✓ Goodbye to DayOneHaving used DayOne since 2014, I begrudge paying over £30 a year for minimal annual development. I was looking around for an alternative that gave me more multimedia possibilities and came across this app from the makers of Noteshelf. Now for a small one off fee I can add handwritten notes using their excellent fountain pen, add sketches, highlight text and even write on images. It also backs up to iCloud. This is on top of other media that DayOne makes you pay for such as PDF, audio recordings and scanning. It’s still a new app and does currently lack things like creating your own templates (they have several pre written ones), importing entries, ‘On this day’ and location info, but I’m hopeful there will be new features brought over from Noteshelf. So after well over 2000 entries in DayOne it’s time for something new that adds more possibilities to my daily journaling..Version: 1.10
✓ So far I Love It!Honestly, I’m so tired of subscriptions for journals. I just want something simple that I can use easily. This actually has a number of features that make it nice, like being able to use different fonts, create bulleted text, etc. And being able to add photos is always a plus. ✓ Great App. One Question.I got GoJournal to test it and compare it to my 8 year old journaling app DayOne. I bought it with confidence due to my previous experience with Noteshelf which is amazing note taking app made by the same team. At their initial launch I was not that impressed with the app but that changed quickly. Within days and weeks of my purchase I saw many of the same features I expect from a great journaling app. I am now seriously considering moving from my current app to this one. The only question I have is if I can import from DayOne to this one or not and if that is on the roadmap? Thank you Fluid Touch for making a great journaling app..Version: 2.1

✓ Good journal but needs tagsPlease add moods and weather. And tags. Edit: so there are tags and you have to use # to add them. Please add ‘#’ on the bar where you can change text size, make it bold, etc. Also a request: you could add themes. To change the purple colour. Otherwise it’s a very good app..Version: 2.0
✓ Nice journal, love that it’s paid with no subscription!I cannot afford subscription apps (being one of many people with a fixed income living paycheck to paycheck) so I am so thankful for companies that still offer paid apps, and this app is a good journal well worth the price. The only complaint is that for me the streaks does not seem to work correctly; the streaks was always at 0 even though I used it everyday. ✓ Solid appI’ve been using this app for a few months now. I really like how there are different prompts and options to get started if you don’t know exactly what to write that day. It might be nice to have an option to disable streaks? I don’t have enough happening in my life to update every day, so seeing the 0/7 streaks all the time seems a bit funky. I usually update every 3-4 days. Not a real problem tho..Version: 2.0

Would love to see Markdown for formatting text—making headers and such is a bit awkward. Any chance we can get Markdown implementation? I'd also love to see an Apple Watch companion app for capturing thoughts on the go. If this app reached feature parity with DayOne or Diarly, it would easily be the best app on the market. ✓ Worth the one-time paymentThis is a great app for journaling because of the templates it gives, editing features, and saving to the cloud. Other journal apps I tried did not have such robust features and usually had a monthly fee which I hate. The only thing that I could think of that would make this app amazing would be the ability to edit or creat entities on a computer that I could then access on my phone. I tend to type a lot in my entry and find that I need a keyboard to get all my thoughts out..Version: 2.5

✓ Great OrganizationReally happy with how many notebooks you can make and the templates that are offered. I always struggled keeping paper versions as when I needed to track anything back I would get lost in different subjects and the entries just seemed muddled up. With this app you can have multiple diaries, name them individually and have different colours. It also has many brilliant features, such as: templates, quotes, bullet lists, pictures, different fonts, scotch, I could go on. I do sometimes have issues with the cursor jumping around when I’m typing & replacing what I type with an apostrophe. Can’t figure out why that happens. ✓ Good design and functionality ..but keeps freezingReally like the functionality in this app and that it allows hand written notes as well as typed. However my journaling is being hampered by the app constantly freezing. Happened 5 times today alone so far. I prefer to hand write my notes using Apple Pencil and that seems to be the issue. The only way to move past that is to swipe the app away and restart. Hope it becomes more stable in the future as it seems a great app..Version: 2.5
✓ A very good journaling appBeen using DayOne since.. day one! But not happy with the high price of their subscription model, or subscription models in general! This app has most of the features of DayOne and surprisingly one or two of those features are implemented better in this GoJournal! Some nice formatting features and good job on not repeating the date and day on every single entry in list view as DayOne has done - it made it difficult to see individuals days (groups) of entries. I would say this app needs a time stamp to be visible on the entires and also in list view. Looking forward to new features! Pricing model - Superb!.Version: 2.5

If there was one complaint I’d say let us have the option to get rid of all the inspirational quotes and leave it tailored to the user. It’s actually quite annoying to anyone who doesn’t want them. ✓ Love it but would really love to see this one feature!!Its my 2 week anniversary since using this app and I love it. I love everything about it! The only concerns I have are 3: 1. Emojis: Idk why but when I log an entry on my phone and use emojis it always leaves this huge space between the emoji and the next word. I've figured out that I need to use a period and then go back and delete it before it looks normal. Could be my phone maybe? 2. Please create some type of tip jar to help support! The one time payment was a very good price I might say and would be sad to have it changed. 3. Maybe it already does but I haven't used it long enough: but a memories feature! Kinda like Day One and Facebook where we get notifs for previous entries from that day! ✓ The new version is awesome!I updated to GoJournal for the simple reason that I like adding a journal entry easily, quickly and according to date and categories. This is a keeper and I am using it often. I highly recommend. Unlike just notes this attaches notes to dates which is easy to find. Update: still my go to. It is incredibly simple and helpful. Had a small bug, the support team responded quickly and it was resolved with an update. Also, on the journal side, I appreciate the pro version without subscription costs.
