ToneStack for Negative User Reviews
✓ 3 years since an update???I bought all of the in app purchases and am now feeling like a big fat plucked chicken. How many OS upgrades since then? Let alone two new iPad models. Not cool, Yonac..Version: 3.3
✓ Effects disappear and sound muffledFor some reason the effects disappear when I play back a ToneStack track on Auria. Why? I have to use AudioShare to keep the effects present. Please repair this problem. The sound is somewhat muffled which creates some drowning out of other sounds during recordings as well as unnecessary noises.Version: 1.6
✓ Tone doesn't Stack upLet me preface this by saying I recently switched from a 12 pedal pedalboard to an iPad based setup with a guitar wing and source audio hot hand USB for control. I mostly just wanted to copy the setup I have on my pedalboard but for full wireless and pedal free operation. Have been using bias fx, but got this because I really like how much better the midi control options are on this. Really wanted this to work because the midi control is pretty great. However, it doesn't deliver where it counts: the sound. The overdrive/distortion sounds just don't cut it, they sound like modeled tones, whereas bias actually sounds real. Tried really hard to dial in convincing tones and couldn't do it. Also, the phase 90 clone is horrible and tone sucking, and that's a huge part of my playing, so that is a killer right there. The ups: I will say though, I use the wah as a iaa w/ bias, it sounds much better and responds much better to midi control. Echorec in ToneStack sounds pretty good too. I might try the poly octave too, because I'm not terribly happy w/ bias fx's version. I mean, if you want 90's/early 00's level modeling sounds, this has a ton of options, and great control... but I'm accustomed to the real gear, and the Tone just doesn't Stack up for what I need on the core sounds..Version: 3.3
✓ Tone Stack Pro released, no upgrade for #3 usersThis really disappointed me. I have to now she’ll out the same amount I paid for 3 but really all I want out of it is auv3 support. Why not offer us #3 users a complete upgrade for like $10. For the entire upgrade. All amps, fx, etc. I own all your gear. Very sad that you just want me to purchase it all over again..Version: 3.3
✓ PopsSounds great. My issue is after playing for a few minutes it makes a popping sound through my amp. I close the app and open it back up and it’s fine. I play for a few minutes and it begins popping again..Version: 3.3
✓ The tone isn’t goodI like this dev but if you’re looking for decent guitar tone this is not it, especially anything with distortion. Cleans are ok but not great very thin. Design of the app is great and has lots of content, but tone is lacking..Version: 3.3
✓ Not quite there yetOnly good, when you use an USB interface. The sounds compared to others are...OK-ish. The only thing good about this app is the noise reduction and the ABY function. The patch sound lowers immensely whenever the delays and reverbs are engaged PLUS the quality of the assistance of the app support is really poor. You can play/use this app only through headphones. There are other better sounding apps out there.....Version: 1.0
✓ Sorry, not liking itToo many effects disabled. Not intuitive to use. Sounds ok, but not that great. Over-hyped, in my opinion..Version: 3.3
✓ This app is a ripoff!I bought this app after I downloaded the free ToneStack go. Using ToneStack go I purchased a rotary effect pedal. You would think that the $9.99 version ToneStack would recognize that I had purchased this pedal. But no. It requires me to purchase it again. Also for a $9.99 app it offers an extremely small amount of effects, amps, etc. and on top of it all, I asked for my money back from the App Store but it told me that ToneStack is no available for refunds. I can assure you that I will never purchase anything from this developer. They are not very nice. They should at least give me my money back if I’m not happy with the product. Ripoff!!!.Version: 3.3
✓ Audiobus compatibility issuesLatest update hasn't addressed the issues when using the app as an effect in Audiobus, needs a fix to work with the latest Audiobus API..Version: 1.6
✓ QualityQuality app. Would be 5 stars but every now and again it fails to recognise the input through the jack and I have to reinstall the app to get it working again, which is quite annoying! Once fixed I'll amend to 5*s.Version: 1.1
✓ Good in its day but neglected since 2017Really good sounding app back in the day but unfortunately has not had any update since 2017. Alas problems such as IAA zombie bug have never been fixed. We now also have AUv3 amp+FX sim options such as Klevgrand’s Stark and Nembrini’s Crunck - for me and many others AUv3 is a must nowadays. Would love to see the developer give ToneStack some long overdue love and bring it up to date..Version: 3.3
✓ New App no noticeJust great when you barely had ToneStack for a few weeks and purchase unlocks and Developer releases new Pro model.. great way to sneak a few dollars… could of allowed upgrade price for recent purchases….Version: 3.3
✓ Everything locked behind paywallYou get next to nothing included in the basic app purchase. You can’t even really go through the presets because most of them require you to pay to unlock the various elements that make them up! I wanted to try it for the bass amps, but even the bass ‘bundle’ is split into separate purchases. I just got this on sale so no big loss but if I’d paid £10 for this shell I’d be pretty annoyed..Version: 3.3
✓ FxWhat is it With you. you have the same fx in Every app but you have to pay for them every single time you buy an app what a joke.I've had to pay basically three or four times for the same fx.Version: 3.3
✓ Tone stackRip off.Version: 2.1
✓ Very DissapointedThe basic version deos not even come with a useable Delay! Only a Echoplex immitation that sounds like crap. The 2.0 and 3.0 presets are unuseable in the basic package because they require in app purchases. For the amount of money they want for the extras, I could buy a Real Pedalboard. Ten dollars for one effect??? Don't waste your time or money on this unless all you need are a few so so sounding rigs!.Version: 3.3
✓ Needs a lot of work.If you say this app is better than JamUp and Bias, you either don't know what good tone sounds like or you have not used JamUp or Bias. This app would be amazing if it produced tones like JamUp and Bias. I read all the good reviews about this app and was disappointed after I bought it. The reviews are misleading. If you're in the market for an amp simulator, I suggest that you go with JamUp or Bias. This app will disappoint. That is, unless you like horrible tone..Version: 1.4
✓ Needs updateThis was my go-to app for solo practicing, but it hasn’t been updated in over three years. Now I can no longer import backing tracks from my music library, which was the main thing I used it for. And no reply from support. Seems like the developers retired and are just milking it. It still sounds ok and doesn’t spam you with ads like IK’s apps, but at least they keep up with new iOS versions..Version: 3.3
✓ A REFUND IS IN ORDERApp works fine by itself, however it DOES NOT WORK in my DAW as advertised, I would like my $9.99 back..Version: 3.3
