Zing ReviewFirst time using this app. I loved it, it has a visual coach that shows you how to do the workout. Your able to choose how long, how much you like to workout, what equipment you have available. I have used and tried many apps but this one by far has a lot your able to customize to your preference. If you never really worked out before and aren’t comfortable this is definitely a great way to start at home or in a gym. Thank you Zing!.Version: 1.42

SuperbVery good training app and very motivating.Version: 1.26

Once it works it’s goodI had issues when I first got the app but was sorted quickly.Version: 1.61.1

Ideas for improvementI really like the app overall, but I think it could definitely be better. I think there should be more options for user input. The schedule cant be changed for an update life schedule. As well as there should be options for more training styles and cardio options should be included. I really live zing but I wish it would allow me to train for my races. I'm training for a half marathon in April and I wish that I could either pair it with a running app so they work together or strictly work within the same app so that my strength training pairs with my running plan. I wish there was like a chat board you could talk to the so called ai system to provide input and feedback as well..Version: 1.57

The AI coach I was looking forI turn 35 this year and have become concerned with my health and fitness as I age. I’ve spent a lot of time researching an app that uses the data from HealthKit in a smart way to create custom workouts and I think this is it. I use this and Cronometer to track my nutrition. Combined, I feel I have the necessary tools, information, and personalized nutrition and workout plan to stay in shape moving forward. The body scan seems to be about 1.5 pounds off for me in the overall weight, which is still very very good considering it takes almost no time. It also manages to be very close my actual body fat percentages. This is a glimpse of the AI future of fitness that I personally have been very excited about and I’m very much looking forward to upcoming features!.Version: 1.47

AmazingW app.Version: 1.60.4

Best fitness app out thereI’ve used expensive PTs, other fitness apps and made my own plans from YouTube. This is without a doubt the best app, plan maker and fitness guide on the market. The UX is clean and easy to use. I just wish there was a referral feature!.Version: 1.41.1

Good app could use some tweaksI like the zing app overall. The only thing is when I start my workout there is no way to skip around between the different exercises. For example if the bench press is not available at the moment I want to go do a different exercise until one opens but I don’t have the option to skip or go back. I like the workouts as a whole and I like the body scan. I get curious about the accuracy of the body scan because there are discrepancies between it and my scale that tells metrics such as fat % etc..Version: 1.54.1

Weight training and stretchingOne of the best apps of used and I’m enjoying it so much. No want to boss me around. I need to push myself with the help of this app highly recommended to everyone.Version: 1.46.2

I love it but can be ✨better✨The app is pretty easy to use and the demonstrations are spot on. There’s a lot of workouts to choose from and you can customize it to your liking. 🤌🏼 The one thing that would make the app a whole lot better is if you could add exercises you’ve completed that isn’t included in your daily workout. So that the data is accurate. Usually, I run and sometimes do an extra exercise that I want to add to my progress. If you could add that feature, this app would be perfect 🤩 pls.Version: 1.57

Zing AI workoutI just recently started working out again at home. I’m 56 and have always been in shape until the pandemic happened and I let myself go. I downloaded this app and it was the best thing I could of done. It’s motivational, easy to follow even if your new to working out. It can be done from home. The best thing I like about Zing is the instructors and the encouragement u get with every workout. My program is designed by zing so no thinking of what part of my body to work out. It’s literally the best. Love it so much..Version: 1.57.1

Highly rateHave used some fitness apps in my time and this one is up there with one of the best. Love that you can change up the single work out and there’s a very good mixture of different ones. Very straight forward and easy to follow app.Version: 1.62

Impressed so farEach year I start off downloading a new fitness app to help me stay on track my fitness goals. The reason for that I normally lose interest then end up not working out due to being bored with the app. Now we are here the year 2023 and I have downloaded ZING! What makes this app different from the rest is that you have to take a fitness test (which is pretty cool). You get 3 free workouts (I’ve passed that and paid for the year). Since I have a home gym I pick the gym workouts. 1 thing I noticed is that there were no audio guidance with the gym workouts and it also doesn’t activate the watch app (I would imagine they are working on that). Besides that The workouts are GREAT you get a warmup, your workout and a cool down. I really like that it’s an actual person demonstrating the workouts instead of an animation. I see this app really helping me stay on track with my fitness journey through the whole year. (If so I’ll be signing up again for next year). Once you finish your workout for the day you can see tomorrows workout until tomorrow (at 1st I thought that was odd but now I like cause It gives me something to look forward to)…another cool feature is the fresh muscle group tracker…I’ll say just give it a try before you buy and see if it works for you.Version: 1.30

So far so goodI’ve tried multiple programs with no luck. The gym is too intimidating for me. A “custom workout plan with meal plan” completely missed the mark and was a waste of money. It’s either moves I can’t do due to knee injury or it just doesn’t keep my attention. I was able to note that I have a knee injury and I havent had any issues. Even exercises I can’t do (very few) I am able to modify it without feeling like I’m not getting a good work out. I love how some days I’m short on time or just don’t feel like working out I can change the workout to fit my needs for the day but still feel as if I accomplished something. The intensity is great and the workouts are great! It’s only been about 2 weeks but the progress is there and I actually look forward to working out (almost) every day.Version: 1.42

AI rulesJust did my first five minutes and it’s awesome. I did the New Year’s resolution competition. Amazing that it counts my reps..Version: 1.59

Pleasantly surprisedThere’s are so many app out there, and I’ve tried my fair 100 apps over my fitness journey (or lack there of) so my expectation wasn’t hi to be honest. The original Q&A was thorough like most apps, I really liked that the body mass image was very realistic in imaging, I recognised my body shape as soon as I saw it, and it showed me a realistic image of what my goal is which is quite motivating to see that. For the workouts, I’ve just finished my first one, and while I am sweaty and taking a moment to catch my breath, it was manageable for what I have selected, it kind of feels like a game you’re playing making sure you posture is good to hit the green bar and have your reps counted in the timeframe. I really enjoyed this and look forward to my next workout. Highly recommend this for anyone who has lost their motivation, and is struggling to show up consistently this definitely makes you sweat but is also fun..Version: 1.58

So far, so goodAs a gym rat, I’ve been looking for a great app that will just give me a plan without me having to think myself - get in, do the workout & get out. This so far has been great. The only thing I suggest is being able to add custom machines/exercises that aren’t on the app. There is a few exercises I want to add to my workout, but unable to put them in my work out plan which is disappointing. Other than this, the app is great so far..Version: 1.59

I feel it’s over rated.I’m not sure what happened but it reversed my progress. I also don’t know how to control my subscription or purchase. Will it be renewed? Do I have the option to not renew. I don’t think I want to renew when the time comes. I’m hoping it doesn’t auto renew. I’m a little anxious about it. That makes this app undesirable. The assigned workouts were ok until it reversed my progress and not isn’t sufficient. Three months later I change my rating to 5 stars. I guess in the beginning it was building me up. It’s working me harder then I would’ve on my own or my other current apps because it’s personalized. As far a subscription renewal, when it was time it asked me if I wanted to renew. I did. I paid for a year renewal. I’m going to follow it’s nutritional recommendation too. Thanks Zing. I’m really motivated spending the year with you..Version: 1.58

Love this App!- I have always had a tough time with being consistent with my work outs until I discovered this app! I haven’t missed more than two days since I started over a month ago! I was able to easily slip this app into my morning routine and have never felt better since! I look forward to it everyday and make sure I get it done. The flexibility to choose how long you want each session to be allows you to get some activity in no matter how your day is looking. The exercises are effective and show real results in just a week! Consistent is absolutely key and this app has subconsciously helped me with that! - I will say is that the technicalities of the app itself could be better. Sometimes my music disconnects in the middle of a session or the video demonstration will cut out, but besides that, this app is totally worth it! - one way to improve the app would be to have more options within the workout session screen. For example, if I choose a 15 min workout and then decide I want to add another 15 min, I want to add that time without starting a whole new workout session. Another would be to allow the user to skip the rest periods or control the amount of time each rest period is. Sometimes they are too long for the exercise at hand. That’s just my humble option. But I love this app overall! 9.7/10.Version: 1.56

First workout completeJust completed my first workout after downloading the app last night. I’m a gym owner and certified Health Coach but I’m also a 50-year old human with my own motivation demons and I like to try new approaches to my workouts so I don’t get bored. So far, I really like the app. A couple of features I wish it had and maybe it does but I haven’t found them yet: 1) an actual timer built in for the warm-up and cool down exercises that are timed 2) the ability to adjust the rest time in the workout between sets 3) integration with food tracking apps 4) the ability to skip ahead to the next exercise and circle back to previous exercises in case the equipment needed is in use Those are my initial thoughts. Will be curious to see how I like things moving forward. For the price, this seems good so far 👍🏼.Version: 1.47

More injury optionsI’m really enjoying the app right now and love the home and gym workouts. There are a few things missing like the voice for gym workouts and Apple Watch sync. However I can get over these hiccups because I am enjoying the workouts. The most significant issue for me is that there isn’t more detailed options in the injury restriction. Currently I have a strained hamstring that I am recovering from. Modifying all the workouts is tedious and can’t always be done in app. The other injury actions such as knee and back don’t are closer(ish) but still have a lot of hamstring activation. It’s important to treat injuries carefully and as much as I enjoy the app it can definitely improve with more detailed injury options..Version: 1.44

Let me talk to and train my own ai coachIt’s a great app and I’ve enjoyed the workouts so far. You can get a bigger discount if you click out of the first order screen so it was definitely worth the try at that point. It was marketed as ai so I would really like the ability to talk to my own ai coach and tell her specific things like my knees pop during this part or atleast give feedback on the level of difficulty it was for you on the workout to better train it. Also, connect with Fitbit please!.Version: 1.46.1

Just learningJust started studying the app but I’m loving teaching me how to use the machine properly.Version: 1.50

SoundI’m not getting any sound through the app.Version: 1.45.1

Almost PerfectThe app has improved quite a bit in the last 6 months including being able to pick the amount of time you have and specific muscle groups to have it create a custom workout. This is unmatched and got the app from 3 to 4 star rating. Then you can swap workouts out depending on what’s available at the gym or what feels better to you. A couple BIG IMPROVEMENTS needed though are more variations. They only have a small fraction of the number of exercises and lifts that can be done. Granted they are targeting most muscle groups, they need more that matches gym equipment. Single vs Double arm/leg. They also need a way to edit your full routine once you’ve started including the ability to see what’s next. Even a way to swap out the order depending on availability of equipment..Version: 1.51.1

SuggestionsA few things I would recommend. 1. When in a workout have the option to either skip ahead m to a different exercise. I know for me and most people who have a public hym. It can be difficult to obtain a certain machine or equipment because it’s currently in use and the app refuses to move forward…this has to be the most annoying thing because the only thing I can do is wait for the machine/equipment to be out of use or just stop the work out overall 2.a time estimator would be amazing as well that shows how much estimated time left.Version: 1.57.1

Ai body scanThe ai body scan shouldn’t cost more to get I reckon. It’s not too expensive but it adds up in the end. I really want the ai body scan but can’t afford it. You should add it all in together instead of it been separately. But I love this app. Would love it more for body scan tho..Version: 1.61.1

ZingFantastic.Version: 1.22

Still some issuesI have been using Zing for about 5 months now and this far all my reviews and thoughts on the app have been very positive, however there are some areas that are frustrating: 1. Apple Watch application - even with the newest Apple Watch there is still a glitch where the app will not close following the workout and I will have 4000+ calories burned by the end of the day (obviously an oversight) 2. Workout variability - I am currently doing a fat loss program and although the initial part of the program was keeping me engaged by throwing in new workouts and active rest days (foam rolling) it has now downgraded to daily full body workouts which make my body constantly exhausted with no real time to fully recover. 3. Interface - according to their website there should be a place to see my energy levels and other metrics but it does not seem to exist in the app - further there is a great feature which tracks your progressive overload but no one place to see so if you want to track your progress you have to go back to every workout log you have and figure it out like that - talking to the model, I don’t fully understand the need for a “communication” with the model where I only put in how well my sleep was last night- it’s already connected to my Apple health and should be able to track that.Version: 1.57

PT at your handsLove it.Version: 1.62.1

Excellent fitness coach/appI highly recommend this app for your fitness goals. I have been a regular gym, attender for many many years. I have always tried to do my own thing, however, results never really came. I enjoy working out by myself because I work at odd hours. it is nice to have a coach to tell me exactly what to do how much to lift based on my previous efforts. The fitness challenges are great. I had to recommend this app and will continue to give it five stars..Version: 1.58

Great app, some small room for improvement. So far, I really like the app, there’s a few things that I feel it’s lacking in that could be added and make it 10 times better than it is (not that it’s a bad app by any means), like, I wish there was a feature that would allow you to put in an injury like if you had pulled a muscle in your leg or something like that. And I wish there was more customization options for the length of the workouts. And, when you go to adapt the work out, I wish you could add extra work out on top of how many the app initially set up for you. another really cool feature would be a chat that you could talk to and advice questions that would then integrate the information you provided that chat into your workout routine. otherwise, though it has been very good, I love the fact that I can track my weights and reps on my Apple Watch so I don’t have to hold my phone constantly..Version: 1.56.2

Finally! A dynamic fitness appI’ve tried so many apps to follow and most of them are garbage. This one is genuinely good. If you’re looking for some training variation and accountability, zing is great. It also integrates nicely with Apple Watch and the health app, so everything gets tracked through iOS..Version: 1.59

Quality of Life Suggestions!Hi guys, I’m really loving Zing! I just have a few suggestions that I think would make this the perfect app. Getting a notification when the rest timer between sets is done would be so great. Often I turn my phone off between sets so it would be great if I didn’t have to keep turning it on and opening the app to check the time left and see when I’m gonna start my next set :) Also I think adding widgets would be great! You could do Lock Screen ones such as ones that show you your activity streak and then also Home Screen ones that could show you your next workout for the day. These are just a couple ideas but I’m sure there could be more too :) Again thanks so much this would be a 5 star app if you had those things!.Version: 1.58

Great fitness app!I absolutely love Zing app! As a busy person, I often dont have much time to plan for my workouts. I’ve had complete programs manually tracked for years but after discovering this app made everything so much easier and efficient! The reason for 4 stars is I wish they could integrate their program with Garmin as well. Currently, they only have the option to sync with apple watch. It’d be great if Garmin watches can be synced too!.Version: 1.49

My FavouriteIt’s fun, interactive and motivation.Version: 1.58

Excellent personalized experienceReally enjoyed assessment of my physical strength (although not sure about the age metric) Like engaging trainer style and how training is fitting my personal needs. It’s great that I can also track running and other activities, not only physical exercises. Best fitness app totally worth paying for!.Version: 1.19

Great tool to focus youI’ve been using zing for about two weeks now and I gotta say it is worth it. First, you have to get your measurements and do your fit test (this is you training the AI program). Yes, the body scan has a one time fee but it is worth it: it is also insanely accurate compared to my in person assessments I get at work. The AI auto updates based on your routine and performance; tracks your muscles that need recovery; and demonstrates the moves with the proper cadences. It is a very well built app. Things I would like to see: the ability to add to the routine (for example I almost always add in core work) and the ability for you to do body building verse body performance (example: really heavy weight at low reps) while it is ‘possible’ by adjusting the reps and weights manually, a muscle building feature would be great. Last thing I would PAY for: a customized eating plan to accompany the work outs. That would be the absolutely chefs kiss! Overall, very pleased and highly recommended!.Version: 1.54.1

Awesome AppI’m really picky when it comes to exercise apps, but this one passes my approval. The variety of exercises as well as the UI is extremely pleasant. I actually enjoy opening the app each day. I’ve done more variations of moves in two weeks than I have in an entire year with another popular fitness app. The only complaint is that I can’t go back to view the full workout once I hit the start button. Other than that, 10/10.Version: 1.39

Zing WorkoutsPretty good app overall so far. Plenty of exercises within the app. Options to replace exercises if machines or weights are not available or in use at your gym. App integrates well with other apps. Biggest downside is price. I would say the trial price point is where they should be realistically. The app is a la carte heavy which is a pretty big disappointment. Price increase is steep after your trial. Hopefully they have other options at the end of the trial we paid for because overall it is quality so far..Version: 1.56.1

Got me out of my comfort zone. Needs more AI.I like the program but sometimes wonder how much intelligence this app has. Sometimes it suggests I do the same workout back to back, including recovery stretches. When I go into the settings, it thinks I need to log in, while I am logged in. I don’t think it is truly tracking my progress. I wish it would connect with my Garmin watch. As of now it only connects with Apple Watches (don’t own one). I will continue to use but I hope they make improvements quickly..Version: 1.45.1

Good workoutsThe app doesn’t really take in account your injuries and you can’t preview the workouts before hitting start (can’t see the video demo or prepare the equipment you need without having to start and pause). Also doesn’t really have a meal or diet plan. However, in the good side they have good workouts and video demonstrations, it syncs well with apple fitness and watch. Plus it gives you constant calendar reminders on when to start your workout. You can adjust it to your schedule or location (gym or home). Then it’s more cost efficient than a personal trainer that’ll charge you 1000s of dollars for only a couple sessions..Version: 1.46.1

Zing is great, a couple improvements could make it amazing!I love the variety that Zing provides as well as the ways I can modify a workout before I start and also on the fly. There are two things that would really take it to the next level though. 1. Add input to/from Garmin and other top end fitness devices 2. Allow for adding or removing of sets during a specific set. If it is available now, it is not obvious. 3. Integrate w/ Garmin. Did I say that already? Well, unfortunately that is eventually a deal breaker for me..Version: 1.58

This app is greatThe app is great highely recommended it.Version: 1.50

AmazingBy far the best workout app I’ve every used, it’s absolute amazing.. thumbs up guys...Version: 1.58

Great for Variety and MotivationI enjoy this app. It helps to bring variety to my workouts and preventing stale routines. The video coaches are a nice touch. The average based streak is a really nice idea that prioritises consistency over perfection and helps you to maintain your motivation even when you have off days. Monthly challenge is super fun. Things I would like to see: - Unifying the ‘workout’ and ‘analytics’ pages into a singular dashboard . - ability to directly view the exercise library - fix of issue on Apple Watch where the “log set” button appears half off-screen and is difficult to press - on Apple Watch: displaying rest timer between exercises not just between sets. - it feels unfair to charge a premium for the body scan when I am already paying a premium subscription price. Thanks for the great app..Version: 1.62

A decent resource for going to the gym!Zing matches your skill level and as someone just coming back to the gym I would reccomend it UPDATE: after a week of using this app I have had several issues modifying the workouts and have found some of the customizable settings (such as the muscle group slider that allows you to set when your muscles need to recover) to be useless. Even when I set muscle groups down to “0%” it still gives me workouts for those muscle groups. Even when I try to get it to generate a “custom workout” it still gives me workouts for muscle groups that are STILL sore. I reached out to support 2 times and got no response. But they found the time to respond to this review…..Version: 1.32.1
