✓ Uhh…Look, it’s fun but, it’s literally just a copy and paste of the old game, with a few new things to look flashier. I like Ruri tunes, the 3D modelling is uhh… questionable, and I guess spying on them is fun too, but this is all content that could’ve been included in the original game, just in a big update. Frankly, it makes me feel like I’m restarting, because I’ve lost all the progress I’ve made, levelling up, getting my cards, of course I’ll still play, but I really think this would’ve benefitted from just an update on the original instead of a fully fledged game, it feels forced, either that or work harder to make a different game, because it’s literally just the exact same game in a different font..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Some improvements, but…One thing I disliked about the previous game was the dancing game—it became tedious after a while. I like the new rhythm game that was implemented in Nightbringer—it’s fun and varies in difficulty settings so it’s difficult to get bored. However, it’s MUCH harder to level Ultra cards past 70 now, and no cards are imported from the previous game. After having invested so much time (and in some cases money) in the last game to get cards I wanted, as well as investing in the characters and their development and stories, to see it all go away and start over (including the characters and their relationship with you) felt…empty. I tried to give it a chance (it’s been several months) but I felt I enjoyed it less and less and stopped playing the main story because I became bored and disliked that my relationship with the characters had been wiped. Moreover, the romantic aspect of the series seems to have suffered. A large reason I played this was for the romance—and now romance seems like an afterthought when I play the game. Paired with a bland storyline, I just can’t recommend it. I hope the story and romance improves, and perhaps some darker aspects get introduced (I’m quite frankly tired of everything being silly and goofy all the time—give me some angst and more mature aspects) but for now I’m going to have to uninstall..Version: 1.0.84
✓ Whitewashing, Pedo-Pandering, & MoneygrubbingThere’s a $500 whale card on launch, they got rid of some of the ftp options & limited them to once a month, as said above they whitewashed three different characters. Worst of all they put a “white substance” on the child character’s face (& only him) & the other card was him putting a phallic shaped instrument in his mouth, one he’s never been associated with before. 2/3 cards on launch are pandering to pedos & who knows what happens when you unlock their stories. They also put out an official body pillow with him. They forced a migration for this? They don’t even use the new features in the story and lied about even odd things like not having pacts anymore on top of pretending to release the final season a week before this came out so people would keep paying in the old app..Version: 1.0.1
✓ The story is goodThe story is very good but I don’t like how it focuses too much on Ruri tunes? Is that how it’s spelled, I also had a similar problem with the last obey me game. They’ve added too many extras which don’t need to be there E.g. spying on the demons in there rooms (this is just weird) I’d much prefer to pay a whole lump sum just for the story by itself. It just seems to be trying to be too many things at once. Please make a lump sum option a bit like amnesia. This would be a lot more fun and less time consuming..Version: 1.0.8

✓ The Battle SystemI’m just going to cut straight to the point, I don’t like the new battle system. The thing about the previous game’s battle system was that if you did have really good cards and upgraded them, you could in theory be an idle player. “If you didn’t like the battle system that’s fine, just upgrade you cards.” Sort of deal. With this game you can’t do that, if you don’t like the battle system too bad your stuck with it. The new battle system somewhat makes sense with context, the previous game was a dance battle and now it’s a rhythm game. But the rhythm’s pace at its slowest is too fast. You can’t slow it down from that point. Not just are you felt stuck with a battle system you may not like, if it’s too fast for you that you have to be stuck with it. I’m not here for the battle system though, I am here for the story. I love this company’s games and I’ll always support them, I still play some of their older games. Everything else about this game I love, but the battle system is just so annoying that it’s almost destroying the whole gameplay for me..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Not fun when everytime you log in your spammed with things you can’t skipI shouldn’t ever have to spend 2 minutes delaying IN GAME ADVERTISING for IN GAME CONTENT, to play. The fights are terrible even if you have a good team since they are rythm only and lag a lot. The story isn’t good either I prefer the original all around at least my game dosent freeze in the original trying to load advertisements for things that cost real money… And not only that, I can click close 15 times before it’s done with the animation I never agreed to look at in the first place. I don’t care if you’re showing me trash for a new event, I don’t care if it’s something I want STOP SPAMMING THE FEED AND LET ME PLAY AS SOON AS I OPEN THE GAME. I’d get if it’s an pop up every few times you play but EVERY time you load the game? It’s just so annoying. Update developer response: I alleviate bringing it up to the team, it’s just annoying that there’s ‘always’ a sale/event/random thing happening and you a forced to watched laggy, annoying animated cutscenes every time they add things to the game, which is incredibly annoying especially when the ‘3d’ models look so bad I keep stop playing since I don’t want to see them. ✓ Intimacy levels broken04/20/22: intimacy levels are still broken, there are multiple typos/misspellings in the app's UI. It's frustrating that there's already an event when things aren't even fixed in the main app. Negatives aside, I really do like the music and the actual gameplay, it just feels pointless without being able to actually keep your progress. SPOILERS I also feel like it's a bit disingenuous to say that the story "continues" in Nightbringer, because it's a completely different story? The only thing that's the same is the characters basically bc it's a different timeline and you can't transfer your progress from the original obey me to this one. :/.Version: 1.0.4

✓ It’s good but…I’m loving the format and stuff so far but I’m disappointed that your company will no longer be updating the original game’s lessons. I believe if you introduce this system and format from the new game into the old game it could bring the clientele you have from the other to here. Plus allow the linking of accounts so you aren’t stuck with having to grind for exp and the like. There are probably many many other things that could be changed but for right now I’m quite enjoying it but I don’t like that I have to grind again. ✓ SighI love Obey Me with all my heart but this new game leaves me cold. It’s almost a carbon copy of the old game but with everyone starting from zero again (why couldn’t we transfer over Grimm/DP at least, from the original game?). So all my cards and items that I spent time and money levelling up are gone, therefore completing any level is extremely difficult. Which brings me onto Ruri Tunes…. Awful! I thought the dance battles were bad enough, but this is literally hell. The music doesn’t match the graphics, so you’re not following the tunes and on a personal level, my fingers are hyper sensitive, so I can only touch device screens using a stylus, which makes playing this almost impossible. But as a fan of OM for the last 3 years, I’m so invested into story/franchise, I want to play and support the app, but I’m not sure I’m going to be able to, unless I spend a lot of money to be able to buy and level up cards. ✓ Why?I personally adored obey me, the original was better even if you weren’t a whale, cards were also way easier to obtain, I expected Nightbringer to have a data transfering option, many people worked hard including me in getting new cards and updating them, but with Nightbringer, getting a Ur is difficult, Passing a ruri tune game is difficult, especially if you have to do it over and over again in the event battles, even upgrading cards is difficult, I love the original obey me but this game isn’t worth it, the storyline is great but all that effort for what? ✓ Too similar to the originalThe new gameplay is fun, but everything else is too similar to the original. The new story / feature could have easily just been added to the original where many users already have the foundation of cards & other features that were paid for. Having to start over after playing the original for 3+ years is very frustrating, especially with the original game not getting any more story. The low levels of the story are basically calling for lvl 80 cards w devil flowers unlocked for you to be able to pass w flying colors instead of C’s. Having nestling unlocked devils flowers in all my cards and lvl 40+ cards and I’m getting C’s on lvl 6 and lower . It’s insane and my cards are high lvl cards too. The devil snaps are vid awful as well. It’s not even a video it’s a flashing picture and then captions on a black screen. Some of the lord doesn’t add up w old obey me from what I’ve heard. ✓ Fun game, but causes MAJOR device issuesI love this game, I really do, and would love nothing kore than to continue playing, but it’s caused some **SERIOUS** issues with my iPad. First and foremost, it drains the battery at a significantly higher rate than other gaming apps, to the point that it will still drain even when it’s being charged, but that’s not the only issue it’s caused. A few weeks ago I was mid game and my tablet completely turned off. I wound up having to connect it to my laptop in order to reset it. Then, last night, I was playing and not only did the device turn off, it was sent into boot loop (a continuous cycle of turning on only to immediately turn off) and all attempts at recovery mode up to this point have failed. There were no issues with my device prior to downloading this app, and based on a quick glance at the reviews, I’m not the only one who has had this issue..Version: 1.0.40
✓ Blatant cashgrabIt was really shady and gross that the devs only announced that they weren’t going to update the original game anymore on a Reddit AMA a WEEK before this game dropped. They said it was because they wanted to “add new features that wouldn’t work in the original. So what did they add? Ruri tunes, a janky rhythm game that’s full of bugs and non-responsive, and a fake tiktok app with the most hideous 3d models I’ve ever seen, that you can otherwise ignore, because it doesn’t effect the story at all. Other than that, the game is pretty much exactly the same. So that’s what they forced us to restart for. They speed up randomly, go too fast for my eyes to keep track, and by the end of the song I’ve got a headache and can’t continue for a bit. ✓ Pay to winI wish I could give this game better but oh my god I’m holding my cuss words for the changes you guys made. You made it so you literally cannot level cards past 70 without making it level 2. It makes the game much more gacha focused and… PAY TO WIN. I bought the $60 beginner package at the beginning and have done a bunch of grinding as well. I had to use everything… everything to get a single UR+ card to level 2. If you’re going to make level 2 necessary make it easier to get the skill level up cards, because my UR and UR+ cards are absolutely useless. I had to spend EVERYTHING to hope to use my Leviathan card. I’m heavily disappointed with the money-grabbing changes and I will be stopping my membership and all support for this game. I thought I had found a game that cared for it’s player base and their wallets, but all gacha companies are the same. A common fan suggestion- that is, an accessibility option that would allow players to pass a level with a C rank if they got a full combo or perfect finish- has not been implemented, nor have any others, leaving no way to get through the story without backbreaking effort or money put into the game. “Free to play” is sounding more and more like satire. ✓ Very disappointed and miffed about these mircotransactionsLook don't get me wrong, I am enjoying the game and sure at the moment I do not mind buying the one off birthday gifts for the boys but when you release a "special" limited time item and sell them one by one for cash not devil points that is ridiculous! At $5.99 a pop for twelve it would cost me a stupid amount of $71.88 and that's just not on. I understand you probably might need the revenue for this new venture but you really need to reevaluate the main bracket of your consumers and what is actually viable for them to engage with and to support your content. At this moment in time not only am I very disappointed in this current outcome, I am also highly disheartened. It's a lovely little spinoff of the main game unfortunately the transactions are vastly different and can get completely insane when and if one is also playing the main game. I know some of you whom read this will just say "then don't spend any money on it" and to them I say playing the obey me franchise makes me happy and I honestly don't mind spending some money within reason on them, especially when and if it supports the creators. ✓ Events and other problemsBirthday events are no longer available and that just pisses me off considering theyve been a huge part of the original Obey Me! game. Those events would cater to a specific character so it baffles me why this would be removed especially since it encoueages players to pull for their favorite characters even more. Furthermore grinding is difficult without being a pay2win player, the card upgrading system is awful now because you’d need skill level 2 and thats just not possible because the joker cards are expensive/difficult to get OR grinding the card is difficult enough. So dissapointing because most of the concepts introduced are great but it just shows that there’s a huge paywall AND birthday events are removed and there are stilk multiple bugs in-game. ✓ Kinda wish the game wasn’t targeted for children/wasn’t so childishAs much as I enjoyed the OG game, this one was kind of a let down. I like playing the ruri tunes (when I’m even able to. My cards seem to never be strong enough after lesson 20 no matter how much I level them up or upgrade devils tree) but at this point the story isn’t what it had the potential to be, especially in events. I usually just skip the story now, even though it used to be my favorite part of the games. I'm probably not the target audience anymore since I’m 18 now, but at least rated T for teens would have been better. I miss the more developed and even sometimes spicy or actually angsty stuff. ✓ Stops working at a certain pointFor me my game has suddenly crashed at the end of the ‘wanderers whereabouts’ tutorial and now every time I try to go on it the game registers that as ‘uncompleted’. Since it is still registered as unfinished it won’t let me reset my account and automatically makes try to finish the tutorial. When I load into the ‘wanderer’s whereabouts’ app the ai talks about setting up a video chat before then stopping leaving me then on a darkened version of the map and not being able to go back or proceed with the tutorial. I have re-download the game and it still isn’t working I hope the developers can fix these random crashes where the game stops working altogether..Version: 1.0.2

And this was 2 days after the developers already sent me a generic, passive aggressive message thanking me for my criticism, that they’re working on it, hope to see me play again, blah blah blah. To reiterate from my previous “missing” review, OMNB is a cash-grab, with no plot consistency to the abandoned (with barely a word) predecessor game, intrusive ads, and a horrible blinding color palette of a difficult, off-beat rhythm mini-game called, “Ruri Tunes”. Not to mention, the game claims to be “different but better~” than the original game, but doesn’t deliver on its promises..Version: 1.6.4
