DEEMO -Reborn- for Positive User Reviews

A beautiful new take on the original.Deemo was my first ever rhythm game, and I’m happy to say that I’m impressed with the remake. The character models and animations, environment and dialogue translate surprisingly well to mobile, and the introduction of puzzle mechanics and interactive environment fit well with the aesthetic and feel of Deemo’s world— while even further immersing the player into the fantasy and mystery of the castle. To top it all off, the gameplay is rich, punchy and familiar— and a welcome expansion to what the game has known in the past! Rayark’s early design choices with Deemo and Cytus were sufficient, but lacked identity— and while I was hoping to see some upgrades with the release of Deemo II, I’m more than happy to have a grip on this early taste of what that game may be like. I was heartbroken when I saw the early Deemo: Reborn trailers, I was desperate to give it a try but lacked the hardware— so I cannot explain my excitement when I saw it coming to iOS! I was prepared for the game to have it’s shortcomings— a transition from PlayStation/VR to mobile is a drastic one, but I was thoroughly impressed with the upkeep of visuals and resources. I only wish that I could say the same about the UI. The glaring white of the game’s UI is jarring to say the least, and the progress wheel in the corner of the screen as opposed to the bar at the top takes up unnecessary space and drags you by the leg out of your suspension of disbelief. I have genuinely no idea why they changed it, the percentage progress is completely unnecessary and the overload of information makes the ending screen practically useless— not to mention the choppy, painfully rendered castles that appear after an FC or AC. The text and fast speed of the render genuinely scared me the first time it showed up, and it only makes me upset that THAT is what they decided to replace the original coin designs with. :( Similarly, the individual wheels during the ending screen feels clunky as well. Why not simply show the numbers? I understand the effort, a minimalist, white and clean UI is often praised for the ability to suspend your disbelief— but with Deemo: Reborn, it feels like it has the opposite effect. Too much unnecessary information clogs the screen, but during the exploration segments there’s too *little* information. Exploration is... A slog. I expected that, to be fair, and it doesn’t take away from the central gameplay— but it makes me unexcited to solve puzzles, and even approaching the piano can be difficult sometimes. A more streamlined control system and faster camera speed could fix this issue. Adjusting the camera speed only makes the *end* speed faster, for some reason— which could very well be a glitch, but it’s an unfortunate one. :( Too little of the environment can actually be looked at, and trying to move the camera will throw it into a completely undesired location. To sum it up, this game makes me excited. Excited to experience Deemo through a new lens, but also for the game to improve. As of now, I am happy to explore the game as it is— but I hope that overtime, its shortcomings will be able to become features of the game that I and future players will be able to appreciate. :).Version: 1.0.2

Enjoying this so farI’ve only started playing DEEMO today but it’s really good. The graphics and music are beautiful, but my only wish is that the whole moving system is easier, I feel like it’s very slow compared to other games I’ve played in the past. Still really good..Version: 1.1.1

Interactive/puzzle & Rhythm game.Better then the first game but still having problem calibrate this game which I still can’t hit those correctly on [Normal] mode (maybe it’s the refresh rate on my iPhone SE not good enough)..Version: 1.1.1

Deemo Reborn, a upgrade in gameplay but a downgrade in story.Deemo Reborn has fun puzzles, all be it pretty difficult at times. The core piano gameplay is a unexpectedly needed upgrade. It’s more fluid and easier to read, and much more pretty. But that’s where the compliments stop. My god they butchered the cutscenes, if a Microsoft Power point animation was enough to make people cry, then they have no excuse for having to cut, be sloppy, and overall have really mediocre CGI. The only time the CGI is good is when the producers name is on screen. They ended the game with bad CGI, but the END CREDITS look better than the climax of the story!!! Talk about placing effort in the wrong places. The reason i’ve gave the game 4 stars and not 3 is my expectations were rock-bottom and this game exceeded them. Sorta..Version: 1.1.1

Cant play yet, I trust it’s goodI was really excited when I saw this game and I forgot to read which devices were compatible. I’m not entirely sure, but I don’t think my iPad is compatible because I cannot even get to the main screen without it crashing. Cant wait to play once support is out for it though! 4 seems to be the average rating for this game so I will rate it that so it doesn’t affect ratings too much when I cant play. This just launched so I hope it will be compatible soon, but even if it takes a while I trust it’ll be worth the wait.Version: 1.1.0

First game, but easierThis is the Reborn that you probably played on PC or console but on the phone. The game is still on a six note field unlike the first game. So in a sense this makes Reborn easier than the first now that you can touch screen. At least they added the snowflake note sets back into the Snowflake song. It was missing from the Steam port. But at least I can hear Alice on the go. And cry all over again for the third time on the same story..Version: 1.1.1

Nearly perfect experienceAs the title suggests, the game is pretty phenomenal right out of the gate. The music is as fantastic as I remember from the original Deemo, and the puzzles within the game are fairly intuitive to solve using touch controls. The one major issue I’ve encountered so far is during multiple cutscenes is the animation will freeze up despite the audio continuing without any issue (although I can’t rule out it just be a problem with my phone rather than something in the game itself). Closing and relaunching the game seems to fix the problem so far, but it is slightly irritating to have to do so with about every other cutscene. Other than that, I am absolutely loving this experience so far.Version: 1.0.2

I Love It!! But...I finished this game when months back when it came out, and I adore it! I already wrote a review on how much I love it. However, it recently started crashing whenever I try to open my completed save files, so I can’t max out all my songs. I did try deleting the game and downloading it again, but it started crashing again. Please fix this bug because I really want to keep playing!.Version: 1.1.1

NiceBeautiful game! A mixture of rhythm game and puzzle exploration game with lovely graphics and story! Needs a decent device to play on!😎.Version: 1.1.1

MagnoliaThe game is really well made, but after I finished Magnolia for the first time, the app just crashes. I’m not sure if this is the case for any of the others, but every time I finished Magnolia for the first time in the other save files, the app crashes. I just hope the developers could fix this issue..Version: 1.1.1

Um black screenIt loaded fully but the screen is black...unable to play.Version: 1.0.2

Deemo RebornLove Deemo from the beginning til the end, which I hope there is never end..Version: 1.1.1

Just one problem...The game is AWESOME and I absolutely love the game, but it keeps crashing on me. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or something but all I know is that it needs to me fixed.Version: 1.1.0

Incredible new way to play the original, but...DEEMO -reborn- is a game where you play as a little girl with a very black slenderman thing that plays the piano. Now this may sound not very fun but it very much is. If you’ve played NOSTALGIA in arcades, this is exactly the same, but what sets this apart is the absolutely incredible story and artwork. Only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is it crashes way too much on an iPhone 8. In any other case, amazing game..Version: 1.0.2
