MARVEL SNAP for Negative User Reviews

Bait and switchMarvel snap is fun! But don’t buy the battle pass- almost every month they will release a card with the battle pass that you will need to have or else you will lose games because they release it over powered and then next month they nerf it and release another over powered card..Version: 22.28.0

Fun game with needlessly confusing and predatory monetisationAt its core Snap is a fun, creative and engaging card battler. The long life span and road map is a testament to dev support and creativity they churn out too. However, behind that is a confusing and unrewarding unlock system. It’s more rng-based than before and over time more agency has been taken away from players in favour of chance. There’s too many currencies to use in game which have all recently been diluted leaving the casual / F2P player in a bit of a tight spot with their credits and gold. It’s a system catered to Whales and ensures player’s experience the most fomo. It’s sad because this could be a good game with cosmetics as their main revenue, but they’ve over monetised it and are at risk of killing the existing player base..Version: 17.17.0

New tutorial is too muchI just decided to pick back up the app after a few months break, and I guess I chose the wrong account to log back into and got pushed into the new tutorial. It was so slow and I couldn’t believe how long it went. There was no skip button, so I deleted the app when it started a second ‘game’. Even if I was a first timer, there’s no way I would stick around for that long..Version: 17.17.0

Decently fun mobile game but pure RNGWhat I like about this game is that it’s short and compact matches are the right length for a mobile game. The problem with this game though is the absolute insane level of luck and RNG built into this game which I believe is why the “Snap” system was implemented. It’s just Rock Paper Scissors on steroids. Any perceived skill doesn’t exist once you get to higher levels. The first 5 of the 6 turns turns don’t really matter, it always comes down to a final turn coin toss where either of us could win, it just depend on where we put things down in relation to each other, it’s like a game of Rock Paper Scissors. The locations, while adding an interesting element, are also totally luck based. Sometimes they help, other times they completely negate your decks strategy. The snap mechanic in my view is like black jack. You can never actually make the games odds favor you, but by ratcheting the betting as the cards do you see update the odds, over the long term you’ll end up making a profit. Same thing here. Do not expect to win much more than 50% of your matches, it just comes down to how lucky you get with your snaps. So in other words, it’s more liken to a game of chance like poker or blackjack where the skill lies in playing odds, versus any actual skill/strategy..Version: 9.16.0

I cant login after update...Version: 10.13.3

Stay away. Total cashgrab. As the title says the game is just a blatant cashgrab and you should stay away from it. It's fun for the first couple of weeks until you get thrown into the big sharktank of players who mostly have better cards than you and you just play the catch-up game to get better cards while new cards being released. And let me say you mostly need a whole month of farming non stop to even get one new card to play with. Along with it the game is full of stupid FOMO stuff. Want a certain skin for your cards better get it now since you won't see it for month in the rotating shop. Oh you like a certain deck or cards. Well we nerfed the cards without any compensation. This game had potential but transformed into the most predatory free to play game out there and even the devs won't react to any complains on their official discord server. Do yourself a favor and never install that game..Version: 15.15.2

Game is riggedGame is faulty and needs to be fixed because the match ups are predicated on the deck you play. As such the deck you play becomes essentially worthless but because you play against decks that beat you, it convinces you that if you had those cards to make that deck then you could win too. So you get those cards to make that deck only to be beaten by stacked cards again. And so the cycle continues. Then at the end of the season of 30 days or whatever it is you get the awesome opportunity of getting sent back 30 levels so you can do it all over again the next month. This could have been a great game but it is broken and am done spending money on it..Version: 12.12.2

Game is sooo randomYou can never have fair matches (i played against unbeatable cards) but also sometimes cards don’t do their on reveal ability or i get some players playing 11 points in the 5th round… makes no sense to me! You either win a bunch of time in row or lose non-stop for hours at a time. The ‘random card’ effects always advantages your opponent and not you. Very often it gives them the card required to defeat you or mess up whatever plan you had. Building decks is pretty useless if the locations stop you from playing (eg: cards cant be played here, 1,2,3 cards cant be played and after turn x card cant be played here.) The game also advantages people that have been playing longer. Getting some of the cards is straight up impossible. Could have been very fun.. but its not..Version: 13.13.2

Game is ok, but has major game balance issuesThe “Snap” mechanic to bluff your opponent into gambling away more of their points is inherently a bad idea when paired with a retreat mechanism, as this incentivizes players to not play out the game but rather quit early to decrease their losses because this game’s only game mode is ranked. This makes the ranked gameplay a slow grind of winning and losing 1 to 2 points and not being able to play games to fruition because it’s just a bad idea most of the time for you or your opponent to not retreat when the odds aren’t in your favor. On top of this, the entire game is random; you cannot obtain cards that would help you create the deck you want unless you pull them completely at random after several hours of grinding, you cannot determine if your deck will be hard countered by the random location effects that appear, and you can’t even determine if your card will be revealed before your opponents’ cards (I.e. spider woman’s effect activates on revealing a card and decreasing your opponent’s cards at that location by 1, but if your opponent played a card but won the coin toss of being revealed after your cards, the freshly played cards will not be affected by this debuff whereas if the coin flip were the other way around and the opponent’s cards were revealed first, those same cards would be affected by spider woman’s effects). The game has room for A LOT of improvement but is fun overall..Version: 8.7.1

The game is funBUT match making is absolutely horrendous. I’m going against people who have WAY more cards available to them than I do. They are clearly 10 plus levels above me. There is no competing with them. It doesn’t matter if I get literally every card in order from lowest to highest or where they’re placed. I can’t beat cards that can merge with one another or place several cards across the board. I don’t have them. At best I can try to destroy the 1 cost cards IF I can get the one card I have that does that. I have a few issues with the descriptions of some of the tiles. For example let’s say it says “if a card is played here it will be exchanged for one in your deck.” Before or after its flipped and before or after the ability/power? It’s after the flip before the ability btw, but there is literally no way to know that unless you had that tile before. You also get “you cannot play cards on turns 3 through 5 and 4 through 6” with way to often and way to often at the same time. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSE TO DO FOR THAT TIME? I literally had a game where after turn 3 me and the other guy just got to stare at each other till turn 5. That shouldn’t be something that can happen. I’ve only played for about an hour and already hit a paywall, but since it seems like it’s mostly just cosmetic I don’t see an issue with it. I do have issue with upgrading cards being the main way to unlock card. You run outta in game money good luck to you on unlocking anything for a bit..Version: 13.13.3

Game doesn’t open after recent updateAfter downloading the update , the game doesn’t load beyond the first image….Version: 6.9.1

No longer rewarding after recent updateThis game was awesome to play up until the latest season. The caches are filled with excess garbage that no one wants, like titles. Why am I getting multiple titles from these caches instead of cards? Why are the conquest prices inflated? Why has this game become such a grind for so little reward. Will not be getting a season pass until changes are made..Version: 17.17.0

Poor supportGame crashes and lose your silver and gold tickets, therefore very poor review.Version: 22.29.0

Terrible gameJust a bad game. Interface is bad, very glitchy and does not work well at all. Waste of time wouldn’t recommend downloading..Version: 13.13.3

Greedy devsPay to win, bots, runs poorly on iPhone, expensive bundles, too many cards and locations, no guidance, crappy game. Not only that but to rank up you need to be very careful about losing cubes to the point where you might as well escape any game where you have a remote chance of losing, which is a huge waste of time. Delete this dumb game off your phone. Turns out the devs of this game used to work at Blizzard lol, makes sense why they’re greedy af..Version: 20.23.0

Oh look another marvel cash inOh wait it’s actually fun? New twist on card games? Cards look cool and have tons of variants? Pleasantly surprised Edit: lowered my review. They keep adding more and more cards/locations that literally play the game for you. That’s not fun. Hopefully they don’t ruin this fun game.Version: 13.13.3

I don’t feel like you EVER play an actual person…Or every single person I’ve ever played is a tactical strategic genius that can see the future. I make mistakes ALL THE TIME. I have NEVER seen my opponent make a mistake. I have never said, “dang, you shouldn’t have played that there”, or “wow, that was a bad move.” Why? Because it’s literally never happened. Every move against me seems to be the greatest perceptive event in game history. For instance, playing a guardians of the galaxy card and your opponent always seems to know not to play a card at that location. Or they have the perfect “answer-card” for whatever I just did to the point of seeming impossible. “How’d you know i’d play that there?” You didn’t because you’re a robot. “That card doesn’t seem to go with any of the other cards in your deck.” Don’t worry about it dummy. I can play any card at any time. I get beat badly a lot. I very rarely win decisively or on a last card (which happens to me constantly). But as much as I hate how this game works, I can’t stop playing. For the devs, would it hurt to be able to buy new cards with gold? I get you’re trying to make money but amassing a lot of gold takes a lot of time. Throw us a bone once in a while..Version: 16.14.1

Bad FOMOYet another game I can’t buy previous season passes on.Version: 13.13.3

Unmotivated to playI’m at 3600 collection power and I’ve been buying every season pass and they used to be great, you got a cool new card which people weren’t used to and they we’re usually pretty strong, which meant you had the advantage over the FTP players, and rightly so as without the money there is no game. But now not only are we getting mediocre cards but all the cards we previously spent money on are being nerfed the hell out of. So what’s the point in me spending my hard earned money if I get no advantage??? It should be really hard to climb the ladder for FTP players but us that spend it should be easier. I obviously enjoy the game but when I sit there losing all the time it becomes not fun and just frustrating. I’ve never come close to hitting infinite, and have to grind every month for 30 levels even though I’m spending close to £50 a month! I’m about done with the game. Someone told me it’s the bots that you face at a certain level, they have all the counters to your best decks but that’s not good enough, unless the matchmaking is sorted in some way I can’t see myself committing anymore time to it, which is a shame because I like most other parts about it..Version: 12.12.2

Lots of potential but it keeps getting worseIt’s hard not to be disappointed in the direction Marvel Snap has gone. The core of the game itself has a ton of potential to be a fun, fast-paced TCG. However, the card acquisition and monetization systems in this game were bad to begin with and have only gotten worse over recent months. The game has become incredibly stale and frustrating after you complete Series 3 due to how long it takes to unlock new cards and that you need to get lucky to get the ones that you want. The monetization in the game is also extremely predatory and geared primarily towards whales, so if you can’t afford to drop $100 a month+, you’re going to rarely see new cards. If they eventually decide to make it easier to get new cards without breaking the bank, then I’d recommend it, but after you finish Series 3, you’ll rarely earn a new card and there’s almost no incentive to play the game anymore. It’s truly sad how much the recent decisions on card acquisition has killed not only mine, but many others’ passion and excitement for the game. The old system wasn’t great, but you’d at least earn a card that you could often choose from more often..Version: 17.18.0

Great Gameplay. Progression Needs WorkGameplay is awesome. Really easy to understand and you’ll never run out of combinations to play. Assuming you unlock cards. The base set of cards are available to you quite quickly, however once you unlock those the collection of cards grinds to a screeching halt. You can definitely spend money to make this process quicker, and you might even be inclined to do so at some point (because again THE GAMEPLAY IS ADDICTIVE AND REALLY GOOD), until you look at the prices to do so. The game don’t sell a way to unlock cards directly. Instead, it sells bundles which include cosmetics (probably for a card from the basic or lower tier set but most likely a card you unlock early) and some “collection” tokens. For example, the shop currently has a bundle for $80 AUD, that comes with a variant (cosmetic) of a card available to all new players (so not adding a new way to play) and 1/6 of the tokens required to purchase one of the highest tier cards. 1/6th For $80, that is absurd. The season pass system nets you 2-3 new cards for $15. In a game with 100s of cards it doesn’t feel impactful. If you enjoy the game, you’ll eventually get to a point where you’re using the same deck over and over so you can compete with the “meta” and that just makes the game feel very stagnant. I want to spend money on this game and support its development, I really do, but the prices they’re asking are silly..Version: 17.17.0

Luck basedAs long as you lucky u can play if not dont even try.Version: 22.29.0

Review: Rise of the Phoenix SeasonFantastic gameplay brought low by increasingly poor design choices for the game’s progression, economy, and monetization systems (grouped under “investment design”), as well as terrible community management and third-party customer service. I love playing this game, but I hate being invested in this game..Version: 17.17.0

Disappointing updatesUsed to be fun, but the game is now pay-to-enjoy. They should really rethink their card acquisition system..Version: 17.17.0

Degenerate customer serviceGreat game but I have never encountered a useless gaggle of morons quite like the customer support team behind this..Version: 8.7.1

Amazing game hidden inside a dice rolling simulatorI have been playing this game for the last few weeks and so far find it to be quite enjoyable. The core idea of the game is fantastic, the 6 turn game limit is wonderful, the cards are interesting and enjoyable. Overall this is a great deck building game. BUT, and this is a big one For some unknown reason the people who made this game have decided that instead of focusing on all the things that make this an amazing deck building game, they will emphasize RNG (random number generation) as THE key gameplay mechanic. What they have done is taken what could be the best mobile game maybe ever and hidden it inside a dice rolling simulator. Every other location in this game somehow subverts players decks and strategies. The location “Ego” is the single worst this I have ever seen in a video game in my life. Forcing me to play with my opponents deck is tiresome and frustrating. Replacing my meticulously crafted deck with random cards is frustrating and undermines the entire game. Having a combination of locations that result in cards only being able to be played at 1/3 is idiotic at best. My recent experience of this game boils down to this: roll some dice, is your number higher than your opponents? Then congratulations you win!! I can’t possibly approach this game as any kind of legitimate or serious competitive game because skill is secondary to chance. If that’s your thing then go nuts. If you’re looking for a game that can be enjoyed on a competitive and strategic level then look elsewhere. Hopefully they realize this game is being handicapped by RNG and take steps to correct it. Otherwise this will be a flash in the pan and the player base will be gone within a year..Version: 9.16.0

Bad support teamI got a new phone and I contacted the support team to get my account that was on my old phone with the name of the account and the support keep replying me with the same answer and not listening to what I say, very bad support team.Version: 9.16.0

Great game but things can be addedUpgrading a card should have an effect on the cards gameplay or at least make the power level higher . There should be other ways to earning cards and different game modes . There should be ways to upgrading a cards stats . Fun game but could be way better , pretty one dimensional at the moment ..Version: 4.6.2

Incredibly broken messThere's about 2 or 3 cards that matter and if you don't have them you're absolutely screwed. Good luck unlocking them too. And thanks for removing my previous review, really cool of you. Nerf Wong too, or hire some people who can balance things properly.Version: 9.16.0

So much going or it but then fails on the seasons and upgradesI bought a season of Black Panther on day 1 and played a lot to get as much out of it as possible. In the end I felt all the other seasonal games give you a ton more for the money. I got a new card back, and a few cards, not worth it especially considering I bought the boost and played a lot hoping to unlock a lot. I would say this is like buying a season pass to Diablo Immortal which I also felt was a huge letdown. The two season passes I recommend is Hearthstone Battlegrounds and Clash of Clans. You get so much value for the money with these two games. For now I will play Marvel Snap and not spend any money on it which is sad because the game is good and the developers deserve money but the season passes are greedy for the little you get for it. The other gripe is upgrading cards, I would like to turn this option off completely as all the animations that come up when you upgrade, or to let you know you upgraded, and for what, the card isn’t anymore powerful, you just get a nicer looking card but the time it takes to go through and upgrade cards with the only benefit of it being that the card looks nice, I would rather have the time back. Life is short don’t make us waste time on upgrades and streamline the game so you auto update our cards, and let us play the game..Version: 9.16.0

Spotlight Cache UpdateAn excellent game currently being ruined by progression changes that impact loyal, long-standing players the most. it was a beautiful thing they had going here, but the July 2023 update is a hostile pay-to-lose nightmare. I will amend and adjust this review if major changes (or reversions) are made, but not before then..Version: 17.17.0

Pretty good game, but I was really disappointedThe game is quite fun and enjoyable, every character and location are unique and the method for unlocking cards is super fun and never gets to a tedious grind. The gameplay itself is both super simple to understand and strategy filled! I don’t mind too much that most character variants will cost money if you want, but my biggest gripe is that some of the characters (Like the new miles morales) cost money, via the season pass. Correct me if I’m wrong but he is not able to be obtained by free-to-play players, which really bugs me, especially when the add that made me get this game said “the only thing that costs money are aesthetics.” Also when you run out of daily challenges you don’t have much of a way to get XP, which in turn doesn’t give you an easy way to get card upgrades, which doesn’t allow much progression. That’s more minor, but this would be a nearly perfect game if you could just get all this game had to offer for free. Again aesthetics are fine to cost money, but taking away things like characters for some cash really turns me away, chances are I still will enjoy this game, but things like that have really turned me away from other games, please don’t let the same thing happen to marvel snap..Version: 8.7.1

TrashAll the shills and clowns banging on about this game being amazing are either dumb or being paid. For starters the game is full of cheaters devs don’t care they just make it almost impossible to report and do anything about them, the customer service is one of the worst I have ever come across they also themselves put robot players in to cheat against when you win too many games plus the moronic locations they add. Also just happens to be one of the most expensive season pass games out there, that they also just happen to have put up in price this very week by $2. Add in the cards themselves, the silly packs they put in and the gold currency are some of the most expensive I have ever seen, just don’t waste your time and money on this game may seem fun at first but I can assure you it’s just one big money making con and a total mess another example of rubbish devs using a marvel license to rob people..Version: 21.23.2

Good at firstHad a great time playing, took some time off now my account is gone. Won’t be playing it anymore because everything I had is now gone..Version: 22.29.0

Awful new player experienceAwful game for new players joining now, hundreds of overpriced cards to buy, and getting to a decent sized collection when you can actually have fun takes several months. Even then, cards regularly get changed to shake up meta and coerce people into buying more cards - even if players already spent 200usd or more… awful monetisation model. This game seems designed only for those that played it since release, where deals were better, and you already have several playable deck types. I think the designers don’t understand how to monetise the game in a way that it grows the player base instead of shrinking it down to only a core group of payers keeping them in profit. Shame, it could have been fun!.Version: 23.27.5

Oh Snap you should pass on thisIf you are not willing to spend money, skip this game. If you don’t want to face meta and be fodder for their rank ups the instant you hit tier 3 cards , skip this game. If you don’t want RNG to be responsible for 75% of match outcomes, skip this game. If you want to get useless titles and avatars instead of actual cards to play the game, play this game. If you want to deal with a terrible support team, play this game. If you do spend money on the game and like having the cards you bought be nerfed a week after you bought it, play this game..Version: 17.17.0

Amazing potential, greedy developersIf you’re looking to start playing the game at this point I wouldn’t even bother, after the recent economical and cache changes it’s clear that you will have to spend an excessive amount of money if you want to keep up with the meta and the card collection. There are plenty of ways in which they could (and do) monetise the game without infringing on the ability to collect key or core cards, instead they have gated them behind arbitrary “series” levels with varying costs (the best cards costing the most of course), the recent economy changes meaning you either need to hit a 25% chance every single week or pick and choose exactly which cards to collect, often locking yourself out of decks in the process. By the time you get those cards, they will have been nerfed to “keep the meta fresh” (after the whales enjoy weeks of beating you down with 65%+ win rates) and they will have released some new overpowered cards to smack you down with. The second star in the rating is purely for being able to enjoy a relatively F2P experience from release until recently, but I can only see the game going downhill from here as it enters its clear money milking and whale targeting phase, like every other game with potential in the depressing gacha/“F2P”/battle pass era we live in..Version: 17.18.0

Fun, lots of depth but a bit random. The game itself is great. A few bugs as expected at launch. But gameplay is good, concept is great.y issue is sometimes the locations just beat you. No chance to win just pure random luck. A game like this should never be unwinnable but honestly about 1/10 games is..Version: 3.1.0

Pay to WinNot only is this game pay to win, it’s pay to win for a short while and then they’ll nerf the cards when they squeeze enough money out of them. The company is showing their true colours with the latest patch, greed is their end goal, not balance. Sucks because the gameplay is so fun, but the company is way too greedy and it’s getting in the way..Version: 21.23.2

Poor Customer SupportThis is the first time I’ve felt the need to review anything, which should show how awful the support for this game is. The game itself is fun, but if you have any problems, good luck. I’ve been dealing with support for over a week now with no results. I paid for the premium season pass for last month, but never received my items for it. I didn’t get any help after using both the in-app support and email until after the season was over, thus leaving me $10 down with no items to show for it. I was told by two people that I could receive compensation by getting this month’s season pass for free. I said that would be great and then they ghosted me for days. When I reached out again to ask how long it would take to receive my items, I was told they don’t give out refunds at the moment (which was never even talked about prior because they had mentioned in-game compensation). I’ve talked to a different person every time, and they keep closing the conversation, making me start a new one every time. I’ve never had to deal with such awful customer support, and it’s not only ruining the game for me, but it’s also ruining the Marvel brand. Hopefully someone will step up and create a better support team, instead of obviously outsourcing to a different company..Version: 8.7.1

So fun, but a serious flawThis game is amazing - up to collector level 500. As soon as you hit that level your opponents start to have SO many more advanced cards then you that it’s just no longer a fair fight at that point. The developers really open the pool of opponents you get once you hit that level, but at that point your opponents clearly have so many more hours in the game than you do based on their cards and their titles that I find myself consistently having a tough time every match now as a Plat player. I don’t know what the solution is, but perhaps if you were matched with others that align closely with your collector level it would make the game fairer..Version: 9.16.0

Was a great gameWas a great game, spent a lot of time playing and even bought the last two seasons passes, silver surfer and zabu were the cards you received, great! Then after they have your money they nerf the cards! I’d like my money back!.Version: 11.18.1

Destroyed by crappy designThis company couldn’t balance a card even if their dog’s life depended on it. Busted meta as always. Maybe we can pretend we give a crap about properly designing cards fairly before taking this game out of beta.Version: 20.22.1

Really good but redundant very quicklyI really enjoy playing the game to begin with but the effort that goes into winning and achieving missions is soon diminished by the fact that your hard work is no mot rewarding unless you pay £8.99 for a premium subscription which I truly believe to be extortion. I could see my self paying £4.99 but £9 is a bit much for an extra few cards that still require your time and effort. For that reason, it took the enjoyment out of it for me. Idea: if you’re going to charge £9 for a subscription, you should offer more incentive. Better yet, instead of cards battling, have the actual characters battle as this would be a better experience for the player and it would cost the developers more money considering the different combination of battles, which I feel would reflect the price.Version: 8.7.1

HORRIBLE SCAM AVOID AT ALL COSTSThey will charge you for purchases you don’t buy and then take more than what you’ve earned for a refund. DO. NOT. PLAY..Version: 22.29.0

Progression impossible unless pay to winWant new cards? Want to win any game? Pony up, buddy..Version: 9.16.0

Long term disappointment.I played this game for very long and had gotten myself a little addicted. I was spending at least 2 hours an evening on it and was having loads of fun! The addition of conquest made it so much better too. But I can honestly say now I’ve deleted the game.. and have 0% interest in returning… the reason being I have spent the last month trying to give the game time to show me it’s not completely ruined… sadly with the addition of cards like Alioth and Loki, considering one reward comes from spending money on the game, and the other comes from ridiculous amounts of play time. These cards have completely dismantled the skill base to the game. No body can use a deck they like anymore without having an Alioth played last turn to completely ruin someone else’s game. It has no demographic to fit in so its almost impossible to read ahead and see it coming. And the fact that it is now pay to play… I have grafted 10/15 plus hours per week to reach infinity for the season, have reached over 95 and (with evidence) been dismantled by an Alioth every… single… time… the games become so frustrating for me I can’t even be bothered to load it up at the moment. So yeah, fantastic game, ran into the dirt by devs 👍.Version: 19.18.0

All HypeFirst issue with this app is that it’s ridiculously expensive to buy in-game currency to either upgrade your deck or buy variant cards. Most of the variant cards feature awful artwork and they’re super expensive for each one. The next and biggest problem is the opponent selection process is absolutely awful. Once you advance past the second tier and have collected all the cards in that group, you get matched up against anyone else and they will always have better cards than you do. So, if you really enjoy getting “snapped” and losing 2-4 cubes all the time, it’s a great experience. It’s not even a “learning curve” issue; you simply cannot win matches with inferior cards. Oh, and anyone who claims that this game isn’t pay-to-win hasn’t been playing enough or for very long. If you don’t buy the “Season Pass” you won’t get the featured special card, and, it’s always very powerful. 80% of my opponents have these cards and other cards that they have paid for, so losing most matches is what I’m used to. Everything is also extremely random; locations are fairly absurd, draws never seem to work out fairly, and, the synergy of your deck is flushed down the toilet. A match has six turns for each player to play, however, it’s my experience that on a third of the turns provided I can’t play a card in my hand. This is either due to the poor locations that have limited play, and, the randomness of drawing from your deck. Overall, this could be a great game but it just isn’t as good as it should be. It’s absurdly expensive, too reliant on random number generator in its gameplay, and, opponents are often unfairly selected..Version: 9.16.0

Fun game, hateful economySo the game itself? Fun, fresh and vibrant. Not the deepest card game mechanically, but the multi-location system and simultaneous turns make up for it by putting focus onto psychology and brinkmanship. The Snapping system makes you feel very directly rewarded for understanding your and your opponent’s decks, even when that understanding is ‘I have no chance’. But the economy? It’s clear that Snap’s economy was based on two principles: it would have tiny, efficient card pool, and they’d squeeze big boy money out of players anyway. How to achieve those incompatible goals is a question that, nearing a year after release, Second Dinner still have no clue how to answer. Card acquisition starts off slow and then shuts down to a trickle. I played the game every day for months, peaced out when rarity drops became actively malicious. And every time I check back they’ve made it worse. They don’t want you to have staple low rarity cards, they don’t want you to get new cards, they don’t want you to be able to easily get specific cards, they don’t even want you to even be able to get your choice of cosmetics without ponying up any more. Second Dinner are, at best, clueless to the point that it cannot be distinguished from malice, and to buy into engaging with their game at this point is masochistic..Version: 17.17.0

HelpHi I am really keen to play this game but it keeps crashing before I can even start playing I don’t know what the problem is, is it my phone or what? Please help and respond to this as soon as you can! -Cheers.Version: 15.16.0

DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND DEFINITELY DO NOT SPEND MONEYThe amount of cheating, biased game play, and bullying from other players who spend money + cheat as well as bullying from the developers who hate constructive feedback is off the charts. This game is plagued with issues so skip and got to any of the other marvel games. In order to get to higher tiers they expect you to spend 100s of dollars. If you don’t you will reach a cap level in which you will face players who always get the one card combination in order to win while you do not. I know this cause I have tested it out consistently. My level is 73. Once I get there they will refuse to let me get higher level unless I spend money. Eff them. Do not download. Update: Support is a joke. As mentioned above they will bully players. They assume you’re an idiot when you point out the faults and reply with a generic response on how to set up decks, which doesn’t help when you reach a certain point they force you to spend money to grow your decks. They also state they will take a look at the match, which is them going off a photo, and come back with the dumbest response you could imagine. Then the developers will change a cards ability to screw players over who try to work for that card. This is just a horrid game plagued with issues that the developers and support couldn’t care less about. Thank god it’s luster wore off fast..Version: 20.22.1

Fun but unbalancedFun game overall but their are some major balance issues wether with cards such as Captain Marvel but especially with some of the locations. Playing your opponents hand for instance is problematic, or the location that destroys everything played basically it mean if your lucky and are playing the move or destroy decks you’ve won the game otherwise their actively are only two locations that game. But what annoys me also is that I have to mute my opponent’s at the Beginning of each game could there not be a permanent mute button? Also High Evolutionary is completely broken especially in the cases of Hulk a six twenty, the only other card that powerfully makes you skip a turn. Also with abomination it’s ridiculous how easily it can be a zero nine. This is a major problem with this game, even character balance is just very bad, it’s obvious they have not been tested thoroughly before being axed to the game. I am a big MTG fan and in that game very few cards end up being broken usually a couple per set not even always. Marvel snap lacks basic balancing. Also get rid of the Location ego it’s just no fun to watch the AI completely mess up your awesome hand by making all the wrong plays, for me it was the thing that made me delete this game..Version: 17.17.0

Paywalled contentUnlocking new cards quickly becomes a chore and they hide arguably the coolest cards like Miles Morales and Carnage behind a Paywalled Battlepass. When I first saw the reveal of this game I thought it was about hunting and collecting rare and cool cards that could come in 3D or animated etc. Turns out all cards come in standard boring 2D format and you have to manually upgrade them yourself using in game currency (in which you can only get a certain amount weekly). Kinda defeats the whole point of having to hunt for these cards when you can just decide which ones to make 3D/animated. The gameplay itself is okay, nothing really special but it has nice animations, just expected more from this title tbh..Version: 7.6.5

I Dislike This 3000. This is a 2v1 game.I made it to rank 71 and am over it. If you like barebones deck building simulators that lock away cards you need to be competitive in blind bags, and being crushed by unforgiving RNG gimmicks then this is the perfect app for you. This game forces everyone to play the same decks over and over and over and over because no one has the cards they need to change up their “strategies”. So you see the same cards and curves every monotonous match…which you’d think would give you an upper hand to beat the opponent’s deck except the board is also playing against you and there are so few ways to adapt when the location completely ruins any strategy you were attempting to set up. You only have 12 cards, so if a location shuffles 10 random cards into your hand what’s the point of even making a deck? Or when the TVA location pops up on location 3 and ends the game at round 4. Super fun guys. You’ll have soo much fun losing 90% of your matches by 1 single point in a lane. Oh and you can’t play your friends….just bots and random online players who snap at the start of every match or just run away. And the card effects that you earn by upgrading cards are broken. They just turn the card black or the effect doesn’t play at all. They really took their time with this one..Version: 7.6.5

Economy has devolved immenselyBasically what the title says. I NEVER leave reviews ever on games, but being that i’ve spent countless hours playing this game since December, i think i’ve invested enough to have a say in this. The new spotlight cache system is AWFUL for the longevity of this game. Not only is the credit amount required for obtaining just ONE spotlight cache absurd (around 6k), the fact that you even have the chance of getting a duplicate of a card you already had that converts into a variant of ANY card in your collection (meaning i have a chance of getting say… a hawkeye variant in place of an actual useable card) is absolutely horrendous and very gacha-esque. So then lets say i do get the card i wanted , which by the way, if i wanted to guarantee getting that card i would have needed to hoard 4 caches minimum, which the devs have now basically advocated for. Now that i’ve finally got the card i want, i have to wait potentially months for the next card i want and the cycle just continues. Regular caches give less (no gold and wayyy less tokens), in order for us to spend money on their terribly integrated system. This game has such a good foundation, and great legs to move forward on, but jesus christ the developers love to do everything in their power to stop the growth of this game. Pains me to say it, but pass on this game until this system is fixed..Version: 17.17.0

Terrible since latest updateSomething has changed. There have used to be a well balanced game of planning, luck and strategy with no cost benefits to people who payed. A recent update introduced a way of getting bigger level cards that benefits people who pay much more. Since then the game become so unbalanced it is no longer enjoyable. For a non pay player it is now 100% down to bad luck on the part of an an opponent to win. The deck combinations they have due to high level card combinations are impossible to beat with cards from tier 1 and 2. It used to be easy to gain new cards in a way that seemed largely equitable for those who do abs do not pay but with a free days of the update this is vastly skewed as the availability of gaining new cards has been severely reduced for non payers. Don’t bother unless you want to pay or this is fixed..Version: 9.16.0

Game becomes more pay2win over time, not new player friendlyI have been playing for months and almost every “improvement” to card collection has either achieved the opposite or came with a downgrade that has made the game more pay2win over time - the latest spotlight caches update being the worst of all. Also ranked play is filled with bots. I would not recommend this to new players unless something changes.Version: 18.7.7

We want cards not cosmetics.I’ll start off buy saying this game is lots of fun but there’s an issue when it comes to acquiring cards especially when your collector level gets higher. I have to spend credits (that take forever to earn or can be paid for) or gold (that take forever to earn or can be paid for) to upgrade my cards and open Collector’s Reserves and they don’t even guarantee new cards you don’t own yet. If you just happen to get collector’s tokens from the Collector’s Reserves you only get 100 and the cards in the shop cost approximately 5000 of them. There is clearly a huge incentive to pay for gold and credits in order to attempt and acquire new cards but yet it’s still not guaranteed even if you spend your hard earned money. We don’t want to have to play or pay to potentially earn titles or cosmetic variants (especially for cards we don’t use) from these packs that cost tons of credits to achieve. I think it makes much more sense that you should earn cards for increasing your collection level, and then be able to get cosmetics from Collector’s Reserves after you have obtained all the cards in the game. The only guaranteed way to earn cards are the Spotlight Caches which equals 1 cache every 120 collectors levels (It costs $30-$35 just to upgrade a card from common to infinity which would get you 31 levels so you would have to pay minimum $120 just to get a guaranteed card).Version: 20.23.0

Fix cachesBroken progression system needs to be fixed.Version: 17.17.0

Astoundingly Greedy, boring grind festSecond Dinner doesn’t respect you, doesn’t respect your time and doesn’t respect your money. They ignore the community and cater ONLY to Whales, Their M.O is to release massively overpowered cards at a premium of over $120 per card (they release 1 every week) and then let the card run rampant over the player base only to Nerf the card 3 months later when non whales get the opportunity to play with it. The one and only game mode is a soulless full time job of a grind that uses psychological trickery that will surely create more than a few gambling addicts with this being a game with a Disney license and marketed to 9 year olds, it’s quite the moral quandary *** since this recent update the game is now more like a Disney themed Casino than ever, Second Dinner have decided to swap certainty for chance and any planned updates like the measly 1000 tokens will do nothing to change that fact, so I’ve deleted the game.Version: 17.17.0

RiggedGame is so rigged and they don’t even try to hide it.Version: 20.23.0

Developers don’t deserve your money for this bad gameI’ve been playing this game since it came out and it has progressed very little due to so many flaws with the game. The matches are very uneven for both players due to the terrible locations that are created, and they only have two game modes that have terrible matchmaking. The rewards for the game aren’t worth playing consistently for large amounts of time. The daily rewards aren’t beneficial in any way, forcing you to want to buy unbalanced cards. IF you buy them, you still get paired up with bots that counter your deck 80 percent of the time. There’s no variety of game modes, making it boring over time. You level up cards that don’t benefit you; matchmaking is unbalanced; the graphics aren’t THAT cool; opponent’s counter decks are very common. The developers had a good concept but continue to fail with updates. UPDATE Now I realize once you reach even higher ranks, they patch your deck by putting you against counter decks/bots more often. Nothing about this game is worth playing, because why allow players to win when you can force them to buy cards. The game developers are terrible, just like this game. UPDATE After you find a consistent winning deck, they will put you with counter decks way more often, because they’re terrible developers. For example, I saw a White Queen in a destroy deck, which makes absolutely no sense except to counter your last move..Version: 21.23.2

Great Game, Needs BalanceFun to play, but it always feels like you go up against the same few decks as everyone tries out the new meta. There’s so many ultra strong cards with not enough counters. Shang Chi is about the only counter to most of those high power cards, especially necessary when cards like Knull can get up to the 40s with the right conditions. Another example in the current event is Loki. He adds the opponents opening hand to yours with the added bonus of them costing less to play. Combine that with the Collector (who gains power when the cards are added to your hand) and the Quinjet (which reduces the play cost further) and it becomes nigh unbeatable. On top of this, Loki comes with the battle pass so the only way to get him is to get lucky on a new card or pay. Making it feel pay to win considering how many people already did just that. There’s always gonna be meta builds, I get that. But there should be some balance. I don’t want to start a game or conquest and be like “Oh, they’ve got this card and since I didn’t bring Shang Chi, I can’t win.” Overall, I just want more variety. That’s the biggest draw to me, all these different Marvel heroes in this game..Version: 19.18.0

Used to be 5*, can be again. STOP CHANGING CARDS.Really like this game. Really enjoy it and have bought every season pass. Never usually do in app purchases. I never really review apps either l. But by god, I’m actually tired of they’re meddling. A game needs stability. Metas emerge, metas die. It’s natural that players enjoy ebbs and flows. But the devs in this game are CONSTANTLY nerfing things. I feel absolutely 0 motivation to invest my time in cards and decks when constantly they’re changing text of cards and changing its power, thus killing decks. You can tell me it’s too powerful blah blah, but nobody actually cares. They probably nerf 15 cards a month and only one nerf, leader, has actually been decent. The rest is just micromanagement and frustrating. Please stop fiddling. Cards will be strong. Cards will be better than others. This is natural. You’re frustrating your player base..Version: 15.15.2

139.99 are you nuts?Dislikes: 1.Random reward system. This system make grinding really hit and miss making players feel under rewarded for time invested. This system also makes if very hard to get new cards(that you actually want). 2. Terrible in game purchase bundles. 139.99? It’s a mobile game no one wants to spend that much on anything. That’s the only bundle that will have any effect on you actually obtaining cards you want. (Get who ever thought of that out of the company) 3. Lack luster rewards for rank system. I don’t want a name plate that say “really really dirty” upon reaching the highest level. (Get this person out of here too) 4. No friend vs friend(yet). Hurry up Likes: It’s a fantastic game with good mechanics, artistry and replay ability. 5/5 if I could build a full deck I want. This game is burning out due to frustrating progression systems. Have fun!.Version: 10.13.3

Not that badI don’t like that It tells me what to do.Version: 10.13.3

A bug issueI have downloaded the game and played the tutorial in which a bug has happened where I am unable to upgrade a card due to not having the resources. I have contact them both in game and by customer support and received an automated response which is about a different email. This bug means I am unable to continue to play the game unless I create an new account which I did to recreate the bug which is cause me by upgrading a card after a match in the match end screen before the tutorial happens. I wish someone would take my genuine complaint seriously as the game seems fun and would like to enjoy it. As of this time I am being ignored which is poor customer service and makes me believe this game is just another one to prioritise making money rather than the player’s experience which coming from ex activation blizzard employees says a lot..Version: 7.6.5

Great until you hit pool 3I really enjoyed playing marvel snap until I hit the top tier. Up to that point it was really fun and well balanced, with good rewards coming along as I progressed. At tier 3 it became a real slog and started to feel unfair, as opponents with superior cards started to become the norm and I just couldn’t get the cards I wanted, at which point I fell out of love with it. The token shop feels like a token gesture towards this to me, the token reward currency being extremely sparse and the issue of not being able to find the right cards still present. I’ve now ditched the app and will look around for a less frustrating alternative.Version: 9.16.0

Good game but needs workLove the game but it needs a bit of tweaking. If you sign in with your Apple ID you cannot use the game in another device. So if you’re playing in your phone and you want to play a quick game in your iPad … it tell you your account is used by another player. Even if you sign out on the other device it won’t let you use your ID to sign in on a new device. A bit pointless for multiple devices.Version: 4.6.2

RNG nightmareI really want to like this game because it’s Marvel, but it’s just so poorly designed that I find myself cursing at it more than I am having fun with it. The biggest problem is with the locations. The locations are random and tend to punish you more than adding anything fun or positive to the game. No cards can be played here, cards here have negative power, each card played here shuffles five rocks into your deck, and etc…wow, what fun! Add the randomness of drawing cards in general to those horrible locations and you just have a RNG nightmare. The progression system is poorly designed. The cards you unlock from each tier are completely random. Who wants to keep getting smashed by the card someone was lucky enough to unlock just to get a random chance at getting the same one every so often? There are a few OP cards that will win the game almost every time no matter how you play. It’s designed to keep you playing and spending non stop. This game should still be in beta. It’s plagued with balancing issues, has no character bios, and no landscape mode. Strategy and skill unfortunately only play a minimal role in this game…you might as well be at a casino. Playing this game feels like you are trying to roll dice at a craps table while the person next to you throws a drink in your face..Version: 11.18.1

Predatory pricing. Beware.Over the past few weeks and months the game has become more predatory and solely focused on whales. It’s a fun game for a bit but you quickly hit a wall and unlocking new cards becomes a snails pace which in turn pushes you towards spending $100s of dollars or just not wanting to play anymore..Version: 10.13.3

Needs a slight adjustmentI’ve been playing marvel snap consistently for 2 months now and it is very fun! The idea of the game is incredible and I love the creativity you can have within the game. This game has the works of one of the best mobile games of all time, except for one aspect: the luck factor. Of course there is luck in every game and for the most part it doesn’t the gameplay at all. What I dislike about the luck is with the collection. I haven’t had an issue with collecting series 3 cards since I don’t have to worry about potentially collecting another copy of the same card. But the same can’t be said about series 4 and 5 cards. When you open a spotlight cache, there is a chance to get one that isn’t in the spotlight which I like. What I dislike is how those cards have the chance to be one of the series 4 and 5 cards that you already have. And these random ones are the worst in the game. I have collected Kang 3 times out of 25+ other series 4 and 5 cards I still need to collect. The odds of this happening are so low and it makes no sense why my luck is this bad. I have also collected 2 kitty prydes and 2 hit monkeys which is super disappointing. For compensation they give you 1000 collectors tokens which don’t even mean much to me at this stage since I don’t even have all the series 3 cards so I need to get those. This is the only problem to me which might seem like me just ranting but it really discourages me from continuing to play this game..Version: 22.29.0

CONFUSINGThe game is slow at the start but once you learn it it’s stupid easy the problem is, is that. 1. When you create a deck that wins you a lot of games near the tier 3-4 stages in rank the game pits you up against bots that will counter your cards and give them the advantage no matter what. 2. The match making as your progress becomes so unfair it’s confusing. You get defeated if you tie on 1 win on 2 and have more cards on 3 but less points or whatever. 3. There’s no way to get cards unless you absolutely rinse this game of time like at least in marvel future fight they give you free inbox things and have so many ways to get characters and different match making options. There’s so much work that needs to be done on this game it’s crazy..Version: 15.17.0

Garbage and Zero ControlBuild a deck with synergies, etc only to be screwed every match by: -Never drawing the cards you need -Drawing the cards you need and getting screwed by locations which negate your hand. -Opponent gets every card they need or can positively gain from locations. -Opponents play Loki to copy your hand and essentially prove they can’t think for themselves and make a competitive deck so they use yours. -Matchmaking continuously putting me against players with the same cards or with the exact counters to screw you. Yea great game developers. 👎🏻 You’re all unhinged..Version: 20.22.1

Not sure why this has 5 stars. In app purchases basically required after lvl. 95 (about a day of play) which is a joke, a game like this wouldn't be acceptable on a gameboy so why's it asking people for $150.00 for in-app purchases for a crummy card game? Pathetic attempt at thievery basically, from marvel. Has anyone sued these developers yet on these grounds? I say we look into it and use this app and its' developers as the precedence to crack down on the unfair, youth targeted, predatory in app purchases and these game mechanics clearly developed to drive in-app purchases under a veil of 'xp grinding'. They need to be held accountable..Version: 11.18.1

Ruined EconomyTaking away currency from all players to extract more juice from the vine. Short term decisions will ruin another game..Version: 17.17.0

Awesome game but …….While I have immensely enjoyed the game, I must say the one of the issues I have are the repetitive nature of the cards you receive. I mean I do enjoy the different card face variations, does one really need 4 different copies of one card. Yes you boost the cards and change the looks but then you reach its max level and you get another version but with a different categorization. Can’t they actually get a different boost to what it already brings to the game or is that it. I’m at a point where I only boost cards just for the missions. I mean do I really want to boost another “Mantis” card to its max to get another exact copy to start again with no added bonuses to make it worthwhile. I’m for the different artist representations because some are really cool, but enough with the get the card to max status and for your troubles here’s another of the same exact copy to do it again. Also another thing is the cards that play for you, can they actually be made to make a positive play to win and not just screw you out of a turn and put you back from what was being stategized. I can’t remember how many times I’ve retreated when my strategy gets bamboozled because Ego or Agatha happens upon my board and I’m just left wondering why would you make that move. Anyways great game but maybe address these annoying issues. I’m sure I’m not alone in this..Version: 13.13.3

Gambling but without the funThe randomly generated effects ruin the game. Your input does not matter at all, the game plays itself. Your hand will get replaced at random by literal unplayable rocks, while your opponent will get 12 power 0 cost cards. If by some miracle you play the 1% match without the gamebreaking random effects, you will lose because your opponent has played longer than you and has access to better cards. You can’t even pay to catch up: if you don’t have a time machine and didn’t start playing at launch, you simply will not have access to the Pool 2 and 3 cards, while getting paired up against opponents that do. Whoever designed this game did so while having a stroke, it’s very easy to tell..Version: 9.16.0

AverageYea this game goes hard at certain times of the day. But for those outside of country freedom your gonna sit there for 4 mins on conquest trying to get a match only to get told “computer says no”. Near unplayable if your not playing at the right time of day.Version: 21.23.2

Garbage gameGarbage game full of players who pay ti win intentionally pkay slow. Snap knowing that their oponent has zero chance of winning and a support team that is garbage just like the game. Im advising any and all people who ask about this to forget downloading it because its not even fun anymore.Version: 21.23.2

Card game equivalent of a food fight.Fast, stylish and almost completely random. If all you want to do is throw pogs at the screen in an ADHD alpha state and let a random number generator tell you whether you won or not, then absolutely give this a shot; but if you want to think about what you’re doing for even the smallest length of time then do just about anything else..Version: 7.6.5

Scamming application which is sad.I really want to like this game but it must have built in algorythms that are scamming your games. They will call it rng but things that are happening here...regularly.. Would mean you must be so "lucky" to repeat them over and over that you should play at the lottery. For example you play 8 round conquest, oponent gets 6 time collector..on round 2. Do I get zabu? Nope, not a single time, sorry one time in round 5. Ok let's play vs destroy deck, 6 rounds, every single time deadpool in round 1-2. Do I get zabu? Nope, zero times. Another destroy deck 6 rounds, 5 times deadpool, 1 time zabu for me yey. Play 7 rounds vs cerebro+mystique....every, literally every round oponent has full combo, do I see zabu? 1 round on turn 4. It's unbearable and repeating on and on and on again that this is not rng. It's scamming you to be frustrated and spend more in game money. Terrible design and after a while it will just make you very frustrated because of the "rng" ;) Oh have I mentioned anything about matching system? It's so pathetic that it will draw you up against decks that are counter to yours. Just played 5 conquests and 5 times, yes five...... times it matched me against destroy deck. This game's algorithms are designed to frustrate you to the maximum. I hope it has negative effect and people just leave instead. There is good outflow of players which is good to greedy designers..Version: 22.29.0

Stay awayGreedy, predatory, pay to win garbage.Version: 17.17.0

Used to be greatI started playing the game around November of 2022 and the game was super addicting and I just kept wanting to play it. I started to buy the battle passes because I wanted to support the devs because I thought they really cared about the player base they have and truly wanted us to have fun. Fast forward to now, the devs have made horrible hame changes such as predatory advances to high price bundles and increasing the price of the low price bundles such as token tuesday. The game used to be easy to progress rewarding you the different currencies through the caches and giving you cards but now they have decreased the amount of currency you can get like making 100 token gain go to 50 and you can no longer gain series 4/5 cards from the caches. Decreasing the gain of tokens seems like they just want us to spend more money on the game for the high priced bundles to get series 4/5 cards which doesnt feel rewarding or satisfying anymore. I used to put tons of hours into the game but these changes makes all the effort I’m putting in feel like a waste of time and I can’t even imagine what it’s like for casual players. The only decent thing they have been doing is balance changes as it always shifts the meta and flow of the game which kept it fun. To put it simple, it feels like the devs are making money hungry changes and just isn’t fun grinding anymore..Version: 17.17.0

Was fun and F2P friendly once upon a timeRIP game.Version: 17.17.0

Becoming too monetizedWhen I started playing in October the game did not cost much money in order to keep up with the Jones’s. The monthly season pass was all you really needed to rack up currency. Unfortunately the last several months have rolled out changes to how you receive currency and made it much more difficult. It seems to be leaning into the pay to win realm. It’s still fun but much harder to make progress with your card collection..Version: 17.17.0

Great at firstI was enjoying the game play up until I hit pool 3 cards. Then that’s when they take the training wheels off and you play against other complete decks. I had hit infinite twice in a row starting out because it was that much easier. Ever since hitting pool 3 I can’t get past rank 80. Mainly due to the fact that you are going up against complete decks using the best meta they can get their hands on. So obviously I did what anyone else would do, I kept playing until I could get my hands on the best cards. But now, despite the fact that I have complete decks to choose from, it doesn’t matter. Because they’ll just match me up against decks that have strong counters to mine. To the point where it doesn’t feel coincidental. I won’t see certain cards all day but as soon as I switch decks there’s that pesky Cosmo, or Enchantress, or Shang Chi, or etc. Also, they have changed the way the card acquistion works since I first started playing and now you get far less in game currency rewards. To me, it’s less the fact that we’re getting less rewards but more about the fact that you had to change in the first place. It tells me that you either don’t know what you doing financially or you know exactly what you’re doing, and it’s despicable..Version: 17.17.0

Waste of timeThere is only one card that matters in the whole game which is Thanos. Without him you loose. To farm him takes months of game play. Devs allowed this complete imbalance of the series 5 cards to go on for a month..Version: 12.12.2

100% pay to winMarvel Snap is a well designed card battler with loads of fan grabbing content and an excellent polish. They boast that you won’t have to pay to win and that all can come and earn what you’ll need to compete. That’s where it falls flat. If you aren’t paying, you aren’t upgrading fast enough, you aren’t getting the new cards and you aren’t progressing. Period. What’s worse is that the in app purchases are so weirdly restrictive that unless you’re ready to drop real money and on the regular, you can’t even get enough to justify the occasional buy in. And oh boy, You’ll see the people buying in. With the avatars and new power cards right out the gate. And while many of them will level out of your group level, there will always be more. And that’s what kills the game for me. The non-pay rewards are so slight as to be ridiculous (ooh boy 50 credits!!!) and you earn maybe one or two card every couple of weeks. Maybe, just maybe, one of them will be a good card. Maybe. You think that’s going to change when you progress to the next level of rewards (caches become reserves) but it’s the exact same rewards. Just a new name. So, yes. While you can’t come in and spend 100$ and get what you need to win, you better be prepared to spend 20-50 bucks a month if you want to keep winning. Fun while it lasted, tho.Version: 13.13.2

Fun for the first few hoursI was having a lot of fun with this game and it seemed fairly balanced at first. I was winning quite a lot of games early on, and I think this is done on purpose to draw people into the game. After a certain amount of time or level, you start being matched with people that have elite, paid for decks, and though I don’t have proof, the locations that are put in each match seem to specifically be counter intuitive to the deck you’re playing, and this really seems to be a big issue when specifically playing against people that have spent money on the game. I’ve went from a level 25 down to 13 in the span of 2 days because I’m constantly matched with people who simply have much more powerful decks than I do and have spent money on cards and boosters that are built around being counters to the free cards you get as you level up and upgrade your decks’ card art. I haven’t reviewed a game in a long time but I think people should be aware that this is yet another Disney/Marvel creation that is a pay to win project that is trying to push players to spend money as they feel they can’t keep up with their opponents after about a dozen matches into the game. Art is beautiful, animations are smooth, and this has potential to be fun in the long run, but if you’re looking to have fun without spending a penny, this game is not it..Version: 18.7.7

Recent changes are awfulThe recent change moving away from tokens and to spotlight caches is really frustrating. It feels like I have way less agency about which cards I get, and a lot more random chance and wasted time and effort. I hope they move back toward giving out more tokens for normal play..Version: 17.17.0

Game stuck at the end of season wasting all my effortsI played competitively for the entire season, and on the last day, a bug makes my match enter an infinite loop. It won't end or allow me to quit. Aa a result I lost the reason rewards I could have gotten..Version: 9.16.0

MatchmakingYou know what, as much as I want to love this game I just really find it hard to. The matchmaking is horrific. I’ve played many games with matchmaking like this but I was hoping it was going to be different. I’ve only got 1 pool 5 card which is Sauron and with the cards I have he’s absolutely useless. Not even completed pool 3 yet and the last few days the only people I have played against are people who have spent a ridiculous amount of money on the game as you can tell by the player icons which are only available in bundles that cost money not gold. All I’ve been put against is thanos, knull, darkhawk, shuri and galactus decks these last few days and the second I change my deck to counter a certain deck the next game I play they use the complete opposite of what I’m countering. I love this game but this matchmaking is just a let down..Version: 12.12.2

Great gameplay but..The gameplay is genuinely great but the monetisation is bad. Seeing the game go from friendly to f2p players but then removing gold from caches is not good.Version: 17.17.0

WhateverJust another game that will be ruined by the greed of the makers. You struggle if you don’t pay and waste your money when you do. Must be nice to constantly buy the premium every campaign only to see those cards semi useless after that campaign is over. Love to see $139.99 Canadian for what amounts to flashy, useless card skins that do nothing more than flash how well you can’t manage or have too much money. Send it my way if you have too much. Im sure I can fix you up with a special picture made by a program. Oh and please don’t criticize about what you think of certain cards. Game and snowflakes got upset for pointing out that some cards are cheating cards..Version: 22.28.0

Does not respect your money or time for the little it gives back. This game is supremely addictive and only mildly entertaining. Most of the time I end up more frustrated than satisfied when I finish a session. That’s not a good sign for a game loop regardless of skill. The progression system is awful. Once you get to intermediate levels it slows down to a crawl which impedes gameplay. It takes hours and hours of grinding to progress at any significant pace and that’s contrary to the short gameplay loop. They use a lot of FOMO tactics to keep you engaged daily like a season pass that expires, daily, weekly, bonus missions that also expire. The game monetizes by selling you progress currency and cosmetics. The cosmetics are literally the coolest part of the game (it’s a card game you want cool cards) but they are insanely pricey, with most variants of the cards 12+ dlls each! If you were to spend 100dlls (!!) on one of their big bundles, you’d barely notice the progress. It’s actually insane how little you get. Don’t waste your time with this greedy trap. Pros: Cool Marvel cards with cool effects, quick game loop. Cons: Requires you to grind everyday forever to keep up. FOMO abuse. Wants exorbitant amounts of money to progress or get the best variants and gives too little back. Games are often frustrating and repetitive..Version: 22.28.0

Demanding visualsGreat but for me crashes often on lowest setting because I have a 2015 IPad to old for them I guess.Version: 22.29.0

Great game! This really is a great game. I haven’t played a game for this long is quite some time now and I truthfully enjoy it above all other games on my phone. So why 3 stars? I’ll tell you. It’s not equipped for veteran players. I’ve been playing since it’s release and like all games it’s been progressing in its own way. One way In particular is the grinding. You have to grind like crazy to save up gold and tokens because you only ever Gain bits at a time. All for ridiculous costing new cards. That wouldn’t be an issue if you could still win new cards in the cache but now you have to grind even more to gain 120 collection levels each week for a chance to win a card you don’t have. And that’s if you don’t unlock a variant instead. I wish I could leave the rating at 3.5 because 3 is to harsh while 4 is being to generous. It started off great and they started making questionable decisions, all for the new comers which is great if your joining up, but after a certain point, it loses it’s true value and essence for what it started off as. There’s other small details but hey, no game is perfect. Just a simple veteran-players’ opinion. enjoy the game!.Version: 19.18.0

Another pay wall game, sad state of mobile gamingThis is a great game, great cards, great play mechanics, there is a problem though, paywall. launch event costs £8.99 to participate, is this how it’s going to be for every event? I can see the players abandoning this game before it’s even taken off. Shame really, for those who remember a game called WOH, we have been waiting for a replacement for several years now, sadly it is not meant to be. For those who are free to players or parents of kids, in a time when cost of living is through the roof, this game has missed the mark by a lot. Marvel fans everywhere despair..Version: 8.7.1

Do not start if you are f2p.Right now the game feels so bad as a f2p player. The p2w cards power level is ridiculous. i am looking at you Zabu. Either spend money to have this card and enjoy the game or don’t have it and get destroyed by it in every match..Version: 10.13.3

4 years was it?This game took 4 years to make was it? I mean clever game and all but we’ve seen it before gameplay and all. Looks fancy is that why it took 4 years. Don’t get me wrong I’m having fun playing it, it’s easy to learn and navigate, love that it doesn’t have ads (that I’ve seen) and doesn’t push micro transactions but I’m still looking at it thinking..it took 4 years? In however long this took for development I’d at least hope to see some ground breaking gameplay we’ve never seen before not just an extensive library and fancy visuals for a run of the mill card game. It’s not even like the cards themselves have these amazing fancy powers. It’s mainly just + or - powers. I’m guessing it took them 4 years to make this fancy and come up with the name. Which doesn’t even make sense..Version: 13.13.2

Horrible monetization system with incredibly incompetent developerOther than being a buggy mess with almost no play testing between updates. The constant changes Second Dinner releases just keeps making the game worse..Version: 17.18.0

Paywall ContentThe gameplay is good and easy to get to grips with, if nothing more than a flashier ccg with the animations in the App Store hidden behind hours of gameplay. After a few hours be prepared to be locked out of the cooler cards behind a £9 season pass. I’m pretty sure I saw this advertised as ‘not being like other ccg’ and it was the most free to play with the ability to unlock all cards without paying. Oh well another developer who promises so much and ultimately lies to get maximum amount of traffic in the first few weeks to only dwindle off support after 6 months. Probably won’t play next week.Version: 7.6.5

Always Changing The RulesThis game has far too many updates to be consistent with any of their own game rules. Cards will be added weekly, with heavy promotions to buy the new season pass to have access to new cards, variants, boosters, etc. They will then change the power/cost of those cards (usually around the end of the monthly pass) making them useless after the season is over. It’s a shame because the game itself was great, they just can’t seem to keep an even keel. Who wants to play a game that makes up/changes rules as they go on?.Version: 20.23.0

Could be a fun game but login issues ruin itThe actual game is kind of fun, although heavy on the P2W…. But the most annoying thing is lots of bugs with linking an account or logging in. I lost my first account as it kept erroring when attempting to register to Apple ID or Google. After a recent patch, I’ve been successful able to link a new account to Google - however I can only login when on WiFi at home. The game won’t login in when I’m on mobile data. This is unacceptable and their troubleshooting response has been useless. I think I’ll have to uninstall and give it another look in 6 months or so..Version: 4.6.2

Not working after downloading appTrouble starting game won’t go pass opening title.Version: 3.0.1

Not bad but bugs ruined it for meStarted to really enjoy the game and was even tempted to spring for premium but just as I was about to finish the weekly quest for once the game dies and cannot be saved… not restarting… not cold booting… nothing… I reinstall and instead of it allowing me to use my snap ID with my Apple ID it just starts a new game and saves over everything even though my first play through was linked to my Apple account… disappointed but glad I didn’t spend any money though did invest some time… won’t be doing that again if they can’t reinstate my account.Version: 6.9.1

Somewhat Fun Money GrabThe game itself is fun but the devs behind it are actively trying to get you to spend more and more money. You only face real people around 50% of the time and the bots are completely broken. They know what you are about to do and play the perfect counter cards that destroy your game. These bots will also play cards you don’t have in perfect ways to get you to want them bad enough to spend money. When you face real people they are only going to use meta decks so if you make a random deck to have fun be prepared to lose consistently. There are a ton of whales in this game that spend thousands of dollars to buy all cards and variants which the devs are catering to. Variant packs will cost anywhere from $5-$100 which can give you a card if you don’t have it. If you aren’t prepared to spend money it’s going to take you awhile to get a decent deck and along the way you’ll lose consistently to broken cards you don’t have. There are somewhere around 10 broken cards at any given time, which the devs take around 1-2 weeks to nerf them then buff other cards which breaks them. There aren’t any casual game modes its only ranked or a 1v1 battle which goes multiple rounds so there’s no incentive for people to not sweat or not use meta deck’s because everyone is trying to rank up and gather the rewards..Version: 20.23.0

A Shame, Pay to winI was actually really, really amazed at how this game was fun and got me back into mobile gaming.. However, Once I got through the first 20 levels I realized it was just a way to try and hook you into getting a battle pass. Normally I don’t mind because its just cosmetics but they PAYWALL cards!! absolutely disgusting..Version: 9.16.0

Matchmaking is stacked against you.The game is fun to play but as soon as you start winning a few too many games in a row the game makes you go on a losing streak by match making you into lobbies that are exact counter playing decks or the islands destroy the synergy of your deck….”need to pay this game” *cants can be played here* you’re opponent is an on reveal deck and you’re not? *on reveal abilities happen twice here* I like to play off meta and build desk that feel fun but also play well and unfortunately the meta has become stale and it’s just no longer fun to play because once you hit 70+ you NEED to play a meta deck. Get to high ranks you only see thanos, lockjaw, aero, Shang chi and leech..Version: 12.12.2

Fun Game and Worth Playing. But….When I first saw the trailer for this, I thought it looked fun and when I played it. I was surprised by how much I play this, the gameplay is the highlight of its entirety. It’s fast pace, it’s makes you strategize, and there are plenty of combinations with certain cards that can secure a win for you(if you know what you’re doing and play it right). But at the same time, it’s not perfect. It has flaws, the biggest being that there are times when I can clearly tell that I was against a bot. I’m sure there are real time players here, but imo, I was convinced that I was against bots more than anything. The second is the season pass, the pass it self isn’t worth it, and it cost 10$. When I saw this and the micro transactions in the store that have the variety cards this was a immediate red flag to me. Heck, variety cards are hard to come by and are only found in the season pass(I haven’t seen the pull pass in a while, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in the premium pass for 10$). Overall: this is a fun game and the gameplay clearly shows, all it needs is more ways to get variety cards and have more of the rewards in the season pass for free. When that’s their, then this would be 4 to 5 stars definitely..Version: 7.6.5

Decided to deleteToo much gambling elements the “snap” function is basically Pokers “All In” the collection system is practically loot boxes and there’s simply way too much RNG. Featured locations forces you to play certain cards pushing more towards a pay to win element. This game is bad for your health trust me..Version: 7.6.1

Good but not greatFirst off I do like this game and how it over plays. The game is definitely not pay to WIN which is awesome, but here is my major gripe with the game. It’s the RNG system. I’m currently sitting at lvl 1061, I downloaded the game 1 week after release. I play very consistently and yes I have spent money that has no provided 1 ounce of Pay to Win for me. Six at lvl 1061 opening gold caches you would think that I’d have most or close to most of the META card in the game, here is my issue with that. The developer will say : well it’s all based off RNG how items are unlocked. Yet the higher you get on levels the more difficult it becomes to unlocking the next cache. Meanwhile if your RNG is just plain horrible your stuck playing others wgo have much better cards and getting wiped. I just wish there was a way to earn certain cards other then just blind RNG hope. There is nothing worse then working hard to open a golden cache to get 50 credits to power up a card or getting Yellow Jacket on your very first golden cache. I’m mean really….?!? Yellow Jacket? Ughhhh. Anyways over the game is fun but needs to have something different in the way it rewards those who play. How are we to experience the full value of the game when you have very little access to ALL the cards..Version: 8.7.1

They changed their system and it's not worth playingThis game used to be really fun, but the new system for getting new cards (to keep up with the ever changing meta) has ruined any sort of serotonin i got from this game, and will be advising anyone to stay away. a terrible choice to not only alienate your clients, but to change you're system to be absolutely predatory to people with disposable income. shame on you. for new players, it's not worth it. unless you're shelling out $100+ a month, you will not have after the initial month of playing..Version: 17.17.0

Average Card GameIts really repetitive and boring once you have an hour of play time. There isn't enough variation in game play for me to stick with it. I'd much rather play hearthstone..Version: 14.17.0

Failed expectationsReally sad review to make. The game promises to have “taken what is not fun out of the card game trope design” and it really seems to do that at first with some really innovative things. Sadly, come midgame that is a lie. It is the same old grindfest, the same old ‘forced to play decks you don’t want to’ to progress. Along with the toxic fomo, pay to progress, and expensive bundles you would have come to expect from mobile games. At the end of the day the worst part of this is the missions. Most of the above you can choose to ignore. But missions are basically the ONLY way for a casual player to progress in both collection, as well as the PAID season pass. The way the missions are designed, you have to play for quite a while EVERYDAY with decks you don’t want to play to progress AT ALL. It is completely toxic! I can understand the slow endgame grind, and I honestly like that it is hard to have a complete collection. They seem to release cards weekly to keep things spicy! And yet, what is the point! A casual player cannot play the decks they want if they want to progress at all, will never progress as the speed cards are released, and even the paid subscription that is most affordable requires HOURS of play DAILY to make any fair use of. So so so sad for a game that has seemed at first so promising..Version: 9.16.0

I’m only battling bots?Has been fun to play but after a while you realise that no one you’re vsing makes any logical moves?? Very clear I’m not playing real people.Version: 7.6.5

Great game going badLet’s start by saying Marvel Snap has been the best mobile game I’ve personally ever played, BUT, the recent updates particularly pertaining to the regular collector caches make the game so unrewarding that I’m losing interest in playing. I feel like the devs are really trying to pressure the player base into forking out money to progress and collect the cards they want through these recent updates. I’ve been playing the last several seasons and bought all but one season pass. I have no problem spending my money on a game I enjoy, but I won’t spend money if I feel my arm is being twisted. To the devs - focus on fun and the money will flow, keep focusing on this FOMO tactic and I’ll be sure this season will be my last buying the season pass..Version: 17.17.0
