pay for a product that can’t even function properly..Version: 2.0.3

Love the toy, however...What kind of imbeciles wouldn’t put instructions in the box. The app is currently broken and so now I have been left to trawl the internet for instructions for this fiddly mess. Be better. Have the videos available online. The pdf download is a joke. Once more, be better..Version: 1.3.9

Fun! But…Hi! I’m a Mario fan and I love doing this with my brother! There is a few things missing that would be fun though… : 1- so the online thing is quite fun, but there’s no way to chat, comment, follow, or really interact with anyone at all except ❤️s and ⭐️s. And you don’t even know you get it until you check that project! It might be a safety thing though, and that’s alright. 2-when you put on a power outfit (like bee Mario, or cat Mario) and you put it on Luigi, it doesn’t show on the picture! But it does when you do Mario, it’s honestly kind of annoying, because it still works on Luigi. 3- sometimes it says ‘picture not approved’ because it’s blurry! Is it an AI checking it? I would like the actual creator to approve or disapprove of the pictures. 4- it would be easier if there where words to the tutorials, like, “this block has 5 dots, that’s how you can find it” because sometimes pieces are really similar and hard to tell which is correct. Really, it’s pretty great! It’s safe and appropriate, and there’s no gore. I would still recommend it if you like Mario and building, and I love how when you connect them it tracks your course and coins, that is really fun. So if you’re reading this, don’t focus on the bad things please, try to focus on the good things I’ve said (but note the bad things too, just to keep in mind ^^) Alright! Bye thanks for reading my review 😁.Version: 2.8.0

This sucksLego is a great fun game and it’s great for children not being on their electronics but now with the instructions on electronics they’re not only staring at a bright screen but I also have to get an app.Version: 2.7.0

My LEGO Mario STILL ISN’T WORKING!I know other people have been experiencing this exact same problem of the Mario getting frozen or Bluetooth not working or something like that. I’ve tried everything to get my LEGO Mario to stop freezing up, but nothing works. Even the app update doesn’t help. When I cut the Mario on, he starts with his usual:” Lego Mario Time!” But when I try to connect it to Bluetooth (which is enabled for the app, by the way.) to play a play challenge or build a set, it tells me LEGO Mario is connected, but then his screen freezes up on the four complete loading dots and then says it’s disconnected. I don’t know if the update isn’t working, if it’s just a simple bug, or I just flat out broke my LEGO Mario. I would love to hear your feedback on this and I guarantee many other people would too..Version: 2.0.4

Doesn’t mix added setsThe set mixing button only rearranges the starter set and doesn’t include the other added sets. The other sets have been confirmed as added with the green tick but the mixing button doesn’t include them. Other than providing build instructions for the sets the app doesn’t do anything else with the sets liking mixing them for you or letting you create your own arrangements as it says it does. The trouble shooting guide is not helpful as dispite following its steps the app just doesn’t do what it should.Version: 2.3.1

Short SightedIf this was an app for adults there would be no issue, but this is an app for kids, and I think it is very short sighted to expect that kids have the latest devices. Most kids get their parents hand me downs for devices. There is no reason that this app could not be developed to encompass iOS 11 or 12, this is not or at least it should not be a resource heavy app, do better Lego. The app works great on Mac OS 14, which I now have to hand off to my kid to play with...not ideal..Version: 1.2.10

Lags and battery timeSometimes it lags and it’s annoying and I could only build half my bowser castle set and my iPad dies!.Version: 1.3.9

Mario keeps crashingFirst of all, I really strongly enjoy the lego mario sets, and I love building these sets and playing them out. However, as of the most recent update, I can’t get mario to connect to my tablet nor my phone. Any time I attempt to connect, after pressing the blutooth button on mario, he makes a noise and his screen shows the 4 dots like normal, but then all of a sudden, he freezes. Mario’s screen won’t change, he won’t make noise, and he can’t even be turned off with the power button. The only rhing I can do is remove the batteries to reset him, and I can bo longer connect him to my Ipad. The same issue happens when I try to connect bim to my phone. Before I updated mario this morning, He connected just fine, but afterward, he continues to crash every time. I would appreciate if you could fix this bug please. Otherwise, this is a great app, othee than this detrimental glitch..Version: 2.0.0

App Crashes - Does Not WorkLeaving a 1 Star review as a placeholder. I want to say 1st and foremost that we love LEGO products. My son and I love building sets together. But.... the new Mario Starter Kit App is not working. Very disappointing for an 8 year old who just got 3 of the sets for Christmas and cannot build them or sync to the app. There were a lot of tears tonight between getting the App downloaded and having it crash every time you connect Mario then click start. On top of that the Starter kit was missing a lot of parts and the set is sold out mostly everywhere. Trying to get parts shipped from Lego also takes weeks so that won’t be an option. I figured out the only workaround to get the app not to crash is to turn off WiFi and Cellular Data. You have to put it in Airplane mode and then it won’t crash. It will tell you that you are not connected to the internet when you use this workaround. This is how we got the building instructions and realized the set was missing a lot of pieces. I have no apps running in the background and also have deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times. I work in IT so I know the ins and outs of these devices and IoT. Hopefully Lego developers are reading these posts so they can fix the app. It is not only on an iPad but iPhone also ( I have a new iPad and use an iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 14.3). Once app is fixed, I will update my review..Version: 1.3.9

App crashing every time across all devicesApp was working during build of a few sets, but since buying the starter kit, the App is constantly crashing almost immediately after loading every time. We have downloaded the instructions for building the starter kit from the alternate link, but I presume the app is required to get the full experience of the set. Very frustrating. Tried on iPhone 11 OS 14.3. iPhone 8 14.3 and iPad mini 4 13.7.Version: 1.3.9

Poorly designed and pass the cost to youInstead of just printing instructions like every other Lego set, you have to download this app on how to build the sets, then you have to create and setup a lab account. And you have to register all the sets. If the set isn’t registered you can’t view the instructions. And the app doesn’t save the settings; even if you login to the account it forced you to make. So when you go back in you have to re-register everything again. This app takes up too much space on the phone, is annoyingly difficult to use versus just a simple book, and complicates the heck out of building legos without adding any value; it degrades value. Please just book instruction books in the sets. I’ll pay an extra $5 or whatever just to have a printed book. It’d be greener rather than having to use lithium battery and fossil fuels constantly to keep devices charged..Version: 2.8.1

No goodCrashes whenever you open an instruction booklet.Version: 1.2.10

Update gave Mario a bugThe app it’s self is cool. My son like the building instruction and the map of his personal sets. There was an update that needed done and started automatically but after it loaded we are not able to connect our Mario to the app. We did EVERYTHING we could to restart or fix it. Nothing worked so we bought a new starter kit with a new Mario and tried setting it up. The app said the Mario needed an update (just like the first one) and did it automatically. AGAIN after the update our Mario still will not connect to the app to load the new sets or suites. My only conclusion is there is a bug in this app or upload that needs fixed. I’ve spent a lot of money and repurchased Mario’s and had the same issue, so it’s not the Mario. Please fix this so our Mario will work with the app again..Version: 2.0.2

IT WONT WORK!!When I turn on lego Mario it just has the Bluetooth symbol on the screen that’s on his belly and it never goes away, when I go into the app and try to connect him it just says “for the app to connect to lego Mario please enable the following permissions Bluetooth permission” so I go into settings and it’s already on so I try turning it on and off again it doesn’t do anything! so now I can’t use the app at all and now all these lego Mario sets are just taking up space plz just fix your app!.Version: 2.0.4

Was better before the updateThey removed the challenge for the starter set, and other expansion. and the level mixer. now it has a few building instructions and videos, and just a tally of the codes scanned for coins.Version: 2.5.2

Great until 2.02Loved this app... Until it was pretty much hopelessly broken with the 2.02 release. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and the issue is pervasive -- it doesn't sync my "village". This is a common complaint online so I don't understand why this version hasn't been pulled as 2.01 worked fine..Version: 2.0.2

Bluetooth probI got lego mario and tried to pair it with the app but when i accidentally stopped the download mario got stuck with a bluetooth logo in front of a phone (on the mini screen) and now its stuck on it and whenever i restart it nothing changes. I can still update it but the bar never moves. I literally cannot do anything with him. Do you know how to fix this?.Version: 2.1.0

Impossible to find building instructionsWhy does LEGO not put building instructions into the kit? Very inconvenient. Worse, I can find building instructions for all sorts of extension packs in the app, but not for the base pack. Instead, there are nonsensical features in the app like to share your creation. I am surprised that LEGO has released the app in its current form. This needs a lot of work and in particular be made much more accessible for parents..Version: 1.0.8

Crashes as soon as you log inHappily using this app up until today when suddenly it crashes. Manage to log in and then the app shuts itself down. Unusable. Disappointing. I deleted it and then reinstalled it. Still no luck. Weird for two of the biggest power house companies in the world to develop such a luck lustre product..Version: 1.3.9

Can’t even use this app without crashingMy son and I are super disappointed. He got the Super Mario LEGO sets for Christmas and cannot build them or use them at all because this app keeps crashing everytime we try to use it. We have resintalled several times and no improvement. Not a good Christmas for him :(.Version: 1.3.9

App crashesAt first everything was great when I first got the Mario starter kit with other sets to connect, 2 weeks ago when trying to connect Mario to the app it said he needed an upgrade so I did that and now he won’t connect back to the app. I also got the Luigi starter kit yesterday and he also won’t connect to the app. The app says it upgraded “both” of them but they won’t connect and the app crashes immediately after I can’t see any pictures it’s just boxes everywhere. I’m still happy that Mario and Luigi are working without the app but it would be awesome if they had their own profile to collect their coins etc. Please fix this! My son loves to use the app and is pretty disappointed it isn’t working properly..Version: 2.0.4

Fun App with Update ProblemsThis is a great app that is required in order to build most LEGO Mario sets (that don’t include paper instructions). The instructions work well, and it’s great to see the collection in one place. Unfortunately, the recent updates have made the app quite a bit worse. It used to have a great screen that would pop up with small dioramas of all your collected sets together. My son and I both loved seeing them pop up when scanned, and the new mechanic to show example levels with your sets is slow and seems to only make pretty uninspired, straight level designs. I’d love to see the old collection screen come back. Finally, the new updates have also introduced some pretty significant bugs and problems with the app. We are no longer able to get Mario to connect via Bluetooth (even after turning off/on Bluetooth). Our new Luigi has never been able to connect. It also introduced frequent visual bugs in the instructions such as slightly distorted or sometimes even completely invisible LEGO pieces. I hope that they’re able to work out all these bugs soon, because we love the sets..Version: 2.0.4

Super MarioSo disappointed with this. Mean not to put the build instructions in the box, I tried to download but am told my ipad is too old. I can’t afford to upgrade an ipad. I have over a hundred Star Wars sets but you have left a child and hid Dad very disappointed.Version: 1.3.9
