Roxsyn Guitar Synthesizer for Positive User Reviews

7 stars... I really mean it. 7 stars. The open ended capacity of this app is mind blowing. Started playing with it a month ago. It's responsive, brilliant, wild. The developer is a masterful cocreator for my music. It's a pleasure playing with you, brother….Version: 1.0

Awesome synth for guitar very responsiveI had some problems getting it to work on my IPad Pro but the problem is on my end somewhere it works awesome on my iPad Air, well worth the money..Version: 1.0

Superb AppYonac is changing the game with Roxsyn. Hopefully we will see even more quote (waveforms) in the future. Maybe a phase distortion or a bit crusher/sample rate reducer added to the 5 current offerings. 5 Stars to Yonac for thinking outside of the midi pitch tracking paradigm that has plagued guitar synthesis for over 3 decades. It’s crazy to think this is the first usable guitar synthesizer that has made it to market since the idea of synthesized guitar came to market in 1984. BRAVO!.Version: 1.0

Nearly perfect!Seamless tracking, incredible patches to select from, easy to tweak...what more can I say! I play bass and this app has no key limit like other similar apps...every step further I take into this app is completely inspiring! However, in the stand alone version it chooses the left channel from my audio interface so my guitar mix only plays out of the left side and I can’t find a way to change the input channel, but in AUM I am able to select the proper channel from my interface which bypasses that issue. Keep up the great work Yonac! 🙌🏻🔥‼️💖.Version: 1.0

ProblemHello Nothing is working, just a white noise.... Help please Thanks.Version: 1.0

Magic! Mind blown.Wait...What magic is going on here? Perfect tracking midi seemed impossible & guitar processing like this seemed just as impossible. Ahhh...my brain! All I know is I got lost in the tones I was playing through for hours tonight..Version: 1.0

Incredible app! With a bit of tweaking, you can coax some amazing sounds out of this. I rarely use presets on my synths, but had a blast just trawling through the ones provided. The real fun comes when you cook up your own sounds though. If I had to nitpick, the “oscillators” are a bit limiting. I’d love to see an update that improved on this section. But as it stands this is easily the most successful implementation of a Guitar synth on iOS..Version: 1.0

Deep sea diving1st impressions were oh no it’s tone stack! as I had circumnavigated the arpeggios to check out the stand alone presets. I found them a bit muddy and uninspiring then went back to the arpeggios and it opened up to me and I found the tone my tenor stick ukulele likes and all sorts high gain goodness poured out. Love already and I’ve only spent an hour with it. AU3 is a no show at the moment but not a deal breaker..Version: 1.0

“Rocks in” the effect slotEven if u don’t play guitar...open it in the effects slot in AUM or AUDIOBUS and run your synths through it for a breath of fresh air...this app is all killer, no filler! Nice work Yo....Version: 1.0

AmazingTotally unique. Nothing at all like this in any other app. So responsive compared to audio to midi converters. A real usable synth for guitarists. So many lithe sound mangling possibilities to for non guitar input..Version: 1.0

Wow....just...wow...I am a keyboardist first and foremost and I’m okay at playing guitar but I can’t seem to put the guitar down now since I got this app...it’s a game changer!! Just a total different perspective on what you can do with strings. I remember a friend having the Roland GR1 way back in the 90’s and that thing never came close to what you can do with this... it’s simply amazing I have had a constant smile on my face since I plugged into it, so much fun!.Version: 1.0

Exactly what was neededI’ve previously owned a Boss SY-300 and now have an EHX synth 9 which are real pedals that are the closest to what this app does. I am now going to sell them because this app is that good. £20 is a bargain given it works. Those other pedals are very expensive. I use a Spanish guitar with a pre amp system so that could be responsible for some of the patches not working well but adjustments can be made. Very happy. Polyphonic and really big usable sounds..Version: 1.0

It’s Great!I own a Roland guitar synth setup and Roxsyn puts the Roland to shame. This synth has great possibilities. It’s just about perfect. It’s probably me just learning the system. I’m really happy and impressed. Hope they continue to tweak everything and make more presets. Seriously buy it! you will not be disappointed. Update. Not all of the presets work. Is this happening to anyone else? The presets that work are very good, but... not all work properly..Version: 1.0

Here we go gainAnother app from yonac that I buy without thinking because they don't make mediocre stuff, only great. And of course no disappointment. The difference is that this one breaks new ground. It's not just another app that makes nice noise. It is special. I just realized how great it will sound as an effect for yonac Steel Guitar app. Got to go right now to try it. Have fun..Version: 1.0

Absolutely Mind BlowingThis app is like no other! The developer has not only moved the goal posts but has completely disintegrated them! This is a game changer!.Version: 1.0

Disappointed...until I read the manualI am a guitar synth nut. I have a Fishman Midi pickup, I’ve tried multiple synth apps and this looked like it was a perfect addition to my IPad. I plugged my guitar into my iRig 2 interface, fired up the app and thought I had bought a dud. Tracking was slow, half the sounds didn’t work. What are these people that like this app doing that I’m not? Then I looked at the manual. Set the sample size to “smaller” and my tracking problem was solved.Set the Processing Quality to “better” instead of “best” and suddenly presets were working. (I have a second generation iPad mini and I guess the processor was struggling)Adjusted the auto trigger threshold and dynamics and and wow, what a difference! I’m just starting to scratch the surface of what this thing can do. If your into guitar synths, you should definitely get this one. Just do yourself a favor and do what I should have done first. Read the manual..Version: 1.0

Some presets make no soundI really like the app. All in all it works very good. Only two issues. Some of the presets produce no sound. Most do, but some just have no sound. Also, it’s output level is a little to inconsistent and low for actual live use. Otherwise, very fun, and 100% worth downloading..Version: 1.0

Amazing !I have been playing with this for an hour and already am completely in love with it. Transforms your guitar or bass into a massive range of synth tones and types, complete with arpeggiator, FX, tape recorder. And it all works with no discernible latency. I am already working out how to incorporate this into my live rig, and it certainly gives far more flexibility in your ability to shape the sound than, for example, the EHX SYN9 or other pedals. Thank you. This is what I have been after for while now and takes me one step further to a full live rig based only on my iPad. Look forward to more from this company..Version: 1.0

AmazingUnique ! The tones are amazing. One can edit the tones in literally an infinite amount of variation. I have been messing with this for hours and have been drawn in to the point where I forgot to eat lunch. I don’t believe there is anything quite like this on the App Store..Version: 1.0

Great, great, great!Awesome app. It does have some note dropout here and there, but it’s rare. Giving 5 stars in good faith that details will be corrected. As for what it does, it’s amazing. Seems to be filters applied over the guitar sound. Not quite true synthesis, but like stomp box emulators arranged to sound like a synth. Don’t know if that’s how they did it, just seems like it might be. The sounds are great, though. Using your guitar to control a bass synth sound is incredibly freeing. Used a Korg microSampler to make some backing beats, put some synth lines in with Roxsyn. It was very easy to get ideas and play the kind of weird stuff in my head. $9.99 is a bit pricey for some, but for a quality music app, this is an exception you want to make, ESPECIALLY if you play guitar. Besides they are indicating the price will go up, not down. Grab it..Version: 1.0

I saw Doug Woods demo this live on the Soundtestroom and it's brilliant.I'm not a guitarist but you can put any audio through this so it's very useful to me. I use various iOS synths and this is AUv3 so I'm very happy with it. I do own a McNally Strumstick (a 3 string dulcimer) and a diddley bow (as played by Seasick Steve) and can get a tune out of both, but my efforts tend to be a bit bland. This app makes bland playing much more interesting due to the supplied arpeggios and effects. It's worth the price..Version: 1.0

NICE APPSounds great and the developer is a generous person. I had one complaint about it and he assured me that the next update will address that issue. In the meantime he offered a free Yonac App to compensate..Version: 1.0

The Shizzle!OMG this thing is sssssoooooo awesome! It’s gonna put Roland out of business. I’ve been playing for over 40 years , spent at least $50,000 on equipment and this is best and funnest effect I’ve ever used. The best $10- I’ve ever spent in my life. I think people(Roland) get greedy and they don’t realize that the more affordable you keep things, the more money you’ll make in the long run if you have a good product. Success leaves clues. Would you rather sell a million hamburgers for $20- or be like Mc Donald’s and make billions... duhhhh.Version: 1.0

I like this more than my children.Nothing much more to say but if it became a choice between this and the kids then this more than just edges it ... truly wonderful (kids not so much).Version: 1.0

Worth every pennyGreat app! Very cool guitar synth at a fraction of the price. I’d be happy to pay for an upgrade for more waveforms/waveshapers too. Really fun product, no midi, no tracking delays!.Version: 1.0

As guitar synths goThis is the 1st guitar synth that I've ever found playable. The latency is negligible if one is used to playing through an audio interface. So far I've tried it on drum loops and guitar. I think it's brilliant. Nice one..Version: 1.0

Insta-buy app! Nice work YonacThis app is a must have if you play guitar and enjoy creating music on your iOS devices. If you don’t think you need this or don’t think you will use it - just try it. As a guitar player and a keyboard player, this app allows you to get to a level somewhere in between these 2 instruments that you can’t do any other way IMO. Great work Yonac!.Version: 1.0

Superb and excitingFantastic list of presets and more knobs than an octopus! Wonderful sounds, tracks flawlessly (using Sonuus I2M). Works perfectly in Cubase and Garageband. I’ve been playing guitar synths for decades and this is hands down the best I’ve ever owned. I really can’t praise this more highly. Recommended!!.Version: 1.0

Unique and inspiringWorks well. Is unique in its sound in a brilliantly ghostly and dissonant way, especially when routed through Ableton and tweeked. Is an app I am happy to have on my iPad that’s worth having on an iPad. Basically brilliant, worth the price and something I will actually incorporate into my musical productions..Version: 1.0

Great app!I bought this app because I thought it had the ability to be used as a MIDI instrument on other DAWS like midi guitar 2 but it seems like this is not capable. Otherwise great app. I would give it 5 stars if it had that function..Version: 1.0

I love the response, but...Developers please add some featuresThis is the best guitar synth that picks up all the dynamics that other midi guitar synths don’t..It doesn’t have limited sound that gives off like the other apps, its very expressive with stuff like bending notes and vibrato. I just wish that the voices provided in this app also included saw wave, sine wave etc. All the sounds start sounding the same after a while. This app has a lot of potential to have a guitar player/ synthesist change the instrument of a synthesizer. The guitar is way more expressive than the piano because of how human it is to press a note on a fret and have it slightly off pitch when bending it just a little..the piano is so rigid in playing notes..sure they have a pitch wheel but its not as expressive as shaking notes on a guitar with your finger or whammy bar. If they have the traditional sounds like the sine wave and sawtooth, synthesizer players might consider playing a guitar instead..like what if there can be a foot pedal that can allow you to oscillate manually like a wah pedal. Please add the feature of adding the traditional sine wave and sawtooth, triangle, square etc. voices.Version: 1.0
