Logic Pro for iPad for Negative User Reviews

SubscriptionI downloaded this fully expecting to be able to link my MacOS version of Logic Pro to this iPad version, but instead it has a money-hungry subscription system which doesn’t even automatically sync my projects on a cloud. Seems like it would be extremely useful, but instead my expectations were compressed into a ball of disappointment. I expected Apple to know what a good workflow is, but clearly I was wrong. If it did work as I described, I can guarantee it would have boosted sales of Logic Pro by a lot (which would make you around as much money as the subscription service would in 4 entire years.) Apple has enough money, might as well make their products actually convenient and not miserably overpriced. Would not recommend..Version: 1.0

Paying for making music? Why do you have to pay to make music at least there's a free trial but still..Version: 1.0

Terrible AppI can’t do anything unless I pay an expensive subscription!!!😡😤🤬😖😠👿😾 If I were you I wouldn’t download this app! !!!GARAGE BAND IS MUCH BETTER!!!.Version: 1.0.1

Was very excited, Now highly disappointedSelecting regions, cutting & pasting, cross fading basic tasks like that will have you importing, exporting and trying all sorts of ideas out just to execute that basic task. Really cumbersome, time wasting and missing tools / settings. Not to mention the subscription? What a joke. Pay 200 for a ten year desktop program, but still have to pay $50 yr for this garbage. Nope. Not even worth it to scratch up a basic beat. Free GarageBand can do what this does, minus the plugins. But wait, those same plugins from the desktop DONT WORK. You can’t even import your desktop projects because of many discrepancies. Projects must be dumbed down to basic parameters to work with this app. No surround, etc..Version: 1.0

Why no Midi Export? Please include a full Midi Export feature. I find hard to understand why this is not included, nearly all DAWs have this basic feature included let alone one that is advertised as “Pro”. Disappointing..Version: 1.0

Needs improvement to workWorked well 3 times on XR18 then fails to recognise all associated channels input signals XR18 , 4 and 8 channel Presonus interfaces not working. Except 2 channel usb powered presonus interface.....works perfectly. Useless for anything else. Too hasty for release perhaps?.Version: 1.0

No compatibility with Atom 2 or Pure PianoThis app has the potential to become to premier DAW on iPad. And I would want to make this my exclusive platform paying my subscription year round while I create music on Logic Pro for iPad. However there is either no compatibility with Pure Piano or Atom 2 or I don’t know how to load them into Logic Pro yet. Atom 2 is the best and most robust piano roll midi-editor on iPad and Pure Piano is the best piano simulator. I want to create a track where Pure Piano is the audio unit and then start another midi track where Atom 2 can be launched and send to Pure Piano. I can do this in other DAWs on iPad and that compatibility would put this DAW over the top. If an update can be made to accommodate my fav AUv3s or I can be shown how to load them I will gladly change my rating to 5 stars..Version: 1.0

Works great til it starts screwing with filesI’ve been getting on fine with logic for the last couple of months til tonight when it decided to crash and chew up half a track without warning. Thankfully I’d duplicated a couple of hours prior and it hasn’t effed that too! Be warned it saves EVERYTHING to cloud and it AUTOSAVES so once something is screwed it’s screwed. Apple please think about this more, no artist in their right mind wants an unrevertable project. At the moment this is so close to being amazing but janky stuff like this from you guys is inexcusable..Version: 1.0

Subscription only?!?I find it ridiculous that I have the $400 app on my Mac and still need to pay to use it on my iPad. This should be free for owners of the desktop app, like come on!.Version: 1.0

Update? So many things to love about this launch and so many flaws. Hopefully an update will be coming soon? Not having an “Arrange” feature was a major disappointment. GarageBand has a minimal song arrangement which is better than none. Also the drummers are not as easy to edit compared to GarageBand. In GB you can edit independent regions, in Logic it changes the entire selection. Saving feature has been the mixer. Hope they do a serious overhaul..Version: 1.0

Incomplete appIf this app was as good as the desktop app then I would use it. I bought an iPad maxed it out thinking decent things were coming our way I was wrong and I feel I wasted money doing so ! I also won’t pay for an app I already own and most software licenses allow you to run it on at least 2 computers. I’m sorry but Steve Jobs would have not released this incomplete app and then tried to charge for it . I’ve been an Apple user educator and worked extensively in design film and audio for 40 years this is unacceptable behaviour for a company who based their Motto on “ for the rest of us ‘ not very innovative cmon apple you’re losing us.Version: 1.0

Why charge customers who have already purchased Logic ProGood but unfortunately charging customers who have already purchased Logic Pro.Version: 1.0

I won’t be changing from CubasisIt didn’t take long during the free trial to work out that this cut-down version of Logic isn’t worth the price. In fact, the pricing imo is extortionate for what is on offer. Other better-developed DAWs exist for iPad and can be outright purchased for the price of a one year subscription to Logic. Maybe Logic users on Macs will think it’s worth having a cut down iPad version… but I think they’ll just see it as another rip-off.Version: 1.0

FINALLY!As a pro musician with +20 years experience, I can say this is promising! As oppose as all the moaners and whiners and cheap tightwads, I have no problem with either the quality of the product or the modest subscription. The desktop version of this app is £200, so would I pay £5 a few times a year for the next 5 years, or fork out £200 in one go? Duh. I'd rather pay £5 now, I don't hold the future in my hand. The cheap whiners who moan about the subscription, would equally moan if Apple would have priced the product at £179.99. It's all quite reasonable. I am not tracking 365 days a year, and I take breaks after several weeks of work. In that case I would just stop the subscription and then subscribe again when I need to. Only niggle is that it is not perfect yet, my THU Overloud and Amplitube don't work with Logic ipad, which is disappointing. But Rhino does, and Tonex too. But I use THU and Amplitube more than all the others. This will hopefully be fixed soon. As for all else, I am pretty impressed, and the tutorials are excellent. The way I see it, this sits above Garageband, but below Logic Pro for the Mac. I am fine with this: I am a MUSICIAN, not a computer nerd or a mixing engineer. I get my tracks mixed by a mixing engineer. This is done cheaply enough on Fiverr etc. For me Garageband on Ipad didn't cut it, for one reason: it has no tempo track. Logic Ipad solves all these problems. And the number one reason that in my opinion the Apple DAWS, whether it's Garageband on Mac , Logic on Mac or on the Ipad, kill all the other ones, is this: the Logic Drummer! In my opinion the BEST drum machine ever created. In short: if you want to do everything that Garageband on Ipad could not do, but you still want a simpler and less complex Logic for Mac, then Logic for Ipad is PERFECT. Pro but not overly complicated and nerdy. Well, let's see a new barrage of great plug ins and additional instruments developers will make for this newcomer on the Ipad, the greatest tablet computer in the world! ---- one VERY IMPORTANT feature to add is something similar to hearing protection system found in REAPER by COCKOS : you can set a maximum output level in db that the mixing console can reach, after of which its output is instantly MUTED. As a a musician with tinnitus, this is probably THE one feature that is most valuable to me. Were it not for the Auto Drummer in either Garageband or Logic, I would only use Reaper, just for the excellent hearing protection system it has. I hope Apple will implement it in Logic Ipad! ---- on second thought, I detract two stars out of five because most of my apps don't work in logic. I'll change this to five stars when and if inter apps etc will work. For now, I have to continue all my current projects on GB on the Mac.Version: 1.0

Loyalty failWhere’s Apple’s loyalty to their clients who already spent thousands on iPads laptops and logic and Final Cut? I OWN Logic and I spent this money on products knowing I would be able to mix on my couch if I wanted to instead of locked in my studio…now you want to charge me again? The greed in unwelcome and frankly belittles you as a company. Thumbs down..Version: 1.0

UX design is fantastic, but MIDI editing behaviours are terribleThe touch interface is great, this is the first iPad DAW I’ve tried that doesn’t feel like 5 minute carpal tunnel syndrome. Love the Apple Pencil behaviours. Unfortunately, when recording per-note CCs from MPE instruments or even the built-in touch keyboard, the CCs are written to channel automation instead of note data. As a result, moving notes doesn’t move the associated CC data, and editing polyphonic recordings is deeply painful. Please consider following either of the MIDI 2.0 or MPE specs rather than reinventing the wheel..Version: 1.0

Forced subscription? You can’t even pay for the app unless you get into some sort of free trial. It seems like a bait and switch because they know you’re going to forget to unsubscribe and they don’t make it easy. They also don’t give you an option to purchase a license. You have to do subscription. Well, it’s terrible business model where you can’t serve all your customers. All of the ones that you can talk into giving monthly subscriptions up. Apple consider that people with autism/neurodivergent do get anxiety from subscriptions. There are scientific research papers on aversion of loss with neurodivergent people when you force time intervals with a financial loss. Do the right thing.Version: 1.0

Make it freeDo you really expect me to pay for something I am going to use once.Version: 1.0

SubscriptionWhy? I already paid for the full version. We’re tired of all these millions of subscriptions we pay for..Version: 1.0

Money grabbersWhy would you wanna charge more monies for a product that is substandard..Version: 1.0

Subscription Only, Immediate PassFor those more are both serious with their music, or keep it as a hobby, you’re better off buying Logic outright for $200 on Mac and continuing to use GarageBand on iOS.Version: 1.0

Functionality issues aboundLots of complaints here about missing features and, ridiculously, the subscription model. The price is the price. The biggest issues concern basic functionality. Moving regions is sometimes very difficult. Moving regions will sometimes create an additional identical region where the original region was. Selecting and then working with multiple regions is often an exercise in utter frustration. The icons for selecting and then working with multiple regions make no sense. The “handles” on regions block visibility, particularly against the black background. The toggle between “trim” and “loop” is un-intuitive. Why would anyone think those two concepts have any relationship to each other? Why even call something “trim” when it involves basic functionality that is much more than “trimming”? Part of Apple’s brilliance over the decades is the relationship between design and functionality. Products typically are designed to relate intimately to how people use the product in the real world. This, though, fails pretty badly on that score. The features, particularly new ones like “beat breaker” and “sample alchemy,” are really great. The experience is marred significantly, however, by weird design choices, odd labeling and impediments to work flow. Hopefully these things can be fixed..Version: 1.0

It’s everything GarageBand is, amped up, but…It’s not something I’d pay for continuously to use, sorry to say, I’ll take the trial to try it out. But if this were to have had a one time fee like $199.99 ofc I’d pay for it..Version: 1.0

Screen clutterCluttered screen , but found out something I didn’t know , you can control the iPad Logic Pro from a MacBook keyboard . It’s great that Logic Pro on iPad has midi Bluetooth support also. You can definitely lose yourself ( ego) whilst creating music in Logic Pro . For that it’s worth the subscription alone ..Version: 1.0

DisappointedWith the cost of the hardware we buy, I don’t expect Apple to choose a subscription model for Logic and Final Cut. Especially after already buying them on Mac. Appreciate that development here is new for the iPad environment, but I’m a definite no on this pricing model. Please rethink this Apple. I FEEL that my existing purchase should be replicated here, but I’d even consider an outright purchase again over a subscription model any day..Version: 1.0

Price shown is subscription for a yearI thought because of all the negative feedback Apple had changed the policy from the subscription model. However they’ve just changed the wording. £49 for a year or £4.99 a month.Version: 1.0

Apple Store doesn’t have sessionSo this app is good really good But your stealing peoples money for subscription on top of that Apple doesn’t even have sessions in the Apple Store to teach Logic Pro For the iPad So the people that don’t know how to use logic are screwed like me unless you come across somebody who can teach you from my experience I learnt garage band at Apple Store that started my producing journey by an apple creative so there needs to be sessions at apple if you’re charging a subscription in app tutorials are not gonna do it not everybody learns that way This app can take midi files which is so good ! Super surprised by that And yes if pay for the 400$ version on my Mac I want it also accessible On iPad the subscription should be removed it should be a one time pay if anything I’m trying to make music but your making it hard.Version: 1.0.1

Useful, but the initial version needs continuous upgradesUseful Ipad DAW, but the first version I downloaded felt like a starter version, that had a lot of missing features. I won't pay for a continuous subscription, as the app is really not useful enough to pay that much for it. After one year, I could buy a lot of music gear, withb the money saved by not paying for a monthly subscription. Apple is a mutibillion dollar company; the can do better than this..Version: 1.0

I really want to like this appI don’t know what is happenings, but playback and even exported audio have significant drops in Audio, I have no idea what is happening, but please fix this. Please incorporate Magic Keyboard shortcuts that are correlated to the mac version, and I agree with the other comments that I would be willing to pay $80-$100 one time rather than pay a subscription. I dropped Final Cut Pro for iPad to to DaVinci having more power and free for 80% of functionality or an easy one-time payment for a full video-editor. I hate to say it but as soon as a better daw comes out on iPad I will be switching; especially if I am paying a subscription. Shift the model and fix these bugs. I could not consider this a pro app if I was recording a client and their recorded audio kept dropping..Version: 1.0.1

There’s betterOut of Logic Pro for iPad and Cubasis 3, I believe you get more value for money with Cubasis. I’ve only had to pay Steinberg once, and I can’t remember ever using it? Did I get my value for money? No, but I don’t mind helping companies like that because it’s only a one time payment and I appreciate what they are trying to do. As for Logic on iPad, well honestly this app isn’t really that outstanding enough to justify a subscription and it’s definitely not game changing enough to justify it value for money when comparing it to other apps that are offered. I understand that a subscription policy is something that Apple pushes on developers, but it’s not something that I’m interested in participating in. Will, I recommend this app to anyone else? Nope, not unless it’s a one time payment. I will actually tell people to stay away from it!.Version: 1.0

Subscription is not the wayI have been a Logic Pro user since logic 8, and have always praised the software, despite a lot of my colleagues moving to ableton. But to now have to pay a subscription on top of the Logic Pro software i have already bought and I use daily on my studio Mac is not encouraging nor fair to your main target audience. This feels like your scaming your customers when other brands allow use of there apps in sync with their desktop software. I use my ipad as a controller for logic on my Mac and will continue to do so unless they make this a buy now app. Not worth the £50+ per year, this is like the Waves subscription model that instantly got rejected by industry pros. No thanks Apple, it seems I might move to a different software if this is the game you are playing..Version: 1.0

Thankfully, I don’t…… even need to give this greedy subscription based, apparently buggy, bloatware a try. 3rd party developers who charged a good & fair one off price made good enough apps & maintain them well enough without the “killer” pay per month model. Disgraceful IMHO. Even long term legitimate mac users arent happy. Says a lot… Although i see some are ok with it. Since they want to criticise us “tightwads” i would retort that they clearly have more money than sense..( or they have the privilege of writing off fees like this as “expenses” ) & claiming this model will “assure future advancement”is a terribly naive argument ( & if apple think subscribing is a good model how about letting us rent hardware for cheap rather than forking out £1000’s every year? Thought not ).Version: 1.0

Not very considerate towards MacOS logic usersWhy are logic users on Mac forced to pay a subscription to a sub-par version of a desktop application that is a one time payment? There is absolutely no point to this, you get 60% of the capability on GarageBand. Don’t waste your money..Version: 1.0

Compatibility is as bad as the interfaceAs someone who records and works on Mac Logic regularly, this is an extremely poor substitute. The majority of the time I cannot even open my files from logic based on timing or midi controllers/interface. It is a difficult program to navigate with no real advantages. This program actually made me dislike logic in general. Pay the money, get real Logic, this is a waste of time and money… also no one likes subscriptions! I’m not sure how this was cleared for release. It’s like the programming was outsourced to people who don’t understand the basic functionality of Logic. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.Version: 1.0

Another Subscription, no thanks.Already paid for the desktop version, not looking for another subscription..Version: 1.0

Calling This Logic Pro is IllogicalI knew it. I had a feeling that apple would take away the ability to use custom/3rd party soundfonts, AU’s not from the AppStore and they did it. You cannot even export MIDI from this app in the export menu. This app is great if you have a mac but if you don’t you are limited to what apple gives you with the sound library (which is also incomplete). This is a glorified version of garageband that costs you monthly. It’s nice to import existing Logic Pro files from a Mac but it is impossible to do what I do with the program on the iPad. This is from the “Sampler”: “ plug-in provides playback compatibility with Logic Pro for Mac projects. You can load presets for this plug-in, but parameter editing is only available when using Logic Pro for Mac.”.Version: 1.0

No thank you!WHY would Apple charge a subscription for this software? Even after paying for the desktop version of Logic I would consider paying a reasonable price for a functional mobile version, (remember when this would have been called a companion app?) but to charge a subscription is just ill advised. I’ve gone this long without having a mobile version of Logic so I’ll pass until Apple comes to their senses or something better comes along….Version: 1.0

GreedyCannot argue that the app is not a great addition to the iPad, however, Apple are getting more and more greedy. Subscription? Really? No thanks. Just give me a price, I’d pay it, probably. Then pay for upgrades that I think I need. This is just a ploy to lock you into their subscription so that you don’t lose your projects. GREEDY.Version: 1.0

Almost thereCan’t connect to iPhone microphone Can’t re order effects chain.Version: 1.0

Why do I need to repurchaseI have this already on my Mac why do I have to now pay for a subscription on iPad I think if you’ve bought it you should get the iPad version for free.Version: 1.0

I really want to love this…It crashes -all- the time. I’m using ToneStack pro that has AUv3 compatibility, but every time I press a key on my midi keyboard it immediately crashes ToneStack. Ive had this with other audio extensions too. I really want to love this product, and i hope they iron out the bugs soon….Version: 1.0

Lack of External MIDI Device PlaybackLogic Pro is hands down the best for Production/Editing/Recording. However, using Logic to run Live Playback is another popular use case. Many bands/artists are already using iOS devices for controlling their Mixers & IEM rigs. The fact that Logic Pro for iPad does not include the support for External MIDI Playback is a hard stop for many artists to use their iPad as their playback Source. Would love to see some updates that add useful features for Playback. The iPad is a wonderful tool in live music production, would love to see software features that support live performance. (An update to MainStage could also be great, add MIDI CC patch change support, DMX Light Programming).Version: 1.0

Losers at Apple After Buck Yet AgainTitle says it all. I won’t be using this app. That you think Logic is worth any type of subscription is beyond me, Apple. Logic was the first DAW I ever purchased and, at $200, I considered it a steal. I felt confident that, by moving forward with Apple, I would be working with a company that puts the artist first (I know, seems silly now). In retrospect, how could I expect a company so consumed by profit to actually step outside of the corporate norm? Remember, this is an entity so greedy that they intentionally designed their phones and products to fail, leading consumers to re-up, however premature. Any of the Fortune 500 would be just as happy to gouge our wallets. And what better model than ‘pay me endlessly if you want my product.’ Man, f*&^k these people who consistently rob the people that generate their wealth. Sorry Apple, I know you won’t miss my measly $50 a year but hopefully many more take this stance and steer clear of this evident corporate greed (downright robbery, if you ask me). FYI I’d happily pay a flat rate of $150 (this couldn’t be worth as much as desktop version) and be done with it..Version: 1.0

Launched Too SoonSeems featured complete, but isn’t. Major keyboard shortcuts like split and select all following are completely missing. Claims to do full round trips with the mac version, but simply won’t open projects with a time based timeline instead of notes. An impressive technical release that doesn’t yet work. It’s bad enough when a single payment app leaves fundamental parts of the app to be added back in - at least you pay once and eventually get what you paid for. With this new subscription approach, you are paying now but you have to pay again later to get an app that works. Wait for a later release and keep using Auria.Version: 1.0

Disappointing pricing, accessibility problemI was really excited to see this until I downloaded it. The price is $500 for 10 year usage, which is too much. It should be priced like Logic for Mac, FCP, and Motion, which have reasonable, one-time costs. That is the only reason I got Logic for Mac in the first place — otherwise I would have gone with something like FLStudio which is more expensive than Logic for Mac, but just a one-time expense. Their iPad app is only about $15 and they are a vastly smaller company than Apple. I’m already paying a subscription, because the software only works on Apple devices, so I have to buy more devices to keep using the software. Also, music software in general needs to pay more attention to accessibility. Dark mode can be extremely difficult or impossible to read for people with certain eye conditions, and this one is harder to read than on a Mac. Even though my device is set to light mode, the file browser opens in a dark mode that is more difficult to read than the desktop version. It’s too difficult to type out an explanation on an iPad, but Apple should bring in an accessibility expert and test the UIs with astigmatism. The situation keeps getting worse. A light mode would be ideal (for all apps)..Version: 1.0

Pay twice? Don’t think soOk so I bought Logic Pro for my MacBook for £200 so why should I have to pay for this app aswell.Version: 1.0

Trying to look at and download the Sound Packs. I get the Not connected to the Internet ErrorI was trying to look at the sound packs and it took me to the error screen Logic Pro is not connected to the internet. I’ve been getting this same error with Apple Music on my iPad forever and it makes it unusable. Everything else works just fine on my iPad. My connection is fine. The program itself is working fine. It records, etc. But as soon as I try to look at Sound Packs I get the error. Help would be nice. Since this is not just a Logic Pro error. I have an 2020 iPad Pro 12.9” 1 TB.Version: 1.0

Cash grab….Deleted immediately after opening and being prompted to purchase a subscription package. A one time purchase I could have considered but a subscription?! Are you insane Apple?? Y’all barely support garage band as it is, we’re lucky to see 2 new releases for garage band a year and you think the community is just going to fork over their money every month/year in the hopes that support and updates continue regularly. If I’m paying monthly I expect new content/product improvement monthly as well. Why would I continue to pay money if nothing has changed in the software of the app? I get so tired of companies wanting people to subscribe to products that get very little support/improvement. This app will be the same I’m sure, it’ll get somewhat regular updates until it’s considered stable and have just almost as many features as the Mac version but not ALL the features of course because as apple loves saying “it’s a iPad not a mac” because Apple totally didn’t harp on how powerful the new ipad pros are… so powerful yet Apple won’t let us take full advantage of its hardware… people should realize by now their iPhones and iPads are easily capable of running full fledged pc programs even console games, there’s no excuse for not providing the same functionality as the original computer version..Version: 1.0

Subscription service bad ideaI own Logic Pro on my MacBook Pro and just moved to the iPad to. I am really sick of the idea of companies bullying customers in to subscription only models. Look at what happened to Waves Audio and the stream of emails after they announced without consultation they were running a subscription only model, within days they had to retract their model, include the model but restore purchasing plugins and packages as perpetual licenses. I don’t agree with the idea of a subscription model for software I need to use but pushed in to paying annually or monthly for. I’m sorry Apple, I won’t be doing this. I will only purchase Logic Pro for the iPad and Final Cut as a perpetual license as then I’m covered for the software without extra monthly outgoings. The UK is going through cost of living crisis and although I have this iPad Pro, it’s due to selling off other equipment as this is a system for a blind musician and developer. Come on Apple, give customers the option of a perpetual license cost, that way customers can make their mind up as to whether subscribe or purchase a perpetual license. What if you don’t have access to the internet while using the software, you have to check the status of the subscription while it’s active and authenticate it. This shouldn’t happen.give us perpetual license options for Final Cut and Logic Pro, then I’ll purchase. I won’t entertain subscriptions for software..Version: 1.0

REMOVE THE SUBSCRIPTIONWhy is there a subscription?? PLEASE make it the same as the MacOS apps!.Version: 1.0

Please Fix this 😭I was so excited to use Logic Pro on my iPad, I’ve been waiting for this for a few years now. I plugged in my interface to record some audio and logic is not receiving any audio. My interface is powered and logic recognizes my interface and all of its inputs/outputs, but it will not receive any sound. My interface is receiving sound because I can see the green light on the gain knob. To make matters more confusing, I am able to get sound in other applications like voice memos and n track. I am also able to send audio from my iPad to my interface and out to my speakers. I am so frustrated and confused someone please help fix this issue..Version: 1.0

What Version, apprehensive?I’m only reserving my mid score of 3 stars because I am unable to find the version number of Logic Pro for iPad. Albeit I don’t agree with it, I understand the monthly subscription but “I ain’t cool with ya’ll telling us it’s for ongoing future developments without revealing a version number to signify and announce an update! Why?!!” All the other apps on here don’t hide it, why are ya’ll? Other than that, it seems pretty cool and powerful for an iPad app. I am happy with it somewhat but still, I like looking at version numbers to tell exactly what’s been done and how often they are being worked on and released. So far, my only gripe. Will upgrade my score when I see a bit more, starting with that version number..Version: 1.0

Subscription modelApp is 5 stars, but the subscription model kills it. People want to own what they pay for Apple and surely you have enough money at this point, please find your soul again..Version: 1.0

Swing and a miss… again….Let me make sure I understand. Pay full price to Have Logic Pro on a desktop. In order to “integrate” with that desktop software, I have to pay $50 a year to rent access to the Pro app I’ve already paid for. Then when I install the app and run it while my iPad is connected to a docking station that has an HDMI port… The app can run on the external screen… But NOT in full screen. A PRO app CAN NOT run in FULL SCREEN? And the better part Is that audio is routed through HDMI regardless of anything else… So when the screen does not have an audio port for speakers to connect to…. You CAN’T HEAR THE OUTPUT OF AN AUDIO APP…. It’s not like 12” iPad Pros have built in speakers, right? Do you have someone at Apple whose job requires them to come up with creative ways to enrage loyal customers? You charge for me to rent use of a Pro app… That doesn’t work full screen and doesn’t have a way to provide audio when an external screen is connected… Unless speakers are connect to that screen too? And this is “PRO”? Your developers conference better have the new version iPadOS getting some sort of audio routing control at the OS level… Who am I kidding? When has Apple ever listened, much less, to a customer? Luckily I can cancel this version of GrageBand Pro.Version: 1.0

Subsciption BasedSubscription based software, no thanks..Version: 1.0

App doesn't workDownloaded it and anytime I try to click anything it says "this operation cant be completed" I know it's release day but I'm hoping they fix this soon! I'm on Ipad Pro 11inch 3rd gen running latest ipadOS.Version: 1.0

Sorry but subscriptions are the bain of modern life. Why can’t I just buy the software?.Version: 1.0

NEEDS AUDIO CROSSFADINGTitle says it all. You can have fades but only fade in and out but it needs work to make it more intuitive. We need the ability to do fades like the desktop app and not via a side box. There’s no crossfades at all. Also no clip gain. Impressive with a bit of a learning curve. We also need the ability to choose the files app for our own samples in the side bar to sync with session as we browse..Version: 1.0

Program just stays on “loading” screenJust installed Logic Pro on a brand new iPad Air. When I run the app, it just stays on the loading screen. I have tried reinstalling, same issue. Also updated to latest iOS..Version: 1.0

Why subscription?Makes no sense that overtime this will cost me more than mac logic pro software. And this does not include many features..Version: 1.0

Why no info on version and updates?I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned that it seems odd Apple is hiding the version info and update log that literally every other app has listed as standard. How are we supposed to know when updates are added and bugs are fixed? This is especially important for a recurring subscription model. The way the one man development team Loopy Pro handles this is miles ahead in terms of transparency. What is Apple afraid of by hiding this standard info?.Version: 1.0

Audio editingMore like GarageBand Pro at present. This needs audio editing enhancements as a priority with cross fading an essential requirement. Massively disappointing that it’s been released without this functionality and immediately shows up the ‘Logic Pro’ title as overselling. At present the workflow on the iOS version is poor too compared to the desktop version which I have bought separately. Midi out required. Right now I can’t use this as Logic Pro and regret investing in it. Which brings me to the detestable subscription model. Bad bad bad that Apple are going down that route. Three stars, down to two because of subscription payment..Version: 1.0

Absolute rubbishI had high expectations for this but unfortunately was deeply disappointed. Not worth subscribing too. Interface is a nightmare to use and as for connecting external synths forget it. Truly horrible app Garage band is free and in my opinion better. This is not even close the logic for Mac.Version: 1.0

InfuriatingOn what Planet would this strategy work? Seriously Apple? Are there any takers? Ther are limits to innovative ideas…. Most often they flop even with the Apple NoGo logo..Version: 1.0

SoftwareMore logical than Garage Band on ios, but i didn’t stay beyond the free trial.. largely because my ipad only has 64gb and it seems that all the free packs i already downloaded are not compatible with logic. I can see the appeal if you only have ipad but i still end up being more productive on old desktop. Nothing to lose with free trial if you’re ipad is compatible..Version: 1.0

Not intuitive, lots to like but lots irritating.Really wanted to start using this but… Good points, play surfaces, midi modulator and arp, audio manipulation. Bad points , no midi learn?? , tutorials are a bit naff, convoluted workflow and a bit buggy. Maybe in a few updates time I’ll try again, feels like we’re testers atm..Version: 1.0

Need an updateSo buggy with missing features. A development roadmap would be appreciated.Version: 1.0

Great app, but not worth subscribingI took the one-month trial and while I think the app is fun, it’s certainly not worth paying monthly or yearly to use it. That just doesn’t make sense. It’s a shame because the app itself is quite nice. Hopefully, Apple will consider adopting a fixed pricing model instead. Judging from all the other bad reviews, this sentiment is widely shared by other users..Version: 1.0

Semi ProAs far as the software goes I think this is great value and works well on my 2018 iPad Pro. The disappointment so far is with the functionality of external controllers. I have the Launchkey Mini MK3 (the one advertised on the Logic website) and only basic MIDI inputs are supported. Until I can leverage rotary controls and playback/record functions on an external device this app is not deserving of the ‘Pro’ moniker..Version: 1.0

I don’t want to subscribeI don’t want to subscribe to use the app.Version: 1.0

Needs fixingHonestly, I’m super glad that Logic Pro is finally on iPad. However, I’m running into a massive bug that’s causing me to have major memory errors. Whenever I add more than 2 tracks, one of them is labelled as track 20-30 and I get constant memory errors and crashes which renders the app completely useless. Please fix! Until then, I cannot work on any projects..Version: 1.0

No MIDI exportVery disappointed to see it’s not possible to export to MIDI. This is a “pro” app on a monthly subscription, and still limits you to Logic Pro on desktop? I use the iPad to sketch ideas to then continue on my (windows) desktop DAW, so unfortunately this iPad version of Logic is for me as useful as the pre installed GarageBand.Version: 1.0

I’m taking a long hard look at whether I will remain in the Apple ecosystem….Apples greed is starting to show I have been considering purchasing logic for my Mac but now it is definitely out of the question there are many other daws available for ipad.Version: 1.0

Why can’t we just buy it?A few years on and you’re paying more than the actual desktop product… Subscription models will be the death of logic, let’s pray they leave the desktop app alone!.Version: 1.0

Alchemy synth crashes on IOS 17As the title says, when you play with the Alchemy synth, it continually crashes on IOS 17. I hope they fix this soon..Version: 1.0

You done messed up, Apple.Update: Plugins working better. Not happy with the lack of a simple MIDI learn (that I could find). In that respect, Cubasis 3 is still cleaner and easier to use. How is Cubasis 3, a third party app in direct competition with Logic's DAW features, able to host inter-app and all my AU plugins while Apple's own product chokes when it tries? I'm sure the Official Response would be that the plugin devs need to fix their wares, but... ahem... myriad other apps work with them perfectly. Maybe your team should get in touch with Steinberg for advice. Thank god Cubasis is fantastic. And NanoStudio. And AudioBus. And every single other music app that works as advertised. How about free subs until LP actually works? I was thrilled like everybody else in the whole entire music-nerd universe when LP finally appeared on iPad. Right now I'd rather use GarageBand. Or Voice Memos. Or an Etch-a-Sketch..Version: 1.0

Unintuitive, crashes, tedious to use on iPad. Bloated Garageband.Like many other logic users, I have been waiting a long time for this app. Really, really wanted to like this. I just can't. I hate using it. It took me three months to be able to open logic files from my Mac on the iPad. Total nightmare compatibility. The user interface is just confusing, and aggravating. It's like the unwanted combination of GarageBand for the iOS and logic. it takes three steps to do the simplest things, that only take one click on logic for the Mac. And what is with that arrangement window always coming back? Why is it so hard to work with plug-ins from the mixer? Why is everything jumbled together in the finder? Where are all the amp simulators? Are they called patches now? I'm so confused. There's basic functions I still can't figure out how to do, it's completely unintuitive to me. And I've been recording since the four track days. I haven't even gotten to the subscription payment model- Just totally aggravating, and totally lame. I will not be continuing my subscription. Boo.Version: 1.0

Never ending subscription Bullsheet.I’m done apple this is the final straw i own logic on mac and recently had to buy a new mac because you removed functionality on my older mac! Bullsheet number one and now you make me pay a never ending subscription for logic on iPad when i already own a licence! This is fracking Bullsheet I’m done I’m moving to a windows based software and never buying anything apple again. You make enough money you fracking Prinks!.Version: 1.0

Subscription model for a APPLE app … nopeThe app is good and like garage band with more features. It is well done. Because it takes me allot of time to get settled with an app, doing a subscription is not logical. This app for me is a 80$ application not a 80+ $ a year app..Version: 1.0

DissaprovedSubscription for making music? Nahhh man, ridiculous.Version: 1.0.1

It’s okay but it shouldn’t be considered “pro” at the moment. Its okay, but when it comes to the first version not having basic functionality like multi sampler compatibility or even having the full library of settings to make the user have a better workflow is frustrating, and i’m speaking as someone who’s first experience with logic is through the ipad, so i’m completely new to this and i know it could of been better overall. this app being a subscription service is.. well.. not popular let’s say that. and being the top leaders of DAWs and promoting subscriptions to even make music is going to make other corporations think it’s okay to do so. however it’s a good app. being able to make ur own 808s with es2 or making attractive sounding pad synths and bass through retro and es2 is awesome. i just wish it had more development time..Version: 1.0

Subscription??Ain’t no one paying for a subscription.Version: 1.0

Logic Pro cannot connect to the internetIPad is connected but Logic Pro is not. Looks like I’m not the only one with this problem. 11 people already had the same problem. Gone back to Cubasis. Logic for Ipad pile of crap. CHECK YOUR CODE DONT EXPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS TO DO IT THIS IS NOT A PC!!! Rotten Apple.Version: 1.0

Crashes my iPad ProAlchemy crashes my iPad Pro 12.9" from a few years ago when I try to tweak the settinngs or play the instrument. Can't map my synth knobs to my MiDI controller. Interface of synths is barely worth a $1 download from some 3rd party. $5 a month gets you basically Garage Band for free. 15 years go, we had a Logic that could run and make hit tracks from a very weak computer compared to the iPad Pro I have. I expected it to have a lot simpler comtrols and ease of use. Not to mention not crash on a quad core machine, remember making hits on a Pentium 3?.Version: 1.0

Nothing worth paying a subscription forCompetitors are charging $20-$40 for perpetual license. There is nothing here worth paying a monthly nor annual subscription for. I might be willing to consider it if it had the score editor. The score editor with handwriting recognition on ipad that integrates with Logic Pro should’ve happened years ago… But score editor isn’t even included in this iteration. not sure how Apple justifies what they’re trying to charge for this application..Version: 1.0.1

NoYou need a paid subscription to open songs and I wish you would remove the subscription >:( There’s another app your released but it also has a subscription, remove subscriptions please.Version: 1.0

Good start, but I’ll waitI’ve been hoping for something like this for a long time. I know there have been other great DAWs on the app store for a while, but those were mainly B-tier at best. With Logic Pro on the iPad, I was excited to finally see one of the top dogs go mobile. This definitely is a “version 1” though, so there are some things that I want to see updated before I go all in. The main thing is midi integration for external controllers. Yes, I can plug in a keyboard and play right away. However, I bought this keyboard because of the control that it gave me over the DAW on my computer with the knobs, faders, transport controls, etc. Unfortunately, this version of Logic does not make use of those controls yet. The touch controls and Apple Pencil integration are great, but I’m hoping other midi controls will be added soon..Version: 1.0

Not greatWhy did you charge my card when it says 1st month free ? No payment should have come out until after one month . Please refund my card ..Version: 1.0

Ok but a lot of missing functionalityBiggest frustration is just touched something on screen all my tracks deleted, and can’t seem to undo. Autosave wrote over it, this needs to work better, can’t event revert to last good saved version. Still needs work on improving the interface and hopefully easier access to more features. The best feature would be if it could record video at same time for the tracks so multi track videos were easy to produce..Version: 1.0
