Dexcom G7 for Negative User Reviews

Not comfortable with iPhoneX and new feature is neededThis app (even the current version v1.9.2) is not compatible with iPhoneX with iOS 16.7.4 which is current. Very often user will receive “Signal lost” alert even the phone never be away from the user. It is so annoying. The monitor might have a weak Bluetooth connection. Wondering how this passed the IOT test in SQA. Feature request: Dexcom should add a feature to the app to allow user draw the entire monitoring history on the account but not just limited to the data in past 24hrs - Might be I didn’t look into the right place? At least I didn’t see that feature in current design. Since all the data was stored in Dexcom portal I see no reason the app can’t retrieve the data unless someone wants to charge a fee for that service..Version: 1.9.2

Needs many improvementsIn addition to what many others have reported already (connection issues, mostly), I think the app needs some feature enhancements. In particular, allow the user to: - scroll the graph - select other time periods (instead of only 3, 6, 12, and 24 hours) - add a name and optional details to activities - use the Apple Watch app as a complication - download ALL data points as a spreadsheet file Ok, maybe the last one should be a feature of the Clarity app, instead. Nonetheless, there’s plenty to improve on this app. Considering how it’s essentially half the product (no point having a sensor if one can’t read and analyse the data) and considering how expensive the product is, I’m surprised the company hasn’t invested more on making a better app..Version: 1.7.0

G7 doesn’t work on older iPhones.I can’t run iOS 16 on my iPhone which this app now requires to operate. The old app refuses to open and redirects me to the app store update which can’t be installed. So my product is effectively useless. Is there any other apps that are compatible with G7 and iOS 15??.Version: 1.3.1

Terrible!IPhone 15 Pro Max 17.2 - app crashes all the time! Using Connection tab freezes the app and then crashes it! Can’t access anything concerning the sensor, including changing the sensor due to ut freezing and crashing! Version 1.9! Considering they’re charging $100 a sensor, the product isn’t useless using the app!.Version: 1.9.0

Unreliable; a huge step backwardsI switched to the Dexcom G7 immediately upon its release. At first I thought there were errors with the first batches being shipped. However, after several orders and continuous problems (which I’ll detail below) they continued to operate horribly, and I have ultimately switched back to the Dexcom G6. These sensors continuously lose connectivity. If you rotate wrong in your sleep, move more than 5 feet away from your smartphone, or simply for reason at all. There are constant periods of time in which these sensors lose connectivity. When they lose connectivity they give false low readings, and seem never to recover to an accurate reading afterwards. I enjoy snowboarding and recently had a near panic attack on a lift because the connectivity was going out, giving false readings. there’s not much more anxiety provoking than a false “LOW” reading on a ski lift suspended 30 feet in the air. They fail on a regular basis. So many of these sensors failed before the 10 day period that Dexcom customer support informed me I reached a “maximum number of replacements in a 3 month period”. The amount of time I spent replacing these and sending old ones back for diagnostic testing was simply outrageous. If you’re using a G6, stick with it. If you’re looking for a new sensor, this one is almost as good as no sensor at all. Be very cautious..Version: 1.9.1

No notification anymoreI’ve had this for a couple of days and I’ve got absolutely no response back when I sent an email. I got this because I can no longer feel myself getting low anymore. The alerts were helping me when I went to sleep and my sugar but now I’m not getting any notifications anymore no matter what I do. I still get readings but no alerts telling me that I have a high sugar which is very disappointing without the alerts. I have no way to tell if my sugars is too low. I wish I could get a response on this issue..Version: 1.11.0

Can’t even pair to phoneDexcom won’t pair with my iPhone 14. Tech support just offered to replace the sensor which hasn’t helped. So disappointed.Version: 1.5.0

Far too controllingMy blood sugar goes up when I eat. The app notify me that it’s higher than it should be. And then it notified me when there’s a 0.1 drop. And then again. And then it notifies me again. And then it notifies me again. Then it notifies me again. If you’re getting annoyed reading this imagine it accompanied by a chime and vibration on your phone that you can’t ignore. The notifications are not useful. I expected blood sugar to go up. I don’t need to be informed when it’s out of range for 20 minutes. I don’t need a reading every time it reads above the expected level when it’s dropping like it’s supposed to anyway. Same thing happens for blood sugar lows. I know it’s low. I treated it and now it’s rising but I still get a notification every two minutes because I can’t make my blood sugar go back to the expected range instantly. So you’d think you can just turn notifications off right? You don’t need to be alerted in order for the device to function. WRONG. You MUST have notifications on for the it to work and it won’t let you use the app without it. That’s far to much control. I don’t like being forced to use an app a certain way and the experience I’m having above is exactly why. On top of this the blood sugar lows are not even close to accurate. Reading a 3.8 when I test with my other kit it says 5.3. But I still have to deal with the notifications I CAN’T TURN OFF BECAUSE THE APP DOESN’T FUNCTION WITHOUT IT. I’m on a two week trial for the device and 3 days in I can confidently say I will never touch Dexcom ever again. The most invasive, Infuriating and useless tech I’ve ever experienced with my diabetes. If you’re considering trying it, don’t. if also like to point out that in the time it took to write this review I got 3 notifications that I will ignore because my blood sugar is doing what in expected it to do.Version: 1.11.0

Incremental improvement to the G6 appFirst, the positive: landscape mode has units in the graph, amongst other small visual improvements. API support still exists. But… Still no dark mode (I suppose you could triple click the power button or home button, but why not use dark mode used by all other programs? 3am will continue to hurt. The app is much larger (200 MB vs 43 MB). For those on older phones, or those with RAM hungry apps like the camera or games, I fear ability to keep the app running in active RAM. I’d suggest use the app to start a sensor, then utilize Sugarmate and Endobits to fill in the missing conveniences, like better watch support, dark mode and predictive lows/highs..Version: 1.8.0

Calibration issuesDexcom G7 works well, when it works. I am having constant issues where I start a new sensor and the new sensor does not start reading properly until day 2 or 3 of the sensor being inserted. Also I am having constant issues with calibration. I add a calibration and later I will need to add another one and it won’t let me because the previous calibration hasn’t “processed” yet. It says to wait 5 minutes for the calibration to “process” at the time of this review it has said to wait 5 minutes for calibration to process for over 24 hours. What’s the point of a glucose monitor if it is inaccurate and cannot be calibrated to be accurate?.Version: 1.9.1

Useful but in need of a couple updatesFirst off, I wanna say that overall I like the g7 monitor for ease of comfort over the g6. That being said, there a couple things that would make this app a lot better. Signal loss seems to be a constant, especially after a few days of use. I had to turn off the alert for signal loss at one point because it was going off countless times and waking myself, my wife, and our 6 month old all hours of the night. I’m not sure how to fix that but it can be very frustrating. I have an Apple Watch and I sorely wish to at the very least, have the ability to see my blood sugar on the watch but all it does is tell me to check my phone for readings so I’m not sure why it even shows up on my watch as an app at all. The g6 app would occasionally show my readings which was great. Also, would be great to be able to customize your watch faces with current readings like you can with the weather/heart rate/etc. Besides that, I think the device and app are good and I’m grateful for the ability to have a constant reading instead of poking myself..Version: 1.11.0

BuggyCalibrated once. Then app would not allow future calibrations. It got stuck stating “wait 5 minutes” until a other calibration would be allowed. After a few days I had to delete the app and reinstall to allow calibrations. Also, updates of current blood sugar to Apple Watch are intermittent. Is there a way to “push” these at all times? Must lift wrist multiple times to trigger sync. Complications for displaying blood sugar only work on certain watch face locations. Dexcom seems to be skimping on tech support by outsourcing to the Philippines. Many of the support agents want to help but they force them to read overly polite and simplistic scripts that sometimes miss the key issues..Version: 1.11.0

Clarity issuesWhen I first started the clarity portion of the app was working good. The data was coming in clear. However, for about 2 months now the data doesn’t come right up when I open the app, sometimes it tells me data is not available even though I’ve been using the sensors for well over 6 months now. It’s been terrible recently. I would be using the other sensor on the market if my insurance allowed me to..Version: 1.9.0

DisappointmentSuch a disappointment…was really excited to finally have my readings on my watch, which is critical to my job but the amount of time spent having no connection and therefore no readings for no apparent reason is incredibly frustrating. None of the troubleshooting advice helps or makes any difference. Also, the fact I can’t complete any software updates on my phone or watch is just ridiculous. For such a potentiality game changing product, it falls short in so many ways. Please sort it out Dexcom!.Version: 1.5.0

Not a safe medical device App freezes up a lotNot a safe medical device for keeping track of insulin doses or what not. The App freezes up a lot. The essence of it is, Dexcom’s has an inability to keep their app up-to-date with new versions of Apple iOS. (Which I like to do because of security warnings from Apple) So basically, Dexcom blames the user of their app for the freeze ups, crashes, etc. of their own app, because the app user has updated their phone iOS to the newest version for security, which then causes bugs with updated Dexcom app. Here’s my response from Dexcom after many emails back and forth with them. Hello customer, Thank you for your response. We have updated your complaint with the information you provided in your response. Upon checking, the issue causing the "freezing" is the IOS version of the phone. The G7 app at the moment is only tested to work with IPhone 14 Promax that has an IOS version of 15.0.2 up to IOS 17.0. For future reference, we recommend not to update. This is also applicable to Apple watches as well. You can use this link to check compatibility of other devices. If you try to un install the app and reinstall it, it may not completely solve the issue because of the compatibility of your phone..Version: 1.11.0

Where’s the UX testing? This app had problems immediately after downloading. Incorrect alarms are the most annoying. I downloaded it for the alarm silencer, but keep in mind that’s only for THIS app. Of course that makes sense, but your t:connect app and your pump will still blare. I thought it would silence the pump too. I stopped using the app, and today I opened it where “critical” alarms started going off that weren’t legit. It said my sensor expired (it’s on day 3), low blood sugar (I wasn’t). Also, critical is a bit extreme haha. If you use tandem, just use t:connect. Much more reliable..Version: 1.9.2

Country of residence issueYour Dexcom country of residence is different from your phone’s location, seriously? That’s the most stupid problem I have ever seen in my life!!!.Version: 1.5.1

Apple Watch. This worked well until a couple of days ago. An app update now doesn’t work on my Apple Watch, which is the primary reason I opted for Dexcom! I’m thinking of changing to a cheaper cgm if this issue is not resolved..Version: 1.11.0

Widget doesn’t workAmongst a couple of other things, the widget is totally broken in iOS 17.2. Dexcom had plenty of time to iron out any kinks with the developer version of the new iOS update, yet didn’t do it. Extremely disappointing. Also, there are times where the app just simply fails to connect to the sensor for hours at a time despite my phone being on my person. The sensor’s size is great, but considering these issues along with the fact they have only JUST connected an insulin pump to the G7, I think I’m going to have to look elsewhere Dexcom developers, do your job. Dexcom, do your job..Version: 1.9.0

Like a faulty G6, DON’T BUYAs the title would suggest I am not a happy customer. Basically the G7 is a smaller but much worse version of the G6. It looses connection all the time requiring app and phone restarts to get readings again. This doesn’t really work when you are asleep though which is why I woke up last night with a fierce low just to see no data on the app from when I went to bed. If you have shares in Dexcom I’d sell now as this is going to be a disaster for the company. I’ve already bought Libre 3 and will not be returning..Version: 1.4.0

Recent app updateApp is extremely glitchy since latest update - data does not load, slow & unresponsive. Worst of all the alarms are now unreliable and do not trigger as required - this is dangerous! Please fix ASAP!.Version: 1.9.1

Poor customer service!!This company is a joke. They call me to reorder supplies, then tell me my insurance is not current (which we know is incorrect), we get the insurance on a 3 way call & she assures them nothing is wrong with the insurance, then he states ok, then he tells me I’m not in the system!!! I told him he’s the one that called me. He stumbled along & said he’d get our supplies but we never got them. We then got a call from a “care specialist” as she called herself. I asked if she was going to fix this problem & she just said she was calling to let me know she cared!!! Every time you talk to someone different. I’m sitting with 5 defective g7 devices and nothing to replace them. I don’t have much hope for that! Update: This company contacted us asap after this review & to date they have supplied us with all the failed sensors we had. Also, if you put a good waterproof bandaid around two sides you won’t get failed sensor connect reading!!.Version: 1.9.2

Location setings mandatoryI bought G7 in Uk and i can not use it because i do not live in Uk and i get mesage “county of residence issue”. I really do not understand why it should be such limitations only for G7 (i was G6 user till some months ago). Nowere in Dexcom webpage is given the information that will not work in other countries except the country of residence you buy it 😤. I hope you will solve this problem (limitation) soon.Version: 1.4.0

Poor connection to sensorI’d been waiting excitedly for the G7 sensor for such a long time but I must say I’m very disappointed with the upgrade. I love that the new G7 is smaller, more accurate and warms up quicker but the frequent losses of connection make the system almost unusable. I’ve discussed the problem with Dexcom support several times and their conclusion is that the G7 is not compatible with the IOS version of my iPhone (16.1.1). The current App version is 5 months old so this is not surprising. The app for the G6 is much more up to date and supports 16.1.1. Why Dexcom have not kept up to date with the latest IOS version for their flagship product mystifies me and they cannot tell me when there will be an update. So, I have 2 choices: struggle on with the current system until some random future date when they fix it or return to the G6. Very very disappointing!!.Version: 1.3.1

Loose control of life-interfering alarms..This company struggles to walk the (admittedly) fine-line between customer needs and covering their liability backside. As a result, the iPhone app is life disturbing. Dexcom overrides Apple and chooses its own settings, sounds and times to alarm. They have the weakest support organization in the medical community ever experienced. No second level or senior support to work with on the phone. Front line people are more like order takers that take volumes of information for a benign issue, put you on hold, then come back with the most maddening next question. Then another 8 minutes waiting the the next weak response. I am without a working system, in a foreign country and deleted the app so I could shut it up and get some sleep. And help is so close to zero. Nil. Then they offer to mail me a replacement sensor! Again, piling on my frustration. Do not commit to this system without understanding the PROS and CONS. UPDATE: As a response to this review, they offer to contact me. Of course, they ask volumes of information—most irrelevant—and do not provide the keyboard function for two required fields. Thus, submission is impossible from my iPhone 14Pro with latest iOS..Version: 1.11.0

No signal error on repeat.I have made sure all my settings won’t interfere with the Bluetooth and it still is spamming me with the no readings error on my watch until I open the app on my phone then it sorts itself. Please fix.Version: 1.9.0

Not working for IPhone 14 ProStill waiting for an update so that I can use the sensor..Version: 1.3.1

Help meThe account cannot be logged in all the time. It always shows that the country of residence is different. How to solve this problem.Version: 1.4.0

G7 is awful on Apple WatchI used the G6 paired to my Apple watch for years with no issues. Just recently switched to using G7’s and it is awful. Most of the time it does not display your glucose reading on the home screen of the watch, and it just shows two horizontal lines. The biggest issue is actually when it does display on the home screen and you push the button for more data, it always shows the same message - CHECK THE G7 APP ON YOUR PHONE. It displays the same message when you scroll through your Apps and press Dexcom G7. When using the G6 you could see the graph. Please get this corrected on the G7 App..Version: 1.9.0

Worse than the Dexcom oneI loved the G6. Never had a problem with it. However that can not be said for the G7. Struggled to push the button to implant it. Then it wouldn’t accept the photo of the SN of the sensor. App kept closing each time. Finally accepted it manually but since then the app will not open. I can’t access any readings. It occasionally flashes up a notification but again the app won’t open. Even if the app would work I don’t think I can use it with my watch. Maybe if the app was working properly I could. I’m hoping it will improve and it’s because it’s a new product but I feel that is wishful thinking. I’m so upset about it as I have loved the G6 but couldn’t afford to buy it all the time. I would like a refund but I don’t think it will happen. I’m not happy. I wished I had used the money to buy test strips for my meter as I’m having to use it all the time any way. I have requested contact from technical support so we will see..Version: 1.3.1

In rangeThe only thing I don’t like is that although I have been in range for at least four days the range hasn’t changed which is really annoying.Version: 1.6.0

Widget missingThe g7 widget was working a few weeks ago but it stopped working so I deleted it and now the option of a widget is missing altogether.Version: 1.4.0

App Performance is Awful!I have been using this app since June 23 and initially it was great. The connectivity to my Apple Watch was in sync with minimal disruptions. The data loaded pretty quickly; current values and the various glucose summaries. Then as of the last few weeks this app has gone down expeditiously! The amount of times I have a sensor issue with the phone and receiver right by my side is mind boggling. Then the data takes forever (ok more like 10 plus secs) if it even loads at all. What gives?! People are dependent on accurate and timely readings with little to no interruptions to live, literally. Also, why must the app remain open? I should be able to still receive readings with the app running in the background. If these things are addressed then the app will be 5 star!!!.Version: 1.9.1

Temporary alert not workingAlthough I set it has a wider range, it is still alert based on the primary..Version: 1.6.0

Country of residence issueVery poor app version update. Note that if you are travelling or living in another country you will not be able to log in to your account to use g7. Country of residence issue Your Dexcom country of residence is different from your phone's location. You must resolve this with Dexcom technical support to continue..Version: 1.4.0

Critical Alerts Issue Makes App uselessDo not buy the Dexcom G7 sensor until Dexcom fixes major issue with app. This apps notifications mandate regarding Critical Alerts makes the app useless. There is a notification setting called critical alerts that completely overrides one’s ability to use the app in environments where complete silence is expected. Even when the phone is set to silence and the main volume is turned all the way down, the critical alert settings overrides all volume settings and sound a loud alert alarm. Within the app notification settings, there is a selection to disable the critical alert function BUT when you disable it and try to use the app, a message blocking the use of the app is displayed stating that the app will not function or register any readings unless one re-enables the critical alert setting. So, the app is effectively rendered useless because I cannot have this setting overriding my ability to ensure my phone remains silent in settings that require such silence. The question is, why Dexcom has designed the app with the ability to disable Critical Alerts but when you do, won’t allow your app to work at all and forces you to turn the critical alerts sound override back on if you want to use the app. This is completely unacceptable and must be fixed immediately..Version: 1.11.0

They need to hire developersThis app is just forgotten about. Notification issues, multiple different readings at the exact same times, failures, it freezes. For a medical app this is terrible. Getting to the point now where I’m looking at switching to another CGM..Version: 1.9.0

I agree with others - it’s bad.The interface between the iPhone and Apple Watch is bad at best. The information on my watch is almost never current and often non existent. I thought it might be that I set up the interface wrong or missed something but I can’t find what I did wrong. Instructions are sketchy at best and when I call dexcom they tell me it is apples problem. This morning the dexcom app had disappeared completely from my Apple Watch..Version: 1.9.0

App is seriously lacklustre - Alarm systemIs brokenI've recently switched to trying Dexcom from freestyle libre and one thing was really driving me nuts, the alert volume. I need my alerts to be audible and wake me up at night. Instead my phone is only softly pinging. My apple watch was more audible. Turns out that the alert volume is not controlled by the "Alerts Volume" on my iPhone but is instead determined by the media volume. Meaning if I watch a video or music on my phone, If I turn the volume down it changes the volume of Dexcom alerts on my phone! What the actual heck. Why would any app, let alone a medical app link their alert volume to the media controls?.Version: 1.8.0

Bad appI have had this only 24 hours and have received 5 alerts stating my phone and Dexcom are not connected. My phone is literally in my hand and the Dexcom’s is in my arm. They are less than three feet apart. I also do not like I can’t print out a report which I can do if I use my glucose meter. When I walk up there isn’t a way to see the actual Numbers of what happened in the middle of the night. Also the alarm was going off at night even those I was 2 feet away from my phone. This woke me up. You can only silence the app for 6 hours yet most people sleep for 8. 👎🏼.Version: 1.9.0

Okay When it WorksI had to switch to the G7 about a month and a half ago after becoming pregnant due to the G6 not being approved for pregnancy. I have used the Dexcom G6 for over 3 years. I don’t have many signal or connectivity issues, but I feel like the notifications are all over the place. I’ll get a push notification that I’m 61 and dropping but when I open the app it’s saying 45, so it seems to be behind sometimes with the notifications. Sometimes they’re loud and sometimes they’re quiet and sometimes I don’t get notified at all. The widget doesn’t display a number most of the time which defeats the purpose. I enjoy having the clarity summary at the bottom and also like that there’s an option for notes now. This is about the product, not the app. The sensor patch and overpatch are very flimsy and not as secure as the G6. I find the G7 is peeling much quicker, and when I go to remove it the overpatch is very stretchy/thin and difficult to remove in one piece and rips into little pieces. I really want to like the G7, but I miss the physical structure of the G6 and the consistent notifications..Version: 1.9.2

Pros and ConsRecently switched to the g7, and I had high hopes. Certain things are much improved, like the urgent low alarm sound (the g6 urgent low sounded like an air raid siren, so this g7 chime sound is much less jarring). I use the Tandem pump and t:connect app, and I don’t want to have alerts/notifications for the same thing (highs or lows) on two different apps. For the most part I’m able to disable the notifications here since I prefer the tandem notifications, but the constant pop-ups that notifications are disabled when opening the g7 app are quite annoying. One bug I’ve not been able to deal with that urgently needs a fix is that the app freezes when I go into the Connections menu, and it doesn’t respond to any of the options on that screen or clicking into any of the other sections of the app either. So in my experience this part of the app is useless, and I have to close the app and restart to regain functionality. I’m not able to end a sensor when it starts losing accuracy near the end of the sensor life, and I’m forced to wait for the sensor to expire so I can start a new one. Other than those things, I like the interface and having the Clarity integration into the main Glucose screen of the app..Version: 1.11.0

Just okIk it’s based on body but can be wayyyy off. Other night saying I’m 40 and dropping but I was 130. And then it was stuck in calibration mode for 24 plus hours like I couldn’t add a calibration so I deleted the app and redownloaded…. Don’t do that. Even though you have an acct to log into, it saved nothing. I had to change my site (after 3 days of it in) for it to even register something. Clarity app kept everything before I deleted to the app and redownloaded it, but of course the dexcom app that gives me readings have nothing. Sooo needless to say it’ll be interesting when I go to Endo in March. Not great app..Version: 1.11.0

Losing ConnectivityI have both the G6 and G7 apps on my phone since I previously used the G6 sensors. Since changing to the G7 sensor I lose connectivity to my phone repeatedly. The only way to get the readings working again is to shut down my phone and restart it. When the G7 app stops I still have connectivity with other Bluetooth devices such as my Tandem pump, vehicle and Garmin watch. I NEVER had issues with the G6 app unless the phone wasn’t near the sensor. I lose the connection even when the phone is less than a foot away from the sensor and it won’t re-establish the connection. Very frustrating that it doesn’t work as well as the previous apps..Version: 1.11.0

New G7 is horrible and known issuesThe new G7s are known to have connectivity issues and readings that are way off. My son and I both wear one and his gives the most inaccurate readings where it says critical low around 50 but checking finger pricks with two different machines, his blood sugar is actually over 200. Mine has issues with staying connected to the Dexcom app and four nights now where I have been woke up between 2 and 4 AM because it goes off saying disconnected. I have changed the G7 out for a new one and still happens. My son’s doctor has said Dexcom knows there are issues and are sending out a new version of the G7 to try and correct the issues but are still allowing the faulty ones to be used so as to not lose money. You can tell the difference because the new G7s will have the numbers underlined on the box versus old ones that do not. Ready to try the Libre 3 after all the issues with Dexcom..Version: 1.11.0

Worst Dexcom everI regret moving from freestyle libre 2 to Dexcom G7 Once phone is in your pocket you always get notifications saying signal loss. This is not good especially when working 24/7. Will be going back to freestyle libre 2 at this rate..Version: 1.11.0

Disappointed in SafetyI fully understand how to use the app, and how to make sure that alarms are not silenced. However, one of the key differences in this version of dexcom is that there is still no widget available to quickly view and display the blood sugar reading. Previously, there were more guidelines put in either via the FDA or dexcom itself, that you would not be silencing alarms, or able to quickly view blood sugar data unimpeded. In future updates it would GREATLY, improve the lifestyle and freedom of other diabetics to be able to quickly view their blood sugar without needing to unlock their device and separately open the Dexcom G7 app. This sounds minor, but it’s some thing that would greatly improve just the ability to access and peace of mind of the user. Just some thing that I have noticed in the few months that I’ve been using this system that would help tremendously as it is reductive..Version: 1.11.0

Buggy and difficult to useI am pretty upset with the quality of the G7 app. For something that is absolutely critical to users’ health management it obviously was released too early with many, many flaws. First, logging in took me about ten tries, two calls to Dexcom technical support (wading through their overseas agents’ poor English skills), and resetting my password no less than four times. All this despite being able to log in with no problems to Clarity, the G7 app, and the web. Second, the app says it imported all my settings from the G6, but there are NO sound alerts. NONE despite the app saying it should, my ringer being on and up, and notifications enabled for the app. This is frankly ridiculous. Third, the absolutely unfathomable fact that there are multiple sensor versions out apparently—only some of which are compatible with my pump. This is so idiotic that I cannot even begin to understand the reasoning behind it. Overall, very disappointing app and sensor experience so far. Honestly I wish I could go back to the G6. At least I know that works..Version: 1.11.0

The worst health appThe app got deleted by mistake then I installed it again. Since then it keeps showing my the country of residence issue while I’m already in London. The app is not working and my health is under severe risk and the support team just watching there and reply like robots “you need to be in UK” !!.Version: 1.11.0

Unreliable at bestThis app has failed to alarm more than it has actually worked. It works as designed about 33% of the time, and misses far more critical lows than it catches. The glucose levels are pretty accurate, but it rarely alarms for critical low levels. Today I dropped to 46 and the alarm didn’t go off for me or any of my designated people. Initially I slept well using this bc I thought it would alert everyone when I dip low, but it doesn’t. My daughter found me confused and sleepy, my sugar was 54 and it didn’t go off. I have my low set at 80, a falling fast alarm, and it comes preset to go off at 55, but it didn’t. It definitely isn’t reliable enough to be considered safety equipment or medical equipment. Definitely would not use with an insulin pump and trust it overnight. I use this as directed in the packaging, I do daily finger sticks to make sure it’s accurate, but the alarms just don’t work. Also, a massive design flaw is that it won’t override your phone. So if you have your alarm set for 70, but your volume is down, the alarm won’t sound. If on the off chance it’s working at all that day. You can’t silence your phone at any time bc if you do, the app doesn’t work. It works well for tracking your numbers and trends, but that’s about it..Version: 1.9.1

Alert issuesPrior to the last update did not have any real issues with the app. After the last update am getting signal lost alerts repeatedly. However when I check the app it is still reporting my sugar levels. I have even turned on the receiver that I got from Dexcom and compared the sugars on it versus the app and yes the sugars are correct in the app. This makes me think something within the last update is causing the signal lost alerts to be sent in error. Also the last update has caused the high and low alerts to not be sent. I prefer to only use the app for tracking my sugars but with it being so unreliable right now and having to begin to use the Dexcom receiver. Would delete the app but need to keep it so my wife can follow my sugars..Version: 1.9.0

Sensor falloutUntil recently I used to use a G6, which was reasonably reliable, but wanted one with a smaller profile and quicker change over. When this works, it’s great. I have a couple of niggles over what you can and can’t do with the app, but otherwise I can live with that. What I find tough to comprehend is the constant multiple signal drop outs even when my phone is less than two feet from the transmitter. I notice this has been previously flagged as an issue, but it would appear unresolved. Also the app continues, really annoyingly, to flag up alerts which you’ve no means of cancelling the alert because you’re nowhere near being able to swap to a new sensor. I don’t need reminding every 30s that it’s lost communication/connection. There should be a way to shut this off that doesn’t temporarily involve deleting the app..Version: 1.11.0

Buggy and unreliableWhile the G7 system has some user experience improvements like a faster start time and easier infusion, both the app and the sensor/receiver interface is horrible. I never once had issues with the g6 application, and the slight improvements in hardware do not make up for the poor software performance. The app works less than 1/2 the times I go to open it - most of the time it simply refuses to launch and I have to manually close then reopen the application several times before it ‘catches’. When I do get it open it takes up to 30 seconds for it to ‘update’ and show my current readings. Beyond this, my phone/receiver is constantly losing connection to the sensor despite being less than 20 inches away, while other Bluetooth devices run fine at 50ft+ Multiple issues need to be resolved for this system to be with continued use.Version: 1.9.0

Connection issue’s constantlyWhen it works it’s great , however the sensor loses connection constantly throughout the day . It seems to have got worse recently too . Also since the last G7 update my apple watch Dexcom complications ( widgets ) no longer work . I have to open the app each time to see my blood glucose levels rather than giving my watch a quick glance . If the connection and watch issues get fixed this will be an amazing piece of kit ..Version: 1.5.1

Works OK except with Apple WatchSensor and iPhone app seem to work OK but the interface to the Apple Watch does not work at all. I either get a message to check my iPhone or it has a single dot and circle on the graph and no mg/dl readings. The support page is very difficult to use. The app won’t let you copy/paste and if you leave the support request page it deletes all your entered information. There is no place to describe your issue..Version: 1.9.2

Dr GAAbsolutely frustrated First application today now 2 hours since trying to connect Did not connect and gave me a final report to Dexcom server error. You pay money for such disappointing products.Version: 1.5.0

A significant downgrade in quality from the G6 appI get it, developing medical tech is hard and the UI/interfaces for the device itself comes secondary. But these are pricy devices and the software is lacking The G6 app was much, much better (but far from flawless itself). G7 sensor is great and I love it but there is no reason why the sensor improves generation by generation, while the app gets worse. Actionable feedback for the devs Feature requests: - [!!!] Bring back the widgets. Hate having to unlock my phone just to check my glucose levels. - [!!] can we have oauth or some better way to use Dexcom share? I get logged out randomly which is whatever but I hate having to a separate account. I’d understand if this is for compliance reasons though. - [!] Clarity should be merged into the sensor application or be coupled more tightly. - [?] A public & documented API would be nice. I don’t want to reverse engineer endpoints or hook up share in some hacky way for writing integrations with other services or my own programs. Bugs: - app initialization is flaky. It will take ages at times and be instant at others. This could be caused by low power w/ no background refresh but I’d still like a way to have it be fast regardless - random crashing during initialization. Not sure why, didn’t even ask me to file a report. I assume the telemetry already collects that but it’s somewhat frequent of an issue.Version: 1.9.1

Dexcom G7I’m having problems with the apt. I use my phone and the receiver that comes with product. I log my readings when I give myself insulin shots and record it. I check it by the next morning to see the day before and I’m missing my recorded information about my shots on both items. Why is this happening. Please could you tell me if your happing continuing problems with the G7 receiver problem between G7 apt on my I phone and the receiver that comes with product Thank You Randy P.Version: 1.9.2

Pros and ConsWell there’s not much good about the Dexcom g7 I feel it’s the same as g6 just smaller and you can’t lose your sencer because you always have to change it. The Dexcom falls off so easily and is barely sticky but not only that the Dexcom g7 is very inaccurate. The g7 showed that my blood was 307 and my pricer showed my blood sugar was 256 and I ever redid the finger print to make sure it was accurate and it was. So in other words the g6 is better and you should stick to g6 until the Dexcom company has fixed these problems with the g7.Version: 1.9.1

Better than competition but that does not say a lot1. It drains your battery very fast - that should NOT be needed with.a BLE unit (the sensor) - clear indication of really really bad programming! 2. App is OK but not great. You can’t zoom in graphs apart from selecting “time frames” 3. No real time saving of data outside of Dexcom’s app - everything is delayed on purpose - so your external data is 3 hours old before it becomes usable. 4. Sensor is great though - after 12 hours and no calibrations it is within +/- 0.2 mmol of my invasive devices. Much better luck than I had with the competing product. Too much waste on the applicator - not very environmentally thought through but no worse than competition. But if you have small children watch out for the tiny very shiny magnet in the applicator. Keep it FAR away from children and magpie like creatures..Version: 1.3.1

DisappointingAs a G6 user for over 2 years I never had many issues with anything really. I have now been ‘upgraded’ to G7 and I’m disappointed that I cannot add the widget to my today screen at all and there no way to see if it’s refreshing in the background or not! Guess I’m stuck with this awful thing until Dexcom invest in updating the app for UK users..Version: 1.4.0

No gland on update !Installed this hoping it would be a improvement but the glance widget has gone !!.Version: 1.4.0

Signal always lost!I hate this… half the time I’m checking the app to make sure it’s actually working … I could go for hours and not get a notification and once I check it it’s no signal being stuck with my phone all day I don’t understand why it’s constantly loosing signal. I don’t always have pockets to be carrying the other device reader and carrying it in my hand like my phone tends to get bulky in one hand and have seem to misplace it many times thank god never officially lost but why offer an app if it’s constantly off line.. been using it for 2 months already replaced about 5 of them through customer service … FYI you only get 3 every 90 days.Version: 1.9.0

Dexcom 6. & 7For some reason the past few weeks I have been off 80 pts. I called Dexcom to see if they could help figure it out and the young lady I spoke to was so kind but couldn’t understand or speak English well. All I got out of the call was send me a new one. They are usually off 20 pts higher than my sugar actually is so at least I know how to adjust my insulin. At least they stay on for more than 4 days if you can get one to measure correctly.Version: 1.9.2

Problems Problems ProblemsA longtime Dexcom user, the G7 & the app was supposed to take things to the next level but it is still woefully short of expectations & what should be in a place for a modern CGM app. Firstly, please make a true widget. They have now shrunk the today view app from the better size of the G7 today view app to the smallest one possible. This is a huge step backwards & was invaluable to people who just tapped their iPhone screen, swiped to the right & could see the live levels right there. Please fix this. Also, now we have the modern iPhone Pro’s with the always on displays, there should be a G7 app to take advantage of this to always be able to glance at live levels information without needing to touch or unlock the iPhone. Again, this is missing. Also, where is the true Apple Watch core Bluetooth integration that we were promised with the G6 over 5 years ago. To be able to have full access via the Apple Watch without constantly needing to have the iPhone as well is something that should be in place. I now & yet we are still waiting. Like others have mentioned in their respective reviews of the G7 app, there are range controls, & problems with the levels updating & displaying. Please get this sorted. As a further update, why are the latest iPhone 14 series not compatible / supported with the G7. This is absolute madness & needs sorting out asap to enable the G7 to work with the latest iPhones..Version: 1.4.0

Piece of bad softwareReally? You don’t allow me to disable notifications at all? And you don’t allow me to be activate This while on vacation in Not-allowed countries? I m using opensource addons and will continue do it, even if big corporations which only wants money don’t allow me to do it..Version: 1.7.1

Broken widgetThe latest update broke the widget and now all I have is a black box on my Home Screen and the Dexcom widget won’t show in the widgets list.Version: 1.4.0

Not a tool for weight lossMy doctor prescribed this tool for me to help me get my blood sugar controlled. To reverse my type 2 diabetes. However, this very expensive tool provides no insights to facilitate losing weight. The instructions describe the types of carbs and various calories that impact insulin. But the app doesn’t have the capability to input what one ate. Instead it relies on the person to use another company’s app or nutritional information to measure only the carbohydrates and not the type of carbohydrates. Any calorie will trigger insulin production, but Dexcom is quietly advocating a low carb diet. Exercise is another input allowed by dexcom, but it relies on the user to figure out the intensity, and it doesn’t have input for calories burned. Seeing the blood sugar trending is interesting. But there’s no ability to export the information to report on it or to compare it over time to determine progress or regress. As a tool for weight management or lifestyle change, it fails miserably. For a tool that will help one determine how much insulin one needs to take, great..Version: 1.11.0

No sound alertsMoved from G6 but this is such disappointment. Randomly alerts sound sometimes when sugar is high or low but not all the time. I was moved onto this for safeguarding my life at night when sugar levels are low. But alarms are never sounding most of times when it’s low or high. Might have to move to something else. G6 was miles better than this rubbish. really disappointing..Version: 1.7.1

So far not reliableMy 5yo autistic son has just been diagnosed with type 1 and the finger pricking causes him such distress we really do rely on the G7 to monitor his levels but it keeps having signal loss. I’ve tried the trouble shooting multiple times but still hasn’t come back on. This is very frustrating and now means I won’t sleep as I’ll be worrying about his levels all night. Please fix this bug.Version: 1.3.1

NHS please stop funding this awful productIt seams Dexcom have achieved the goal of NHS funding for there products so can lay back and let the cash roll in without putting in the effort so unless nhs stop funding this rubbish nothing will get sorted in a hurry unfortunately. Pretty much the same as other reviews lacking signal when it’s in my pocket next to the sensor. Notifications after notification signal loss , high level , signal loss , high levels an so on. If you’re determined to have a frustrating Dexcom product in your life just get a dexcom one it’s cheaper but just as bad so win win if that’s what u like. Dexcom shame on you!.Version: 1.3.1

G7I have just read a review which says you can not calibrate, THIS IS NOT TRUE… it can be done in the ‘history’ section. Only just put it on and still have my g6 on to compare for the next few days. Couple of hours in and we’re impressed. Hopefully it will continue.- UPDATE… do not recommend!! Signal is much weaker than that of the G6! If you intend to keep your phone on you, literally all the time then the g7 is for you. For a child or person who does not, then stick with the g6!! Signal drops within a very short space!.Version: 1.3.1

It worksThe good—it works. The bad—the look, feel, interface all are inferior to the G6 app. The G6 had events tab to log snacks, health, exercise which makes sense as those are events. The G7 has history which logically are events previously logged but no, history is where one logs in events. The interface with SIRI is not as good. The display colors - monochromatic. The developers seemed to think: we have a new app, let’s make it different..Version: 1.11.0

CHECK APP ON PHONEI have an Apple Watch Series 7 and an iPhone 15 Pro Max which is supposed to be compatible with the G7 app. Was really excited to be able to monitor my glucose with my Apple Watch. Updated the operating systems on the phone and watch. Tried reinstalling the app on the watch and just get the message “Check app on phone” the watch and phone are next to each other. Poor customer support on the website regarding devices. Fortunately, the phone pairs with the G7 CGM..Version: 1.11.0

AlarmsI like the app and have no issues other than going abroad where it refuses to connect to sensors. As well as problem that happens no matter what country you’re in - the alarms will go off even if muted!.Version: 1.6.0

App Alerts GlitchingApp Bug. The app when I click on the alerts is getting multiple notifications a second please fix..Version: 1.8.0

Terrible- tapping the connections tab freezes the app completely and you have to reopen it - refuses to show you ANY data if you turned off critical alerts in phone settings - impossible to toggle measuring units between mg/dL and mmol/L - impossible to configure alert thresholds/target ranges - data upload to Clarity is behind by three DAYS - data gets erased after 24h, unless you agree to upload all of it to the Clarity cloud servers.Version: 1.11.0

Very buggyIt is a very buggy app. Doesn’t recognize my email even though I have an account and when I try to sign up for a new account it says I can’t bc I have an account. Used a new email to sign up and then I get a message saying server error. Very unreliable for tracking important healthcare data. Please fix the countless bugs!! Also, on two separate instances I haven’t been able to use the actual sensor since it wasn’t able to find the sensor and establish connection. Complete waste of money..Version: 1.11.0

Abysmal !!This App is a disaster. Every time you leave your country of residence to travel everything goes haywire and it stops working. They should tell you that it doesn’t work abroad..Version: 1.5.1

AwfulCountry of residence issue!! In this day and age where everyone travels , this kind of limitation is absolute stupidity. Tried calling the number provided and they couldn’t do much as it wasn’t in their hands. The fact that or doesn’t work in any other country should be advertised in bold letters before people waste money on these..Version: 1.6.0

RubbishCan’t login keep saying error Dexcom is rubbish worst company make.Version: 1.11.0

G7 is way worse than g6. This app is slightly better, but….But this app is slightly better if it were not for the quiet mode… I have an apple watch which allows me to turn on vibrate/turn off alerts for my phone indefinitely, but, when I am sleeping I want sounds bc I don’t sleep with my watch, so ideally I would be able to set vibrate in a schedule and not have to set every single day for X hours… Would also be nice to have indicators in the graph (or in the logs) for when sensor fails at night, I woke up to a bunch of gaps and I have no idea why/what happened/if there was a sensor failure… The graph could be improved with me setting which insulin I am taking and their curve.Version: 1.9.1

Useless App so can’t use deviceKeep saying my username or password is wrong which it’s not because I’ve confirmed my email more than once and reset my password more than once. Buggy app! Complete waste of money and time..Version: 1.8.0

Naz NorMy app keep say no network connection keep restart and warning blood sugar low but when i use my blood test different results. I won’t recommend this apps.Version: 1.3.1

Only Works First 5 DaysAfter having a Freestyle Libre 3 for a while, my insurance stopped covering it and made me switch to the g7. Gave it a shot and have been on it for a month now, and every single time it has been the same. The first 4-5 days it works fairly well and the accuracy can sometimes be a little off, but usually isn’t too bad. However, on every single sensor I have used at this point, it stops working after day 4-5. Wildly inaccurate readings that jump all over the place. Caused me to give myself a bunch of correction insulin, only to find out by pricking my finger that I was actually already in range, and had just given myself a big dose of correction. Had to immediately scarf down food to avoid crashing. Will be immediately switching to a new sensor. Do NOT use these sensors. They only work 4-5 days when they are supposed to last 10, and can cause actual health emergencies from the wildly inaccurate readings. Cannot believe these are even on the market..Version: 1.11.0

Dark ModeThere needs to be a dark mode option, I already lost pancreas I do not want to lose my eyes as well. The available widget is helpful. Please add more widget size options. The Insulin Summary is a nice addition, but lacks support for Omnipod with the fast-acting insulin throughout the day..Version: 1.9.0

Useless app from overseasI used the G6 app during my travels, the G7 app cannot be setup from overseas, even if your residence is in the US. To start you are forced to allow access to location services ( setup screen locked until location access is granted), which in itself is an invasion of privacy. Then, contrary to the disclaimer, the location is used for comparison with the account address and the setup Is locked with an error indicating location different from residence as if one has to be locked in one’s residence. An invitation to contact technical support yields no result beside waste of communication fees from abroad ( delete and reload, create new account… ) and confusing explanations about geolocation allegedly not working in every country. It might be time for US developers to realize that the world extends beyond San Diego and Boston ! One thing is sure, on my return to the US, once my nine sensors are used up I will switch to another CGM ( FreeStyle Libre) or no CGM For US companies and software developers to be so dismissive of the rest of the world in 2024 is beyond belief! Contact suggested by Apple does not yield any result , the only suggestion by Dexcom support is to buy the receiver and basically not use / initialise the app while overseas. This is beyond belief in an allegedly global world!!! The western world view is anyone outside the west is a thief or a fraud and everything must be done to restrict or suppress his access! Pathetic!.Version: 1.11.0

HopelessWaiting for my sensor to arrive so downloaded the app. Couldn’t get past the sharing data screen. Tried to quit and login, now can’t even do that. A very expensive mistake 😤.Version: 1.6.0

Downloaded the app & trying to log inDownloaded the app and trying to log in. App not letting me sign into my Dexcom account. Pretty shoddy given the cost of the product..Version: 1.3.1

I like the app, but it’s has a lot of bugsThe widget is constantly not updating, notifications on Home Screen don’t work and g7 doesn’t work with the follow app in nz.Version: 1.3.1

It's lovely but...Great app but... Widget has stopped updating since last release Wish clarity would show 24 hours rather than 3 days.. Watch app needs to update more frequently but I'm guessing you can't do that....Version: 1.11.0

The CEO is a liarThe watch widget is not good. It’s hardly ever right and usually just shows “…”. The iOS widget needs a smaller option. And please add a dark mode for checking levels during the night. The white background blinds me. 2024 January 7: A week into 2024 and we still don’t have the direct connection to Apple Watch the CEO promised us by the end of 2023. Not only no direct connection, but still no good connection at all (see above). I’m sick of being yelled at if I go more than 20 feet from my phone when my watch is connected to me at all times. Hold up your promise and get it done. NOW..Version: 1.9.2

Apple Watch feedbackYou should list the Apple watch faces that your complications are available for on your website - not make me cycle through 20-odd faces on a tiny device to see which ones will work. Placing this review as a way of giving feedback without waiting in a queue for tech support (at $400 a month the fact that I have to wait is not great either)..Version: 1.11.0

Do not botherJust moved from G6 to G7 and after a week, I’m regretting that decision: * signal loss - as others have reported the g7 has a really weak signal. I can’t put my phone in my pocket on the other side of my body without losing signal. * accuracy - sometimes a g6 sensor would have a bit of fluctuation for a few days before settling into a smooth curve. Not the g7, 1 week in and I can’t trust it’s numbers. * app functionality - you used to be able to drag your thumb backwards and forwards on the graph in the g6 app to get an exact number at a given time. This is gone for g7 and that’s an insane decision. I’m supposed to know how quickly my glucose is dropping by eyeballing a tiny graph I suppose? Does anybody with diabetes even work there? * applicator - the g6 applicator was pretty ergonomic for applying to the back of your own arm. Why change it? I hope the few pence of plastic costs saved are worth it! Also, maybe those can be sent back to manufacturer for reuse instead of creating more waste? I know you’ll respond with “please phone blah, blah”. Don’t bother, I have your number. Credit where it’s due, Dexcom do seem to have hired a bunch of new people to handle incoming calls so at least the wait times are decreasing when you do call them. I’ll be in touch soon to move back to g6. Would suggest you guys go back to R+D with this one..Version: 1.5.1

Freezes and crashesThe main page works fine. Once I click on the Connections tab, the app is frozen. None of the tabs within the Connections tab are responsive, nor can I get any other tab to respond. I have to kill the app. I tried opening a support case from within the app for this, and the app totally crashed (disappeared, no error messages) right before I was ready to submit it..Version: 1.11.0

Cannot dismiss alerts from watchThis app is almost good. It’s missing two features that are standard in every other app in the AppStore. And with those features it would be 4 stars. 1. Most important. Be able to dismiss alerts from the Apple Watch. I get alert, dismiss the alert of the watch, but a minute later it alerts again. Making me have to open the app on my phone to dismiss the alert. If I’m in a meeting or somewhere important I can’t be pulling out my phone or having Loud critical alerts going off every couple of minutes for something I’ve taken care of. An even better feature would be to let me get a 1 minute quiet notification on my watch that I could clear before even setting off a critical alert. But as the way it is now, I’m going to have to turn off critical alert notifications, which is not a good thing. 2. This doesn’t seem like a big one, but it is. Dark mode. It exists on Dexcom Follow app, so I know there Devs know how to do it, and they should be using shared libraries, so why am I blinding my self at night to check my Blood Sugars? A device and technology so advanced it can tell me my blood sugar every 5 minutes just by looking at a screen, when just 20 years ago we were peeing on sticks, and not long before that peeing on the ground and watching for ants. But yet my retinas burn when I check my blood sugar. And my I get just as embarrassed as everyone stares at me thinking I didn’t mute my phone for the meeting. Please fix this..Version: 1.11.0

Widgets now gone?Seems after the update the widgets have been removed from the app?.Version: 1.4.0
