ToneStack PRO Guitar Amps & FX for Negative User Reviews

False AdvertisingThe price is listed as being $4.99 and the in app purchase of the complete plugin bundle at $19.99. I purchased the app and was charged $9.99 and the in app purchase was actually $59.99!.Version: 1.0

Tempo sync issuesThis app contains probably the best sounding guitar fx I have heard on iOS, especially the wahs!!! Unfortunately, when used as an auv effect the tempo sync simply does not work with the hosts tempo making the time based effects pretty useless in my own set up (live looping with no preset tempos). I like modulation fx to modulate in time with the music and as this is not possible I have had to settle for a generic setting. The delays are totally unusable without the ability to “tap tempo” so I have to go elsewhere for those. It is a shame as this is the most comprehensive set of great sounding fx I have found on iOS and the ui is excellent. Surely this problem could be solved with an update?.Version: 1.0

Could be greatThis feels a bit like an unfinished product, rushed out after 3-4 years! Endless problems with some patches not working although they are exactly the same in another set. Tapedeck constantly distorts and plays twice as fast after altering a patch. No response from developers. Have gone back to my old analog setup. Shame as it showed such promise, but as it stands for me it’s unusable..Version: 1.0

Frequent crashes,I have several complaints about this app. 1. This app crashes frequently when I’m using it in AUM, which is obviously a big problem that renders this app completely worthless to me for its purpose. No other guitar amp sims experience this issue. (2017 iPad Pro) 2. The app cannot be loaded into an audio/midi source slot in AUM. What?! Why not?! My audio interface isn’t detected as a mic, but just ‘usb out’, however that was never an issue with tonestack 3! In fact, the workaround to fix this was: load tonestack 3, turn off all effects/amp sims, then load tonestack pro as an effect for tonestack 3. What a waste of time and resources. This convoluted process can only be described as the modern day equivalent of blowing into a Nintendo cartridge. 3. Speaking of tonestack 3, that brings me to my last and most annoying complaint (only most annoying because I’m sure you can fix the other issues with an update I guess, even tho a broken app is unacceptable) All the effects are the same and I have to buy them again?! I already paid for the ‘motherload’ in-app purchase for every single effect in ts3. Now, in order to use auv3 features, I need to unload my wallet for everything again? I would have paid for an upgrade to tonestack 3 to add auv3 features. But not $70. Other developers have figured out bundle options for app upgrades when they announce new “upgraded versions” of the same thing. I also don’t have time to ‘watch for sale prices’ on the App Store so please save me that discourse about the ‘introductory pricing’. As someone who already had spent money on these effects already and has used them loyally for years, I was hoping for better than a broken app with an enormous price of (re)admission. Sorry for the bad review. Please fix..Version: 1.0

Needs improvementGenerally good app but my main issue is with the ABY pedal. The three stomp pedals share the same single midi trigger instead of being split between 3 triggers. I’m not sure if Yonac expects the one trigger to cycle between the 3 states or what. In practice, I could only get it to cycle between A and B and couldn’t engage the Y. Regardless, cycling isn’t a good way of handling this because sometimes I want to click directly to the state I want to be in and not have to cycle through two states to get there (even if it worked properly). This doesn’t seem like a Pro level design..Version: 1.0

Update??Come on guys, an update please, as an auv3 it dows not recieve MIDI from sources in AUM, nor from virtuall inputs, so it cannot recieve clock information, so any time based fx like delay and so can’t be synchronized to tempo, ableton link would be nice or something, no updates since it came out is no good, love your apps but no one takes care of them after they come out, it is a shame.Version: 1.0

No momentary button support??Every other app that uses midi control lets you latch pedals with momentary buttons. Except these expensive guitar effects apps. It would be really great to trigger and latch effects using momentary and soft touch foot switches… Rather than having to load 5 instances in a program to get it to do what ToneStack should already do in one instance..Version: 1.1

Auv3 does not work with LogicPro on IPad ProLooks from other reviews like this developer has either gone bust or is totally ignoring help requests I have spent £70 on this app including the POT of gold add on. Working perfect standalone but crashes when used as a plug in to Logic Pro on my M1 IPad Pro. Emails x 2 to the author are not responded to, therefore the instability of the App as a DAW iOS plug in and the lack of support or courtesy in not replying my help request amount to a deserved 1* rating. I shall update the review if the author picks up and fixes the issue..Version: 1.0

This app is great on its ownNo sync, This app will not work in Logic Pro on IPad making it useless for my workflow? I really hope this gets addressed. I will go to 5 stars if fixed!.Version: 1.0

Doesn’t work with Logic Pro for IPadCrashes when loaded through Logic Pro for iPad - which means it’s useless to me. Shame, it has good tones!.Version: 1.0

Can I just get some units instead of all?3 stars just because if I want just some units it only gives me one option and that is to buy them all and honestly i don’t want all of them and forking out just for space echo 50+ pounds is not going to happen:(.Version: 1.0

Best of all the amp sims I have usedIt’s a little expensive but not considering what you get for your money. Better presets than all the other apps with way more user customizable options. Considerably better than the Spark app which actually a top level app which says all you need to know. The expensive part is the add on but I would highly recommend..Version: 1.0

Not greatI’ve tried almost every amp & effects software on iOS and this is probably the least satisfying. Regardless of how I set up the amps, fx & mics there always seems to be an underlying clean tone that the effects are just slapped on top of, dirty never really sounds dirty, it just sounds clean with some dirt chucked on top. Some of the effects sound totally separate almost like there’s two signals, it’s horrible. The presets are probably the worst I’ve heard in an amp sim and are Pretty much useless. There’s loads of choice in the pot but none of the effects are really gold. The amps just don’t sound anything like real amps. I’d recommend looking elsewhere!.Version: 1.1

Difficult to go through/try different ampsCould you make it easier to swap Amps please? The way it works now is you tap and hold then the amplifier selection pops up, and there you have to scroll to find the amp you’re using (it doesn’t remember position and always starts from the top of the list) and then select a next one. And as soon as you select it, the selection window closes. So you have to repeat the whole procedure. Double-tap would be better than tap and hold (but I can wait), but the whole window closing after you make the selection that’s just horrible user experience. Am I supposed to remember how each amp sounds, I mean there are like 70 of them, that’s just not realistic. And then tap-and-wait, and scroll again to select next... Please make it so the Amplifier selection remains open, and we can just try different amps till we find the right tone. Thanks!.Version: 1.0

Skip this app if you need your delay to be in time!I’m rating 1 star because this app is effectively useless to me after discovering such a stupid not working feature. When you use this app within another app (as an audio unit) they remove the tempo syncing options from the ui. The app is supposed to sync to the tempo of the app it’s being used within. THIS DOESN’T WORK! So no app sync within garage band, cubase 3, aum or any other audio app. I wanted to use this in aum with another app “autopad” which would let me have a click and pad going with my electric sounds. This is rendered impossible. Such a bummer because the sounds this app can create are phenomenal. If it did everything it claimed to be able to do then I would be super happy with it. I would be fairly close to being able to replace my heavy and expensive pedalboard with an ipad. But a very important feature is broken. This app appears to have been abandoned as posts about this very topic on their online forum have not been responded to for about a year. Devs: if you fix this I will change this review to 5 stars. While your in there can you provide the option to still have midi tap temp available while functioning as an audio unit?.Version: 1.0

Problem unlocking the pot of gold!I bought the Pot of Gold upgrade for the Octave sounds and the ducking delay, but when I recently had to reinstall Tonestack PRO, it said I had to pay again! Can you please help me sort this out?.Version: 1.0
