✓ Good but...I’m a big fan of puzzle games and found this game in my recommendations page in the App Store. But as soon as I loaded it up, it was instantly in Chinese. I did my best to try to fix it or find a settings option, but the game gave me nothing and instantly threw me into a tutorial. My daughter is quite a detective herself lol and was able to find the settings hidden in the menu. It’s very small but its located where a little avatar man is. I’m assuming thats meant to be where you and your data is. She was able to change it to English and we were very relieved. The game is very cute and fun if you’re a fan of puzzles like me, but the puzzles after the Movie Star area just get very easy and kind of boring. The list of items to find are too short and the art doesn’t have as much detail as the Movie Star level. Kind of disappointing since we both really enjoyed how cute and fun the art was. We haven’t gotten through the other levels but I hope they get better..Version: 2.9

✓ What’s the point of a game that won’t connect to a networkThis game is only available offline and the “support” offered when asked to advise on network issues is to direct everyone to a fan forum page on FB where no one knows the answer either and where everyone else is also having connection issues. ✓ Broken, and no help from developerThis review is written September 23, 2020. It has been weeks since the game signed in to the server, and reading other reviews, it isn’t just me. “Offline mode,” doesn’t cut it, because there are places in the game that rely on dynamic content, so this perpetual offline mode has brought progress, and any enjoyment of the game, to an abrupt halt. I tried to contact the developer, when I thought it was just my issue, but never got a response. I’m sorry, developer person. This game is/was clever, genius, challenging, mindful and fun. It serves no purpose on my tablet now but taking up space. I am loathe to delete it. You have left me no choice. ✓ Offline ModeThis game was really awesome until the day it stopped connecting to the network. I have checked with other users on different cell phone networks/WiFi connections and everyone has the same issue. I emailed the developer over a month ago and I haven’t heard back. I’m upset because I spent $6.99 and then $8.99 (because I purchased the wrong option) and it still isn’t working. Will there be an update soon? ✓ Stuck!I’ve had this game for a few months, and loved it from day 1! The artwork is beautiful, the ideas and characters are quirky and this is the kind of game that can stand hours and hours of play but still be charming and engrossing! But. Since about 10 days ago, the app when loading says it can’t connect to the network/server (all my other apps are fine) and in off-line mode without access to several play modes. ✓ Fun but tediousI really love puzzle/find-it games like this one, the art and idea are very cute but the payoffs (such as amount of coin rewards) are too low, and the energy takes too long to regenerate so it feels boring and like a chore to have to wait that long in between plays. Also the fact that I have to watch an ad to access the ability to pay coins to unlock accessories is kind of a chore too. Via the App Store, I found a link to the developer website, sent off an email. No response. I then downloaded my purchase on another device, and using my id, logged in. ✓ So cute. But so frustrating.The game is adorable and really fun! But really frustrating. You don’t get much direction at all and any tips on the loading screen are gone too soon to be read. And movement controls are so annoying! If you try to swipe to pan too fast, you can’t move anything. It makes it really hard to look for what you need! The energy system in this game is by far one of the worst I’ve ever seen. It takes 25 minutes to refill ONE unit of energy. With the minimum cost per single stage 3 energy, you’ll have to spend several hours worth of energy to complete just one level. And the worst part of it all- if your app restarts for any reason while you’re playing, that energy is just gone forever! If you leave to check a text or take a call and the app refreshes in the backgrounds, oh well. You’ll have to spend that energy all over again just to finish the stage. I just had to spend an entire day’s worth of energy to finish a SINGLE STAGE because of this. Sure you can earn a couple energy back, but it’s very limited. I really really want to love this game. I played it for hours, for a while there was no issues; the levels were mostly completable if you really wanted to, the variety in levels was refreshing and the art is so adorable. However, a few days ago I’ve been unable to connect to the server. Unable to connect to the server cuts you off from about a third of the game, and such portion is also where you could obtain exclusive cosmetics. Some of select mini games were my favorite parts of the game, which is why I find it irritating that my placement is gone. Instead of having an option to outright BUY a full version of the game, you have to pay for more energy every single time you run out of it - which is quickly - or watch ads. Plus after the 2nd World, most levels are timed, which drains your energy like crazy. This game would usually garner a 4-5 star rating because of how fun it is and how great it looks, but this thing is nothing more than a money trap. Plus it requires you to constantly be connected to their network, so it also eats up all your data while you play. ✓ Energy refill takes too longI figured out how to change it from the foreign language back to English from the settings. The game is cute and has challenging levels so far. However, the energy refill is currently outrageous. You get one refill every 20 minutes. So that’s at least an HOUR (a lot of time two hours) wait between each level you can play. ON TOP OF THAT, I have to have the app open for it to count down. I had closed my IPad, returned an hour later, and only had one energy still. Leveling up should at least refill the energy for you. Most games this style give you an energy energy 5 mins or so. Also I saw other reviews where the developer replied about a FB page. ✓ Charming time waster.Fun and occasionally infuriatingly challenging. The music is driving me nuts, I play with the game muted. Some of the matching games are impossible for someone that that, for instance, has no idea what a Chinese Pudding is. Unfortunately, the latest update switched the game from English to Characters with no obvious way to change things back to English. This makes a number of the puzzles impossible. Most others are still playable even if I can’t read the text, though the “hints” are useless. I am an adult but it is still disconcerting to play a children’s game and get gory or adult oriented ads. Bad form. I was hoping for more of a story, considering a big deal was made in the intro to set up a storyline. I have only seen reference to the story in 3 of the puzzles. It offers a mini tutorial right away, with like loading screens in between. The reason I gave it one star is because after I did the first tutorial part ( about 2 mins of gameplay) it moves to a loading screen and then boots me out of the game. ✓ First 2 stages fun.This game was very fun for the first two stages. It was fun zooming in and looking at the cute artwork trying to find a variety of items. After completing them at all difficulties, the next stages became searching for items that were the same with only minor differences (A pumpkin with a candy cane, a pumpkin frowning, a pumpkin without a mouth). As the difficulty increases the levels become timed and they add distracting effects to make it harder to find the same 3 things with little differences. ✓ Cute, but slow energy regen and no server connectionI've really enjoyed the classic levels of this game! I like getting familiar with the scenes and trying to find all of the objects in the higher difficulties without looking at the list first. The art is cute, and there's a lot to do. Unfortunately, the time it takes for energy to regenerate is a bit excessive. For the "casual" levels (that are just stressful once they become timed), it takes an hour to regenerate the 3 energy it takes to play them. For the "classic" levels? It takes a whopping two hours and 40 minutes to regenerate the 8 energy it takes to play them. That's just too much. I did buy more energy once, but immediately after... The server connection died. And it hasn't been back in days. I was playing the game on two devices, but now I can't sync my progress between them. I also can't play half of the modes anymore (Survival, Blitz, etc.), because they require a connection to the server. The Facebook group/page for the game is also gone, which seems odd. Anyway, I like the game well enough, but I have to spend most of the day just letting my energy build up enough to play one or two levels. It's a real bummer..Version: 2.91

✓ Network ErrorsTo be honest I’m super sad. I downloaded this game a week or two or ago, and I have loved playing this game sooo much! I’ve appreciated a ton of the features in this game like the attention to detail and the genius ad-skip item. However I’ve been extremely disappointed the last few days because for the last few days I’ve received a Network Error every time I open the game. Sometimes it just fails to load completely, other times it is able to launch but have no network capabilities whatsoever. I’ve got pretty good wifi and have tried restarting my phone, the app, and the wifi countless times but without fail it has happened every time. So sad because I enjoy the game ESPECIALLY the network features and games (endless grocery store🙌🙌) and I just want my game working again. 😢 Edit: the network error STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED this needs to be addressed ASAP, the network features add so much more fun and content to the game. ✓ Bought game - no network connection?THE NETWORK CONNECTION BUG IS A KNOWN ISSUE, BUT YOU’RE STILL SELLING THIS GAME. When I pay for the full version of a game, I expect to be able to try out every feature. This network error issue, that I now see MANY of us are having, isn’t ok. I tried: switching log-ins, changing WiFi and data sources, reinstalling, checking at different times of the day and night... nothing works. I’m glad I only bought the full game for myself. I intended to buy it for my son and husband too so we could play as a family. I’m the test run, and you’re failing. Such a cute game, but I don’t like feeling ripped off. ✓ Timed-levelsHello Dream Detective, I am writing this review to strictly let you know how much many people despise the multiple timed levels that you have allowed and created into this game. I loved this game until I got to timed levels. At first I hoped that there was only the occasional one and that I would not have to play on those terms too often. But sadly, I was corrected. I know that many people feel the same about this and that it most likely causes your game to be less popular. As game creators, I would expect you to know that. ✓ Fun but flawedI really loved the movie themed stages, they were very detailed and the hints went along with a lot of movie references. I expected the game to have more in depth levels like this, but after these stages, and going back to the detective’s house, the other levels only ask you to find 3 different things in a smaller environment with all the same types of items around. I was very excited for this game, but with the less detailed levels, waiting too long to regain energy, and the network connection issues, Im not sure I will continue with it too much longer. I would suggest downloading it for the first few stages and building up some of the castle, but Im sure you will get bored of waiting around to play lack luster levels..Version: 2.91

✓ The game is beautiful, but of course it has its CONSThe game itself, is really nice I can’t complain about that, but here’s my little review. 1. ADS - This isn’t one of those games were the ads just pop up, no. In this game, almost anything you want or need, watch an Ad. Want a new piece of clothing? Watch an ad to unlock it. Need energy? Watch an ad. Want to play the next level ? or need more time ? Watch an AD. Not very fun if you ask me. (you can always buy AD FREE passes) 2. ENERGY - It’s usually takes 3 or 6 energy to start a level. On a “casual level” it’s 3 energy. You have to find 3 Items. It takes me less than one minute to find these items but it takes 30 MINUTES FOR ONE ENERGY ? So to get those 3 back, I have to wait... and hour and a half. When it took me no more than 3 minutes to play the level. My energy maxes out at 30, meaning I have to wait 15 hours for full energy. Displeasing to say the least. ( you can buy energy as well ) 3. REPRESENTATION - On the levels it has many characters of different shades. There should be an option to pick out a skin tone for your character..Version: 2.91

✓ Great base but too money focusedThe storyline is cute and and the achievements are fun as well as looking for the hidden things (that I won’t spoil) along with repairing a old castle. However there are many flaws such as having so few energy that it is impossible to play more than two or three levels at a time, with no way of replenishing the energy other than waiting, watching an ad that gives you 3 and you can only use four times a day or paying money. Normal levels cost 6 energy to play so you can only play two levels with that before you have to wait over 10 mins for a single energy or pay money. There should be other ways to get energy such as leveling up replenishes your energy as this is not happening now or just make people pay for the game as it is now it’s so money focused its hard to see the good about it..Version: 2.8

✓ Fantastic Game—AbandonedSeems to be that the developers abandoned the game. The server connection has been down and there haven’t been any updates for months. I’ve been playing offline/disconnected for a while and the issues related to this are piling up. I keep earning the same outfits and elves, but it’s not recording half of the ones I discover through game play. I definitely found elves in the levels but it either doesn’t recognize my clicking on them or it acknowledges that I found them but doesn’t show in the log. Stopped receiving my extra energy that I paid for, and pressing resume purchase does nothing. Fantastic game! Awful support..Version: 2.91

✓ Good but bugged...I love the game, especially with the style chosen... it's gorgeous and fun and I would recommend it to others... but every time I click the ad button for a hint, it will play the ad- but then the screen will get back into the game and freeze.. no big deal, exit out and go back in, it uses more energy to reenter the puzzle.. click the ad button, watch an ad, it freezes again... ✓ Love Game, but Freezes on me.Love the game, but I’m having an issue that ticks me off. The energy replenishes every 20 minutes, and I’m not paying for extra. So when I have energy, it’s very valuable to me. I many times have watched an ad to get a hint or extra time, and after the ad, the app will freeze. Totally unresponsive. So I quit the app and restart. Energy that I spent on whatever activity I started is now lost. Big deal when it’s a 6 energy activity and I’m on the last item. I don’t want to spend another 6 just to get this last item...now I have to wait to recharge. 2 hours just to get 6 energy back..Version: 2.8

So I opened the app and it wanted me to sign in with google, but it said this, this app wants to sign in with google and can share information about you on the app and website. I said cancel, and clicked a person icon. But, I had no idea what I was doing, because it was in JAPANESE and I couldn’t read it! So I kept going, trying to infer what I thought it was about, but again it was in Japanese so I couldn’t read it.
