✓ Good game, but crashesI recently downloaded the game and to my surprise it was actually a solid game with some good gameplay and very addictive characters. I have this drive to want to upgrade everything and max them out but it takes time, I love games like that. But these last 2 days I haven’t been able to play the game, my game keeps showing me the initial introduction video and after that nothing, just a plain black screen. I can’t click or see anything. I hear a click sound when I tap around my screen but the game is just crashed I don’t know. I updated my phone, restarted it, checked my connection and even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. ✓ Nothing like the ad or previewSick of these games that show the game to be one type of thing then you download and it's something completely different. The ad and preview pictures both lead you to believe it's something akin to Plants vs Zombies. The arena setup for hero selection is terrible, you do not get to choose which heroes to take into battle, only get a selection of 4 to choose from and they may not even be a hero in your collection which means they will be super weak. But you can try to get to different ones by using a token, of course on that page it may be the same thing again. Should not have to use extra coins to use heroes you own just because they are epic or rare. Game needs a complete overhaul, outcome of battle is based too much on luck of having the best heroes become available for selection. More over not everyone gets the same selection of heroes each round. To make it fair everyone should have to start off the same, unless they fix it where only your collected heroes are available for use..Version: 7.0.1

✓ The new update is nerf-tasticSo I’ve been playing this game for a few months now and I can honestly say that I really enjoy it as a time killer. While whatever algorithm the system uses to obtain a new roll of heroes in a match could be better, I feel like it was at least fair because you could balance out playing against a higher level character by actually having gear equipped. You can’t be upset if someone beats you because you’re too slow to realize that your characters should all have gear equipped, and now that advantage has been taken away by this update. I wouldn’t be surprised if I stopped playing after this, I spent too much time getting gear and equipping the right sets to each character to have that taken away and not be sour about it..Version: 2.0.1

✓ Really fun game, but....So first and foremost I would like to say that this game is lots of fun! The concept, heroes, class and faction synergies, art work and rewards are very great in this game. But why the 3 stars you ask? I would definitely give ABC 5 stars if only the game wouldn’t freeze up and crash. This really hurts your ranking when you’re doing really well and looking to get 1st or second place and then when that timer hits zero for the next battle.........you’re left waiting. Eventually you either close out the game and when you open it back up you get penalized(which is understandable if you close it when the game works) and your ranking points drop. I’ve kept the game frozen and just waited to see if it would fix itself, but instead it pops up with a little note saying there was an error and the game needs to restart. Thinking that the game knows there’s an error you would think you wouldn’t get penalized.....wrong! So I will gladly change my review after this has been fixed hopefully soon in the near future!.Version: 5.0.11
✓ Good game but no App SupportEnjoying the game a lot which is why I am so aggrieved when I had to update to a new version which is broken and won’t let me open the app. I tried to report this to App Support but they have deleted their Facebook page or something so there is just a broken link. At least if you’re going to glitch have some support ready! I’d also like to add that the preview pictures on the site show about 10% of the gameplay. ✓ Deceiving and annoying at timesFirst off, this game is not at all like the advertisements you get. It’s advertised as a defender type of game and it is not. It’s a lot like the mini game in league of legends. Some units need balancing, like Zeus is waaaay to strong. I’m constantly outleveled, so a better matchmaking system would be nice. And please stop hammering your waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced, I mean WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced shop items down my throat. Every time I click something on the Home Screen one or two of your shop items pops up and I have to back out of it. Stop forcing it. ✓ No strategy, all luckThis game claims its about strategy when its not. Theres really no skill to it. Its all about luck. Certain characters are better then others so if your unlucky your opponent keeps getting good characters. This has happened to me quick a bit but ive also been on the other side where i demolish everyone. Theres also a button you can tap that will fix your lineup for you and give you the best chances possible. This option really takes the skill/strategy out of the game. In all honesty all you have to do to win get whatever characters cost more and hit the best line up button. If they dont switch anyone then everyone on your side line can go and hopefully you get more good people. This game is too simple/easy and doesnt require any attention to win. Overall the idea behind the game is nice. It reminds me of the magic chess on mobil legends, which i would say requires a little more skill/strategy but still heavily reliant on luck. If your just looking to pass time and dont want to really get too into what your playing than this is perfect. Also, if you've come to check out this game from the advertisements, then prepare to be disappointed. Its nothing like the ad. This game is F2P but can very easily be pay to win. I would recommend finding another game. Also, if your opponent has Mary then you lost. She has a massive AOE heal and she basically spams it. The most broken/OP character in the game. ✓ Pop up interruptionsI’ve already left a review about this topic, but I’m willing to bet it doesn’t make a difference, I’ve got no reply and rarely see any responses from the developers to comments, if any. My biggest quarrel is that in the midst of a match when your phone receives a notification, such as a 20/10% battery pop up, the match stops and you automatically lose and get sent back to the home page. I was about to win and this is what happened. I’ve lost many matches because of this, and I don’t want to be forced to be conscientious of my battery life or turn notifications off just to play the game. Please fix. I love this game, I spend a lot of time on it, but I beg that this be fixed or I will deem it unplayable..Version: 5.0.11
✓ Highly addictive but constant crashesThe game is well put together, the gameplay is excellent, the artwork is fun and high quality and for players who do not want to spend money it is still extremely enjoyable and easy to compete against others. Here comes my two negatives that made me take a star away for each one. The first is the constant crashing of the app even after the latest update (March 2nd 2021) the game still randomly but like clockwork will crash multiple times during a ranked game causing you to lose out on rewards or sometimes lose out on the ranked game because when you get back on it says you left (I never left the game crashed) and you do not get access to the ranking prizes. (I have tried on iPad, iPad air2 and iphone8plus and all have the same issue) The second is the overwhelming internal “ads” for packs and other purchasable items. While I understand the developers need to make money somehow and deservedly so, I wish the frequency of those “ads” could be decreased a little. They are not videos or external ads, it is internal pop-ups and/or red flags as if you have something to claim but turns out it was an add to purchase something instead. The second part I can get over and is just a preference thing for a f2p player like myself. The crashes are super frustrating and I hoped this update fixed that, unfortunately it did not and it is still the only downside to this game. Well, you see, aside from rankings, there’s no true way of showing that you’re actually playing against all human players... at different times of the day and different days of the week, I’ve noticed I’ve played same opponents at different ranking levels. And then another thing I noticed, how come everyone’s matches end exactly when your match ends? No one else’s ends early and no other matches end after yours... it’s almost like you’re the only match that’s being played. So if it’s true, when how is this app and program so poorly done? If it’s not truly online, and then it’s just simulation of an online game, why does it lag and crash so often? Well.. you see, even a monkey can learn to copy and paste. ✓ Has NOTHING to do with StrategyThis game has nothing to do with strategy. The available characters are given randomly and arbitrarily. So it’s more about luck than anything else. The determination of draws and victories also seem to be arbitrary. What factors are considered to decide who wins a draw? Is it based on the total number of skill points one has? Is it based on the number of characters still on the board? Seems inconsistent, so I’m never sure. Here’s an idea, if both players still have a character on the board, it’s always a draw...makes more sense, doesn’t it? Perhaps the promise of winning through purchasing bonus packages may seem enticing, but I think we all know that a game that requires you to get upgrades to win and not rely on actual skill is a game that won’t last long. It’s skills that get better over time, the bonus packages can only go so far, unless they decide to offer a package that lets you automatically win. But then what’s the point? Buying your way to the top is not the same as developing your character line-up and your skills. Saying this is a great game considering that it’s free is irrelevant. There are plenty of games that actually test skill and ability. Don’t be deceived by a game that lets you win sometimes just because the algorithm is in your favor. ✓ I like it but.....I really want to love this game but there are a couple of flaws that hold it back from being a great game. My main gripe is the constant crashing. Playing in ranked matches and the game will close in the middle of a match. Then I have to hurry up and log back on to see the outcome. SO FIX YOUR STABILITY!! The second is the pay to win mechanics. I’m constantly getting ads for the deal of the day. The chess pass is to expensive. Take clash of clans for example, they have a monthly pass that grants you all kinds of bonuses for reaching milestones and has a free version and a pay version. The main difference is the pay version (gold pass) is only $5 bucks. Your pass mechanic offers substantial less rewards and cost $20 . Besides these few flaws you have a great game but greed won’t see you any long term success. The characters are cool and the opening animation is top notch and humorous. The game is also addicting. The draw for new characters between rounds is random (luck) but it’s what you know about the characters and how you strategize to use them. That’s as far as I go defending this game. It’s true that the ever increasing model of games falsely advertising their product is frustrating. Here is my biggest problem with the game. One of the features I enjoyed is that I could play this game without any player-to-player communication, which in todays society always leads to bullying. The latest update for this game added animated characterizations that has led to players figuring out how to use them to poke fun and bully each other. ✓ Good GameI really like the game. It has a good element of strategy to it, plus I enjoy being able to upgrade my characters. However, it seems to be controlled by luck. In a lot of the games I have played, I end up spending all my points searching for my characters and never being aloud to upgrade even though my opponents are rapidly upgrading theirs. It doesn’t seem to matter if the characters are common, rare, or what, they don’t seem to repopulate to upgrade with any real rate. It is also very difficult to find or get new types of characters. Lastly, sometimes during a battle, I have been booted from the game or the game freezes, which then credits me with a loss because I couldn’t control or interact with my team. This is very annoying. All that said, the game is addicting to play, it has good graphics, and makes me strategize to put the best team together. I like it a lot, just wish some of the bugs would get fixed..Version: 1.1.91
✓ Highly Addictive and Completely UninspiredThe developers have freely admitted that the opponents you play against in the online-only P2P mode are AI. Which I took with a grain of salt because the gameplay was addicting, but once I’d upgraded all my characters to around level 20 (which took a month or so of casual gameplay), I either hit a shameless and aggressive paywall or I more or less reached the end of the developed game. I’m not overly stingy about paying a free game it’s dues. After a few weeks, I coughed up about $20 as a sign of appreciation and in the hopes that I could make marked progress—but a few days later, these AI opponents became unbeatable, and I was winning maybe one game out of ten. ✓ Game needs improvementFirst I want to say at the start it was a really fun and addicting game. After a few days of playing though the real problems come out. Having an auto chess game that relies heavily on the level of heroes and the gear they wear completely makes it more of a pay to win feast once you start to hit ranked. I understand that it’s a phone game but so is teamfight tactics. Completely even playing field from start to finish. Auto chess also has one other problem. If the person in first just keeps winning they completely snowball for the most part. There has always been RNG but if you know which are the better bonuses and which characters are more reliable, you can win top 3 in most matches. Upgraded to monthly subscription for diamonds and used over $30 to get past just the 2nd world. Later accidentally purchased a $20 upgrade pass that was baited advertisement which only lasted 3 days since the season was ending. Thought it was a perm upgrade. Emailed developers and they stated all details are upfront and they could not do anything for a paying customer. Tried to appeal by stating that it was click bait due to the season ending in 3 days and questioned why it was even offered this late. Denied immediately stating I need to read all the fine print. Customer service just happy to take my money and run. Terrible way to deal with customers. Will never buy or play this developers games ever again. Buyers beware. ✓ Cash is kingI genuinely loved this game as a wind down after work but recently they have pushed some questionable updates that force players to spend more and more money. Sadly this is just killing the fun of the game. Before you were already spending gold to level up heroes, were sometimes needing to fork out money to level up your different characters as well as gear, on top of this there are several different chess pass like purchases if you want decent rewards. Now on top of this they have changed the crafting system to yet again exploit players into spending money. Quite frankly as someone who’s spent money on a chess pass and then had this introduced half way through I think it’s disgusting. I got the pass for the gear and now I can’t level up my gear without needing to spend money. Really bad choice that yet again goes against the players best interest. Safe to say once my chess pass runs out I won’t be renewing. I just don’t trust the developers anymore. I don’t see the point in any developer releasing a game when it’s in this bad of shape. This game disconnects entirely too often. It is almost unplayable. It’s too frustrating to be stuck in a battle, have the game freeze searching for connection to the game server, then miss 3-4 turns of picks, but the worst is when you’re clearly holding onto the number one position and then you lose connection to the server and then get penalized for “leaving the game,” when it’s a server issue, not a player issue. I will gladly change my rating if this improves because this is a great game, but this is also one of the main reasons why I won’t buy any in game packs. ✓ Needs some workGraphics are ok , designs look good and overall gameplay is decent. It looks simple but it has a hidden complexity with strategy. My major problem is the game is skewed into pay to win. The rift is really hard to complete within the given time frame and the rescorces you gain to able to fight battles. The shop prices are expensive most the time and not worth the effort and you need to completely ignore the % value prices because they have no rhyme or reason to the %s given half the time. The maths doesn’t add up. Auto isn’t really helpful atm , I know they’re working on it but it’s not worth paying for atm and I did all weekly and daily tasks and didn’t get half way done for the chess pass, so that’s frustrating. The events are also highly skewed towards new players (level up quests) which gets harder to do as your levels get higher. You shouldn’t need to pump £100 into the game a month to complete game rewards. You should be able to get all the rewards from hard work and playing. You’ll get more money from better value because more people will consider it a good investment. Other than the pay to win side , the game is fun and engaging and worth playing. ✓ Gacha in auto chess why??I do not understand the purpose of having money grabbing gacha game in an auto chess game, it does not make any sense at all. It removes the strategy part of auto chess and made it more reliant on how much money you spent to upgrade the characters outside of matches. You could have a superior composition with a proper team alignment but that does not matter when they have upgraded their best character out of the match that can 1 shot your team. What is the point. The animation is uninspiring and basic, a lot of in your face buy my gacha garbage, and the team unity is very underwhelming you should not bother at all with it. What I am finding frustrating with it is that there are instances where you are forced into a fail situation not because you are bad at the game but because you have not unlocked characters and the game uses a randomized shop system to buy characters to fight for you the problem is your selections are not strictly limited to characters you own and/or characters that you have good stats with and I have been having the direct issue of having that shop being populated with nothing but locked characters that I then need to spend a coin to refresh which is then again randomized sometimes with all locked characters or characters I can no longer afford. I do have screenshots if anyone is interested. This game would be made infinitely better by offering some kind of deck system so that the in battle shop only chooses from the characters you have unlocked/ choose for it to have..Version: 23.0.3

✓ Pay-to-Win and many bugs, but GoodThis game used to be a favorite of mine. It’s like TFT and Hearthstone, but better for beginners and people that haven’t played such games. However, with all the bugs that regularly cause problems from not getting credit for a win/completing an objective to turning in earned credits for a reward and not getting what was “promised”, whether the wrong amount or different things entirely, it becomes very disappointing and discouraging to continue. The game has become a majorly Pay-to-Win scenario game. If you buy currency or upgrades you are almost guaranteed a win because of being overpowered compared to players on the same tier that did not pay. These issues also discourage new players from enjoying the game because while they are working hard to collect more characters to use and play with other people have unlocked everything by paying money giving them a egregiously gross advantage. If they players that pay and the ones that do not were grouped separately, perhaps this would not be such a severe issue. ✓ Really fun for a day, then it becomes pay to winLevels Pawn 1-10 are super fun, the gameplay is engaging and really balanced. As soon as you hit Knight 1, the difficulty level doubles and unless you pay to upgrade your heroes you’re going to be stuck in limbo between Pawn 10 and Knight 1. Also, the online fights aren’t really online. I discovered this when a system level alert came up on my phone at the beginning of an online round and then a second later after “reconnecting”, the round was over and the results displayed. ADDITIONALLY, the countdown for selecting new heroes continued immediately and the next round began directly after the countdown, which would be impossible if there was a human player on the other side, as they would still be seeing the round played out while I began the next round. I tested this 10-15 times with the same results. So basically, it was fantastic for two days so it gets two stars. Clash of clans is much better in terms of balancing pay to win vs grinding it out. Both are equally possible and plenty of people do both. Personally, I don’t spend money on games unless it’s to buy it once so I guess that’s the end of this game for me..Version: 23.0.5

You can be playing a ranked match and then all of a sudden the whole game just goes off if you are lucky you can turn it back on and it will be where you left off. ✓ ShameThis is probably one one the best mobile games you could play, it is the first game I go to when I have any free time. Unfortunately this game has so many glitches and after updates it actually developed more, like prompting you to update to the latest version half way through a game then you are unable to even after deleting the game and reinstalling it, you can’t even play it now after the latest one. If this was just a one off then I could handle it but there too many now and the playing of the game enjoyment is now diminished because of this, which as my title reads it’s a SHAME because it is an excellent game but their programming and developing staff would benefit from testing updates before releasing. ✓ Was fun but so buggy/laggy/glitchy now.I enjoyed the game, but have gotten to the point where I’m considering deleting it. While in a battle, the game can be so unresponsive that it costs you the match. Shop won’t update, squad size won’t increase after spending money, using the “best” might feature can take so long to place heroes that you don’t have time to rearrange them at match start. Or suddenly a match will be over, declaring victory/defeat but I didn’t see any of the match just a loading screen. I’ve even had to force quit the app in the middle of a match and then reopen to get a better experience, but by then I’ve lost several rounds. It’s very frustrating. ✓ AwfulThe game is fun for the most part, but terribly frustrating when it comes to the Journey mode. I’ve went up against a team with just as many bonuses and a 20% higher power rating and it still somehow equates to a lost battle. I understand the bonuses and work toward them in the best way possible at all times. Fix the math on this. 20% higher power rating should always result in a win almost despite the bonuses. The bonuses add to the total and if my total is higher, I should win. Real simple. The Journey mode is against the computer and I see no reason for this not to be the case. The point of the Journey mode should be to get those rewards to play competitively against other players. It seems more that I play competitively to get the rewards to help me win battles in the Journey mode..Version: 22.0.0
✓ Fun concept, simple money grabI’d like to start off by saying this game is fun and reminds me of Legion TD from Warcraft 3. That being said, there is very little strategy/skill required to win this game. I spent some time gathering up hero cards so that they’re so over leveled for my rank, that no one can touch me. Second, I’m someone that refuses to pay money for fake things in an app I won’t use in a month, and this game clearly survives off of micro transactions. It’s brutal how many times a “deal” pops up trying to get $5, $10, and even $20 for their battle pass. It’s absurd and very clear the creators had no interest in making a game that will last, as opposed to making a quick buck. There will always be those leaderboard guys from China who probably spend $100’s a week to keep up but I have no interest in a game like that. Wish more games would emphasize skills and not just P2W. I can’t wait for the automatic response from the creators saying they’re so sorry! And tell me to contact customer support like that will fix the issues. The further along you go, the more likely you’re to notice the big difference between those that spend money in this game to those that don’t. This game becomes increasingly dependent on how much you can level up your units. This is due to the increase in firepower these levelled up units have, and when combined with the increase you get from merging units during a game, makes it very frustrating to win as someone who hasn’t paid for the resources to level up units. I don’t play to win anymore. I just aim to not lose and even now it looks less and less likely for me. There’s also some other issues where I’ve been kicked out of match cuz the game frozen. ✓ A couple problemsActually enjoyed the game at first, but as others have stated the game seems to crash every match near the end or at the end of ranked plays guaranteed. Something I don’t quite understand for this game is why even bother with a timing system if we’re not actually even playing against real players in real time, but an A.I. using players’ accounts. Should give us the option to do things at our own pace or not have a time limit before the next fight. You don’t even have to watch the battle, just exit and re-enter the app during a fight to see if you’d win, draw, or lose in a second. These are my only gripes for the game. ✓ All the good reviews are botsFirst of all: Only pay attention to the negative reviews. All the positive ones are bots. 2nd of all: This is not game. This is a literal torture app. It is made to torture you. The reason I say that? Once you get to a certain point you have no choice but to buy EVERYTHING you can(with real money) or you will lose 100% of the time. Shortly after this, the bots still autokill your higher level Characters and you just cannot win anymore. No amount of grinding, paying or anything else will let you win ever again. In short: Only play this “game” if you plan to cheat to autowin against the invincible level 8 bots that level 20 characters get autokilled by or you are an admin who can do the same. That simple Oh, and as a little side note…the reviews about non stop ads to buy stuff…are not wrong. ✓ Game won’t loadThis was my favorite game. I spent at least 300$ on this game because I enjoyed it so much but the last update came out and I can longer load the game. Every time time it gets to the screen where it shows the progress bar when you first launch the app it crashes and shuts the app down. ✓ Love / Hate relationshipVery bipolar game. It can be very fun. Beautiful graphics. Easy interface. Fun when you are competitive. On the other hand the matchmaking can be frustrating. Seem to play the higher levels when you’re at the bottom and you can languish in a level for a long time unless you spend money to upgrade all the heroes. The hero choices are so random you can be in the Knight levels but still have level 1 cards be all you can choose from. Also frustrated with the draw matches.
