Mozilla VPN - Secure & Private for Positive User Reviews

A Perfect VPNIt is very easy to turn on/off and select the location you want to mimic. Internet speed is fast. What more could you ask for? It’s a great price too. I’ve used several other VPNs they required a year’s payment in advance. This is just as good or better. Highly recommend!.Version: 2.2

Mozilla as always … the bestI really don’t want to jump up and down about Mozilla, because if you use it you already know. But for those that haven’t been through the evolution of Mozilla you should check it out. It was the best at every upgrade. This is no different , a relevant reliable extraordinary product from this amazing company that I trust to protect my privacy and my computer. They have been doing it for me maybe longer than you have been here. Ok I’ll jump up and down , in my mind …. Cheers.Version: 2.10

Great so farI had NordVPN for 3 years and PIA before that. So far this is better. Always had annoying random connection issues with Nord, and connection speeds are better on this so far. Most of all though is it’s a company I trust and like to support. So many sketchy VPNs out there. Cons right now are that it’s a very bare bones app, I hope we get a few features/options..Version: 1.0.7

Needs some workSo far I’m having issues with it actually grabbing an internet connection and the app has to be force closed before it’ll display that it’s connected. It’s a little iffy on my phone (iphone 12) and can’t seem to get a connection at all on my iPad pro. Works great on desktop so I know it’s there, hoping the compatibility issues will be smoothed out!.Version: 2.3

A VPN Deal For The PriceI’ve had no issues thus far. It is reasonably fast. The user has to try different cities for best speeds. There are a pretty limited number of server locations but it gets the job done. The app will not automatically find your optimal connection as Nord does and you cannot select from different servers at a destination but for basic VPN needs its all there. It works as advertised and the price is a steal. I’m waiting on the Mac version..Version: 1.0.6

Simple and reliableVery straightforward to use and very reliable. Never had a connection problem..Version: 2.12.0

Reliable Connectivity after recent UpdateI signed up during the time when connectivity was still spotty but I figured there were still kinks to work out given that they were also still working on Mac OS support. I don’t regret it though. Ultimately solid VPN. Does what it should. Plus the spotty connectivity was resolved with the latest update. Before the update, I would have to disconnect and reset the connection whenever I would be in and out of service areas or if the phone was locked for a prolonged period of time, but now it just picks back up right where I left off. I knew Mozilla wouldn’t disappoint..Version: 2.5.1

Get Your VPN Now!!!I have been with Firefox for years and l have never been disappointed with all their labors. Always raising the bar and getting out the kinks!!! When l discovered the VPN l was over joyed. Mozilla and all their products are number 1 in my book..Version: 2.12.0

Reliable after software updatesPreviously I could not use Mozilla VPN because it would randomly disconnect. But now they have it fixed and I’m finding it to be easy and reliable. Occasionally I have lack of an internet connection that is corrected by disabling VPN but this is rare..Version: 2.4.0

Works Well MostlyWell designed app, easy to use. My only complaint is that some sites, especially those using Cloudfare, block me as suspicious unless I disconnect from the VPN. But this may be true for all VPNs..Version: 2.8.2

Great when it works (UPDATED)UPDATE: After this recent update, the app is working great and as expected! PREVIOUS REVIEW: I love Mozilla and what they stand for which is why I wanted to use and pay for their VPN service. I haven’t had an issue with the desktop version. On this mobile version however, I have to connect and disconnect from servers multiple times before I can use it reliably. When it works, it works great. But I shouldn’t have to jump through unnecessary hoops to use the service I’m paying for. I will continue to use it because I love their mission, but I hope this gets fixed and becomes more consistent soon..Version: 2.10

Cannot fault this VPN and the mobile app in particular.I recently bought this VPN as it looked good value for money and initially installed it on my Mac. Most of my internet use is by phone now and I therefore downloaded the mobile version. I find it easy to use, it works well and is just there in the background. I’m incredibly pleased with the software and the ability to use it on different devices just works. One of my best downloads..Version: 2.17.1

Good but needs more growthAfter testing the VPN for a week and a half I can say it’s fairly reliable. It’s missing some features that being said it is a new VPN. I’ll be interested to see what features they bring in the future and hopefully diversified themselves from other VPN providers. I missing key feature I feel is crucial is there’s currently no trial available. Even if only a week was offered it would be hard enough of a chance for someone to test out and see if they like the service..Version: 1.0.6

Support a good non-profit and the only non-sketchy VPNLet’s be honest - the VPN industry is sketchy and riddled with scandal, unethical marketing, and shady corporations. Mozilla is a non-profit with a literal DECADES long track record of supporting privacy and open-web/open source principles. It’s not the cheapest, doesn’t have the most servers, and maybe not even the fastest (although it’s very fast) but it’s on a very short list of VPNs I am willing to put my money behind..Version: 2.8.2

Works great, no spam emails either!App does as described. Very easy to use. Installed on multiple devices and os with no issues. The best part is i don’t get product spam emails like other brands I’ve used.Version: 2.7.0

Simple and quickGood VPN that respects privacy. Less bloated than lots of other VPNs. The one thing it needs, though, is an auto connect option..Version: 2.0.3

Works but not for all iOS appsAm using this now. Works quite well and a good name. Had some issues with Dropbox on my iPad, needed to shut it off the. If this is a common issue, please fix. Otherwise can’t complain..Version: 2.3

Simple to useNot qualified to assess the security, but it’s easy to use and fast enough to support video streaming so really does all I would need on a tablet device. A no-brainer since I was already paying a subscription for using it on my PC..Version: 1.0.6

Seemingly perfectMozilla is doing its best work in phone apps these days. (Firefox Focus is great.) The Mozilla VPN iPhone app is far better than the macOS version, which is unreliable. The iPhone app’s connection never drops, data transfer is fast, there are no DNS leaks, the UI is simple and easy to use, and the app uses no measurable power while the phone is asleep and almost none when it’s in use. Since I don’t use streaming services at the moment, I don’t mind Mozilla VPN’s inability to unblock some of them. An exemplary app..Version: 2.16.1

Fast and beautiful UiI am loving this VPN.Version: 2.13.0

Brilliant!Very much impressed!.Version: 2.8.2

It’s getting betterI’ve been using this since it was released and it was buggy and unreliable for quite a while. Recent releases have really improved it and I’m glad it’s noticeably better..Version: 2.13.0

Love this VPNI have always been a fan of Mozilla and their mission. This is just a better version of the other popularly advertised VPNs on the market. I’ve been using the app for six months and I haven’t noticed any of the issues mentioned in the older negative reviews. My one complaint is the lack of a “dark mode”, which is not just for preference, it is also a pretty basic accessibility feature. I really dislike looking at an all white screen. Due to my profession, I often work in total darkness. Having to open an app to an all white screen is jarring and unpleasant, even with the brightness turned all the way down..Version: 2.10

Easy setup, works well, but……I wish I had the option of using my local DNS server. I run Pi-Hole on my network to block ads and trackers, and I have to give that up when using Mozilla’s VPN. There would be privacy implications to allowing it, but I only use this service to spoof geolocation, and it’s annoying to have to give up my filtering to do so..Version: 2.3

Occasional issues, mostly fineThis VPN comes after testing several others that came with their own issues and this so far has been the best. There might be a better one, but no major issues here. Speed, simplicity, working with other apps, and ease of login all put it high on my list. Security and privacy of the parent company is hard to beat. The worst issue is that it sometimes won’t turn off and I have to go into the system settings and disable all VPNs. This is rare but annoying. Apart from that, it’s worked fine on my windows and iOS devices..Version: 2.15.1

FastExcellent so far. Throughput and latency as good as our plain home connection: 230Mbps and 13ms unloaded / 29ms loaded. Will update if my experience should change..Version: 1.0.6

Mozilla respects their users. Most software companies these days throw users into the fire and provide a few web pages they can read to try and extinguish themselves, but Mozilla clearly spent a lot of time making their VPN a clear and understandable app that also provides advanced functionality. Additionally, I can tell the development team is constantly assessing user feedback and rapidly iterating based on it. I submitted a survey recently that mentioned it would be convenient on desktop to not need a browser to sign in, and seemingly someone actually read that and changed it so good on ya Mozilla. Paid or free, Mozilla products are always worth it..Version: 2.12.0

Very good for price pointSo far, I’m happy to have this very affordable tool available - particularly at public Wi-Fi spots like coffee shops and airports. If you don’t understand why that is important, I would advise you to just cut to the chase and purchase this inexpensive peace of mind. Then, invest the time in the research you have avoided on encryption algorithms and the pro/con of one hop or two. This is a wise move..Version: 2.12.0

Works great!Simple to use, seems to be working well and allows 5 devices. It’s also a plus that it goes to support Mozilla/Firefox. Currently using it on iPhone, iPad, and windows laptop with zero issues so far. If you going to get a VPN service, give it a try..Version: 2.10

Go Mozilla! The app is really good and integrates well with IOS. In terms of VPN’s this is probably one of the better options on the market and is backed by Mozilla. Connection is good, especially for a VPN. Sometimes my school wifi won’t work with the VPN but that has more to do with my university than the VPN itself as no vpn works. When outside of my university I always have this VPN on and it got a good connection and doesn’t hinder my internet performance over wifi or cellular..Version: 2.8.2

Ignore the negative reviews!I have had many VPNs, before they were cool! And I have to say that Mozilla VPN has great options on the app and doesn’t throttle or slow down when using it. I use it across all my devices and the price is unbeatable! I may be biased as I prefer any Mozilla product as what they stand for, but hey this VPN gets the job done!.Version: 2.3

Not quite there yetWhen it works it's excellent, but too often it fails to re-establish a VPN connection after a spell offline and I find myself having to manually re-activate the VPN connection. Perhaps I was spoiled by my previous VPN software, which was excellent at auto-connecting, but to my mind this is something a VPN running on a tablet should be much better at. Apart from that gripe, it's a very satisfactory VPN. It amazes me that Apple don't build a VPN service into iOS/iPadOS but as long as they don't this is 80% of the way there. Improve auto-connection and that'd get to 95%. (To get to 100%, they'd need to let me add domains to a whitelist within the VPN so I could avoid needing to manually disable my VPN and then remember to reactivate the VPN afterwards when I hit a domain - typically a site featuring streaming media - that won't work when I try to connect through a VPN.).Version: 2.1.0

Good, as far as it goesIt’s pricey, but the easiest VPN I’ve found. Installs and works properly right away, At first, I was worried about laxity in blocking ad. But I can use Adblock’s DNS. Works great. Best to deselect uploading data to Mozilla — read its privacy statement. Now if Apple would only open Safari to tougher extensions, especially fingerprinting countermeasures..Version: 2.7.0

Good, simple and compact. But…For starters: The app itself is fast, compact and simple. Hopefully they don’t add unwanted features and fix stuff that isn’t broken. The VPN itself is brilliant: fast to connect, so fast to use also that I usually forget it’s on, stays secure/connected. But it is early days and server load won’t be too high yet, rest of this year will be quite telling. HOWEVER. There’s NO INTEGRATION with Firefox browser on ANY devices. This makes ZERO sense whatsoever and I subscribed on my laptop assuming that the most basic feature would be there… There are simple extensions for numerous VPNs, but Mozilla doesn’t have one for their OWN browser? Not even an extension, if an having it as an inclusive feature is out of bounds. Or at the very least have a separate VPN-incorporated browser!! Can’t even begin to question the logic behind this… it would be a huge selling point and very useful for many who don’t wish to install Mozilla VPN. I have no idea how this isn’t a thing given they advertise it on Firefox..Version: 2.14.0

Simple and stableVery simple and single-click-to-work vpn. Trust mozilla’s reputation. can still access chinese website when connecting vpn outside china, while other famous vpns cannot, maybe their traffic are blocked by GFW..Version: 1.0.6

Very good choiceIt is fast, simple and there is no anual commitment. I’ve been using it for two month now and I’m very happy with it..Version: 1.0.6

Free and open web championThere’s no reason not to go with Mozilla which has a proven track record of touting a free and open web. Your money directly funds important web initiatives that we desperately need today..Version: 1.0.2

Good, with some flawsLove most of the app. My only problems are speed and the difficulty to keep it up all the time. Running speed tests (wifi) my speed plummets from about 600 Mb/s to about 50 Mb/s when I turn the VPN on, which isn’t too bad, but if that ratio is true for slower connections, that would be problematic. The bigger problem is that the VPN turns off after a certain amount of time, and I have to manually turn it back on. I haven’t figured out a trigger for the VPN turning off, but I feel that I shouldn’t have to always nudge it to be sure that i’m protected and private..Version: 1.0.6

Unobtrusive and efficientDoes the job quietly and efficiently in the background. Even better it’s good value and comes from Mozilla.Version: 2.0.3

Not working any more 10/22After working perfect app connects but no internet. tries measing with settings but nothing. its been months and no update. very dissapointed. using newest ios on apple 11 phone After recent update and disabling “Tunnel VPN through port 53” i began getting through the internet thank god it was 2 months w/o vpn.Version: 2.10

Very ImpressedTwo main pros relate to major issues with most VPN programs: 1) This VPN is INSANELY simple to use—nothing like the arcane beasts I’ve dealt with before. You country and city you want to have your network in, flick the switch, and you’re off! 2) So far, I don’t notice a particularly strong drain on the battery, even if I have it on all day (although, I just updated my iPhone, so it’s got a pristine battery rn). We’ll see how this lasts. Only con is PRICE: $5 a month is pretty steep! I guess it comes down to how much you value your internet privacy, but Mozilla might consider at least offering a yearly subscription at a meaningful discount..Version: 1.0.6

Not on older iPad minis, well on newer devicesOn older generation iPad minis, VPN stats and crashes immediately. App Store says it is supposed to work on this iPad. Newer devices it works beautifully on, but still allows access to my locale info. Must disable location access to apps in Settings in addition to turning on VPN..Version: 2.5.0

Easy to use VPNMozilla VPN has been a solid VPN solution for me. I appreciate the global options and there are some nice built in features like the speed test. 4 stars because the app didn’t work correctly on install. I reached out to support and was assisted and the app connection issues were resolved. Apps (paid!) should work upon install but luckily support was helpful..Version: 2.16.1

Great simple app some tweaks neededThe vpn icon is not readily visible in latest iOS. There should be a Ui method to alert users that a vpn disconnect has occurred. Or a kill switch. Secondly, allow local network traffic should be more granular as local network are not all safe. Able to print or file share but not broadcast advertise or stream for example..Version: 2.12.0

Every one on the internet needs this.Awesome App that every one using the internet should have, highly recommended downloading and installing this App wether you understand it or no, you’ll make the internet a much safer place for all of us..Version: 1.0.6

Good productI’ve been using this app for a little while now and I’m generally very pleased. My only complaint is sometimes I have to take down the app because a different app I want to use won’t recognize me with it up. I think it has to do with the feature that masks my IP address. Luckily, the app is compatible with the banking I need to do, and that was one of my primary reasons for getting it. Well worth a try..Version: 2.6
