Roxsyn Guitar Synthesizer for Negative User Reviews

Doesn’t workI can’t get this to work in any shape or form. Can’t even get a single sound out of it. I have ToneStack pro and have zero issues with that so no idea why this doesn’t work. I’ve gone through every tips video, watched loads of other YouTube videos and still not found anything that makes this thing make any noise. I’ve tried reaching out to support for help but like other reviews I’ve had no response..Version: 1.0

1-star for hobbling GarageBand on Apple Silicon, and not responding.Things do go wrong. But this is two of this developer’s apps now, consistently cause GarageBand AUv3 issues, this is by far the worst for this (pls see below). I gave it 3 stars for the hobbling of GarageBand, but now it’s one star because I think it’s being ignored. I actually slightly object to being an unofficial test-pilot for the app-makers. Being a test-pilot and the issue being ignored, for 3 apps (just got KASPAR and it’s got it’s own issues), is too much, sorry Yonac, please do fix it. If it’s ongoing work, fine. But that needs said, is all. Love Yonac apps, have a lot of them, they are great. But, keeping up with Apple’s changes is stretching some developers it seems, and while some issues can be a quality issue, this literally stops the use of GarageBand, if it is placed an any FX list, for any instrument. Long story short, you are sent round and round, when you try to exit - but you can never exit and save. I have let Yonac support know. I won’t use an app if there is a fair chance it will lose me my work - and this is not a 50/50, it’s absolutely guaranteed, it does it ten out of ten times. Then I delete Roxsyn from the single track it’s on, and voila, all works as normal. Apple iPad Pro M1. 12.9” and iPadOS 15.7.1 so it could just be Apple Silicon affected? I don’t know. It’s above my IQ grade! Sorry Yonac, hope it can be fixed soon. I also have a similar issue with Yonac’s Galileo Organ 2, but I mentioned that to their support as well, it’s more like half the time, it fails to permit exit/save in GB..Version: 1.0

Love but problems...Not showing up as AUV3 and I can’t change the sample rate even though I’m using irighd2. Sounds and tracking are amazing however. Need these problems fixed though and will change to 5 stars.Version: 1.0

I tried very hard with this, but...This is a great idea in theory, but in reality it’s rather patchy. Some of the presets don’t seem to work at all, while it is not uncommon for a particular preset to randomly come and go, irrespective of the strength of the input- for example, some will just go silent during a spell of finger-picking where there has been no change to the input level whatsoever. It should be noted that this is a revised review, with a revised rating. Having contacted Yonac’s App Support when I first experienced problems, it was around three weeks before I got a response, which directed me to their new ‘Tips’n’Tricks’ video. While this helped a bit, it still did not solve the seemingly random total drop-out issue, for which a star is lost- after all, that would be unsatisfactory for recording purposes, let alone live use. The other star goes for the latency issue- despite what the puff says, there is noticeable to very noticeable latency on all preset types, except possibly some of the swelling pads where initial output is effectively nil anyway. I therefore still find myself with an app that cost good money, but that does rather less than what it’s supposed to do. It is, as above, a great idea in theory, but I could not wholeheartedly recommend it in its current state. When it works, it has the potential to be a useful tool, and is more than capable of bringing a smile to the face. However, when it doesn’t (and that ‘when’ is sad to write; it’s not a case of ‘if’), it is frustrating to say the least..Version: 1.0

Was expecting something usefulYonac makes some great apps. My favorites are the Steel Guitar Pro and the Galileo 2 in terms of usefulness and the way they fit with other apps and midi control effects in an app like AUM. I don’t have Magellan Synth 2 or the newest Trooper, which I would love to check out, but haven’t found the reason to spend $15 for each yet. There is a lack of consistent quality guitar interface synths with midi translation that maintain iOS updates. The decent ones seem to suddenly vanish - like midimorphosis. That being said, that’s not what this app is. In fact there is no midi control function. It’s just a very thick and oozing filtering app that takes a guitar signal and destroys it with effect parameters commonly found on oscillation type synthesizers, with filtering, arping, and all of the other common audio effects, plus lots and lots of distortion. I have yet to find a use for it honestly, which is weird considering how many presets it has - presets that have very little range. Of you want to go from noisy lower pelagic oceanic deep distorted and modulated reverb to lush distorted low pass filtered arpeggiated offset delays that have no discernible pitch modulation, then there are millions of presets for everything in between those two. If there were better clean tones, o might be able to use this. A rare miss imo for Yonac, but you might find it vastly and useful..Version: 1.0

Zero tech-support if you have a problemIt pains me to give this a negative review because the videos look so cool but after paying for it it has some problems and I am not able to successfully run it. I’ve reached out to tech-support through their website and emails multiple times over the past few weeks with zero response. I feel like my money has been stolen..Version: 1.0

OddsoxGood but crashes.Version: 1.0

No auv3Not working in cubasis as a auv3.Version: 1.0

No supportSupport emails have not been answered..Version: 1.0

Uniquely unusableNoisy af, the patches all sound the same- none of them offering a sound that is usable in a musical setting. Better results can be easily obtained using a pitch shifter a delay and mod fx (all available for FREE). Great looking interface that doesn’t do much of anything useful. I love the idea though- hope in the future this is updated with real oscillators and a sound palette worthy of the name “guitar synth”..Version: 1.0

Doesn’t work wih external midiIt even recognizes my midi controller but just won’t work...and sine it has no built in virtual keyboard...it’s practically useless right now.Version: 1.0
