It allows me to control all my media from my bed & not just from Frontrow but other well known media apps. ✓ Doesn't look like the screen capture previewWhat's up with the square within a diamond instead of the Apple Remote circles? Doesn't look anything like the preview in the App Store which could be a Trade Description issue, developer please take note! For those having problems, you have to download and run the helper app to be able to 'see' you computer. Otherwise this app works very well. I use it all the time from around the house to control the mac, particularly to launch itunes and turn off the mac. ✓ Power PC CompatibleThe only other remote that [mostly] rules like this is HippoConnect, but as that's been on its period since I switched main Mac, finding this EXCEEDINGLY useful & simple - ChrisC36 above must've done something wrong bigtime: I opened the app on iPhone & a popup on my Mac took me straight to not only the site but the correct download too - AS IN THE HEADER, THIS WORKS WITH PRE-INTEL POWER PC MACs. Any Mac user having difficulties should: •Check the firewall settings to "set access for individual apps",pop the remote in+allow it all traffic (do this if you're using LS too in LS Rules), then reset firewall as you like it. •TRY to ignore the fact that it doesn't recognise the correct APPS' ICONS (definite FAIL THERE- needs fixing) Otherwise it's pretty intuitive, the flicking of the keyboard toggle comes quite easily and Apple+<key> functions work quickly. Initially, due to some complexities with my setup, the initial distribution of rowmote helper didn't run on my system. ✓ Perfect all-rounderThis is the first app that i've found that enables me to use my iPhone with my laptop instead of the normal remote. I have upgraded to pro as i've found that the trackpad and keyboard have replaced my wireless mouse and keyboard. Its great just to use as a remote or to surf the internet when your computer is connected to a tv or projector. ✓ Best service, great app, better than buying a remote at an Apple store - hands down.I'd like to first point out, it's not a ripoff for those of you who obviously didn't put anytime into making the application work. Mine didn't work right away because of firewall issues in my apartment building, there could be other issues with your connection too. This is bound to happen since all computers are designed differently and have different personal setting that, chances are, you setup when you got the computer and just simply forgot about - its not a ripoff by any means. I previously had the original "Remote" application that worked for the longest time then with all the new updates, it stopped working this past month so I decided to change to Rowmote - needless to say, best decision I've made. The TECH SUPPORT is the best I've seen with any application and yes, that includes better than the pain in the neck Apple company applications who I can't stand dealing with some of their tech people. I emailed the head support person named Joe that has all his credentials on the website and he literally got back to me 10 minutes later (ok, maybe I got lucky that time but I emailed him again the following week and yet again I got a reply with 20 minutes) - this either tells me they never leave the computer or they got great service. ✓ Works wellI've been using this app since the very first release. It works pretty well as a remote for my Mac Mini that I'm using as a HTPC under my TV. Due to SAF (Spousal Acceptance Factor) the Mini is hidden in a cabinet so the Apple remote doesn't work. With this app I'm able to control my Mac over WiFi I would give it five stars, only I have some vague feelings of frustration when using it. I feel that the developer is too wedded to the idea of emulating the Apple hardware remote on its main screen. That was cool when the app first came out but it's very limiting. Some UX design work on the iOS app could produce something really outstanding. The OS X helper app has everything needed. I also wish the developer could provide a version for older iPhones. I use a decommissioned iPhone 2G for a remote, but can't apply any updates to it since this is iOS 4 or later. The Mac's helper app works with both the old version I have on the old iPhone, and my newer iPhone 4, which is good news..Version: 3.6.7

✓ Works great on my MacBook Pro !I own a 2012 pro. And I'm using the iPhone 6 as a a remote with the MacBook. This app works great ! Saved myself 20 bucks from not buying an actual remote ! Plus I always have my phone on me so now the remote app is always with me. Plus the rowmote app on the iphone and on the MacBook always stay connected to each other without interfering with anything and it does drain any extra battery from both decides. If planning to upgrade to Pro, read onThis is not clearly explained by the developer or Appl but it turns out that if you Upgrade via the in-app purchase YOU CAN UPGRADE ALL DEVICES at NO extra charge, iTunes will just tell you that you have already purchased that item and will upgrade the app on the additional devices withouth charging again. Only pain is to repeat the process on each device, however this is less work than buying the Pro version on the store and replacing the original one. Problem with this second method is that you have to configure whatever custom settings you have on all the devices and re-pair them with the computers. Also, costs an extra buck. I left the review similar to the original in the hope that it may clarify the situation for others in my same position. Apple TV support takes a bit of work and guts. ✓ Nice Little AppHaving used it so far only for controlling front row, it does exactly what it says on the tin. Saves you hunting round for your elusive remote, and no need to worry about hitting the infrared eye any more. I do have one small gripe though which has prevented me giving it 5 stars, which is that if you are watching anything of a duration exceeding your iphone sleep time, you have to wake your phone, only to find that it has dropped the connection with your wifi network and have to re-connect all over again. ✓ Simple but powerfulI initially used the free version of this app in combination with logitechs trackpad app, but it became too annoying and limiting having to endlessly toggle between apps, so I bought the full version. To be honest, the trackpad isn't quite as responsive ad the Logitech version as it does lag a little, but it is still very good and switches with the remote control interface seemlessy and rapidly. It took me a while to realise you shake the remote to show and hide the keyboard, but this is a nice solution. The countless program shortcuts are very useful. I have an old mini mac set up to watch videos. A single click gets me into frontrow, and I then have instant control. Responsive, quick to start, recommended. And an update, the author answered a support question 5 minutes after I sent the email. Updates to the app happen regularly, so it would be great to incorporate some additional mechanisms for navigating finder etc..Version: 0
✓ ExcellentI've tried a few remote apps, and been dissappointed with poor UI, lack of functionality and instability. Rowmote was the app that made me delete all the others. It's comprehensive, works well and is always good for overiding my wife's choice of TV programme. It's a shame the developer made a Pro version, after paying for this one I'd expect to get keyboard and mouse functionality as a free upgrade, but still I do think it's worthwhile. ✓ Best App On My PhoneThis app is utter genius, I can do pretty much use my mac from bed, which is especially handy when watching tv shows and I don't want to get out of bed in order to put the next one on. The track pad makes it easy to choose an item or move windows, although the three finger drag is a little hit and miss. ✓ Impressive but too expensiveThe pro app is really great with the keyboard and trackpad however it needs to give you a two button mouse mode as an optional layout because r goes by the single click pad. Secondly, when I tried downloading the software from the website for my mac it was unavailable for download, however a google search for another location dis the trick. Thirdly, £2.99 for a remote app is madness. Considering that apps like splashtop have a mouse and trackpad app that's free and a remote desktop app that is very attractively priced. ✓ Excellent app.I have a mac mini plugged in to my tv and it took me a while to find a wireless keyboard with a built in track pad. I ended up spending around £50 to buy a keysonic keyboard. If only I'd known about rowmote before. It works brilliantly and has frequent updates to improve performance. I'm intrigued to see what they'll do with rowmote for the iPad. ✓ What on earth do you cretins want?I originally got the free one and immediately upgraded to pro and it is fantastic. I have a little white plastic which yes, you do need to 'wake up the mac' as one delightful viewer wrote but you can turn it off and when thought about for more than a few long seconds, that's the nature of wi-fi... What do you want? This is a great way to not have to keep getting up and scrolling through your hard drive for things to watch and is extremely good value for money (get the pro version with the trackpad, sooooo good)! Seriously, I'm not sure how you can review this badly? My one gripe is the brightness doesn't work but other than that, one of my most used apps to date! Excellent!.Version: 3.6.1
