HIIT | Down Dog for Negative User Reviews

Great but…Can we have a next move preview for five seconds, in a pop out or something, before it starts? Also, a three second transition period would be great as you lose exercise time in the transition time. It’s a great idea and I have no idea how easy these things would be to integrate but I would use this app over classes every time if it had these features. At the minute I use of when I can’t access classes..Version: 6.4.0

Over complicated.I found the exercise over complicated, rather than just sit ups followed by glute bridges, it’s one sit up and then one glute bridge. Actually that’s far simpler than this does. I spend for 45s to 1 min figuring out what the hell I’m supposed to be doing before I even get started and even then there’s so much time wasted moving between the individual move you don’t actually work anything out. And then they have the cheek to repeat and exercise to add another complicated thing on. I like mixing it up but to the extent I’m actaully missing it isn’t worth it. I also have a two physios and a PT in the family who I showed it to and they were very shocked that there is no explanation on anything especially when it’s needed on trickier ones. A simple squat is not explained and we all know that that’s something people mess up all the time giving them selves bad knees or backs, also be nice for an alternative to be explained if struggling like in the down dog app for yoga. Really not impressed..Version: 5.5.2

ProblemWhy HIIT takes sooo long to download? On my phone and also on my computer...Version: 6.8.3

Flexible but thinLots of flexibility in terms of level/timing/music—you name it, there’s a lever to dial. But be warned: there is virtually no instruction within the exercises themselves. You just have to watch the demo and then do it. The narrator doesn’t really even say which muscles the move is targeting, let alone any advice about how not to do it. I’m afraid the risk of injury is pretty high if you are not familiar with how to do these exercises properly. Many if not most of them were either new to me, or new variations. I was pretty disappointed in that aspect. Production values high on both the video and app features, just missed the mark on instruction. I’ll keep trying it out… until I injure myself..Version: 6.0.0

Really disappointing updateI think owners of this app do not seem to grasp the fact that many people don’t sign up for just exercise sake. Set up, instructor and general feel are critical factors. That’s why we often travel to gyms further afield to follow our favourite instructors. Half way through my subscription they decided to change everything I liked about this app, it’s simplicity and even the instructor who was just a normal human being and not some buff model who spent kindergarten years in a gym. I am really annoyed that they would make such a huge change without thinking it through. Had no choice but to ask for a refund. Back to square one seeking an app that’s a bit more realistic..Version: 5.4.0

Down Dog HIIT SuggestionsThis program has good start however there is no space between reps to reposition. Some HIIT programs spend about 3-5 seconds announcing the next move with a demo in the corner of the screen and then a count down. Example: “Butterfly Bridges…in three, two, one.” That way the transition is easier especially between floor to standing and you can grab weights. Right now you lose reps in the beginning or your form gets sloppy. I know its all computer generated but your programmer should work on that. Another suggestion would be to have a speed control so you can lower the rate a tad. This would make it more accessible to the slightly older but generally fit group of participants..Version: 6.6.0

Not a Beginner ExerciseThis is not for beginners to any program. Many of the exercises are too difficult for people who are starting out or have limited flexibility. It also does put some strain on the knees (which was what the point of this exercise was trying to avoid), and it is hard on people with shoulder issues. Not recommended..Version: 6.2.1

Keeps freezingMy wifi is the best on the market, and I use several different apps in my gym. This is the only app I know that keeps freezing of the 5 I’ve used in the past 4 months - I won’t bother again.Version: 6.0.0

Not Beginner FriendlyThe app says it s beginner friendly but I chose the starting level in the movements, I could not do it in any way . I have used Down Dog Yoga app and yoga app is way better . The application interface is successful and easy, but I cannot say the same for the exercises and the speed of transition between exercises..Version: 6.8.1

Downloading. The app takes a long time to download. Why is this?.Version: 6.8.2

To complicatedAs someone who has just started to exercise I found the exercises too complicated. I have all my settings on the easiest yet was doing 3 step exercise with kicks, lungs and twists all in one. Physically this is too challenging for me as a beginner- basic lunges would be enough. But also as someone just starting to excercise I found all the steps to complicated and spent half my time watching the video working out what he was doing rather than actually doing the exercise. I also what the yoga and barre apps which are much better- beginning stages are beginner levels..Version: 4.8.1

I need to pay to stay fit?Staying fit is so detrimental to one’s health, and being in a family where diabetes runs in our genetics having to pay after a month is just disappointing, having money issues doesn’t help either. I just want to stay fit and this app was really helpful to begin with but I can’t afford to pay just to exercise..Version: 4.9.0

Tried for first timeI’ve been using the Down Dog yoga and Barre apps since teaching became crazy a year ago and they have been absolutely amazing and so helpful for me to stay in shape and keep a clear mind. I couldn’t thank the developers more for making these apps free to use while COVID is rampaging. I do, however, want to note that I tried this HIIT one for the first time this morning and no matter what I tried, the app could not connect to the internet. I updated and checked my cellular settings and tried several times, but nothing got it to work. Wondering if my phone has updated beyond the app or something. I wasn’t sure how to send feedback through the app so I wanted to say this here. Really excited to try it when this issue gets fixed! I’m using an iPhone 11..Version: 5.6.0

Amazing! But fix issues.I used this app for almost a year and was very impressed. Choose the exact length of time for workout and what you want to work out. In mid July 2022 I started having issues with the app. I would choose rotation and it would do a circuit. The choices I was making at the beginning weren’t sticking. Now when I open the app and hit start, it says there are internet connection issues, when I just used the Yoga app from the same company with no issues. I emailed customer service numerous times with only one response saying they made an update so maybe it would fix the issue. Now I’ve figured out another workout option without using this app because it’s not working correctly. It was great in the past so I would try again if it were fixed..Version: 6.3.2

Cool down optional time pleaseI love all of the down dog apps but having spent 9 months barely leaving the house my osteopath says I need to do more than just yoga. So am using this app - love it all apart from there doesn’t appear to be a cool down option. I rarely exercise but know warm and up cool down are essential but I would prefer something integrated into this app. So a bit like the end of down dog where you can programme a time for peaceful time. His app could do with an option of programming a timer for cool down with some moves to follow..Version: 5.6.0

Please offer single app subscriptionsI’m very disappointed that you have to subscribe to all of them, not affordable, logically or supportive of those in lockdown. I thought I loved this app and would recommend it to friends. That’s when I thought you could subscribe to 1 app, I thought I had finally found a way to simple and affordably do exercise at home, when I was trialling this app it finally snapped me out of a slump. But now I can’t use it because I have to subscribe to all of them, it doesn’t make sense and it’s not affordable. I really don’t think many people need all of them, especially those starting out. During the pandemic you’d think companies would make an effort to make at home works outs more accessible. Won’t be recommending it anymore. I’ll be switching by to a more affordable option..Version: 6.0.0

Used to be better - user experience deterioratedI’ve been using this app (including the yoga app) for almost two years now and I’ve loved it for most of the time, especially for the fact that it’s not the exact same work out every time. Having said that, I am disappointed that despite being a loyal customer and frequent user I haven’t been able to get a response from their customer services whenever I’ve had a question or provided feedback - especially as I was trying to help improve the user experience! More recently eg, the app has been running much slower and there are several glitzes. Also the hiit+treadmill combo (I was a big fan!) just simply disappeared from the app with no explanation. Bring it back and respond to your customers!.Version: 6.4.0

Used to be amazing, now it’s nearly useless to meThis was fantastic when it first came out. Long periods of military deployments and quarantine for the deployments were passed achieving offline workouts cached before departure so valuable welfare comms data wasn’t burnt on workouts. Then all of a sudden you can’t download workouts for offline use. Downdog have completely neglected a market who doesn’t have 24/7 network access and found their products very useful. I’m very disappointed, particularly as I have paid my 12 months up front..Version: 6.1.1

FrustratedThis app *should*/*could* be amazing. The workouts are different every time and there are a million different settings to set your workout up to be exactly what you want. The problem I have is that every. Single. Time. I have used this app over the last YEAR something glitches, goes wrong, stops working. Making my HIIT workouts a frustrating experience. - if I try to skip or go back to an exercise it messes up the whole workout. I have to close the app and come back to try and get it working again or start a brand new workout - the music switches from upbeat workout to relaxing yoga halfway through an intense workout - when I try using my own music in the bg the app glitches and the music stops coming through - meaning the other half of my workout is in silence except for the instructor voice ^^this is not all of them. They’re just the ones I experienced over the course of this mornings workout. These are only small things but I experience these or something along the same lines every time I use this app, it interrupts my workout and it’s is SO FREAKING ANNOYING. I so want to love this app, please FIX the glitches. PLEASE..Version: 5.6.0

BeginnerLike the exercises but find it too fast. Even changing position from one side to the other results in me getting behind the instructor and limits my ability to complete each exercise..Version: 6.0.0

Too many different exercisesI don’t mind a bit of variety but too many different exercises means I am having to spend too much time looking at my phone and getting the feel of the exercise, so do t get many ‘proper’ reps per set.Version: 6.1.4

AI generated modelsI used to love this app, used it loads during lockdown. After a break I thought I’d come back to it and after subscribing again I noticed they’ve replaced the human models with AI generated ones which is so so so disappointing! I really dislike following fake humans, it was so much better with real people doing the exercises with you. Please tell me there’s a way to switch the AI off?! I unsubscribed immediately but still I’ve lost £9.99 which is really disappointing - please update your images to truly reflect the app now..Version: 7.0.0

A few things missing- I cant modify the volume of the music. It’s too low - I would like to have the choice to incorporate free waits, balancing ball, straps, etc - no stretching at beginning or end of class..Version: 5.0.0
