Love!Absolutely love this Hiit app and the Dowdog Ypga app. This is so customisable and really easy to use. You can select the duration and how much of each body area you want to focus on. Excellent HIIT app!I have been a fan of this brands Down Dog Yoga app for a couple years already, so when they announced this app, I was excited to give it a try. I was not disappointed at all! This is an amazing HIIT app that already has a lot of features built in like interval and rest time, body part focuses. I loved it, and it kept my heart rate high even on the first level (without burpees). I can’t wait to try the next level up. Give this app a try. Really easy to follow. They show each exercise before the interval starts. I would however recommend they add a warm up times option. It jumps right into the intervals..Version: 4.4.8

Pretttyyy awesomeI’ve never written an app review but this one deserves it. Like many in quarantine, I’ve been looking for a way to keep moving. I am not a solo workerer-outer. I NEED a class, structure, someone to tell me what to do- the whole deal. This app does just that and as if it couldn’t get better it has the added time flexibility. You pick what you want and poof- a fancy algorithm creates an awesome, sweaty workout for you. The workouts are in a great format with all different movements so you never get bored with doing the same thing over and over. This app is AWESOME and will keep doing it after quarantine to save some monies!!!.Version: 4.6.1

Amazing appMy only feedback after three years of using it os to try and have more variety of moves (they are a bit repetitive and I feel thar we are missing out on other great efficient moves) and the option to use both dumbbells and resistance bands or ankles weights etc together..Version: 6.8.3

Pretty great, a couple tweaks would make it spectacularLove it overall, only a couple minor things I would change. Not sure if there is a way to see an overview of your workout ahead of time, but that would be nice for those of us who like to write down each exercise and record the number of reps during rest intervals. Or better yet integrate a way to record reps into the software so I don’t have to by hand. Another helpful thing would be to have more options for equipment. I have a sand bag, jump rope, equalizer bars, and there are a ton of other options for equipment The only options provided are resistance bands, chair and dumb bells, that is very few. Good but has some issuesI’ve been using this for years now (signed up just before Covid 2020) and it’s a good app and generally worth the money. However there are some issues: You need an internet connection for this and you can’t download routines. Not great for travel if you don’t have internet. Have asked about being able to download and no response. They don’t understand what knees are lol. When I select “total body for bad knees” some of the exercises are so bad for knees (switching lunge rotation). Have sent feedback and not much of a response. Why can’t we have all times available? Not sure why I can do 16 mins..Version: 6.2.0

Love all of themI started out with the down dog yoga app and found that it was the best vinyasa app I’ve tried. I discovered their other apps when they sent out a notice they’d be free for a time because of coronavirus (which, you guys rock for that). So now I’ve tried all of them, including this one and love all! They’re simple, have everything you need in terms of options in a streamlined, minimalist package, and I like the movements they give you in all the apps. Nice variety :)I’ve used their yoga app for years but only just tried this for some reason. I really like body weight exercises but struggle with getting bored - this solves that problem! Like their yoga app there is lots of variety, and lots of choice over the length and type of workout. If you find remembering each exercise overwhelming, use circuit mode - you get a heads up before each circuit starts and then for each round after the first you know what you are doing..Version: 5.9.0

Great appGreat app have been using for two years the variety of the workouts is amazing. One inquiry for the developers though, it has been very unstable lately, and todays workout froze four times. It almost never happens with the downdog yoga app, can you please fix this urgently, if needed maybe download the whole session at the start rather than relying on a stable connection with your servers throughout… i may have to cancel my subscription if instability persists. StartedI have been meaning to start this for ages as I enjoy HIIT and I love the Down dog yoga app. To say I love HIIT would be pushing it however I love result that HIIT gives you. One of the best apps made by down dog !!So I’m someone who isn’t athletic at all . I would always try to download an app that could help me workout , but most of them would only provide me with an illustration and a voice coming from a machine . Amazing!This App is simply amazing. It exceeded my expectations. I use it as a substitute to my gym classes due to COVID-19 pandemic and quarantining. I always feel so good after I finish a workout. The simulated workouts are comparable to a personal trainer but also gives the feel of a group workout because I do it with my husband! We are able to get in our workouts before the three children awake. I love the pop music (you have a choice of genre) and the fresh routines. I also appreciate the flexibility of this app to be able to customize my workout intervals, recovery time, dynamic (is circuit rotation v. Isolated muscles), duration, level, etc. Lastly, the App company believes in social responsibility and altruism. They were kind enough to give this quality app for free during quarantine and discounted for students. I have shared this all with so many friends. The only workout app I ever usedThis app literally replaced working out at a studio or gym. I absolutely love that you can tailor each workout to what specific muscle groups you want to target. I have a six pack because of this app. It challenges me and I only have to take less than a half hour out of my day to feel the effects. As someone who does acrobatics for a living, this app made cross training so easy that I wouldn’t pay for another class at the gym again. Stopped Working After UpdateI’ve been using the app since August and never had a problem until I updated the app last week. Immediately, nothing would work: exercises wouldn’t work, I couldn’t change nor hear the narration voices, and the only exercises that worked were the ones I had to download. Best Workout AppI’ve had this app series since March 2020, and it is the absolute best. Not only do you basically have a live DJ playing and changing music based on the exercise, you *don’t* have a tired demonstrator who is talking and leading the exercises the whole time - which is the worst and my absolute least favorite way to work out at home or on the go. I love that there is a narrator who can calming and clearly say what you’re doing and will do next and a demonstrator who isn’t trying to talk to me and “pump me up” the whole time. Incredible valueThe headline price for this sounds expensive, but it is worth every penny. As a headteacher I have meetings in the evenings and many unexpected work events, but then down time in the holidays. The variety of exercise and the way you can reduce it right down in length means you can commit to a habit. I do ten minutes in the morning of barre and ten minutes yoga in the evenings as a minimum. Over the week that adds up to 140 minutes of exercise I would never do otherwise. If I have time or energy I will do workout and longer yoga. Ask yourself how much you would spend for a gym or class, and then go for it..Version: 5.6.0

By far the best workout app out thereI have never managed to use any workout apps before this one. As if you have someone custom making each workout you can adjust absolutely everything to your personal preferences (time, music, how long each section is, whether you want circuits or rotation etc) and strength levels of each body part. I get bored and give up very easily so the fact that this app does rotations, never repeating a move, AND every time I do a workout, even on the same settings, I get a totally different workout. Absolutely genius coding that makes this feel like I’m being led by a live instructor always teaching me new moves every day. Incredible, cannot recommended enough. Beyond worth itI never review apps but I just wanted to let anyone know who is trying to sus out wether the subscription is worth it, it completely is. I was never really into exercise but I got down dog over quarantine to have longer yoga practices and I recently tried out HIIT because it’s not like I’m doing much other than sitting around my house these days. Not only is it super customizable, but it gives anyone who is feeling a little iffy about starting a more intensive workout routine the space to confidently grow. Just what I need, when I need itI've been using the Down Dog yoga app for years, and love the way Down Dog allows me to customize a huge variety of workout features. Now I've added in HiiT to better round out my workouts and hit (pun intended) my exercise targets. Great AppIm high school, I believe a year or two before Covid, I decided to get my self together and do some workouts. I found this app and have been using it ever since. Gyms were always way too scary for me to really enter as I’m fairly small for a guy and have little to no muscle so this app was great for me. Not to mention it’s free for students as long as you provide your student email and school website. Now I’m in college and I’m still using it. I love the pre made workouts and how they time the workouts to really help you. I previously tried on my own to make workouts and it never produced the same results..Version: 6.6.0

Love this whole suite of appsAll of Down Dogs workout apps are fantastic. I started using the yoga one a while ago, but when I started wanting to work out at home I saw they had an HIIT one as well. They are really good at walking you through everything and encouraging you to get that last rep in (or reminding you to breathe during a particularly difficult yoga pose!) I am considering a subscription if I can keep myself on this workout routine I have started. $60 a year is way cheaper than the gym, and I don’t have to make up my own workouts..Version: 6.6.0

Please bring back 7 min workoutI used to love this developers ‘7 min workout app’, it was straight forward cardio moves to get you sweating. This workout version is stressful, all the moves have multiple components and are far too complicated. By the time you figure out what they want you to do the 30 seconds is up and you are onto a new riddle. I love all the other apps from the developers, the best home workout you can get, but please bring back the basics, or least have an option for an old school cardio workout..Version: 5.6.0

Great app - even for New Mamas!I have 2 kids under 2 and this app is awesome. I first love how customizable it is. I can target what I want to work on (full body, core, arms, legs, etc), choose which voice to coach me (Carlos FTW), you can even choose how much you want that “voice” to coach you (I choose the full amount because I like the encouragement and exercise explanations), and best of all you can decide how long of a workout you want to do (minimum 8 min, max 90 min) I’ve been able to do 15 min almost everyday for two weeks now. Even with my two kids!! It feels so good to get moving and this app is so user friendly and better than any other app I’ve used. I’m still in the free trial, which is a really long free trial so I feel like I can really test it out for my lifestyle! I actually look forward to working outI first started using the down dog yoga app, and downloaded the HIIT program while I was stuck in hotel quarantine. Best workout app!I always share this with friends looking for intro to working out but don’t have time for the gym or not able to afford a membership. There’s a lot of ability for customization in the difficulty, length of workout, types of exercises, and even music! I think that’s what separates this app from others! Plus you get access to the Barr, yoga, meditation apps which have all the same level of customization. Great workoutThis was my first workout on down dog HIIT app and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It allows you set the intensity, focus on body parts, set timings - well basically all of it. Good HIIT AppI’m a huge fan of the yoga app and decided to give this one a try. I’m going to be honest and say that I prefer the yoga app. This one has good workouts (doesn’t repeat the same thing over & over) but I’m not really a fan of the music list and I really wish some exercises would have a small explanation how to do them correctly. I spent part of my workout watching the instructor and trying to figure out if I’m doing it right. Also as I mentioned above, I wish there was more of a music variety or maybe I could choose to play my own music? Just a suggestion. **Overall 3.5 stars for now. So flexibleLove the huge range of versions of moves so it’s not too boring, and I use my own play lists. Best feature is the boosts bc I use “no wrists” so I still get a good workout but no painful planks on my sore wrist..Version: 6.2.0

Best appI have used the down dog yoga since April last year and recently found the HIIT and barre apps also by down dog. I cannot recommend them enough! The workouts, the music, the stretching and warm up/cool downs are spot on every time! Being able to slip in a 15 min workout or a 10 min yoga stretch is amazing but when I have time I can opt for much longer sessions. It’s so flexible I love it. Was quite surprised they weren’t included. I’ve given the recent updates time to bed in before reviewing and like others have said, the simplicity has gone, as has a real human being demonstrating the exercises. Many of the exercises are now overly complicated (multiple steps), with viewing angles that make it difficult follow. Sessions have become less HIIT focussed and more like a Pilates season. Really disappointing. Won’t be renewing. Now looking for a HIIT replacement app..Version: 5.5.2

Needs warm upsThis is a good app overall and keeps variety up, although I did find myself missing strength training particularly on upper body days. As mentioned in other reviews, it would be good to have more guidance on the exercise particularly the combination ones. Mostly Great, But Tough for BeginnersI am 50 and a beginner. I find that a significant number of the beginner exercises are probably geared toward gymnasts. I wish there was a way to limit the exercises to “simple movements,” as I just don’t have the ability to do some of these things that combine too many multiple movements, and it is disheartening to have to skip several things each workout. Otherwise, I learn a lot from the workouts and it is overall in a nice helpful format. I love that it is upbeat and encouraging. Great workout - wish way of reducing lungesI have osteoarthritis in both knees so lunges are difficult. There does not seem to be any way to eliminate certain exercises from a routine (like lunges). Good app but need some improvementsI found this app during social distancing just by chance. Good thing was that the developer is providing it for free for extended period of time. I would say that it’s a great app to start. The platform is good , the features are good and customizable. Few things that bug me are: 1) there’s no warm up. The app takes you directly to intense exercises. 2) the instructor seems like a preprogrammed bot. There’s no emotion on his face nor any empathy. I would like it to be with a gym instructor with some human touch. 3) need more guidance that can give specific instructions to the user. Like engage core. Lower your upper body on exhale etc. 4) there’s no cool down option. The guy just walks off at the end of the class. 5) if my work out is interrupted by a phone call, the whole sequence is reset and have to fast forward the video to bring it back to the point where it was prior to the interruption caused by the phone call. Best HIIT app out thereI’ll start by saying, usually, I detest HIIT workouts. I stayed as far away from them as I possibly could but I hit a point during lockdown where I couldn’t even look at myself without feeling so angry that I’d put on so much weight and I knew it was time for a change. I downloaded this app when DownDog were giving lifetime subs for those who downloaded it within it’s first month of release. It took me a while but I am absolutely IN LOVE with this app. It’s so customisable while still helping you categorise your workouts, making them extremely tailored to just what you need. Within the first 2 WEEKS, I noticed a marked difference in my muscle tone. I’ve kept up at it and although I’ve not had the confidence to get out on the road and jog for my cardio, just the app alone has caused me to burn so much weight. I do wish they had an apartment-friendly option for the fat burn workout it this is quite literally my one and only complaint. Best app out there (I’ve tried them all)I have tried just about every workout app out there and there’s a small number of good ones and a large majority of mediocre to bed. This is amazing! Love this appI love this app! I’ve been paying for the membership for over a year and have access to all their apps. The HIIT and down dog apps are my favorite. I don’t feel like I’m doing the same pattern of exercises everyday, I love the customization, and they have so much variety. My only cons would be that the option to cast the exercise isn’t on the starting page. The only issue I have with that is sometimes the app crashes when I pause the workout to cast it on my tv. Then it won’t load and I have to exit out of the app and redo everything again. I’ve been addicted to the circuit option on the HIIT app and it’s so amazing. Just the best for so many thingsI started my experience with Down Dog overall five years ago with just the yoga app. I had tried several different apps, but didn’t like them because I either had to have the knowledge to build my own practice, or the apps were so limited in what variety they would provide. My Yoga JourneyThis app is amazing. I teach middle school students yoga once a week. This app has been a great resource to guide my classes. It’s also perfect for my personal practice. I honestly feel like I’m in a yoga class. I cast my practice onto a smart board and invite friends. At home I can just use my Powerbeats and listen to the audio. The customization of your practice is what initially intrigued me. I recently discovered I can play my own music during my practice and it’s a game changer. I am finally on my path as a yogi. Total game changerThis is wonderful for any person who is busy and it’s been a pandemic workout game changer. The perfect app to workout at home!During this lockdown I wanted to keep myself fit and healthy, as all the gyms are shut. I have started to used first “down dog yoga” without having very few experience with the yoga practice, and I loved it. You can control the voice, the speed of the movements, the kind of music... simple but amazing! Almost perfect…Whenever I choose the Tabata workout, it only uses two exercises… however, when I have it on ‘let us choose’ and tabata is chosen, you use more exercises…. I genuinely love this appI’ve tried the gym, tried personal trainers and I hated every second of it. About halfway through our lockdown I found this app, signed up and got a free month - didn’t expect much, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I’m comfortable with most of the exercises and I have feel like I have an element of control. I like that you can upgrade your work out intensity (by exercise rather than by rep) The only thing I’d suggest is the ability to practice exercises before you do a work out - sometimes I pause to practice a work out once or twice then do the work out. Regardless, It’s now part of my lockdown routine and will make sure I’m using it when I’m able to return to the office. After 10 years of never working out, this changed everythingI haven't entered a gym since my college forced me to for a PE credit in 2010. over a decade with no workouts. then I came across Yoga Buddhi's 7 minute workout app, their yoga app, and their HIIT apps. these literally got me through the hellscape of 2020 and made it so easy and enjoyable to engage in physical movement that I can't imagine what life would be without them. everything is fully customizable so I could take the smallest of baby steps at first and gradually increase difficulty. I haven't been this flexible or agile.....literally ever. my childhood self would be envious that I can actually touch my toes and do backbends now..Version: 5.6.0

Actually got me into HIIT!I’d give this 4.8 stars if possible. Overall it is a fantastic app. I started using it in January and I absolutely hate workouts so I didn’t hold out much hope. However, many months later I am still using it twice a week, alongside my usual runs and swims. I’ve definitely noticed a difference to my strength but the main thing is that I don’t hate it! The fact the workouts are so customisable makes them superb and I even like the option to change the instruction (no time at all for those apps with enthusiastic encouragement, but I know that’s right for some people). I’ve never got bored doing 30 minutes as it’s different every time so it’s easy to fit in after work. My only gripe is the music is pretty awful. If you want something upbeat you’re totally limited to the kind of awful autotune pop which my teenage students are into. It would be really good to have a wider choice of music..Version: 6.0.0

Great variety and customizationThis app keeps it fresh with lots of exercise variety and allows you to do a lot of customization where you can tailor it to what you want that day: harder or easier overall, on various body regions, more or less aerobic. There are also great presets that allow you to choose your workout focus (total body, abs, arms, glutes, aerobic, etc). The BEST Yoga & HITT AppsIf you’re like me and stopped going to the gym when COVID hit, finding these in home work out apps seriously saved me. The yoga app is my absolute favorite but I’m starting to use the HIIT app as well and I’m going to check out the Barre app. All of their apps are included in the subscription!!!! By far the best bang for your Buck out there and I HATE paying for subscriptions but this one is 1000% worth it. They show you how to do the poses and guide you through the workout as you’re going. It is fairly different every time but there is some repetition in some of the yoga poses but it’s still entertaining and not boring like going to the gym is for me. You also don’t need equipment except for maybe a yoga mat but that’s it! I definitely recommend these to anyone! Beginners or advanced! ***update - the HIIT app is fantastic. Great app/ great valueI love all the apps in the down dog family. I started with the yoga one- which is amazing. Super customizable for your time, energy levels and style. The only feedback I have is for the yin style. It would be great if they would cue the poses to hold longer - for at least 90 seconds, in order to get the full benifits that come with a yin practice. I’ve only done short versions of yin so far (15 or 20 minutes) so maybe the poses are shorter for that reason- but less poses for longer would be more beneficial than more poses for shorter holds. I love that with a single yearly membership you have access to the other fitness apps such as hitt, barre, prenatal yoga, meditation and more. I appreciate that if you can’t afford the price of a yearly or monthly membership, they are willing to work with you so that anyone can have access to fitness and yoga without financial barriers. I choose one of the exercises every morning even when I’m short in time and it’s been a game changer in my life. I would highly recommend this app!.Version: 6.6.0

You can use while playing your own playlist - the default in app can be a bit hectic. The only small improvement would be a little bit more specfic explanation of exercises to ensure form is correct..Version: 6.8.3

Great app with lots of control, needs more notes on proper formI love how personalised you can make the workout (intensity, target area, length of workout, length of set, music, weight between music and voice), I love the opportunity to pause the workout if you need a longer break, I like the variety of music, and I love that the visual stays for the length of the workout. The only reason it’s not a 5/5 is as a beginner I would appreciate even just a few notes on correct form, either vocalised or on the screen (e.g feet shoulder width apart for squats, things like your should feel it mainly in {area} of your chest/leg/arm/glutes).Version: 4.6.0

Great workout every timeStarted using this app during the pandemic. I teach a High Intensity Strength and Conditioning class at our local YMCA and I am used to working hard and sweating, which you can definitely do with this app! But you also have the ability to tailor it to your level each and change it every time, if you need a little less (or a little more). Music choices are nice too (or you can choose no music); accompanying voices are good too. So glad I found this app!!!.Version: 6.0.0

You won’t find a better workout appDownDog makes it so much more inviting to get a sweat in when you are not feeling motivated. When you are feeling motivated, you can customize the experience and challenge yourself, too. You can easily tailor the workout to what your body needs. I make use of the Yoga and HIIT apps. Excellent App PackageI downloaded Down Dog during quarantine because they were offering it for free through April. I liked it so much that I paid for the year subscription in May and downloaded all their auxiliary apps (like this one). Down Dog and HIIT are my favorites. They have so many changeable variables to create a new program every single time. Plus their analytics cross all their apps so you can track your physical movement more easily. Super great app and customer support!!!This is an app I’m willing to stick to. Not gonna talk too much about how it’s designed well and everything, but one thing I am super impressed about is when I emailed about how I couldn’t pay for a membership right now because I’m a broke college kid, they emailed right back within 2 days and gave me a free 6 month membership. Perfect for cardio days!Now that most of us are working out from home—this is the perfect app for pairing other workouts or exercising in between commercials while bingeing Love Island. ;) I use this app for my row days. 30 minutes of rowing and 15-25 minutes of straight core work after! What makes this application so easy to use is that you can time your workouts, focus on specific areas and gauge your workouts by the level you are at. Which makes this a little more fluid than Nike Trainer Club (which I have been a user for over 3 years) I’m definitely more inclined to use this app now during my row days instead of NTC. First goDownloaded as mate pinged me. Good first sesh. All mid level settings. I thought it lacked after first few exercises, then it kicked in. Never seen a elbow plank before. Couldn’t do it. Flipped to a front plank and don’t feel bad for it. Sweating like a pig now. Good app. Had to door indoors tho. Watching screen don’t really work outside..Version: 4.7.0

Next gen workoutI love this app it always changes the routine so you don’t get bored and all the workout type options make it easy to fit your workout schedule type. Failure - maybe check your own serverGiving one star. Over and over again saying connection issue “check WiFi”. Using both cellular and WiFi stating check connection. Maybe check your own server and stop blaming the user. Restarted phone, deleted app, reinstalled app, signed in and then went to do a workout. Got 7 minutes into workout and it froze. Then forced me to quit to main screen. Tried starting a new workout and it blamed my connection. Will try again tomorrow and if this is fixed I will give a better rating. Pretty disappointed. All my other apps and phone functions are working just fine on either WiFi or cellular and this app fails ever time..Version: 6.0.0

Stupid cutesy update, great appI’ve used this app since it came out and the Down Dog yoga app for years, and I love them. It’s worth getting. However, the newest iteration of this particular app added all these stupid cutesy touches, like “clever” names for the workout types and emojis. Please get rid of these, or at least get rid of the emojis. The Down Dog apps have been great, simple, not overly complicated apps that still offer a lot of personalization. Now I feel annoyed each time I use this particular one. Please, please remove the emojis at the very least. You’re dating and limiting the app..Version: 5.6.0

Great HIIT app but need some instructionLove the variety of exercises and customisable levels, focus and time etc but the app could do with instructions as to correct form and posture as some exercises, if done incorrectly, could do damage. Best home workout app, love the hiit!Hiit has been a game changer in my workout routine. I have been using down dog apps since they launched their first yoga app, and I use the yoga and hiit on the regular to this day. Love the app!I love this app! I’m an avid gym-goer but given all that’s going on in the world at the moment all gyms are closed. I’m a terrible at home exerciser! At least until this app. It keeps me moving. The workouts are customizable and can be as quick as I need them to be. One tiny adjustment I’d love to see is if the instructor could give more info on each move, such as how to setup for the move, what muscle we’re working, etc. and if they could provide cues throughout each move, such as “focus on pulling in at your core” and things like that. It’s a helpful reminder for me to stay focused on what I’m doing especially since I’m doing this at home and I’m faced with lots of distractions..Version: 4.6.1
