Fantastic Updated Interactive FictionI am a diehard fan of interactive fiction, and love the rare occasions when someone adapts it to touchscreen. It is disappointing how much of what’s out there is just choose-your-own-adventure, without the puzzles that make great IF so addicting. This game hits the sweet spot of all the good things about IF, nicely blended with graphics, a good story, and some thoughtful puzzles done well, without overdoing the graphics and keeping it a text-based game, but without the pesky typing that turns so many people off of IF. I really wish the developers would stay on this track. I’ve been hoping that someone would adapt the truly great IF games (Counterfeit Monkey, Anchorhead, etc) for touchscreen- maybe it’s these guys. I’m knocking off a star because of one truly badly clued puzzle- opening the music box. Almost every step of clueing to open it was tenuous or plain nonsensical. Many people will either give up or resort to a walkthrough unless you re-clue many of the steps for solving that puzzle. Every other puzzle was well-designed, but that one was SO bad that it really hurt the game. Thanks so much for this really absorbing experience. Keep it up!.Version: 1.03

Great Scroll-and-Tap Adventure GameI hope more adventure games like this one get published. The story I didn’t care much for but the adventure aspect of it all and the puzzles were fun. The puzzles are intertwined with the story very well and are not too hard but still somewhat obtuse so it’s not too easy either. CONS: A couple of the puzzles were brute forcible; some of the buttons to play audio were spammable, so the audio would stutter over itself with multiple taps; An occasional typo which didn’t seem intentional; The in-game link to leave a review must be incorrect because the app store fails to direct to the page when that link is used; Only has swipe/manual scrolling; The ending of the story feels unintentionally comedic in a dark way that doesn’t quite match the vibe; You play a character but have no impact on the outcome of the story. PROS: Seemingly unique. This is the first game like this that I’ve ever run into; Has a few small easter eggs here and there add a kind of humor to the experience; Chapter elements are well synced; Additional media fits the aesthetic; Puzzles very well intertwined with the story and media. None of the cons are bad enough to destroy the overall experience..Version: 1.08

IntriguingThe game isn’t super long, but the story will keep most people coming back to see what happens next. The puzzles weave seamlessly into the story and feel satisfying to complete. Keep an eye on everything as the tiniest details can lead to hidden messages and don’t be afraid to experiment with the options you have. This is a game I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good puzzle and/or an intriguing story..Version: 1.04

Bit too shortExpected a bit more game play, each chapter of 8, requires a couple of minor puzzles to solve the big one that gets you to the next chapter. Interface could use touch a bit more, example early in the game you need to use a phone, which you should just be able to do on its key pad, not pan through each button and then click when you want it. Ending is somewhat disappointing. All in all I am happy with my purchase, and look forward to another story line..Version: 1.03

Exited!I’ve been looking forward to this release for awhile!.Version: 1.02

Very excitingThis is a very interesting and interactive game! I can’t wait to keep playing it!.Version: 1.04

Awesome!I’ve been waiting for this game for a while, and it has definitely not let me down so far! I’m only on Chapter 2, but so far so good!.Version: 1.04

LOVED ITI loved this game! It reminded me of an escape room experience. If you're someone who's all about the details, this is the game for you. It requires patience and time, so if you have both, you're sure to have a great time..Version: 1.0.0

Memento, the GameThe good: The game really shines when it’s making full use of its interface — which is basically a text scroll with hidden Easter eggs. It’s great to see a game play around with a unique format. Worth the price just for the novelty! Solid voice acting - not always the case with indie games! Decent and fun puzzles, most of which are on the easier side, but a few of which are downright challenging. Catchy tune in the “my patience is wearing thin” song! The bad: Sorry, folks, but you blatantly ripped off so much from the movie MEMENTO (I mean, c’mon: guy with short-term memory loss who tattoos himself and writes on polaroid photos is trying to find the killer of his dead lover only to discover… ) that the story was neither surprising nor particularly engaging. I kept hoping for a clever twist to show up, but it didn’t. Some scenes and plot elements are literally pulled straight from the film, and the “surprise” ending could be seen coming from a mile away. UNlike the film, though, this “mystery” is never actually definitively solved! This is the big reason it lost a star. The novelty of the interface wears off about halfway through as the designers seem to run out of ideas for clever ways to utilize it, which is a shame and contributes to a draggy final third of the game. Unlike the overall game interface, the embedded image interaction is clunky, but I get it: it’s hard to make things like that fully interactive without a whole lot of work. It annoyed me once or twice (especially when longer input sequences were required), but on the whole it wasn’t too bad. Overall: Honestly, despite the issues I had with the storyline, I’d buy the game again for its uniqueness, and I think it’s worth the price. However, if you haven’t seen the 5-star movie MEMENTO, watch that instead, and be sure to watch it FIRST so you don’t get spoiled! Hope to see more from these devs, with a truly original storyline!.Version: 1.08

Wonderful game.It was addictive. I loved the puzzles. I need more. I wish I would have been longer..Version: 1.04

Fun interactive “novel” game!I really enjoyed this game. I thought the use of interactivity combined with text was very clever and fun. Most of the puzzles were logical & fun to figure out without being too challenging. (though there were a couple I needed hints for!) Thanks for creating something truly unique & entertaining!.Version: 1.06

A game, a story, and a catchy song.I haven’t finished yet but this game is definitely worth playing as a great game in itself but also as the next stage in evolution of a genre after Device 6 (a brilliant game as well but much earlier). The story is well written and unlike other games like this it feels like the puzzles have come from the narrative rather that the story being built around the puzzles. This makes the whole experience feel more cohesive..Version: 1.06

Very excited!!My first experience with this kind of interactive games... so far, extremely good!!! Loved it!.Version: 1.04

Compelling and mystifyingI just spent 10 minutes watching 80’s TV shorts on a fake TV. WHAT IS HAPPENING???.Version: 1.03

Love itI’m not a big gamer and look for intelligent games. I have not finished this one yet but I’m thoroughly enjoying it. For those of us that don’t like action and more go into thinking this is a great game.Version: 1.08

THE BEST!BEST PUZZLE GAME EVER HANDS DOWN. so sad when it ended :(.Version: 1.0.0

Memento in Game FormExcellent text-based game with fun graphics, puzzles that thread the needle between not being too tough and not being too easy, great plot and clever interface. On the down side, the game borrows heavily from the movie Memento and if you’ve seen it you’re going to have “I’ve seen this before” moments as the story unfolds. On the plus side, Memento was a fantastic movie which means that even with those “I’ve seen this before” moments, it’s still a gripping story. Highly recommend!.Version: 1.04

Absolutely excellent! It’s so nice to occasionally come across a game meant more for adults, this definitely has more meat on its bones than the hos and match 3 the store is crammed with, no iaps here just great imagination and talented developers offering brilliant story and puzzles in an original way. I loved Device 6 and while it does take some ideas it is definitely it’s own creation. I love the story being drip fed you as you progress, the puzzles are logical and of medium difficulty, and that song alone is worth the fee....I can’t get it out of my head! Brilliant! Well done on another excellent game. Edit: so I’ve just finished and wow just wow, I can’t believe ppl can put together such amazing content , it’s leap years ahead of most of the **** that clogs up the App Store. This game deserves so much recognition and I want to say a huge thank you 🙏 to the developers responsible for such originality..Version: 1.04
