✓ A joy to play until…This game is an undeniable joy to play. It’s fun, calming and fairly simple. Gorgeous art style and simplistic story telling up until the chapter where you are being hunted down and shot at. This to me is not ok and imo is an effective deterrent for me to entirely halt on playing it. Yes I realize that it’s an undeniable fact and horrible truth of the gibbon species and that there are monsters in human form that are hunting these beautiful animals. So, in conclusion… 4 stars. Would have been 5 if I wasn’t so heartbroken and turned off by the hunting aspect. There are more appropriate avenues of making a civilization aware and conscious of this situation. A level in an otherwise enjoyable game is not one of those avenues. That is all..Version: 1.3

✓ BeautifulThe game is fun and impactful, the animation is spot on and simple, yet complex. It imitates the movement of and actual gibbon and other animals. I would love to see a new story and maybe new character. The story it has and the impact it leaves are powerful. A gibbon losing its mate, though in this game fake, is very true in real life. People tend to think from this that gibbons only experience this but even the game shows many other animals experiencing this. Not only in South America does this happen but also many other continents like Africa, Australia, and Africa. All these countries have beautiful ecosystems that are in harms way because of human greed. But overall this game has led to widespread awareness and fun around the world and maybe should be on the regular apple store for more people to experience..Version: 1.5.1

✓ Literally GorgeousThis game has amazing meaning and has a wonderfully intuitive feel, it lets me be a Gibbon while I play it. The artwork is captivating and the mechanics are very easy to get good at quickly. A lot of activist groups will be overbearing and sappy, the developers of this game definitely did not shove their message in my face, but they subtly showed me how hard the life a Gibbon is because of a changing world. One suggestion I would make to the developers is that occasionally the Gibbon will be completely out of view when either walking in certain areas or when swinging in certain areas. This isn’t a huge deal but a slight camera angle change would be nice in those situations. Love the game and I can’t wait to see what future changes the developers will make. ✓ Made me cry😭😭😭This game is a masterpiece, but never get it if you are a primate fan. So basically, you’re a monkey with your monkey wife and baby, just swinging around, doing gibbon stuffs. 2nd chapter, you see humans, forest gets dark, and then your tree gets cut down. You have to then run away FROM THE FIRE IN THE DEPTHS BENEATH YOU!! 4th chapter, you run into human civilisation and houses made in the jungle, THEN THESE PEOPLE HAVE THE AUDACITY TO TRY KILL YOU! If you reach the end of the chapter, your wife gets shot by hunters and your baby gets captured. (Didn’t like that, did you?) but after all hope lost, at the 10th chapter, you. Can’t save your spouse, but you save the baby. You and your child run back to the jungle and live their best lifes. (Jk that must have been a trash life) just wait till you see the end section of the game! 10/10, would recommend..Version: 1.8.1

✓ Perfect Game 🤌I recently subscribed to Apple Arcade and was looking for a game to download when I came across Gibbon. This game is one of the best App Store games I’ve played. Whether it be the art, the music, the gameplay, it is a masterpiece. The controls and game mechanics are also really easy to learn and don’t fail to entertain. ✓ Many things to say about this appSo it starts off with a basic story line to teach you how to swing and jump and stuff. Your in the jungle (beautiful art work by the way). Yet you slowly start to see the forest get ruined. SPOILERS AHEAD: there is a fire that happens and you have to escape then there is one part named “concrete jungle” which shows the gibbons having to use power cables and houses instead if trees. Warning the gibbons get chased and hunted down (they are armed with guns) this part of the story was a little disturbing to me. Yet i did not let is really get to me. After completing this game it made me look up gibbons and research about them. It made me very sad to see how little were left currently. (I sent a small donation to help gibbons) this story was worth it yet the reason i took away the a star was because of the hunters. I recommend this game!.Version: 1.5.1

✓ Great game-needs improvementsI think this game is wonderful and have been playing it almost 24/7 but there are some things I think can be done. First of all the story needs to be expanded. I’ve finished this game more than three times and starting to get bored of the same storyline. Second is that sometimes when I’m swinging off a rope across a cliff, sometimes I go to the end of the rope and apparently I’ve died and have to restart from the beginning (in liberation mode). Please fix this. Third for some reason I was escaping the hawk and all of a sudden I teleport backwards and the hawks in front of me. This was recent and has never happened before so please also fix this. Overall this is an amazing game and have even encouraged some of my friends to get it. That’s it from me. One, I think it would be super cool if you added an endless mode with a TON of trees, like elevation wise, in a rainforest environment. This might sound weird, but I played some game I can’t remember when I was a kid that had trees that were unrealistically tall and the different layers did something, i don’t know, but playing this reminded me of that, lol. However, the passing of the yellow gibbon was too much for me and punched my heart out. But unfortunately it is the reality of life. ✓ Just… wowThis is a fun, relaxing, and supprisingly sad game about 3 gibbons. You, a mother gibbon and the baby gibbon. But sadly as you play things get darker from the jungle getting torn down to (not gonna spoil it for you) it’s sad and crazy! Devs, if you ever see this, there’s one suggestion I have. Free roam mode. It’s a game mode where you and many other gibbons go through a jungle which is a loop (you can see the other parts and monkeys in the background) I just thought take a break from (spoiler) and go back to the relaxing days of chapter 1. ✓ Addictive gameplay and Moving StoryDownloaded on a whim and the gameplay was simple enough to really get into. Love trying to maintain speed and collecting all the animals after the story is done is a nice add on to an already fun package. However, the story is massively impressive and surprisingly moving for a game that features no voice actors or subtitles. The controls were a little hard to fathom out at first, but soon became intuitive - try not to overthink when you first play, just swing through the trees and release just before you reach the end of a branch. I never realized how much humans have hurt and killed gibbons for poaching, and destroying habitat. This game made me think more about Gibbons and there life of something i never knew about. Or green? What I’m saying is I prefer pinks story because it HAS a story! Maybe if lilac had a more interesting story instead of liberation? Or maybe if they get caught and sent to a city where they have to get back to the forest! Or even if they have to escape a lab so it shows the barbarity of animal testing. Just a few ideas though! I have finished chapters 1-10 and now I’m playing with Lilac. I love the art and the Gibbons color, I also think it’s really cool and fun when you can swing from vines. When I am playing with Lilac, whenever I free an animal from its cage, the game always kicks me out. Can I just do nothing and the character keeps advancing? Can I go near the humans or will they hurt me? Is the character escaping something? Are they just swinging for fun? How long is a level? If I quit, is my progress saved? What constitutes a level anyway? Just some arbitrary point on the map? Or a certain distance or change of scenery? It is not as fun to trod through the burnt sections, cities, palm fields, and the other human-related biomes. It then delves into heavier topics of deforestation, human encroachment, poaching, etc that can be applied toward a ton of species. I think it’s a really important game, and the research was done with care to accurately depict what we, as humans, are doing to the precious wildlife of this planet. At the end, the developers even took the time to link you to some charities who dedicate their time and your funds to helping Gibbons, specifically, and to educate you on their plight. Here are some no brainer update ideas: • Add a mile marker to how far you can travel in liberation, so you can always try to beat your own high score. • Add some kind of point system, like collecting special kinds of fruit. This way, you can use it to update your home tree.
