If you enjoy a game where the developers actually care enough to respond to users and there is a community that helps one another, this is a great one for you. ✓ Super fun time fillerThis game is so relaxing and a great was to fill in those few minutes you need when taking a break. Easy to jump in and out of and the mechanics are simple enough to make it enjoyable. I’m a busy Dad so in between tasks I somethings just jump on and throw a few lines before I jump back into the chaos of life. Downside: please reconsider the 500k to 7mil jump in later islands. The best thing about the early game is the lack of ‘hard’ grind. This is to much. I’d probably delete than grind that much....Version: 1.1.9

✓ Actually a good gameI dont leave many reviews. However this game is great, no forced ads or pay2win. However you have the option to if you want to progress quicker making you feel like you’re not taking the indie developers for granted with this great free game. Gets a bit repetitive after 5h+ of game play due to lack of end game content and also very high amount of coins to unlock next fishing areas (the 500k one) will take ages to get to. If I was to recommend any extra content possibly add different types of fishing rods with different buffs, as well as more customisable characters with coins to buy vanity items. And also more people to go on your island, possibly be able to get off your boat in the fishing mode to explore the island you have gone to and possibly find some people on there! It’s great to be able to get out of the boat when exploring islands and fishing and it’s so cool to see how the game has expanded but it would be even better if there was an activity to do on the islands. I saw a review say something about a treasure hunt and I totally agree with this. Maybe being able to walk on the islands is just a step towards doing something like suggested above. ✓ Went in with low expectations then was blown away.I saw this game on an Instagram ad and thought it would just be another ad crazy game. Everyone’s seen them. Games where you can’t go 3 minutes without seeing an ad or skipping through ads, so I went in with low expectations. This game isn’t like most other games where the ads spam you constantly. You travel around catching fish and progressing through the game. Every once in a while you’ll find crates floating in the water. Some have boat blueprints in them and others have coins, which you can get by watching ads, but here’s the kicker. You aren’t forced to watch the ad if you don’t want to. You can just tap off the crate and keep catching fish. Honestly blown away..Version: 1.1.12

My only add to this would be to have more things to do on islands, for example have challenges or quests on the task board to find certain items on the islands to gain rewards even have new characters on the islands to set tasks too. Another thing could be events to catch rare new fish (shiny versions etc) and to be able to frame you’re biggest catches. ✓ An awesome experience but needs a bit of polishI adore this game and the fact that no one has ever properly made a good fishing game just proves how great it is. However the one problem is polish, for the style I see your going with a low poly look to your style and that’s cool but a lot of stuff looks way too low poly and I feel their should be better textures and details. Another thing is just the minor details as i feel their should be more verity in scenery like with plant life both in and out of water , an example would be coral Reefs although those are technically animals. Another thing could be reeds or algae for more closed in mangroves. On a final note the biggest thing that is needed is MORE CONTENT as I can’t get enough of it. ✓ Great Relaxing Fishing GameThis game brings a lot of the aspects of a great mobile app together. Whether you want to play a little bit once a day you can still progress quite quickly with the idle fishers. If you want to grind the game you can by filling up your compendium and making your way to the large open water voyage. The ads can be extremely annoying but that comes with almost every free mobile game today. The only thing I hope about this game is that the developers keep creating new islands, fish, and ways to keep the game exciting. It’s concerning it’s been 5 months since the last update and I hope they continue to grow the game. A lot of potential can happen with Tides..Version: 1.3.5

No hidden in app purchases, you can complete levels effectively without stress. There is difficulty further down the storyline but it adds to the desire to revisit the app and relax some more. ✓ Issue with boat cards and progressI really love this game, I even bought paid to make it ad free but I’ve been reading everywhere you can buy boat cards from the gray haired girl by the guy you upgrade and change boats with but I don’t have her on my island. I’ve looked everywhere and tried to Google if others are having the same problem but can’t find anything. I’ve even deleted and reinstalled it and nothing. On that same note I’d like to have the option to completely start the game over but when I delete and reinstall it keeps my progress. Other than those 2 things it’s great. I like that it’s portrait mode so I can play it laying on the couch or even in the bath and I normally immediately turn off all sound on games since I listen to audiobooks while I play but I left these ones on..Version: 1.3.2

I enjoy the fishing aspect and the companions but there really is no point to the game - you make more money idling than you do by fishing!?! ✓ Arrived In Sharktooth: What Now?Liked overall. Unusual and enjoyable. I had to spend most time at Lava Point, which is probably the least “pleasant” spot. Maybe swap it with Duneworth I’d say or redesign? For me it’s too harsh for the chill zen vibe. I wish I could fish with the bros off the south of home island and catch actual fish there. Wish I could wear sunglasses and a hat at the same time and didn’t have to choose between the two. I wish I occasionally saw a fish in one of the lagoons. It’s be fun to try to cast over the land to catch it. Also the whole boat thing is quite complicated and time-consuming with all the levels... and levels within levels. The taria-bune tub was fine for pretty much all purposes so I didn’t pay too much mind to the boat arms race. Good game overall, however arriving at Sharktooth, I have to say, was a bit of an anticlimax. Especially given how long it took to get there. Really not sure what the objective since arrival is, so I’ve just stopped playing. Still a game well worth playing, even if the actual end goal is unclear. To me anyway..Version: 1.1.12

I’d suggest adding different boats and maybe simple character customizations. Another fun idea might be to connect all the islands and be able to boat to them from the main island? Last suggestion-maybe a tab that’s just dedicated to supporting you guys would probably work well. Just leaving optional ads with no rewards or anything just leave it up to the player to be able to support you. Great game though!!! ✓ It will not save my progressI want to start this off by saying that this is a very good game, and I can see that a lot of work was put into it. Normally, free games will have no hard work put into them and they will be ad filled. However, the game will not save my progress. I fished for the first time, built my first fishing assistant, and then got the rest of the fish in the first area, and then I exited the game. When I came back, I was back to where I was about to built the first fishing assistant after I fished for the first time. I was a little angry about losing my progress, but I decided to delete the game and try it again. I did the same thing that I did above, and I lost my progress again. I hate to give such a good game a bad rating, and I think that this game would be spectacular if the saving problem was fixed. UPDATE: I am very sorry for not seeing the description, where it says to disable iCloud if the saving is not working. It’s just such a well made game and for the hour that I’ve actually played, I’ve noticed that the tutorial leads you through in a way that lets you do what you want while also teaching you the fundamentals of the game! ✓ Relaxing fishing game with room to growI saw this game on Reddit and decided to give it a try. The music and sound design are absolutely top notch. I do hope for a bit of difficulty in the fishing mechanic, but the game does control very well. Excellent use of ads here, something similar to #Drive, an ad mechanic that is not invasive. Besides making the actually catching of the fish more difficult via a Stardew style mechanic, you could also add a bit of crafting. You could have chests near a ship wreck that you could fish up and find rope or torn fishing nets that you could repair and use to catch a group of fish in one shot. I’m still new to the game and don’t know if this is a later feature, but I do see this is an excellent base game that I hope will continue to grow..Version: 1.1.6

✓ More!I’ve been really loving the game so far! I love the gameplay and the graphics are very nice. I’ve only had the game for a day but I’m already 2 totems away from the last one. One thing I’d like to see more of is the island. From where I am in the game’s progression, it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot to do on the island. I’d like to see more reasons to expand and grow the island, have island residents, animals that more around on the island. Plant or animal farms even! It would be cool if you were able to bring back the caught fish and choose to sell them and it’d be cool to be able to keep some fish on the island. Off the island, I’d love to see more challenges in catching the fish. Maybe types of fish that run form you or fight back (though player “health” would be adding a whole different aspect to the game, I’d assume” Having alternate ways to farm automatic money besides the 3 helpers who fish for you I haven’t explored the voyager ship much, so I’m looking forward to that I see tides as an opportunity to add so much more! ✓ Brilliant!I’m absolutely love love loving this game! The graphics and animation are beautiful, simple and clever, so you can really feel the changing depth of the ocean. I love the little wiggle each fish does to move to the prey, and the perfect sounds of casting and reeling in. It’s this attention to detail that makes it a joy to cruise around, fishing. An activity I actually hate in RL! I’m hoping more is added to the game, another challenge of some sort, maybe a fish collection where you can cross-breed fish to create others. (Big ask, I know!) ✓ Just what I was looking for.It has a chill, cozy, yet fun atmosphere. Its such a nice experience upgrading your boat and island and going on fishing trips to different locations. I would love to see more. Multiplayer would take this game to a whole new level. It would literally be the best mobile game to exist. Similar to Animal Crossing, you would be able to enter the houses that are already on the island and have the ability to customize the inside and decorate it. Coins could be spent on those decorations and even self customization like accessories. And just the thought of being able to visit your friends’ islands and chilling with the low-key music in the background is making me warm and cozy inside. I’m really looking forward to the future of this game and I think it has heaps of potential. I sincerely hope you consider implementing multiplayer Tides. ✓ Simple and MinimalThis game really captures the essence of a simple activity like fishing. Personally, I love the simplicity of things and how vibrant and cute this game is. I really don’t write reviews at all but I just wanted to compliment the nature and scenery depicted throughout the different islands and how the music flows with the serenity of a small yet peaceful world. I know the idea is to keep everything to a minimal but one thing I’d like to add is if we can have the option to decorate our islands like buy flowers and beach chairs, a volleyball net, a tiki bar would be so cute, and other beachy things. Maybe be able see crabs and tropical birds wondering around. Or add other sea creatures like clams and oysters yet still keep these things minimal. ✓ Calm of the SeaThis game has got to be one of the best things I’ve stumbled across in the App Store. I have been having a lot of anxiety lately and every time I open Tides up, I instantly feel relieved. The artwork, the collectables, the sounds and vibrations, the lack of pop-up ads— there are so many calming things that playing this had provided me. I ‘finished’ the game in less than a week, but still continue to play it whenever I need a break from the stresses of life. The artwork and game flow is top quality and gorgeous, with cute little companions and serene fish animations. The instant gratification and generosity of obtaining the actual gold fills my heart to the brim. And let’s talk about the ads! There are none unless you opt to watch them for opening chests and doubling gold— which I heavily suggest doing! It makes fishing trips less frequent when you’re wanting to upgrade Totems and it really helps out the wonderful developers. You can tell they put time and effort into making this game perfect, so please support them (This entire review was of my own opinion. Nothing was obtained in game or from the developers for it. ✓ Tranquil and the graphics are amazingThe whole feel to this game is amazing. I rarely give 5 star reviews but this game deserves one. The beginning of the game is clear and the guide is helpful. Also the graphics are so good and paired with the music really helps convey how tranquil and peaceful the game is. The controls are simple and so is a good game to help relax to. Another great point about this game is it isn’t ad pushy but there is always the option to remove ads completely (I haven’t bought it). ✓ High Quality but misguides the playerGenerally this game is a high quality and relaxing experience. Everything runs super smoothly and is very close to the expectations for the game. However there a few instances where the game intentionally misguides the player. The primary one that is incredibly annoying is when building fishing docks that give you an X amount of passive income per minute, you DO NOT actually get that amount - you get much much less. I timed several instances of 24 hour waits and the amount earned was consistently around 13% of what the game tells you. ✓ Nice game, hoping for more updatesI got this game a month or so ago because of the reviews and have been playing off and on just to build up money because in the later part of the game it takes a LONG time to progress. Been doing the jobs from the job board and using the idle fishermen. I do wish there was more stuff you could do like maybe customize your ships, upgrade fishing poles and such. Also if the money you get from fish from places you unlocked in the beginning would scale up as you unlock new areas, that would be nice. Otherwise I just never keep the fish from there and don’t care about going back. This game is very relaxing and simple, and it still keeps you busy for a while (there’s a lot to do). The main thing I like about it though is that it’s very creative. ✓ Really good butI have been playing the game a for just over a day and I love it. The graphics are amazing along with the experience and variety of fish. The music fits the game well and makes it a nice relaxing game. The game is well balanced I feel with the variety of free chests you can discover and I’m slowly saving up for the best chest which may take a couple of days or longer. I did have to change the settings for graphics as it was making my iPad warm however I’m sure higher end Ipad Pro users might be able to run the graphics at max. The only issue for me is when an advert is prompted for chests or free pearls they can take ages to load and often when watching an advert the screen goes black after a few seconds. Not sure if this is down to the advert provider but I’m having to restart the game a lot. ✓ This is what I needed!!This has been such a great game to play. I am an avid fisherman in real life and I haven’t seen a good fishing app game for smartphones like this EVER! Being able to drive your boat around the various islands catching fish, finding chests, upgrading your boats speed and mobility. Along with fishing challenges to keep you motivated to play. Genius! My favorite fish to catch irl is the red drum and what do you know. The FIRST FISH I caught in the game was a red drum. I hope this game grows into something even greater than what it has become already!! A couple of things I would like to see added is maybe different weather situations the boat may get into, like storms with rough waves or currents that push the boat away from the fish. You could make it an option in the settings to be turned on and off just in case another gamer wants to just relax and play the game. Finally, a daily boat race with different boats with a reward for a small amount of money or the boat cards. Maybe the storms idea could be added to that portion of the game. ✓ Simply exceptionalThere are few games today that I feel are worthwhile playing on iOS. I download games with the expectation of becoming tired of them within a very short length of time, however this game is different. This game is a work of art akin to that of Alto’s Adventure and its sequel Alto’s Odyssey. The only difference is the inclusion of ads, but they are not at all intrusive and you could happily play this game without needing to watch a single ad or purchase a single thing. I did, however, happily shell out $6.99 to remove ads from the game. Not because I disliked the ads (I mean I don’t like them but who does), but because I wanted to support the developers. ✓ Super good!This is a really good game and helps to pass the time. However, some things such as companions (pets) and hats cost tons of pearls, which are basically very hard to get and you need to complete tasks to get them. And even so, not all tasks reward you with pearls, and if they do, at most it’s probably about 15 pearls. I still do appreciate that they have pets and hats, but if it were cheaper I’d love that. Even if you can get pets from chests on islands, it’s very hard and you probably have a better chance of getting 10,000 coins. But I love the mini facts it gives! I’ve never seen a game that both entertains and teaches you! Great job, overall. I wish I could give this a 4.5! The game is very well balanced because you can upgrade your dock fisherman and when you play the next day your fisherman could have caught you well up to 30k coins at night. (I have level 25 fisherman, if you haven’t downloaded yet, you can upgrade your fisherman to get you more coins per catch.) This is super helpful because once you buy the 4th island, the next one is almost 15 times as expensive. If you grinding for things like in a game without being asked to buy things every 2 minutes and making your island home better, and also fishing for beautiful fish from around the world, then this is the game for you. ✓ Really fun but…I really, really like this game. It’s relaxing, controls are easy, plenty to do right off the bat. However, once you unlock all of the islands, there isn’t really a reason to keep playing. The assistants don’t return nearly enough money. It seems that if your assistants are leveled up, the amount of gold you get from being away is lessened. The assistants also take SO MUCH gold to level up once you’re past level 30 or so, it’s crazy. Like another review said, if one of the goals is to get an assistant to level 99 but the only reward is 10 pearls, it just isn’t worth it. ✓ Finally, an idle game that isn't a idle game!Wow, where do I begin? This game is amazing. The graphics are cute and the ability to unlock different and yet vast diverse ships is the chef's kiss. My favorite is the flamingo. This game is a idle game in where you unlock the fisherman/fisherwoman assistant who sits on the dock and repeatedly fishes to give you coins to use to upgrade ships as well as the island. What makes this game stands out is the ability to upgrade your islands, fish and do random things like play with a giant beach ball. I haven't figured out the difference with the ships itself other than inventory sizes. Now, some ideas for the developers can you add more music choices when you unlock the drums. I would also love to explore the other islands as well you put so much details into the islands as well as the vast fish or fishes(different species of fish, google it.) it is a shame not to explore the islands and dig for treasure or do a quest that requires you to cut down a tree or interact with villagers. Just a though. Other wise it is a near perfect game that isn't just a idle game. There are of course ads, but unlike many other games, these are completely optional. If you wish to simply relax and fish in peace, no ad will pop up to interrupt your quiet. The controls are simple to use, and the art style is a classic low poly style, which I find gives the game that classic indie charm. The issue is most of my enjoyment from the game was within the first 30 minutes and then dropped off. I’ve still come back to it from time to time but just becomes very difficult/slow to make gold and progress through the game. Additionally, relaxing does not have to equal boring and this game becomes that after a short amount of time. Few ideas for improvement: It would be great if after discovering a new species you would have a small chance of it showing up at your home island. Right now you’re able to swim and even cast your line at home, but there’s no fish there so it’s a useless feature. Don’t put a cap on the money fishing helpers can earn for you. It makes upgrading them pointless especially given how expensive they are. Do something with the houses in the island around the camp fire. There’s already one we can go into (store near sanctuary), so why not do something with the other buildings? Would be nice to see some additionally animation details like maybe foot prints when you walk on the sand, ripples in the water, etc. Lastly, make the pets less creepy 😅 why do the birds run around instead of fly…? Or the frog run instead of hop? Why do they have all have dead-looking eyes..? 😂 Anyway, still 4/5 because I enjoyed the game a lot when I first played it and it has a lot of potential to become a better game..Version: 1.2.13
✓ Lovely relaxing game!Love this game, it’s relaxing and fun - the graphics, music and movement/mechanics are perfect. I look forward to the devs continuing to build out this game as it has so much potential but I have nearly reached the last island so I hope there will be more updates coming soon. Also introducing a bit of a storyline perhaps would help immersion and engagement. Also I really feel that the way the devs have used ads in the game is really fair - the ads are unobtrusive and you can choose to watch them or not (watching earns you coins and pearls of course!). ✓ A Few Suggestions/FixesI think this is a great game, except for three things I noticed. First off, unless my math is off, I think the offline fishermen stop at some point because I have all 3 at level 40+ and they only made 125k over night, which by my math should be much higher (maybe I’m missing something though). The other two things I would think would make the game be a bit more rewarding and not so repetitive is if the fishing actually requires some sort of response from the player. In other words instead of the fish just coming in you would have to continually drag the line in against resistance (better the fish harder the catch). Also I wish the increase in price for the fish in the later islands more-so matched the increase in the price for the next totem. Otherwise very good game..Version: 1.1.6

✓ Impressed and pleased!Every time you download a app its a crap shoot. But i ended up liking this one right away. You can tell a lot of care went into the development. Both the design and the UI are very well done. I havent noticed any glaring things so far. I like that if you close the app even while fishing, you can just pick right up again. Its things like that that make it more enjoyable to play. Pretty intuitive. So far it looks like theres a good amount of stuff to get done and a nice amount of different fish. ✓ I don't usually do this but..I never leave reviews on games but I have to tell you guys, I downloaded this on a whim and the more I play the more I love it. It's simple enough to navigate and doesn't leave me feeling anxious like I NEED to complete things on a time limit. It's very much my own pace and I realized that even the music is lovely. I normally play phone games without sound because certain aspects of a game with sound can be too loud or overwhelming in some aspects but this game is overall just lovely and I'm so glad I downloaded it. I think this is one of my favorites out there; it has calming music, serene environment, no stress with timing, pressure to complete or buy things, or in-game timers when catching fish. ✓ Beyond enjoyable!!!I have been looking for a fun and relaxing game to play during my downtime at work, at trying multiple random ones i happened to stumble across Tides this morning… I’m hooked! (Pun intended) it’s super easy to get started, extremely immersive and just an absolute blast to play. Tons of little features besides fishing also like being about to find companions such as hamsters, birds etc. and they even give you coins over time! Upgrading boats, upgrading fishing assistants or just going from island to island trying to catch the biggest fish you can find. It’s hands down one of the best games I’ve ever played on mobile in any category. Not to mention, there is hardly any ads!!! And if you do have to watch one, you will benefit from it. Unlike other games that force you to watch ads over and over with nothing in return. These ads are optional, and will give you coins, or treats for you companion to upgrade them! ✓ A Hidden GemA lot of the really good mobile games I’ve ever played seem to be not very popular or that out there, so I’m glad that I found this game. The reason why I rated it a 4 star instead of a 5 star is because I just started the game and don’t know too much about it besides the basics. One criticism I do have of it though is that it uses the dreaded loot box system, but from a business perspective, I totally understand why they did it. However, I thought it would be fun to sit down with my teen girls and play something together. We looked and looked for a new game and after trying a few, found this one! It is amazing!! ✓ So nearly perfectIncredibly relaxing, and no ads. There are several small things that I would like to see however. I really really really want to be able to fish off of the home island. Maybe a physical fish shop to sell catches instead of them being auto sold could be added to facilitate this? I would also like to be able to get off boats and walk around and fish from other islands. More minor things, mostly related to late game progression: the fishing assistants seem to have an arbitrary cap on how much they can make you when you’re not actively playing (around 100k) which is frustrating, especially given how expensive they get to upgrade. Legendary boats are ridiculously rare. The only way to get one is through a 0.1% drop rate on legendary chests, which in themselves cost 500 pearls each. I’ve played through all but 1 islands, and made maybe 200 pearls total. To pay cash for enough pearls for one legendary chest is $10, which again only gets you a 0.1% chance of a legendary. This just seems a bit ridiculous. There either needs to be a different way to get these chests, or a better way to get pearls. Other then that, it’s extremely relaxing and fun to play..Version: 1.1.3

If you want to chill for a bit and do a bit of fishing, then this is for you 🎣 It’s free to play, the adverts are your choice to watch (they are not forced on you), you can also pay to remove them, if you wish, so give it a go! 👍😎 As you progress to the the latter islands the cost to unlock them does increase, but only takes a few days to get coins to unlock them. The simplistic layout of the game with limited buttons cluttering the screen, puts this head over shoulders above its competition.
