✓ Can’t get all the achievements…Hey guys, I’m an achievement hunter and I downloaded this because of my subscription to Apple Arcade… but it seems impossible to get them all as the Easter and thanks giving events are not playable… Another thing too I can’t seem to be able to unlock the 28 days and the 28 days in a row, I’ve completed the challenge like 3 times and haven’t unlocked it… Every time I get to day 27 I get the achievement day 1 again… please fix this so I can get that game completed! Thanks (I would rate it more if there wasn’t this problems)..Version: 1.19.0
✓ I still like the gameI’m giving three stars only because every time I log in to this game, I literally have to restart it. No matter how far I get. I love this game. It is a lot of fun. Especially when you need to kill some time. But it’s very annoying that every time I log into this game, I have to start all the way over. I have everything logged in and saved. ✓ Installed update brokenWas looking forward to update. Went through entire game again. Said found all elements then said find all combos in + mode. Well though I just did that. So played again and all my progress under plus mode is gone. So I go through again. Find all the elements then tells me to find all combos through plus mode. I was in plus mode. It brings me back to title screen and I select plus mode again. And again it wiped all my progress and started me a the beginning. Will not play through again. ✓ RepetitiveComplete main story quickly then you unlock a story mode plus and you think you might find something new that’s why we check it out, so I completed that and it’s the same thing as the main story mode, nothing new!!! Had many issues with the save feature, I found out as longs you task manage the app away during game you’ll lose your save, the key is to go back to the main menu and after it says loading then it’s safe to turn off. The extra modes princess and halloween isn’t that exciting in my opinion and not that expansive but it’s a nice change of scenery. Unfortunately I have wondered why am I wasting my time with this game way too often. This is a let down to the series. To the developers, I'm sorry but good effort. ✓ That’s it?This is a beautiful game and is good for idly passing some time, but there is nothing more to it than coming up with combinations of elements to create a new one. I had hoped that the world I was creating would evolve or more game options would open up, but it appears that each new element gets a little spot on the world like a trophy, and that’s it. No interactions on the world, nothing. There are other modes that aren’t functional yet, but I don’t feel like waiting around for them so I’m deleting it. This was my first game played on Apple Arcade, and if this is as complex as it gets with their games, I’ll be canceling it soon. ✓ Cool concept, I guessThis is an interesting idea but often ends up being boring (trying every possible combination) and annoying (when you finally find the combo and it’s something you would have never found without brute-forcing). Sure, hints are available, but if you're like me you try not to use them much to keep in the “spirit of the game”. Maybe I'm just weird like that. Anyway, I’ve seen reviews that talk about this, but there are other things I haven't seen mentioned (1) The cast of characters on the icons is wonderfully diverse, but whoever made the planet view decided everyone should be white. Why?!? (2) The english is very broken in the challenges, at least the two that I tried. It damages the atmosphere of a “smart” game (which I think is what the devs are going for), as well as gives the message to the player that these updates were thrown together without much quality control. I suggest you look elsewhere for iterations on this concept..Version: 1.7.0

✓ Released too earlyThis game is pretty, fun and moderately challenging. It is a huge array of possible matches to keep track of, and I guess the idea is find all the correct combos with the least number of attempts (don't know, not explained). No way to know if you have attempted a given match before unless you can track it in your head. Agree with other reviewers that some matches miss the mark and other obvious choices are missing, but that would be expected in a game like this. More content is promised, but no idea of when it will be available. Since I have played through once, I would like to start a new game, but that option is not available. ✓ Worse than I rememberedI was eager to play this on Arcade, because this series always seemed like it could have had potential if not for the increasingly annoying microtransaction grabs. Turns out… it didn’t. As alchemy games go, this one is just… lacking. It doesn’t take itself seriously enough to have a strong library of logical combinations, but it doesn’t bring the wacky sense of humour that charms past that in other alchemy games. There are clever combinations that are *ahem* similar to what appears in funnier games, but without the surrounding combo context the humour is lost. Without being part of a larger set, these jokey ones just come off as arbitrary and weird. They’re also not much fun to work out without the escalating wacky progression. Give this a miss and buy one of the older alchemy games it *resembles*. Every game will be like this if we don’t support creators that put more thought and content into their games..Version: 1.1.3

✓ Was fun for the maybe 20 minutes I could get it to runAfter that, the app crashed and when I tried to reopen, I got stuck in a loading menu. Tried deleting and redownloading the app several times, but every time I would just get stuck loading. I tried playing with and without wifi, turning off Bluetooth mode, and letting it load for more than 10 minutes, all to no avail. My only guess as to what could be the problem is that I received multiple notifications when opening the app that my iCloud storage was full. I didn’t really have any intention of storage for a game I hadn’t played, and if that’s what’s causing the issue, that’s very frustrating. Additionally, going to this developer’s support page was kind of bizarre. The page was mostly barren, only a “check ticket status” option. There was now FAQ, and the only way to submit a request for support was to create an account. I did so, but was unable to access my account until confirming my email. I never received a confirmation email, and there was no way to ask them to resend. I’m currently updating my phone, which hopefully may solve the problem, but the experience has been frustrating..Version: 1.5.1

Once you understand how to match the elements you are not presented with any challenges or story. I don’t know why this was released before it was complete. ✓ A Bug?I rarely write reviews honestly, but whenever playing Evolution+, I cannot get past number 348. I can’t use hints either because whenever I tap one, it blacks out and the countdown to receive a new hint starts. I also think it’s insane that you only received one new hint of each kind no matter how long it’s been since you opened the app. I opened the game after work and had only 3 hints, one for each type. I like the game, but I am dropping one star for the glitch and another because I think they should give you more than one hint. I’ll change my rating if these issues are fixed. The game is unplayable to me until they are. I already played through all the quests, so no need to reply and ask me if I have done the quests, developers…because I’ve noticed they do that crap a lot, and do not ask me to change my rating either. ✓ Play the original, to be completely honestThis is Doodle God gameplay all right. But they took the “Doodle” out of it, replaced it with a weird mix of realtime polygonal 3D, and digital art that goes out of its way to be diverse within its style. An odd combo that doesn’t not work, but the intent behind it feels smoothed-out and corporate. But the biggest issue I have is that it’s nigh impossible to avoid the 3D models it’s rendering. Even if you tap to go back out to the elements screen after a reaction, it renders the new thing on the planet in the background, using battery like crazy and heating your phone. After all this it gave me the “Rate the game!” popup, so here I am. I felt mildly miffed enough to come over here and actually write something. All in all, I think I’m actually gonna put this one down and go play the originals, despite the fact this is included with Apple Arcade. I get a kick out of the gameplay whenever I think about the series, once in a blue moon, but there was charm in the former simplicity obviously lost on people out to make money..Version: 1.1.4
✓ Cant access evolution+I’ve been waiting for the update on this game since I beat it a couple of months ago. I finally see that the game has been updated. I open the game and try to go into evolution+ and it says I’ve only discovered 100 out of 138 elements. I find that strange because I was pretty sure I beat the game, so I go back to the regular evolution and see that I do have all 138 elements. I clicked on the last evolution and it brought me to a screen with other peoples stars and tells me congratulations you’ve discovered all the elements, now go play evolution+ to discover more. I looked everywhere on the screen and there was no way to exit out back to the main menu. I tried exiting out of the game but that just reset the whole process. I would like to play but I don’t know what else to do or what I’m missing..Version: 1.2.0

However, when I loaded the game today I was missing many elements. I still have the achievements for creating 70 elements and when I load in it tells me I only have 38. I opened it this morning and still had the 70, went to play it later in the day and I had 38. I am not going to go back and waste my time remaking all of the ones I am missing, I am just going to leave the game and accept that it was cool while it lasted. ✓ Shows Promise, Needs WorkStarted this game remembering when I played as a kid. It delivers on that, but disappoints in many respects. It really needed more time Cons: -unfinished. Selecting Evolution+ cause the game to freeze up for a few seconds before it tells me that it’s locked until I’ve found all 134 combinations, which I already have. Upon going into the regular Evolution option it then realizes I’ve found all the combinations previously and unlocks Evolution+. Once I reopen Evolution+ again now that it open to me, it wants me to find all the combinations I’ve already discovered AGAIN before I unlock the new combination..Version: 1.1.7

While the lack of ads is always a plus it doesn't really bring anything new to the table, and actually cuts quite a few classic elements. Really disappointed at the lack of sin-related stuff because some of it wasn't even mature and the ones that were could have been reworked to be more family-friendly. You simply solve everything by clicking on hints if you get bored of working your way through the element trees. I genuinely don’t understand what this game is. And why are the animations in the elements bits completely different styles to the polygon world? Why would I be interested in a non-interactive world anyway? Really. ✓ Misattributes quotes repeatedlyIn general, it’s a Doodle God game. You should already know what to expect for gameplay. You mash ingredients together hoping to unlock the next ingredient. Nothing new there. The new thing is that some of these things will “spawn” on your planet so you can visibly see the changes you make as you progress. Pretty cool! What annoys me is that when you unlock a recipe you get a blurb or quote and in this game the quote is often COMPLETELY misattributed, or is just labelled “proverb”. This is especially common when they quote a Bible verse. Instead of quoting the Bible it’s changed slightly and they just label it “Proverb”. For example, “You must separate the wheat from the chaff” is attributed as a generic “proverb”. Despite the fact that it’s VERY well known to have been part of Jesus’ parables. This is minor, but starts to feel intentional as it happens OVER and OVER again..Version: 1.9.1
✓ I love this gameI really do. And I appreciate the recent update that means I don’t have to sit through the planet cut scenes. But the only way I’ll give 5 stars is if you groups don’t automatically close every time I find a new element. It’s disruptive and makes me want to stop playing completely rather than play the other game modes, in particular Evolution+ where I have to start over. I want an ‘oh cool a new element! What does the quote say?’ moment instead of a ‘quick tap tap tap before I forget where I was up to’ ending with me forgetting anyway, and feeling disappointed. Edit: the developer response to this was poor. Please make it a setting option so I can play the game the way I enjoy playing it. The red badge to indicate a new element is bugged and doesn’t work anyway. So it reverts to a screen of categories for no gain, and just impacts the enjoyable and relaxing flow of matching, which is why I play. In the update log it was said it was due to quick tapping on the logo screen, so when I loaded up the update I didn’t touch the screen until it once again got stuck on the earth. So then I tried re-downloading the game entirely and once again not touching the screen until it was done loading the game. This did not work. You did not fix the bug. When I went to load the game, it’s back at 2/100 of the very beginning. I spent all of my free time yesterday trying to do all the combinations again. The game kept crashing and I kept trying to load it and reload it, and finally I got to about 10 short of finding all combinations and the game crashed again and I’ve lost all progress again, and I’m back to the beginning again. ✓ Enjoyable but turns unintuitive as you progressSo at first it was very enjoyable because it reminded me of science knowledge that I had long forgotten but then it became less about which things would really combine to work and more about guessing the developers ideas. ✓ Major let downLet me start by saying that I *love* the original Doodle God games. I rarely purchase apps, and I bought 6/8 of the originals. This version, however, is so disappointing.. First, PLEASE make the option to stop seeing the planet animation available immediately instead of 10 elements in. It's so incredibly nauseating. On that topic, an accessibility option to stop the groups from wiggling up and down would also be a really good idea. (I tried to find this option in settings.. if I've missed it and you tell me where to fix it, I will adjust the rating for this portion of the review.) I'm also very disappointed that the really useful upgrades are no longer available. "Elements without pairs," "Show final elements," and "Disable repetition" were so helpful, especially if you didn't want too much of a hint. "Disable repetition" was SUCH a time saver, and having read some of the negative reviews, seems as though it would be very appreciated..Version: 1.15.0
