✓ Not Perfect But Still Quite FunI love being able to play Spades quickly whenever, where ever. I also dig the sound of the cards being dealt. The sound it makes after a successful hand is the worst, though. It sounds like someone is playing a synth piano by throwing their head on the keyboard or maybe like throwing a xylophone across a room. I’m sure the developers can do better considering how lovely the rest of the sounds are. Please, please considering updating that too loud, terrible sound. As others have said, the AI partner plays strangely sometimes and covers opps bids, but it’s hardly the end of the world. I still love this game, and play it most days. If I had a wish list, I’d ask to be able to play live against real players (with a bot that could take over if one of the humans bails.) It would also be cool to be able to play local games via local Wi-Fi or even Bluetooth. Am I getting greedy?.Version: 1.1.3

✓ Pretty good with a few issuesI love card games and the programming on this one is really good. Challenging strategies at different levels with realistic variety. My biggest complaint is that I want to choose the green goat to be my partner in relaxed play. I named him sproat, a combination of sprout & goat, and he’s my favorite. Also the score adding animation gets old fast. I just want it to finish so I can see the totals. And last but not least the graphics really look like they’re from 20 years ago. Exactly like the spider solitaire that came with windows back in the day. There’s some customization which is nice but all of the options are pretty much the same thing. For an apple arcade game I was a surprised it wasn’t more visually pleasing..Version: 1.1.3

✓ Computer Partner Would Never Be Invited to Play AgainI really enjoy the game, but wish the Relaxed Game computer partner had some playing etiquette. If the computer player were a human, it would never be invited to play again. It regularly steals tricks from its partner by playing higher cards or cutting spades. Worse, it does so in third place where a computer opponent in second place that called Nil has the high card..Version: 1.1.3
✓ Better gameplay than the free version butNo ads = better gameplay. I’ve written this before and it’s not appeared here…? Is it worth £5 a month? LL No. The double tap on your card selection feature in Gin Rummy would be welcome addition across all your games especially in “hard mode” with no undo feature. ✓ Partner strategy needs helpI love being able to play spades all the time and quickly. The biggest issue is that the partner does not pay as a human would. Instead of trying to set the other team (make them not catch their bid) it will play a lower card. It does then same thing when you are going NIL. It should always play a higher card than you do it if it has one available but I have seen it go lower which makes you lose the hand. This game would be perfect if the strategy for the partner hand were fixed..Version: 1.1.3
✓ Was great until…This was a great game and still is I guess, but once you reach the top tier, the game knocks your score down overnight. The challenges are all gone and if you leave it for a day, you find where you were in first position you have gone down to 4th or 5th. On my last occasion, I worked my way back to second and when I went to do a new game, it had taken 20 points off of me (for winning). What’s the point when the game stops you from getting back up to the top? I won’t be playing anymore unless it gets fixed..Version: 1.1.3

✓ Spades is one of my favoritesI’ve been playing this game since I was 8 and I’m in my early 30’s now, I’ve never seen it on an iPhone so that is already excellent plus it is a good app that runs extremely smoothly with great graphics as well as features. ✓ Diamond I Hits a WallThe fame does well to simulate actual opponents. It does well to teach new and intermediate players alike the various strategies available to win. To that last point, however, once you reach Diamond I, it becomes evident that the AI falls short. It does not understand how to feed bags and will active sabotage attempts to feed because it prioritizes taking books even if it means taking bags. One of the only strategies you have in spades when you are down is to set the opposing team (they fall short of their bid and lose that much in points) or to bag them (force ten bags for -100 points). By the time I got to Diamond I, it felt like the only way to climb the ladder was one point at a time with very few wins because the AI doesn't have the same intuition for this game that a person does. All that said, its a fun game that i hooe includes real players sometime soon. Great fun!.Version: 1.1.3

✓ Fun game but….Still worth 5 stars, spend way too much time playing this game. The only annoying thing about it is what you can expect from a partner you are teamed up with who is not human. They aren’t designed to use common sense and games are lost because they play the wrong card when an opponent bets NIL. Your partner tends to play their highest card instead of getting the opponent to lose his 100 point lead. The next thing you know, I’m yelling at a phone. LOL But, despite that, I really enjoy the game!!.Version: 1.1.3
✓ Nicely done, AI could use a little helpLike the other Mobilityware games, their Spades is a lot of fun with beautiful graphics and very smooth gameplay. The game provides lots of incentives to keep you playing. Unfortunately, the game play AI could be better. The computer players often trump their partner’s winning leads, and if an opponent bids NIL, your computer partner seems blissfully ignorant of the need to lose a trick once you’ve met your team bid. I’m hoping that game player gets tougher as you progress through the levels, but that is not evident so far..Version: 1.1.3

✓ Online?Please add an online mode. I really want to play with other people. The computer is not smart and breaks spades all the time when it’s unnecessary. Takes tricks that I’ve already won because for some reason.. a computer can’t remember what’s been played. This game is definitely made for people a computer can never do what human can with this game..Version: 1.1.3
✓ Good, but needs workOther people have commented that the AI needs work, and it does. I have seen my AI partner make mistakes that even my young grandaughters wouldn’t! The team needs both of the last two tricks to make our bid, and my partner plays last on the penultimate trick. My partner could easily take that trick with a low spade holding, but instead goes up with the king, and then loses the final trick with a low spade. That’s just unacceptable. Also, the game score needs to be displayed during play, not just the bids. Hand strategy can and should be influenced by the score. If I can keep the game going that I would otherwise lose by allowing myself to be set in order for the opponents to collect the sandbag penalty, I will. But that’s only a possibilty if I can see what the scores are (or remember), and I can’t. Please make this simple fix!.Version: 1.1.3
✓ Very good game, but…… my automated partner in the game is great at most things but lacks the ability to recognise the time to sacrifice a hand to stop our opponents succeeding in a nil bid. This is frustrating. Still a good game though!.Version: 1.1.3
✓ Great game BUTI love this game. I have spent hours playing it. The only issue I have isn’t the level of competition, it’s the intelligence of your “partner”. They can’t count their tricks and they have no idea what card to throw when and it’s cost me many a victory that we should have had. I wish this could be fixed but it is a computer after all. ✓ It’s Spades, and that’s goodAllows you to play a four-player team game on your own. The visuals are functional and smooth. Gameplay is no substitute for playing with friends, but it’s still a fun mobile version. The best part of course is that you don’t have to keep score. That really smooths out the nitty gritty stuff that slows down the game. The only thing I wish it did was track the sandbags for you from hand to hand, rather than just telling you when you’ve reached ten. Solid game..Version: 1.1.3
✓ Nice but AI is denseAI partner is dumb. I feel like the more you progress in your ranking the more likely your AI partner will make mistakes. 1. Underbidding - during normal game play the AI partner routinely underbids and leaves points on the table. It is safe to typically overbid by one or two to compensate. 2. Overbidding - at the end I feel the game the AI partner has no concept of end of game strategy and will create unnecessary situations. If you are 20 points from winning the AI should not go ‘nil’ and should not bid higher than 2 tricks. Too often. In this situation it will bid something stupid like ‘5’ and then miss. 3. Nil - at times it seems completely unaware that you are playing ‘nil’ when it has control. It will start playing a suit with a low-mid level card forcing you to win a trick..Version: 1.1.3
