✓ App working fine for meI’m using iPhone Xs with LG TONE Free UFP9. App found head phones straight away and had to approve a couple of permissions. It then updated the headphones, make sure you do this with the headphones/ buds in the case for it to work. Once done everything has worked fine as it should do..Version: 1.2.96

✓ Works fine - connecting and updatingDon’t usually leave a review but I just don’t understand why all the negative reviews. I had no issues connecting my earbuds to the app and updating. Just paired the buds, left them in the charge case, opened the app and then it updates the software. Had about seven updates with no issues. The app works fine. Maybe the users who had the problems didn’t leave the buds in the charge case next to the phone or maybe LG have fixed the issue? Once updated I could choose some settings like equaliser presets or your own custom settings..Version: 1.2.54

✓ I don’t quite know why everyone rates this as poorly as they do.Granted, I haven’t used this app for less than ten minutes, but I took a quick glance at all of the controls and the general design of the app, and it does exactly what it sets out to do. I do enjoy the simplistic nature of the controls; and I didn’t even know there was an app for my LG Tones to begin with..Version: 1.4.30
✓ Unnecessarily fiddlyWhen the app works, it works great. Meridian makes a big difference to the sound in a good way. Plenty of options to fiddle with, including two custom EQs. However, it’s really buggy. When you set these buds up for the first time, don’t pair them to the phone until you’ve got the app open. Then pair them as normal. Make sure you accept the LE Bluetooth pairing option otherwise the app will not work. Don’t rename them until setup is complete. Then you’re good to go. Otherwise I was experiencing constant “No headset connected” warnings with the name changed, and even at default without the LE option paired, none of the settings did anything. Updating takes a while and closing the app in any way, including the phone going off and locking, will stop the update. Turn off display sleep before you do the update..Version: 1.4.16

✓ How to useNOTE: On first usage you MUST connect the LG buds with them inside the charging case with the lid open in order for the app to fully recognize them. If not, go to Bluetooth settings and Forget Device on the buds and try again. If it works, the LG Tone app will show the charging case as well as the buds battery levels. Since then, the app works every time for me and changing settings works without issue. It might take a minute for the charging case to show up in the app the first time. Be patient and be rewarded!.Version: 1.3.00

Once you pair them to your phone, leave them in the case and open the app. There can be a little lag time when recognizing the device. ✓ Best Earbud AppI recently tried 6 different ear pods and this is the best app out of any of the ear pod apps. It has the most features for the ear buds and is the most visually appealing and easy to navigate. I have had no problems with the ear buds connecting to the app or anything. ✓ Not Straight Forward To Connect.I found that the app did not connect straight away or update. I tried & tried nothing, I am using iPhone 6+. Then read that another reader had left them connected to Bluetooth for 3 hours & then everything connected & updated. That’s what I did & the app connected straight away after 3 hours & updated itself. I did this with my iPad & wife’s iPhone 11 & had no problems since. The app once connected & updated works really well & I have been using this now with no problems for 3 weeks. You would think that the app would update & connect straight out of the box, but the 3 hour wait was worth it..Version: 1.2.86

✓ The reviews are right… kindaThe app works great when it works, but sometimes it just stops working, and in my few times it happened it was fixed by forgetting the earbuds on Bluetooth and repairing them. The app still remembers what presets you had for it though so this leads me to believe it has to so with a Bluetooth Software issue, which yes, is their issue, but it works fine after you quickly fix the bug..Version: 1.4.04
✓ THE APP WORKS!!!!This app works beautifully, you need to pair your earbuds with app and allow access to Bluetooth before it works, 2 pop up windows will open when you open the app and it may need an update as well. Took me 3 tries until I succeed! If it doesn’t work disconnect earbuds from phone on the Bluetooth settings and pair them again, without the app you will not get the full benefits of these amazing earbuds. DONT GIVE UP ON THIS APP! ✓ Issues with connectingA lot of reviews talk about the unavoloty to connect, however I kept trying to connect and you basically have to have the case open with the ear buds in it, open the app, then put the ear buds in and let it auto connect. ✓ It’s wonderful when it works, I really need help with this to be honestWhen I first bought a pair of FP6 earbuds, the app worked like a charm. I suffer with sensory issues but love listening to music and having noise in the background, so having the EQ available to cut out any frequencies that hurt my ears or irritate me was a massive help. About 8 months ago I got the new FP8 earbuds, and since then the app has been a shambles. I can’t download any software updates, I can’t edit or change the EQ settings anymore, and right now I can’t even get onto the app, it just shows the black screen with the logo. I’ve tried hard resetting the earbuds, resetting my phone, disconnecting and reconnecting the earbuds, uninstalling then reinstalling the app, but nothing works. It’s not an issue with the earbuds as they work fine, they connect and play sound out of them perfectly, they charge fine. All I want really is to change the EQ setting but it’s not letting me anymore. It’s clearly an app issue. Do I contact LG Customer Service? Is there a helpline? Do I send a tweet to the twitter account? An email? Anything???.Version: 1.4.04

They had a new update that now let’s you use the app with iPhone YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THE NAME OF THE HEADPHONES IS THE ORIGINAL NAME “LG-TONE-FP9” etc.. ! I’m glad I can finally get the full experience I paid for. Happy enough not to give praise but to accept this update as an apology for the super inconvenience the app was before..Version: 1.4.04

✓ This is amazing!I’m using this with my LG-TONE-NP3 Stereo headphones. It works perfectly, but took a bit to get set up. I am using them dual connected on my cell (an older iOS SE) and my laptop.
