Logic Pro for iPad for Positive User Reviews

Awesome travel companionWent on a short vacay with this for a month. Amazing! Got a tonne done and can continue on my home mac. Love the inexpensive rental..Version: 1.0

Presque parfait!

The best iPad DAW for meLast year I switched to making music on the iPad because I found I was more productive on it. For each project, however, I had to choose one of four DAWs depending on what limitations I was willing to live with for that project. But Logic has all the features that are most important to me. Things that would make it better: MIDI export. Export regions. UI for the plug-ins that are currently playback only. Ability to write or import MIDI scripts without needing the Mac version of Logic. Easier management of takes than having to pull up a menu and submenu for each operation..Version: 1.0

Very solid startI’m a recording artist, producer, and engineer who has used logic on desktop for a decade. Overall I am thoroughly impressed with logic on the iPad. I love sliding around audio with my finger or creating eq curves by a touch. The stock sounds are truly impressive. My only two complaints thus far is I wish it had the ability to load a saved chain/template. For someone who records vocals I hate having to re add in all my plugins one by one instead of just loading up a saved channel strip. Also I wish it had the ability to choose parts of different takes like I can on the desktop version. It’s a bit tedious having to slice the audio then pick different takes as opposed to the slider on desktop to merge different takes. Also with my interface I notice a slight delay even on the fastest sample rate when recording with effects. Wish the m1 I’m sure the issues will be resolved in the near future and once they are I can record exclusively on my iPad. Great job.Version: 1.0

Brilliant! A Dream Come True!!!For the joy of music. This is truly a dream come true for me. I am all about the experience when it comes to making music. This is tech that intuitively does the job without breaking my groove or taking my focus away from the creative process. I have waited a long time for this and I am very grateful for the good people at Apple that have poured their passion into this creative tool for musicians. Your contribution matters in this world. Keep up the good work!.Version: 1.0

Great app, not sure about subscriptionGreat app, and good to know it’s finally on the iPad however it would be nice for people who have bought the Mac app prior could get this for free..Version: 1.0

Seems Alright, but it isn’t ready for prime timeOnly accepts iPad AU plugins, which is fine, but it is really frustrating that this can’t scale to full screen when docked with a computer. It would be nice to get a little bit more real estate with a computer screen without and use the full screen. It seems like an unnecessary bottleneck to a creative process. I’d stick with the Mac one if that bugs you, otherwise it is not bad, and is much better than any other iPad DAW as far as I can tell, but still, with the power the iPads have now, I didn’t expect these unnecessary limitations..Version: 1.0

FinallyBeen waiting years for this moment.Version: 1.0

WE NEED NOTESMost of my lyrics are on the notes of projects. Where are the notes?.Version: 1.0

StunningI’m writing this is reply to some of the reviews. One even called it bloatware and refuses to even try it! Amazing. Truth. Apple haven’t charged a single dime/penny for one update on Logic for Desktop ever. We’ve been spoilt. Now the iOS version which complements the desktop version beautifully. Utilising touch is magical and Logic Pro for IPad feels more like an instrument than a DAW. The subscription model is a small price to pay for something so good. You don’t like paying monthly, pay annually. Four years payment will be equal to the one payment for the desktop version. Subscription means constant development and improvement. Please people stop looking at the price and see the value. It’s amazing now and will become even more so..Version: 1.0

A Good Start (from a 25yrs experience veteran)The downsides are the lack of global MIDI learn, no manual saving, a few bugs with stuck MIDI notes and automation and of course the subscription model. The upsides is it’s the most fun music making tool I’ve used since I started on Music 2000 for PlayStation and Fruity Loops 3 many many years ago. It’s quick, intuitive, powerful and very logical. I’d never thought it would be possible to have so much production power in a tiny, silent lightweight device, and I’m incredibly happy this exists! With just a couple of updates it will be near perfect I think..Version: 1.0

A Pretty Good Version 1Been using this since its release and think it’s a good start, overall. It took a little while to get used to the interface but it soon became second nature. There’s a lot to like in here. The mixing options are excellent, with decent routing and built in processing. Sample alchemy is excellent at creating ambient textures from found sounds and it’s also really easy to slice samples. The one thing it’s really lacking, from my perspective, is full editing of the sampler and Alchemy. There’s no real excuse for this. It is meant to be a pro app, after all. Hopefully, they’ll give those of us that want to design sounds the option of doing so, when the first update comes around..Version: 1.0

FINALLY !!!About time! Thank you!.Version: 1.0

Using Logic Pro on an iPad Pro with multitouch will be revolutionary!I’ve been waiting for software tools to catch up with my musicality capabilities, as a trained classical pianist, and the iPad Pro is the perfect device to make use of Logic Pro’s workflow and user interface. I like that Logic Pro is already outfitted with my existing plugins, and that the app’s layout is familiar, given the macOS version, as reference, in former years. Thanks for making this app!.Version: 1.0

Exceeded my expectationsApple have done a wonderful job transferring this app to the iPad. I have never felt so comfortable working with such a fully featured DAW. Everything is logically laid out without lots of confusing menus and sub menus getting in the way. It really is a pleasure to use. They still need to work on the interfaces for the built in plugins which can be an endless list of knobs and sliders, but I’m confident this will be improved. For the first time on this platform I don’t feel frustrated by the limitations of the software I’m using and it already has more functionality than I need. This has really raised the bar I what can be done on an iPad..Version: 1.0

Game over for most iOS competitorsWhich is not entirely a positive thing perhaps but really, aside from a few launch glitches, this thing raises the bar verrrry high indeed.Version: 1.0

Audio and iPad should mix betterI wanted to like this. I love the idea of recording onto iPad. It eliminates the need for a computer and the numerous latency and other complicated issues that come with it. Unfortunately, it didn’t end up working out due to my tc electronic go twin interface seemingly biting the dust after less than a year of use. If you’re listening Apple, forget all the midi implementation and drum sequencing. I just need something that records audio, is multitrack, and outputs a wav file. Equalization and compression are just bonuses that come along for the ride. I don’t need anything else, and I certainly don’t want to use a computer, when it should (and does) work better for iPad. I don’t blame Apple for the interface issue, but it’s time to figure out a usb a to lightning solution that goes beyond just cameras, as I also have a behringer uphoria umc1820, which has its own power supply. Perhaps the usb c iPads handle this better. I don’t know, mine is lightning. I wanted this to work so badly. It just didn’t..Version: 1.0

Great start but many things to doThanks for finally get logic to iPad! It’s really great but there is already some things that I personally missed: 1) master volume slider at the top (even GarageBand has it) it’s inconvenient to change device volume with physical buttons 2) adding text notes - simple thing to implement and really helpful so that I should not switch between Notes app and logic 3) missing Score view in midi regions - in desktop it was very helpful 4) Surround and Atmos support((( - almost all of my desktop projects came with atmos and surround and I can’t open them on iPad at all… And I really want to make new songs in atmos on iPad 5) Comping for audio - yes I can manage takes some way but comping will be much MUCH easier 6) For some synths interface is overloaded with too many knobs and sliders that don’t distinct one from another 7) MPE midi parameters editing - now its only simple volume etc but not slide glide after touch and so on Thanks again for great app! Definitely subscribe and hope to see more sounds and functionality in future.Version: 1.0

MasterpieceIt’s a pro level DAW for iPad, but dig deeper and it’s so much more. The synths, samples and effects are amazing. The GUI is so cleverly thought out that it’s a pleasure to use. Clearly designed by people that care about things being done right. Learning Logic Pro on iPad is like a series of ‘wouldn’t it be cool if it did that…. Oh it does!’ moments. So many nice touches to aid usability. The end result goes way beyond a DAW, it’s a deep musical world that I just want to dive into at every opportunity…. Where the tools just invite creativity to bloom and play. And it’s only going to get better over time. I’m so excited to have this amazing software on my iPad!.Version: 1.0

By far the best DAWSo obviously, being version 1, there are still a few things to go to make this a complete success, especially support for 3rd party controllers such as Novation Launchpad pro etc as on the Mac version, but this is by far the most comprehensive DAW available for the iPad, with a good workflow and some great creative tools. I can’t wait to see how it develops over the years, and in my mind, the subscription process is not such a drama as many are making out. Being able to choose when to use it throughout the year if you need, or a small sub each year is not a big deal, especially with this much power under the hood of a supremely mobile music creation app..Version: 1.0

Game Changer!I’m an audio engineer and a Logic Pro lifer. I use Logic Pro everyday and I took the news of this release with a healthy dose of skepticism. I wasn’t immediately sure how the user interface would translate and had my doubts about a DAW in an iPad. Fifteen minutes of poking around the app and those doubts have been put to rest. This thing is amazing! Automation is an absolute breeze ( especially with a stylus). Surgical cuts and leveling can be a bear to do with a mouse or a trackpad. The ability to physically draw your automation curve is a massive time saver and I got some great natural sounding results in short order. This is a legit DAW in an iPad. Meaning we can have access to a studio anywhere you can hold a tablet. This opens up a great many exciting creative avenues and will be a welcomed addition to my toolbox. Thank You!.Version: 1.0

I love it read this developersI love this app is amazing but there are some things to be improved in order to pay monthly like more sounds presets, I don’t care too much about samples because I can add my samples through files but we need more sounds for alchemy. Please add more sounds presets like those in Spire by Reveal Sound and Serum. Please add a multiband compressor for mastering like Sonible plugins or the multiband like Fabfilter. Also if you can make it more easy to copy and paste, maybe if you can hold with one finger and drop a sample with the other finger so you can clone or copy paste a sample that would be amazing. Other than that the app is great and I love that is doesn’t load CPU that much as my MacBook. But please give us more sounds presets I would even pay more for membership.Version: 1.0

Absolutely Amazing!I’m surprised there are no reviews for this yet! BeatMaker 3 was one of my favourite music production tools, but Logic Pro for iPad takes things to another level. Absolutely incredible DAW on iPad. I’m so grateful this exists. If you are on the fence, you can try for a month for free. I’m completely sold anyway! 😀.Version: 1.0

Good job!Good work making this app work so well.Version: 1.0

It’s finally hereWe’ve all dreamed of the day Logic Pro would come to iPad and it’s finally here. All the features and plugins are included except Flex Pitch unless I’m overlooking it. If you’re a seasoned Logic Pro user then learning the new iPad interface will be a breeze to learn. I had it down in a few hours thanks to all of the included in app tutorials. I’ve already recorded a few songs on my iPad and I’m excited to see what the future holds for this amazing app..Version: 1.0

You guys did it🔥🔥🔥🔥It’s a new program, it has its bugs but the functionality and workflow is unrivaled, sound is incredible, loading au3 and custom drum samples is remarkably fluid. Freeze option to save resources and samples match tempo. There’s a few glitches with note repeat viewing and the subscription is less desirable but if library expands to high quality instruments and collaborations with companies like NI and such, it could be worth it. Definitely the best DAW on iPad. Great work 🍾🍸.Version: 1.0

Changed My MindI initially wasn’t a fan but after I was able to spend some time with the program I came to a different conclusion and love it. I subscribed in order to delve deeper into a complex program. Despite the steep learning curve my creativity has been sparked. I’m spending. Ore time creating now than I have in awhile. The wonderful recent update quelled my suspicions about Apple not doing much to support the program going forward. So I’m a fan!.Version: 1.1

Logic Pro4/8/2023 - I don’t get why searching text in the downloadable Logic Pro for IPad PDF documentation crashes the PDF viewer used in the Files App. What do reckon? The issue happens only with the Logic Pro for IPad PDF documentation. Apart from that, The application is capable of being used in a lot of ways to make music just like garage band. You can use it like a full fledge recording studio app or a simple looping type app or step sequencing app. It’s very extensive in its implementation compared to garage band, it has to be seen to be believed. It would take me ages to try an explain its best features. It seems fully automate able. You can create weird music machines with it. It recovers really well from crashes, you normally just lose one or two edits as it gives you the option to load your project’s last state save before a crash or load the project you last used in a previous session. Obviously, the pricing is controversial and I get it. I don’t want to be coming back in 4/8/2024 and start complaining about bugs so I get it..Version: 1.0

Home RunI have wanted this for many years, but was skeptical that it could actually work. The geniuses who implemented the core concepts of how this works must have spent thousands of hours getting it just right. I am no longer a skeptic, this works perfectly, is beautiful, and makes me want to carry my iPad everywhere I go again just like when it first came out. Today I imported a heavy rock song I’d written five years ago, which has just about every trick in the Logic book and 40 plus tracks. Within ten minutes I had figured enough out to begin working and creating in this ingenious interface. Amazing work Logic Team!.Version: 1.0

Great DAW But Missing MIDI ExportUnless I’m mistaken, and correct me if I am, there is no midi export. This drives me nuts since you can’t in GarageBand as well. Why create an almost full featured DAW in iOS, and then you don’t add midi export? This would make my review a full 5 stars if midi export was added. Also it has a hard time exporting a track without crashing if one has a few audio FX added to tracks. Freezing tracks isn’t the best way to export every time if one wishes to use several FX chains..Version: 1.0.1

Super powerful, more pro apps please Apple!I love how powerful this is and how smoothly it runs on my M1 iPad Pro! I have been using it the last couple days for all my projects and it is integrating rather seamlessly into my process. I like being able to manipulate elements of the UI with touch and the Apple Pencil but Also connect my mouse and keyboard for traditional editing workflows! I haven’t found much I don’t like but if I do Ill update this review..Version: 1.0

If subscription is bad, one-off purchases are unsustainable?I am an avid user of GarageBand. I had heard this application derided many times as a mere ‘toy’, and finally after struggling with Steinberg’s Cubase (9.5 maybe?) on a PC, getting nowhere, I felt the urge to try the heavily-derided GarageBand. Mainly, the amount of derision was so great, it made me curious - because many users support and explain to newbies how to achieve songs, make music etc, and I see GB is an ‘island’ of sorts, but it’s very capable of making music and for me, democratised the whole endeavour… …leading me to obtain Logic Pro for iPad. Finally aware of the limitations of the GB on hardware (you need 75Gb free SSD, or you get problems, etc) I had already bought a used M1 iPad Pro simply for GB, with all possible specs. I was ready for the thing everyone says is called ‘GarageBand Pro’ really! But it never appeared, instead there is subscription-based Logic Pro. I used this Logic Pro only briefly, I expect maybe to do some final production on it, and I do not possess, and will probably never buy, a Mac-class computer. Cubase on the PC intimidated me, and I didn’t realise I was missing some bits of kit (audio interface etc) to have a chance of making it work, but it’s fine, it wasn’t for me. It’s good many users from Mac-class devices have weighed-in with what’s wrong or short of the mark, with Logic Pro, I appreciate that because I don’t know! But I can speak about subscription versus buying - it’s a little of a false or illusory difference. In reality, as I look at maybe any ‘small-dev synth’ like Mela as a very good synth and a good example, the dev has to keep naming a ‘version 3’ or 4, etc, and price it anew, in order to stay in business, and Mela’s really nice synth, I have 2 and 3. Is there really much difference, paying subscription, compared to ‘making’ the dev rebadge as V2, V3 and charge afresh for it, is my question? We all know Apple’s hardware has subsidised their software, and as a package deal this overall must work, or everyone would create on clunky PC computers instead. There’s a cost per year or per month you could work out for all the music apps you got over the years, and so with subs, it’s really about the level of that cost. Thus for me, for a ‘big’ package like Logic Pro that I would not be able to buy or use on a Mac-class device because I’m not getting one (!), launching on an iPad Pro M1 I actually possess, is fantastic. Just my take. To not be charged subs, means the dev buries the costs somewhere else, that’s all. Take care all, make music not war..Version: 1.0

Best daw for I padI was hoping to get Logic Pro on a Mac for about 6 to 7 months before this came out and it’s everything I hoped it to be it is an amazing daw and it’s also really nice being able to touch knobs faders and having a mixer on hand and also being able to use plug ins and also having 15 gb of sounds is amazing also the only bad things I have to say is that it sometimes randomly quits and that I have to go out of the project to name it apart from that it’s an amazing daw..Version: 1.0

A Turning Point for Music Production on iPadLogic Pro at version 1.0 is a terrific starting point for a real “pro” DAW on iPad, and I think it reflects that the music software market for iPad is ready to go to the next level. One star deduction because there are some noticeable gaps between Logic Pro for iPad and really any desktop-grade DAW. Some of these gaps are down to limitations at the OS level, some due to the inevitable “90% complete” nature of a 1.0 release, and some that are hard to understand. For example, file handling is obtuse and difficult to work with, with no concept of “Save as…” or versioning or template functionality. It’s easy to inadvertently lose or damage existing work. That said I think Apple has a solid foundation here and I’m hopeful we’ll see improvements at a regular cadence..Version: 1.0

Garage band proIt’s great, more like Garage band Pro than Logic. Ignore everyone who’s complaining about the subscription model, that isn’t a reason to give it one star. They need to add a proper wave editor and the strip silence function though. Oh, and it does midi out fine no problem, another review here says there is no midi out which is false, i am running two synths and a drum machine via midi over usb all stable no issues..Version: 1.0

Add more guitar soundsThis app desperately needs more options for guitar instead of classic acoustic, acoustic guitar and hard rock. Like seriously? the real Logic Pro has tons of sounds in its library, and this has like three and then some other crappy sound patches. I just tried out BandLab, and they have more library options, but their app is glitchy and so I have to come back to this one. PLEASE add more interesting and real like sounds to ALL instruments!!.Version: 1.0.1

I love where this is goingGreat app and is taking things forward for the iPad community! A few feature requests: Flex Pitch, Inter-App Audio access, Drum Replacement/Doubling, Score window, Audio Edit Window on par with desktop version, Cycle-recording Comp feature to create quick comps. Last but not least, we’d like the ability to buy this outright instead of subscribing. Pro users should get a lifetime license IMO. Awesome job Team!.Version: 1.0

Amazing debut! This is one of the cleanest first versions I’ve seen in a while. The feature set, interface optimization and overall user experience is just awesome. With logic you get synths, amps, drum machines, professional audio plugins and everything you need for musical creation on your iPad, how cool is that? I would love to see flex pitch in a future update.Version: 1.0

Great but no MIDI learn or template filesA little surprised by this omission for what is blatantly a pro app. Hope this gets remedied soon as this is a big part of a lot of producer’s workflow..Version: 1.0

It’s great but….I think they did a really good job porting Logic to iPad and I find it quite enjoyable to use ,even more so than the Mac version, which I don’t actually use all that much as I mostly use Fl studio. The new plugins Beat breaker and sample alchemy are awesome too. I’ll probably end up subscribing but like others,I don’t like the subscription model, especially since I own it on Mac. I think a perpetual license option would really be nice plus some sort of discount for people who already bought the Mac version. Same with Final Cut.Version: 1.0

Logic Mobile is Too Powerful for my deviceAlthough Logic has a lot more settings and instruments than GarageBand, when I loaded less than 30 instruments in my project, a message that said “CPU Overload” kept me from being able to play my song. I have an iPad Air 4th gen. With a decent amount of storage, so I thought I wouldn’t have too many problems, but I think the effects and settings I can add to my instruments were too much for my iPad to handle. This is just what I have been experiencing, and I’m not exactly sure what the issue is. However, if I wonder if anyone else has been experiencing the same thing as me. I think I’m going to reach out to Apple to see if there is any solution for this reoccurring problem. BUT OVERALL LOGIC PRO MOBILE IS AWESOME.Version: 1.0

Love to see itI think it’s wonderful this app has finally been brought to iPad and I like that it’s not a one-to-one clone of the desktop version but more thought out for a touch interface. The layout isn’t necessarily intuitive but it’s pretty fast to figure out and the included lessons are great. Sure, it’s still missing a few things (please bring Flex Pitch soon 🤞) but for a v1 I’m extremely satisfied and hope that this brings more attention, innovation, and competition to iOS music production from plugin vendors and other DAWs. As for the subscription—I like it. I think the monthly pricing makes some of the more advanced Logic Pro features more accessible to people who want to track ideas and explore their musical side but don’t necessarily have the resources for a large upfront investment. If my kid is serious about wanting to get into music production, I’m a lot more likely to pay $5 for a couple months on the iPad she already has than I am to buy her a MacBook Pro, Logic Pro X, and all the hardware and plugins that she’ll inevitably want for a hobby that might not stick. Bottom line, I think it’s a great value for the initial feature set and I can’t wait to see where we go from here..Version: 1.0

ImpressiveI’ve been using an iPad Pro since 2015. The killer app used to be Notion iOS, then AudioBus, AUM, Cubasis, StaffPad and Dorico. Now Logic for iPad is here and it’s good. Very good. Unlike Dorico for iPad, Logic isn’t an exact clone, (neither is Dorico really), but it has most of the features one needs on a day to day basis. Advanced features such as the Environment, Movie import and SMPTE syncing (among others), are saved for the MacOS version only, but I wouldn’t expect those to be here anyway, (although I could see movie import added someday). Pros: Mixer AUv3 instruments Keyboard Preset Browser Built-in instruments and plugins Cons: (not many) Vertical zooming for tracks (although windows have zooming and full screen zoom. Welcome to the iPad Logic!.Version: 1.0

Really well done app…but not for desktop replacementHate the subscription model, but that seems to be the way with a lot of apps and services, not just this one. Managing subscription creep just a fact of life these days… The app itself is very well designed, intuitive, and feature rich. Not a port of the desktop program, but a native iPad app in and of itself. A serious DAW, not a casual app. Certainly capable of producing complete professional projects. Maybe the best DAW on iPad? But not for those heavily invested in the desktop version IMHO. Notably missing: swipe comping, arrangement track, and Flex Pitch, probably other features as well. 3rd party auv3 limited to those offered on the App Store only. Templates awkward to save and use due to auto save overwriting your original template on the fly - have to duplicate a template project before using it or it’s lost - this is a universal iPadOS thing, not a problem to this specific app, but it makes for an awkward workflow. Everyone has different workflows, needs, style, and of course existing hardware, so I wouldn’t say “get it” or “avoid it”. For someone just getting into serious music production, and/or who wants to go all-iPad and portable, this is probably the way to go. For someone already immersed in the Logic desktop world, it’s probably best avoided-go with a MacBook with Logic desktop if it’s just portability you want. This review written after downloading and playing with the app for a few weeks under the free trial period (wish more app developers would let you try before you buy)..Version: 1.0

Incredible at lastIt’s been a long wait, but was worth it. The depth and breadth that’s delivered here is staggering and it all works well on my iPad mini 6 so super portable! I think Apple have (as you’d hope) done a remarkable job with the touch UI and pencil and I can’t think of anything equivalent out there that works nearly as well and without crashing every 10 minutes. Looking forward to full remote midi / Mackie control and also being able to use Logic Remote from a second cheap iPad to control the mixer would reduce all the window jumping. I think it’s worth pointing out that the stock sounds and synths are really good and seem to use very little resources. Audio Units seem to work well too. I also love Loopy Pro so would be amazing if this worked properly - at the moment it seems you can get audio into Loopy running as an AU instrument via the side chain, but you can’t get the multiple outputs even using the hacks that I’ve seen on YouTube which do work with multi out synths...Version: 1.0

Great startSure, there are some features that aren’t supported yet. But this is changing my mobile workflow for the better and I can’t wait to see what is coming in the future. Yeah, not a huge fan of the subscription model. But…it means more and more development for this app. And for that I’m okay chipping in each month/year. Game changer!.Version: 1.0

AmazingNot that Apple really needs praise here, but they’ve really knocked it out of the park with Logic Pro for iPad - and this is only the first release. It doesn’t have EVERYTHING from the desktop version, but I think for most folks there’s more than enough here. If you’re already a GarageBand on iPad user and you’re starting to hit walls this is where you want to head. I’ve used many iOS/iPadOS and desktop DAWs over many, many years and the feeling I’m getting when using Logic Pro for iPad is the same feeling as when I first started using Reason. It took a good day or two to really wrap my head around the UI (it’s QUITE different from GarageBand on mobile) but once you do it’s like opening this amazing treasure chest of tools. There’s so many ways to string together instruments and effects chains. When I put a drummer track on a Drum Machine Designer instrument channel the first time it kind of blew my mind (maybe this always worked on Logic for Mac? I don’t know, never used it). You really get the best of all worlds here - flexible MidiFX, a time line, great audio editing, full AUv3 instrument and effect automation. It’s got the playfulness of AUM with the familiarity of a DAW with a timeline. And this is just the beginning….Version: 1.0

PhenomenalAmazed at the responsiveness and wealth of incredible resources at your fingertips. Incredibly intuitive and well thought out. Bravo Apple!.Version: 1.0

Amazing, but…Will this subsription cover all platforms? Apple should lead by example here and make the license cross its own platforms. App is fantastic and I am looking forward to getting the plug-in tiles on the Mac version..Version: 1.0

A MASTER CLASS IN TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENTThe technical depth Apple engineers have achieved with this cleverly marketed subscription model DAW is simply stunning and raises the bar to an almost unattainable height for all other contenders on this platform. The beautiful touch interface is a joy to use with layer after layer of carefully designed utilities, menus and graphical interfaces to take full advantage of touch input albeit finger or pencil. There are a bunch of superlatives that can be directed at Logic Pro iPad to describe the immense feeling of satisfaction and unbelievable achievement by Apple engineers in bringing such a high spec and advanced featured DAW to the IPad. The seamless integration of my external audio interfaces, multiple keyboards and other gear has made using Logic Pro a breeze. How does it compare to Logic Pro on desktop? That will always be a subjective response based on individual experiences and expectations and what features an individual requires but my personal opinion as a gigging musician with a well equipped studio, this comes pretty damn close. This impressive porting of Logic Pro on desktop to the iPad is a stroke of genius by Apple and will attract many traditional desktop users purely because of the beautiful touch interface, portability and high spec features. This is version 1 and expectations are that Apple engineers will deliver updates on a regular basis on the back of this cleverly marketed subscription model. Disappointingly there are a number of negative reviews based purely on selfish desktop users thinking Apple owe them lifetime free support on all Logic Pro versions. Get real. Logic Pro for iPad is primarily for iPad users who for many years have been asking Apple to bring a professional DAW to this platform. Fortunately these selfish and unrelated to performance reviews will disappear once these users fail to subscribe..Version: 1.0

Fantastic....but I won't be buying itThis is a wonderful application of a desktop DAW that I have used for years. However, I won't be buying it because I hate the whole subscription model which Adobe started way back when. I am perfectly happy to pay a substantial sum up front to own the software and then pay for upgrades if I want them. But the idea that I am locked into a perpetual subscription model, where all of my projects suddenly stop working if the subscription lapses......no thanks. I'm disappointed that Apple have gone down this route after offering the desktop versions for very reasonable sums. Please reconsider..Version: 1.0

Can’t update Logic ProUsually when coming to the App Store when you click on an app, it either says get open or update. I do not have any option for updating Logic Pro for iPad. It only shows open and update does not happen. How do I get my paid subscription for logic, pro for iPad to update to the newest version? Please help..Version: 1.0.1

GreatBut there is a small fee.Version: 1.0

Inter-App support pls!Not bad as a 1st release. But improvements and updates need to be made to make me wanna renew the subscription. Also i’d like to see support for Inter-App instruments. While Auv3 is the present and the future, can’t ignore that some of the best instruments of the previous years are Inter-App and it frustrates me that I can’t use them in Logic..Version: 1.0
