✓ Rugby Nations 22Rugby Nations 22 is a fun rugby game for fans of the game. It helps you learn all the rules of the sport and you learn players names. You can also play on World Cup mode and on the Six Nations part of the game which is fun and you win packs if you win these game modes. You use these packs to improve your own team and to progress through the leagues. The downsides to the game are that quite a few of the international players aren’t on the game. You can only play 3 matches a day and you cannot play online. But overall it is a really fun game..Version: 1.1.3

✓ Ok gameThe game itself it a good game, good fun and you are made to work for a decent team, I found the higher you get, the more it seems to “cheat” Like you game press perfect swipe for a mail and you won’t win no matter what., and the wind will change direction on a conversation as soon as you swipe. Needs some work like this game has been developed and made by people who have seen a bit of rugby but never actually played it or watched it upfront. For example, why is it when the opposition has the ball in the midfield that my wingers are the ones lining them up? Or that the backs are in the mauls? Some recommendations: being able to train your whole team i.e training sessions and be able to create some plays and manoeuvres, have a better pin point on where the ball is gonna go when you kick it. ✓ Good gameThe game is good for rugby fans. The graphics are good considering it’s a mobile game and very enjoyable I have not had any auto adds like got her games. It has 3 fun modes , your own six nations and World Cup. The games are good timing - around 5 minutes . The only bad thing about this game is the energy you need to play games, it takes around 1 hour for a bottle ( with no adds) ,which is only one game . I’m pretty sure you can only fill it up 3 times, so if you sleep and wake up you can still only do 3 games. Randomly your players will have a red arrow that indicates their fitness is low and the only way I have seen to change it is using the fitness things. ✓ Very closeI love and hate this game. Gameplay is fun and well designed, nice simple stats, good player progression mechanic, climbing the leagues is fun and great to have women equally represented. On the flip side, the random events are utterly infuriating - passing directly behind instead of to the player next to you, or not passing at all to the player in space, your opponent passing at random and making constant forward progress, relative pack weights meaningless… I find myself rage quitting 75% of matches even though I’m winning. Also fear I’m hitting the wall with team progression - about halfway through the elite leagues and in desperate need of some gold upgrades but yet to receive a single one. The fact that I’m giving it 4 stars despite issues says a lot about the good stuff..Version: 1.1.2

✓ Recommend to allGreat addictive game. Really satisfying when trying to pull off certain moves like flinging it out wide with miss passes to your winger. Not littered with adds and makes you graft to improve the team/stadium (not in a tedious way) However here is how I’d improve the game. For attack I feel being able to create ‘set pieces’ so putting players in certain positions to allow you to be creative with your attack, be this an option on the Home Screen or from preset ones already made by the developers you can choose from, (maybe having a timer on these too to stop really powerful set pieces being abused. — Adding on the previous recommendation, the option to run when I put my 10 back for the drop goal. Feel I could of scored countless times by just running from a deeper position but my kicker is stuck still. Another feature is when I’m overtime having the opposition kick for touch even though they are on my 22 breaks the immersion. Few times they nearly score and they chose to kick out and end the game rather then going over, yes I understand they still wouldn’t win the game but cmon. Score the try. ✓ Great gameplay - Poor updateNot sure if it’s a developer update or the new iOS 16 update but it has made the game very frustrating as the players stand still when a pass is missed and 90% of the time this will lead to a try being conceded. The game has been fantastic and I have won the all- star league 21 times as I can’t stop playing it but the new ‘update’ has left me playing it once every couple of days as it’s unplayable at times. My only other suggestion is to make legendary players more common in packs or be able to buy them with coins or cash. Thanks.Version: 1.2.0
✓ I’m in Shock but …The game feel is really great with and the speed is great the teams you play against in the World Cup have the same playing style in real life which is why I’m in shock. The speed is really great but only downside is the field fills too crammed for how fast they are which leads to a little too much glitches but’s it’s overall really great so far all there is to fault is line out and scrums are really weird to get used. Have had it a couple of times that you can’t get out and you end up having to replay the match. Over all a Recent game. ✓ Can you fix please….Ok I’ve been playing this game for ages…and years if you include the previous version. This game is great fun… but you get to a stage where you get stuck. I need a whole load of upgrades to gold and legendary but the chances are slim to non existent. Even if you spend its nearly impossible can you please make some sort of chance to upgrade players Next training upgrades I’m so sick of trying the upgrades that end up on players reducing their level which is really annoying. Give the option to accept or decline please. Finally on the game….I really enjoy this game but a couple of things….how about some yellow cards and reds…there is dangerous tackles but if the same player is involved maybe Asian bin or an off would be fun. ✓ Fun but flawedThis is probably the best rugby game on the App Store (albeit with limited competition). It’s fun and engaging but there are a few things to be fixed or additions that could massively improve this game. There is no button to put the ball down for a try, meaning there are often times where you would normally dive for the line but instead your players just jog over and can be pushed back or into touch by the opposition - very frustrating. The positioning of the players is rarely realistic - the 10 or wings regularly playing scrum half at the breakdown, and forwards standing out in the back line for some reason, which affects any planned moves and removes structure from your game plan. The games are short and sharp which is fine but it would be great to add an option to extend them for a more immersive experience. Adding more structure to obtaining players would be great - like transfers for cash (which otherwise you don’t do much with). Crafting a strong team can be tough when it’s always luck of the draw. Adding gameplay elements like set backs moves would add much more realism - just passing through the hands can get a bit boring..Version: 1.1.4

✓ Love itPretty much as advertised. The only thing that gets on my nerves though is that the game purposely wants to end the game every time you have the ball and it hits 40 mins and at 80 mins. My players don’t knock it on all game but end up COINCIDENTALLY knocking it on at 80 mins every single time. Or they automatically have you kick the ball out to touch at half or full time. Or they overthrow the wing. It’s pretty dumb. It should go until the next dead ball. Edit: this game is absolutely ridiculous, there have been 5 games where my player randomly kicks the ball out of bounds when it reaches full time whether I’m losing, tied, winning. Why is this a thing???? ✓ Good but frustratingYes it’s the only rugby simulator on the App Store but it’s still worth playing. My only gripe is that if you want to play as a lower tier country in the World Cup, it’s impossible to do well against the tier 1 teams. For example when the ball enters a ruck, regardless of whether or not it’s in your favour, if you play as a lower tier country against a high tier country the ball will be sealed by the opposing team faster than anyone could physically tap. This means it’s physically impossible to win these matches and really affects people like me who want to gain World Cup players from nations like the USA, Canada and Uruguay. ✓ An improvement but still some issuesIts generally a fun game and there has been major improvements. I love the new lineout, maul, scrum dynamics etc they work much better and I know it shouldn't be something to shout about but the inclusion of the woman's game is great. It still maintains some of the same issues with player speed (theres no way my prop is bursting through the line rounding the springbok fullback and sprinting 30m to the line, it just wouldn't happen) and things like goal line defence but overall a good enjoyable rugby game..Version: 1.1.0
✓ Great gameGreat game, very addictive and not ruined by ads. A few issues I think would improve the game are: Fitness - this feature is rubbish. The hearts are so cheap to buy that i never run out and it’s just a waste of time going through the whole squad adding hearts to players, quite frustrating. Upgrades: love upgrades but I’ve stalled massively in the 80’s of my team because gold upgrade are almost impossible to find/get hold of. The purple upgrades are literally impossible and I have never seen on, but loads of my players are maxed out. More competitions: 6 nations and World Cup are great but autumn series etc as an option would be brilliant. Scenarios: the older games had scenarios to complete, I really miss these. ✓ Nope, just as bad as the league iterationI previously reviewed this company’s league rugby game as it seems broken. in that review i said the union version was better. i’m afraid i was mistaken. i initially thought that the frequent passes in the wrong direction was just a case of sausage fingers on my part. after spending a few gaming sessions actively trying to look at my fingers whilst pressing buttons i can safely say my initial assessment was incorrect; the button frequently get “confused”, for lack of a better word, and actually pass in the wrong direction or kick the ball! i don’t think i need to explain that a capricious control setup is exactly what a video game doesn’t need. a key press is a command, not a bloody suggestion. anytime a video game decides whether and when to respond to a key press is the perfect time to delete it.Version: 1.1.4

One major improvement I think this game needs is the kicking aspect of the game. The AI never kicks the ball, which slows down the game and is completely unrelated to how the best teams in rugby like to play. If more logical kicking is implemented into the game, then it will become more dynamic and, thus, more entertaining. It may even help with the problem that my games keep ending in two-try shutouts in my favor, which is honestly kind of boring. I also believe that the AI underperforms very heavily in club and even World Cup games, so balancing these factors would be good as well. Hopefully, this criticism will allow the developers to strive to make this game a better experience for its player base..Version: 1.3.0

✓ Not too shabbySo far it’s a pretty decent rugby game. I’ve only been playing for around 30 minutes but I don’t hate it. There are a few things that could be done to improve it for sure (including switches, loops, penalty/line out plays) but those may be things that get unlocked later on. However it can, at times become extremely frustrating. One of the most frustrating things is as soon as it reaches half time or full time, my players suddenly develop extremely greasy hands and can not hold onto anything. My players will suddenly and without prompt pass and kick the ball ahead sometimes kicking the ball out as I am about to score a try. ✓ A genuinely great rugby game!Amazing game, have loved playing it. Here is how I’d improve: 1. Stop opponent kicking ball out at 40/80minutes. It’s really irritating and feels broken. 2. I feel I have almost mastered the game, but there have been countless times where if the AI hadn’t passed, they would have scored. This would make games a bit tougher. 3. When you’re over the try line, there should be a gesture to put the ball down. It’s annoying that there’s no control and you end up sometimes being dragged back over the line. 4. The wind on kicking can be really annoying when it jumps from 3mph-15mph in the length of time it takes to swipe your finger. I like the randomness of the wind, but it should be set before you kick or only loosely fluctuate. 5. It would be great if you could ‘offload’ in the same way you ‘intercept’ by swiping on the screen..Version: 1.1.4

Upgrading team is not bad just make sure you take advantage of every opportunity to get items from watching advertisements, otherwise pay money. Best rugby video game I have seen ever. ✓ Good for a mobile gameIt’s a fun game, but I wish you could just pick your position and play as the same person for the entire game. It’s so confusing to switch people. ✓ Great game, but horrible to play in some aspectsI played a lot of rugby nations 19 and loved it, and I think 22 has improved lots of aspects like the line outs and kicking. But the passing, rucks and tackling is appalling if the opponent is slightly higher in overall than you. You miss every tackle, you lose every ruck and the passing almost always seems to be dropped even if it’s incredibly simply. I just can’t win against the bots in leagues due to this..Version: 1.1.4

✓ Needs some adjustments but goodOverall a fun game. A couple things I wish would change. I agree with some of the other ideas that other reviews mentioned here such as a more effective stepping function, bringing in set plays, and facilitating winning the World Cup with lower tier teams (although I do enjoy the challenge in the league matches). I myself would like more realism with the teams. For example if you’re playing with NZ you expect Barrett or mo’unga to be the highest rated fly halfs but actually Reece has a higher rating (and mo’unga is considered a scrum half which is just wrong). Same goes for farrel-youngs have lower ratings than Mitchell-furbank for England. It feels the ratings are just somewhat randomised. Lastly, I like that I complete world cups or 6n to get players for my team but I wish I could choose which player (or at least choose whether I get a forward or a back), otherwise I have to do the tournament like 15 times until I get lucky and get the player I want. P.S: add faf de klerk to the game, I don’t get why he’s not there..Version: 1.1.2
✓ Bug fixes and online updates?I honestly love this game don’t get me wrong but there are a few bug fixes eg:one thing that unsatisfies me the most is scoring. Here say you get tackled on the try line and you try and score but you get into a placement position I have no idea why but that annoys me there are so much more that I could say but we’ll be here for a while There are a few updates I would love to see here are some:TMO’s and red/yellow cards would be so cool! And multiplayer/1v1s would be even cooler. Now there are a few of my favourite all blacks missing like Sam canes been around for ages why are you missing so much players and that’s only one there are many more I’m sure there are many things I missed but I’ll leave that to the other reviews for the developers seeing this please at least add one of the updates/fixes I have suggested although great game and I hope it keeps running in the future.Version: 1.3.0
✓ Excellent Rugby Union gameThis game just keeps getting better. Overall it’s a fantastic game, it could be better with a more immersive career mode and adding the Super Rugby Pacific league and the Rugby Championship. ✓ Very PleasedThe game is incredible, and I love the tackle shudder. The player update and the strength and new special abilities are awesome. The only things that I don’t like are the glitches and how some international players aren’t in their usual positions, E.G Richie Mounga, who was put at scrum half instead of fly half. Glitches occur from time to time and I think the graphics could be a bit better. But other than that, great game. I Definetly recommend it!.Version: 1.1.2

✓ Good appThis is a really good app but there are a few issues. First, the app drains your battery really quickly. I played for about 20 minutes and used 30% battery. Also, player speed and the player mover controller could do with being improved. There’s no way a prop is faster than the fullback and wingers get the app depicts this. ✓ Match TimeI know it’s a game but can we please make the half’s longer than like 2 mins each , every time the scrum half makes a kick form the ruck it’s up in the air for about 2-3 mins game time , and this makes the score line low , and teams often get 0 points as they have no time to attack. It does get buggy to the level of being unplayable at the higher levels though - at Elite league level all players are incredibly slow (even a 99 rated fly-half) making scoring tries a joyless dirge of tactical kicking and forward drives. ✓ Ad glitchEnjoying the game, but please somehow fix the bug that sometimes plays an ad that has no ‘x’ button and gives the player no way to return to the game without closing the app and losing the progress of that entire game. It is extremely frustrating playing a whole match and then having to play it again all because an annoying ad glitched out. At least have the game register that the match has been completed before playing an ad so progress doesn’t have to be lost. Hope this can get fixed.Version: 1.3.0
