✓ Quite literally horrendousI can deal with ads on a free app, and I get why they’re there. But having to watch two 30+ second ads between each quiz, where you have to click two buttons (per ad) to close the ad is entirely too much, especially when the buttons are purposefully designed to fail and open the advertisement anyway. It takes 2-3 tries (4-6 clicks) minimum to successfully close each ad after the punishing 30 seconds you have to watch it for. And just when you’re about to give in and pay to remove them, you find out it’s $60/year 😭 girl. That is so bold it would actually be pretty funny if it weren’t so thoroughly heinous. Gotta admire the gall but I’ll be deleting this 💀.Version: 1.0.10
✓ Ads ruin the quizzesI will get an ad in the middle of a quiz, which like fine whatever. but it automatically counts you as finished on the quiz and scores it even when i’m not done yet.Version: 1.0.2
✓ Good overall but one problemWhen scrolling down through the list of quizzes, and I’m deep in the list, let’s say I click on a quiz, and then I decide to go back to the previous screen, it takes me back to the top of the list and I have to start my search again..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Annoying ads and freezingI got this app to practice for trivia night. The questions are fine, but I really hate all the ads that you have to wait to dismiss. ✓ Pros and Cons to old appThere are pros to the new app. Pros: It’s more like the website with graphics and pictures, lots more quizzes. There are some cons: the instructions for many quizzes are lacking, there’s no way to buy hints, the commercials will ruin your quiz progress so it’s best to buy the premium package, the times to complete difficult quizzes are very short, you don’t get badge credit unless you play with the timer so you’ll need to practice multiple times to get fast if it’s a long quiz..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Too many addsHere’s the list five minutes of my life: was excited to see Sporcle had an app, downloaded it, went to play a quiz, first question in the ads started hitting me. ✓ Ads ruin experienceI love that there is a sporcle app, and have used it a ton. I understand the need for ads on a free app, but the premium price is too steep for what is ultimately a phone game. With that said the current ad experience makes it really difficult to play, since you have to rewatch an ad after every attempt. Also I’ve been having ads run their full length and then become stuck so you can’t click out of them back into sporcle. Then I have to exit the app and try to find the same quiz again since there is no saved quizzes or most recent quizzes page. If we have to have ads they shouldn’t glitch out. The text input boxes often cover up much of the quiz/pictures and the zoom/cursor movements make it difficult to see the entire quiz..Version: 1.0.9

✓ Too RestrictedIn the older app, when you’d search for a keyword and navigate to the suggested sun-category, you could see ALL quizzes. This limit of 3 pages of quizzes to non-premium users is a huge turnoff. The premium “benefits” aren’t nearly enough to warrant paying for it. ✓ Great site. Subpar appIf I was just rating Sporcle I’d give it a 4.5. I love it and have played their trivia games for years. my only complaint is not being able to filter by types of quiz within categories, and there’s an over abundance of quiz types that I don’t like. Like “sort these movies into t the decade they were released” but that’s just a personal nitpick. My problem is with the app itself. It’s not at all optimized for mobile devices. Typing games are a pain. Games that take up a large amount of space aren’t sized to fit into the screen and often times you can’t scroll down and stay at a certain location. Sometimes you have to minimize your keyboard in order to see the bottom of a quiz then re-open your keyboard. It’s just not very easy when you’re trying to beat a time limit.Version: 1.0.9
✓ Stop asking me to rate the app and turn on notifications. I said no.Half the quizzes are unplayable on iPhone due to UI issues. It makes no sense to pay for this app at all, let alone $5.99/month..Version: 1.0.10
