Ease into 5K: run walk interval training program for Positive User Reviews

Great running app :-)I've got off my couch and now on week 5. I never thought I'd be able to run for 2 mins let alone the 8 mins I'm doing now. The map with the gps function is superb and the pace notes and graphs are a real motivation. Highly recommend this app..Version: 3.1.1

Good, if annoyingWorked for me, gone from nothing to nearly 5k. It got confused after its last update but generally pretty good. Would like the option of more mid-run updates on time and how well you're doing. The journal is just confusing.Version: 3.2.4

Thank you for the motivation and fun!I LOVE this program! It is fun, and easy to use, and I love making my own playlists for the runs from music I already have on my iPod Touch. I am healing from two surgeries in 2009; knee and groin. I have not been able to exercise aerobically much at all for about a year, and consequently, gained 20lbs. and 1+ pant sizes. I used to love trail running, and I have been so depressed about my slow recovery. I really don't like gyms, but I do well in PT because someone is there to make me do it. This C25K app is the first major improvement in my life for 2010! It literally has allowed me to jog/shuffle with my knee brace on the first week, to being able to actually run with some strength the second week. Taking a break, and forcing myself to do it every other day, and only do as much as the program prompts you to do is wonderful. It is so exciting to accomplish even this little bit of jogging right now, when I couldn't drive a car for 2 months. : ) I love how Alex keeps updating the program, and my 7 year old son ran on the trail with me yesterday, and he loved the "walk" now "run".... aspect of it too. It's like playing "Red Light", "Green Light"! Thank you, Alex. This is definitely the future of work outs. Life is good..Version: 0

Long time userI’ve been using this app on and off since 2011. It’s a great program that you can just pick up and go, no matter how unfit you are!! I only 2 issues with it - the app doesn’t work if the screen is locked and there is no Apple Watch support. If all I needed was my watch and headphones, it would be 5 stars+!!!.Version: 3.5.8

Fab the best!Have tried others but this is by far the best of it's type. After 2 weeks I can see my body changing and feel loads fitter. Hoping to lose weight and tone up. Have lost body fat already. Just fab. Highly recommended..Version: 3.2.1

Love itVery good for someone like me just starting out running. Audible chimes telling you when to run or walk. Did week one day one today and loved it. Cant wait for day two. Especially good that you can choose your own playlist..Version: 0

BrilliantLove it. Simple to use, keeps me going. Only small issue is being able to pick your music from iTunes, can be restrictive: so make sure you have your music selected or in a play list before you start..Version: 3.3.3

Great for non runnersI have wanted to run my whole life... I just could not do it. My daughter told me about this APP and i love it. I am losing weight and i feel amazing. I have no issues with app crashing..Version: 3.3.2

Awesome appNever been much of a runner. Am at the lowest fitness level that I've ever been. This app is great! The journal history is motivating and love that I can also do on treadmill during bad weather. Recent upgrade with metric measurements is a godsend. Thankyou for listening to our feedback!.Version: 3.2.4

C25K is worth getting!!I've never been a runner but wanted to become fitter so after a friend recommended this to me I thought I'd give it a go. I'm now on week 4 and can honestly say I actually look forward to going out to run!! It is such an easy app to follow. It tells you when to walk and run and if you are like me I need to be pushed but already I'm finding I want to run that bit further! I also downloaded the gps which then tracks how far I've run and maps it out. This is worth doing too as again it gives you that boost to see The route youve been and how many calories etc you've used up. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who needs that bit of motivation to get going. I'm already thinking about getting the 10k app and doing that in a few months!.Version: 3.2.1

AmazingWith this app I left my sedentary life and lost 30 lb and am running 30 minutes straight. Highly recommended..Version: 3.3.3

Well pacedInto 2nd week (3rd time starting), find it enough to push me, having never been a runner. Have been surprised each time that I have actually managed to run for each section. The only problem is convincing myself to get out of bed at 5:30 to do it!!.Version: 3.2.4

Great AppReally like this app as it keeps you track to keep getting to the next week with achievable goals. Builds you up week by week and keeps you motivated. Also recommend GPS as you can track where you usually run..Version: 3.5.8

From 0 to 5K this really works.Starting off at 25kg overweight I have used this app both on treadmill and the road. The first few weeks are pretty gentle and give you a nice progression. Around week 4 and 5 things pick up! I thought the progressions we're going to be too much but I was able to adhere to the instructions well and increase my capacity each week. I'm now running 5K and about to begin 5 to 10k app! Only downside is that it's not optimised for treadmill use, I can't seem to turn the GPS off. Other than that I highly recommend it!!.Version: 3.5.7

Fantastic appI don't usually buy or rate apps but decided I wanted to lose a bit of weight and get a bit fitter so after reading the reviews I downloaded this app. I am amazed that from not being able to run for 30 seconds I have today just ran for 30 mins non stop!! I feel so much better in myself and look trimmer too so thank you so much!!.Version: 3.2.4

Great appThe most recent update caused a few issues with the voice alerts not playing when the app was running in the background - this can be fixed via Settings > Notifications > Ease into 5k App > Select 'on' for all options. Otherwise, fantastic app! Love it!.Version: 3.2.4

Reasonable programI have used the program twice to regain my endurance without injury after both my pregnancies and have completed three 5k races in the process..Version: 3.3.2

Great appGreat app easy to use.Version: 3.2.4

Love it!!!!The most amazing programme ever! It does exactly as it says. As a person who has never ran or enjoyed running this app was perfect! I have used this and a bridge to 10k app to complete my first ever 5 & 10k runs, loosing 42lb in weight in the process and have just started training towards my first half marathon! Love it and cannot recommend highly enough!!!.Version: 3.3.8

Love it!So helpful and easy to use. I am training for my first 5k next september and i know i'll do great with this app!.Version: 3.3.3

Just what I was looking for!Works very well. No complaints..Version: 3.3.8

A few bugs in the updateListen! I love this app. It's been fantastic and I'm feeling great using it. Just finding the music on the update restricting and the voice over is now intrusive rather than just talking over the top of what I'm listening too. Love how you can control music from the app - very cool..Version: 0

When it worksGreat ap when it works. Has crashed on me every time it's opened..Version: 3.5

Love itGreat app easy to use.Version: 3.3.3

Go for it!Charlie Brooker's excellent Guardian article about this app summed up my own attitude to running but inspired me to follow suit. All credit to this app's creators. I've just finished week 5 and am amazed how easily the app has got me running. Of course, you have to put the effort in, but it is well worth it. If I can get off that couch, anyone can... If you have any doubts, put them to one side, download the app, and start running. You'll be glad you did..Version: 3.2.4

Love it, but one suggestionI love this app, and have used it several times to return to running after having a baby. My only criticism is that I wish it worked to notify of changes, “walk”, “run”, etc. while the screen was off..Version: 3.5.8

Amazing!Tried to get into running last year with little success. After hearing about this app I decided to give it another go based on the idea that if it could even get Charlie brooker to keep fit it might work for me too. I'm now so glad I made the purchase as I've never felt more motivated to keep running and am enjoying it more each day. Don't waste tons of cash hiring a personal trainer at the gym, just pick up this app instead and you'll be back in shape in no time!.Version: 3.2.4

Worth the money!Love this app! it's my go to every time I go for a run! I am a wanna be runner and this app happens helped me get back on the 5K bandwagon many times!.Version: 3.3.4

AstoundingI never thought it possible that I would achieve so much, but I have thanks to this app. You just suspend your disbelief in your own abilities and trust in the programme. I am just starting week 8 so stepping it up to 28 minutes. I was running just over 2 miles in 25 mins so a little short of the goal, but I've never felt happier. Who knew I'd ever be able to run let alone enjoy it so much..Version: 3.1.1

Fantastic app to get startedFound this app in Feb 2010 and it is the sole app I used to get running. 8 months later and I'm regularly running 10K in under 60 mins at 37 years of age having never run distance in my life!!! Love the voice over and controls over music and volume. Solid, reliable app!!.Version: 0

Love it!Has helped build endurance starting up and after injury! Thanks Bluefin!.Version: 3.3.3

Great appWish it would continue tracking if u keep going. But otherwise love the app!!!.Version: 3.3.3

RecommendedWorks well, great app for the beginner runner..Version: 3.5.8

Makes running way easier. Can't speak highly enough of this. Easy to use. Starts really gently and easily. Then the good progressions make the run times achieveable. Found I could skip ahead a day or 2 as I got fitter. Just reached the 5km target and contemplating the next app for 10km! Unthinkable not long ago..Version: 3.3.3

Great app!Great app! Simple to use. I love that it plays my own music..Version: 0

Best app EVER!!!I couldn't afford a gym/trainer so thought I'd give this far more economical option a shot (assuming I'd most likely fail - again - in my mission to transform into a Nicole Scherzinger's body!l) But, I've been wonderfully surprised by the results such a simple & easy to use app has given me. At the end of the day it's up to YOU to get up, out the door & 'obey' the app man when he tells you to 'run!', but I assure you if you do and set aside 3 half hour slots a week this will turn you into a running addict. I have gone from being barely able to run/jog for 60 second intervals to now running a full 30 mins without stopping in a matter of weeks. I've lost noticeable weight, my confidence has shot up & with the money I've now saved on my evening commute (I now run home from work most days) the app has in effect paid me back! I've entered to do a 10k run in 6 weeks time & have already purchased the 'Bridge to 10k' app in preparation. GET THIS APP!!! I honestly cannot recommend enough..Version: 3.3.8

Great training, app needs tweaksCan't fault the regime and am very pleased with how easy it is to use, however I got the add-on for the map tracking etc and it is nowhere near accurate - to the extent that it lists my run speeds as slower than walk speeds! Plus it is listing distance in miles but actually what the app display calls a mile is actually a kilometre!!! Need to iron these out but apart from that a great app for training to..Version: 3.1.1

Great app! This is exactly what I needed to get me going (and a new pair of running shoes) and it worked for me. Cheaper than a gym membership! Well designed app. Voice over is not too intrusive. Seems that you cannot add and delete from playlist. You have to start over again. Nevertheless, I still give it 5 stars..Version: 0

It worked for me!I'm on week 8 of the program and can't believe how far I've come! I was a runner in the past but after having a baby I was having a hard time getting back into it. This program gave me the baby steps I needed to get back to where I was..Version: 3.5.8

Fantastic appA friend of mine was using similar app to help count the exercise and I stumbled across this program in my search to help get off the couch. 10 weeks later I've completed a 6km fun run and am going for leisurely 30 minute runs before work, something I never would have done before getting off the couch. This app is great with the prompting and the music and the reports and status updates after the run..Version: 3.2.4

Me, a runner....who'd have thought it?!I discovered this App through MyFitnessPal, and to be honest, I consider it the best 1.79GBP I've ever spent (plus the in-App purchase)! I've never been a runner but my friends enthused about this so much that I decided to give it a go. The first couple of weeks were tough but suddenly, along came week 3 and the discovery that I love running! And I love this App too! It's very well-designed, not just in terms of aesthetics but in functionality too. I can use it with Nike+ (although I'm not sure why I'd want to!), and I can make my own playlist to listen to. The graphs are a very useful tool for analysing progress, and the journal function is for me, an absolute godsend. Already I read through my first week's experiences and am amazed at how far I've come! I'm now on week 5, and have already gone from zombie shuffle to (slow) runner. I never thought I'd ever be able to get this far, but now I am contemplating running a half marathon next year! I cannot tell you how amazing a feeling this is! I'll definitely get the 10k App after I've graduated from this one. But really, don't take my word for it - buy this App, work through the programme yourself and see & feel the difference in your fitness levels...you may just amaze yourself! My heartfelt congratulations to all at BlueFin - you have done a superb job! Thank you from the bottom of the soles of my running shoes!.Version: 3.1.1

Love it!Tried a couple of other ones & this is the best..Version: 3.3.3

Love itBut my weight in the journal keeps changing to about double my actual weight..Version: 3.2.4

No km's in GPSLove the app, the upgrades are all good improvements, new GPS works well but you can't toggle it to metric which is a big drawback for me, have been told this will be in next upgrade, that would make it a definite 5 star.Version: 3.1

Excellent!I'm very much a beginner looking to lose weight & this app fits my needs perfectly. Starts off fairly easy & gradually gets more difficult but you can repeat lower levels till ready for higher. Very very pleased..Version: 3.2.4

C25kAbsolutely brill app, would have given 10 stars if I could, I regularly workout and I find this app can be used in most types of exercising, even used it on my rowing machine, would definitely recommend and have!!!!.Version: 3.2.4

Great app - well worth the price! This program is designed for naturally progressing, all you need to do is make the time to fit in about 30 minutes, 3 times a week. Love it! Just finished week 4/ run 1. Trust this app, your body will be ready to step up even if your mind isn't convinced!.Version: 3.3.2

New layout and features greatA few more bugs than the last version but still a really good app..Version: 3.2.4

Love this programIt works! Try it you won't be disappointed.Version: 3.3.3

Love it!This is a great app! I started off back in August but injured my ankle (not through running) so couldn't complete the course. At the time I could barely manage 1 minute of constant running! I'm now on week 5 of the program and running/walking 4k three times a week. Can't wait to get to 5k but I know I should build up gradually, which is exactly what this app does. Really good!.Version: 3.2.4

FINALLYI have used this app for 2-3 years but now it won't post (journal) to Facebook!! Please fix. Other than that I love it!! Ok. Finally it's fixed!! Thank you!!.Version: 3.5.8

Great App!This has been a solid choice for me from day one..Version: 3.5.8

Great app!Absolutely ecstatic about this app - has been helping me workout and feel fit for a long time now. I'm losing weight and feeling happier with myself because every week I'm achieving bigger goals. I've been less happy with it since the update but it's still getting me off my bum :).Version: 3.2.4

WonderfulC25K has taken me to not even being able to run to the end of the street, to running over 5km with ease. Great program, well paced out with walking/running and great music integration. I have recommended to all who will listen and who want to start running. Cheers Kathy...Version: 0

Fantastic!I had a double lung transplant in October 2009 and even though I can now breathe I've found it hard to maintain enthusiasm for exercise I must do to keep my new lungs fit and healthy. I've just finished week 5 of this app and in 2 runs time will be doing my first 20 min run! I'll be taking part in the British Transplant Games later in the summer. The app makes you work just the right amount and makes me feel so much better than I did before starting..Version: 3.2.4

Keeps crashingI love the app however since i installed iOS 6 it keeps crashing... Pretty much every time i want to use it. Very disappointing!.Version: 3.3.1

A great motivational workoutI am only at the 2nd week but I am really enjoying this app. I want to lose weight and get fit and this is definatly a good way to start.Version: 3.2.4

Fantastic... can't fault it!I had been struggling to get the timing right with the c25k programme using other timer apps... Then I stumbled upon this little gem! Well worth the money! My motivation was dwindling but since having this app I really look forward to each new stage!.Version: 3.2.1

Will help to push youI love this app as it really helps to push you past what you thought you could do. You look ahead and think 'yikes, there's no way I could run 7 minutes all in one go!' Then by the time you get there, you can! It gives you a great feeling of achievement. Things I specifically like are: being able to listen to your own music, being able to publish your workout, the 2 minute walk breaks (personal running trainer is only 1 min which wasn't enough for me in the early days), tough but achievable running sections. I have got back into running after having a baby and am doing a 5k in June and 10k in September. I will buy the Bridge to 10k app for that..Version: 3.3.3

Essential AppFor anyone who wants to run but thinks they can't... This little app will coach you at your own speed to go quiet literally from a couch dweller to a runner both confident and certainly capable of running 3 miles/5 km. whilst it can be used on a treadmill, for best results, use it in the great outdoors. All you need are a decent pair of trainers for running and a desire to want to do it. Go for it!!.Version: 3.2.4

Great ap!I had heard about c25k and when I finally got an iPhone I couldn't wait to try it out. I'm Enjoying it even more than I expected! Easy to use, great for beginners because you can progress as fast or as slowly as you like. I've now finished the program but still use the a to time and calculate my run pace and o compare my progress. Next I'll try the 10k!!.Version: 3.3.3

LOVE IT!I'm not a runner and I've NEVER liked to run. This app is not BS. I have never ran 30 minutes or 5k straight in my life. This got me there. Don't get me wrong... I still don't like to run, but at least I can if I want to!.Version: 3.3.3

GreatI am a totally unfit, gets out of breath going up the stairs person. I've recently lost 3 stone by healthy eating and wanted to help this by fulfilling this urge I had to run. I found the app and saw the good reviews so decided to go for it. The first work out I couldn't complete I only managed half. The next session I re did the first workout and did it I was chuffed. I've now just finished week one and will start week two tommrow. This app has helped me do somthing that I never thought that I could:-))) got a long way to go yet but I've made a start. Thankyou.:-)).Version: 3.1.1

Great appI downloaded this app a couple of months ago and just got round to using it this morning, I got up nice and early (6:15) and headed out for my run. App is so simple to use, easy to set up a playlist which I could control from my iPhone headphones no problem. Just hit start and leave the app to do it's thing, all you have to do is listen, do as you're told and hey presto, you're a runner. I've downloaded runmeter also and used that a couple of times (another fantastic app btw) but I think I'll leave that one till I'm able to build up my running properly..Version: 0

Great programBest way I know to build up my fitness levels. I've really enjoyed using it and the sense of achievement it has allowed me. I was never a runner (maybe a sprinter in my early teens) and to be honest decades of very little exercise. now running feels like an important part of my life. really happy to recommend this program..Version: 3.2.4

Buy this app NOW !!!!!!!This is the best app ever, I thought I would never be able to run. When I stared the program I couldn't run for one minute now I'm running for 30, this is a must have for those who want to get fit!.Version: 0

Great appI'm on week 5 and love this app, every aspect of it is great except for the calories burned calculation in the journal section. It says I burn off way more calories than I actually am, if that could be fixed to be more accurate it'd be perfect..Version: 3.3.3

This taught me to run!I've never been into exercise but this app made it very easy to teach myself to run and increase the difficulty at my own pace. I like it because you don't have to able to run continuously to get a work out. I also like how you can measure your progress on graphs..Version: 3.3.3

Best app I've ever used. Before downloading this app, I could run a maximum of 5 minutes on a treadmill. I'd wanted to be able to run on the streets as exercise for years but could get barely around the block before wanting to stop. Now, it took me actually 2 years to complete this program, cos I'd get up to week 4, look what was ahead, think it was too hard and stop. But when I started again this July at week 4, I swore to myself I'd finish and I did. The first time I ran 20 minutes without stopping I couldn't believe it. And there is absolutely no way I could have done that without the support of this training program. Having someone tell you when to run and walk, just following their instructions and listening to music. Also it maps your run (whether you have internet connection or not) and I have run all over the world so it is fantastic to look back through the journal and remember those places and journeys from the maps that are stored. Now I run most mornings, for about 20 minutes (approx 3.5km) which I still find a challenge but is an achievable goal for me, which means I actually keep doing it rather than giving up on it for being too hard. This works for me. Highly recommended to anyone..Version: 3.3.8

Best learn to run app!Easy, take anywhere program! Looking forward the the 10K version!.Version: 3.3.3

Great AppI've always hated running but this app is keeping me motivated and sticking to it! Gentle reminders are nice when you've missed a day. Only 30 minutes each session so doesn't need a lot of time commitment..Version: 3.3.4

Everything you can ask for!On the first week of using it and I LOVE IT! I read past reviews and people were disappointed about the measurement options and no GPS feature BUT, It now has Km & Kg measurements so us metric users are no longer left out AND its got a GPS feature! Nothing more to say but an completely satisfied with it..Version: 3.2.2

The Original and BestI've been using this application for nearly a year now and it's only gotten better with time. The developer clearly cares a lot about making his application the best Couch To 5K based application available - and he succeeds. The latest update, with its fresh new interface, playlist function and pausing your music to speak rather than doing so over the music (which made it a little difficult to hear) are all vast improvements. Not to mention the small changes, like the options to turn certain features (like last run notification and the like) on or off. I like that it shows on the screen which run or walk you are in too - for example "run 4 of 6" or "walk 3 of 5". That's not so useful when running, but it's good during the walks to be able to take a look and see how far through the day's program you are. I am a 'clinically obese' woman who thought I would never find and stick to an exercise program I enjoyed, but Couch to 5K is it. It's not easy but it's certainly manageable and I feel great when I get home. This application has made following the program so easy that I recommend anyone who's dithering over whether or not to buy it: go on and buy it! You won't be disappointed!.Version: 0

Excellent!I love this app, it got me off the couch about 18 months ago and I use it whenever I've had a break, just find where my fitness level is at and start from there. Going to get the power walking app for some variety this winter after my races are over and my focus shifts to my Physie comps :).Version: 3.2.4

Needs a metric optionI really love the journalling and gps setting in this app. It can show you how far you've come when you review your progress. If this app had the choice of kilograms, kilojoules and kilometers it'd be perfect. Also the option to change the colour of the interface might be something to be considered so that users can personalise the app. But definitely please make a metric option!!!.Version: 3.1.1

Fantastic, if you are training, buy it now, you won't regret it.This must be one of the best £1.79 I have ever spent! I tried couch to 5k at the gym and even with a stopwatch in front of me, it was still hard to look at the clock and work out when to run and when to walk. Also, at the gym, you do not get the feel of the outdoor running which I presume you are eventually training for. I was so pleased when I found this app for my iPod touch, I spent a very enjoyable couple of hours downloading 'running' songs for my iPod and couldn't wait to try it out the following day. It is fab. It beeps in your ear when you need to change what you are doing and also plays your favourite running songs to motivate you along. If you are training for a run or just trying to get yourself a bit fitter and think that music will help to motivate you, this is most definately the app for you and at such a fantastic price too. Thanks so much..Version: 0

Great app!I have just finished week 5 of this app and I am really enjoying it. It's perfect for a beginner runner like me (I have bad knees and have always struggled running) or returning to running after an injury. I found it easy to follow, and love that you can listen to music through it. I could never have run for 6 minutes without stopping before, but this app has really motivated me. Give it a go and stick at it! Good luck!.Version: 3.3.3

Simple but effective!I have been following the C25K programme for a month, and have found the music on the available Podcasts to much to bear. After a few weeks of spending far too long making my own mp3's to run to, I found this little app. For me it is terrific. Simply start your playlist, open this app, hit start and away you go. Could be improved by a volume control for the voice on the app. But great value for money and a £1.79 sterling outlay replaced the need for a £50 per month gym membership. Buy it!.Version: 0

LOVE THIS APPI love this app, love the gps feature. I would and have recommended this app to my family and friends..Version: 3.3.3

Best app by farI could never get going on a running program until actually the predecessor of this program called Couch to 5K. It almost teases you into pushing forward..Version: 3.5.8

Great toolI've used this app a couple years and it's perfect, no glitches and does exactly what is advertised. Recommend to everyone!.Version: 3.3.4

Best Running App!!I have been using this app for 4 weeks now. Unfortunately I did not find it until about week 3 of the program. This is by FAR the best app for the novice runner. It's a bargain at twice the price! The new facebook integration is fantastic! I just bought the GW28K (Gateway To 8K) which is the next program after the C25K. I hope by the time I finish it, that Alex will have the 10K and Beyond App done!.Version: 0

Worth the money!I love this app & am now up to week 8. I'm using it for pre-pre-season netball & am entering fun runs left right & centre. Going to restart program once finished to increase my speed (jogging instead of walking, then sprinting instead of running). Agree with everyone else, would be great to have an extension on this to keep on going. Buy this!.Version: 0

Invaluable!!!I did not believe this app would work for everyone but so far so good - im on week 5 and able to run 8min sections now (the thought of 60secs running scared me 5 weeks ago). Downloaded the gps add on which is fab the maps are interesting to look at and to see how your speed is improving over the duration of the programme is really motivating. Sometimes the gps Mis tracks ur route which puts all the other data out for that run but other than that is faultless. Great user interface as well :))) cant wait to graduate and actually achieve 5k :)).Version: 3.2.2

Almost perfectIt's good for easing you into running, handy voice tells you when to run + wall, and screen shows for how long, the number such as run 6 of 9 give me the motivation to keep going, as does the voice telling me when I'm halfway there. Also works great with my own music. Only complaint I have is that it doesn't calculate my calories burnt etc properly, after running/walking for 33 mins at 3.5mph it's telling me I burnt 9 calories be because as soon as I enter the info into one field it deletes it as soon as I move to the next. If this worked it would be perfect!.Version: 3.2.4

Simply the BestIve tried to get gig for years and never managed more than a few weeks before giving up. Never thought of running till I saw this app and gave it a go. 8 months later I'm 2 stones lighter, run 4 times a week including regular 10k's with partner app. This iz the best to keep you going and actually reach your goal, thanks and well done to developers..Version: 3.2.4

Great app, week 5 now, just love it so far.Perfect way to start running,I would have never thought I could go 5k strait I am only in week 5 and I think I can follow through to week 8. I probley would never have done this if it was'nt for the app..Version: 3.3.3

It worked for me!I just completed this 5k training plan. I started off barely able to run for 90 seconds and now I am going for 30! This app has the basics, everything you need to make it to your goal..Version: 3.5.8

Lové itI love it.Version: 3.3.3

Pretty good appIt would be 5 stars if it had apple watch integration.Version: 3.5.8

Great for beginnersI have always struggled with running since I left school and could never get into a rhythm. I swim and bike ride but running has always eluded me and I want to start looking at basic triathlons so this app is helping me start small and gradually build up strength with running. I love the flexibility and ease of the program too..Version: 0

Post to twitter broken?I've got an iPhone5 and i went for a run today (i can almost do the entire week 3 without stopping hurrah!) and i normally like posting it to my twitter feed and have it set up to automatically do that, but today i kept getting the 404 error and it's upsetting. I thought it was my password so i rekeyed everything and it was still giving me that. Can there be a fix for it please! D: Other than that i love this app so much, the change in intervals are actually easy. It's great! I'm finally hitting week 3, as in the past i've always injured myself at this point and couldn't go any further until i was all healed. So far so good!.Version: 3.2.4

ITouchYou can indeed add music to the playlist with an iTouch, it just seems they screwed up the code. You can select individual albums and select songs from them, but cannot choose from the entire song list, or playlists... which is tedious. I hope they fix this..Version: 0

5k appSince starting this app I have become a morning person with a passion. I look forward to my run knowing its all set for me and I push myself where as before when I set my own program I would slacken off. I recommend it to everyone I know is trying to improve there fitness.Version: 3.2.4

Fav fitness app!I used this app to get fit a while back & found myself running for 2 straight hours on my fitness runs within a few months! A foot injury sidelined me for quite some time & I stopped running. I've re-started back w/ this app a week ago & can already feel the benefits - SO looking forward to getting 5K fit & beyond! Thx guys.Version: 3.2.4

Great app all aroundExtremely intuitive and useful with a fair amount of bells and whistles. They fixed some nagging bugs since my first review and it now works great. I now run about 7Km in 40 minutes (including warm up time). So I guess it does work huh?.Version: 3.5.8

Excellent app! This has to be the best app out there. It's so interactive and I love the way it fades in and out of your own music, shows you cool maps of where you've run, and gives good stats on distance, calories, etc. This has got me running for the first time in my life!.Version: 3.2.1

Love it!I have always wanted to run... This App has helped me to get on my way! It's easy to use and I love that I can use my own playlists..Version: 3.3.2

C25K appGreat app. I was searching for an app that would help me train for a mud run and improve my over all fitness level. This has been perfect. I now enjoy getting up in the morning and going for a run. Thanks for the update to show in kilometers instead of miles..Version: 3.2.4

FantasticGreat app, turns getting into running into bite sized chunks :) love it!.Version: 3.2.4

My running buddy! This is such a great app. It's really motivating to see your run on a map, and to get a reading for the number of calories burned. Would be great to have a larger music playlist, but that's a minor quibble. It's rock solid, and when I've contacted the email support the response was really quick. The best app on my phone!.Version: 3.1.1

Great app!Fantastic app! It works really well with the Nike+ and is a good motivator to get you running again. Am up to week 8 now and still loving the app, only improvement I can suggest is a "Power song" button to play your favourite song to get you over the line for the end of your run..Version: 0

Some bugs but does the job.IPhone4 with iOS 4.2.1: This app is quite handy at keeping track of time and telling you what to do so you can concentrate on running and breathing correctly. I was surprised how quickly my minute runs went with my playlist loaded up. The app is simple to use and I found the female voice prompts pleasing as I'm a sucker for a British accent. I would have rather setup my twitter and facebook account information prior to my workout as at the gym I didn't know my random passwords for both by memory. By default it will post a general summary of what you did as your wall post or tweet but you can edit this each time. There is a journal which lets you record how ya felt, the weather that day, where you ran, distance, speed, calories burned, and your weight. This information however does not post to Facebook or Twitter. In previous releases it would allow you to email this information but that seems to be missing from the latest release. I would like to see all of this post to my Facebook wall as a way to say to all my friends, "Hey look what I did today!" Another feature I'd like to see is the ability to record my own voice prompts. An encouraging word from my partner in her own voice as a prompt might provide just the extra "oompf" I need those last few minutes of a run. This application works, doesn't crash, and is easy to use. I just graduated from it recently, and I bought the Bridge 2 10K app from the same publisher..Version: 3.1.1

Helped meThis app is the main reason I can run an under 6min/km. It does a fantastic job or working up your endurance & slowly building up the distance as well. The stats are great to see & the graphs linking your goals to past runs is helpful with continually pushing yourself. I love this app. I'm getting the bridge to 10k too..Version: 3.4

Fantastic!I have never been athletic - more of a tv addict/couch potato. I never thought I could run for more than a few mins. This app changed all that. Last summer I completed this app and went on to complete ease in to 10k! I lost weight, toned up and felt so much more confident. I am doing all over again now! Give it a go!!.Version: 3.2.4

Keeps me going!!!I love this app. I am currently on week 4 and am feeling better and better with each run. Thanks!!.Version: 3.3.2

Buy this app!I used this, (and Ease in to 10K) to run my first 5K and 10k races ever last year. I am 44, with 4 children, and I had never regularly exercised- I couldn't even run to the end of the road. But you CAN get fit and it doesn't even take too much time. Thanks for this app- I have really appreciated it..Version: 3.2.4

Ease into 5 kmAwesome.Version: 3.2.4

Best app I've hadI have never taken the time to review an app as nothing has ever impressed me so much. After over 1 year of not being able to run for more than around 10 minutes without getting an injury, I finally finished my 3rd run of 30 mins today. Thanks to this super easy to use app I feel confident to run on a regular basis injury free. It has never frozen or crashed and is so straightforward to use. The little quotes with each run are inspirational an I love running along to the playlist I added from my iTunes library. Thanks c25k for getting me running again :-).Version: 3.1.1

Love it.Easy to use and works really well for any level of activity..Version: 3.3.2

Awesome 5 years ago.Loved this and used it for years. Any plans to upgrade so it works with Apple health and Apple Watch? Or is there a newer app by Bluefin. This is by far THE best 5k training app but I would like it to integrate with my Apple devices..Version: 3.5.8

Absolutely awsome appI love this app. It is so great. It's easy to use and works amazingly. I found it great to motivate me when my head said to give up I see how long I had left until a break and push that little bit further. It lets you play your music behind and control songs from this app. I have recommended it to everyone. Love it!.Version: 3.3.4

Give it a goWhat a great idea! You can create your own playlist to listen to when you train, yet you will still hear a voice tell you when to walk or jog. Its a gradual build up each week - I found its not easy but its also not too hard. Great app!.Version: 0

Excellent!Just starting out but can't believe all the features this app has for the money. I keep pressing another button and find another chart or something I haven't seen before - really superb. Love that I can add my own playlist and still hear the instructions. One small plea - on next update any chance the voiceover could be louder. I have it on max and music at 3/4 and can barely hear the instruction when I'm outside. Overall 10/10 though..Version: 3.2.4

Recall03I love this app! Did it back in February as I was desperate to lose weight….boy did it work. Caught the runners bug after getting to the final week - have lost 19kgs and just did my first City2Surf - 14kms in 90 minutes. C25K is a great way to ease you back into exercise - before you know it you'll be calling yourself a 'runner'..Version: 3.2.1

Great TrainerPerfect for non-runners just starting out. Updates have made this an exceptional tool. Used it last year for a 5K and doing the same this summer. It doesn't even feel like you're training then you're running 5K!.Version: 3.3.3

Awesome appMy fave app! Was never able to run and started using this app and absolutely loved it. A great, fun way to ease into running either outdoors or at the gym. Love the journal - it's a really good way to track your progress over the weeks. I'm now working on extending my 30 min run to 45 mins - couldn't have done it without this app!.Version: 3.2.4

This is the one you want - you can stop looking.New update lets you create your own playlists from within the app - no more hitting a chillout recovery track halfway up a hill. Up a hill? you ask... YES it really is couch to 5k (you don't have to go up hills, use it on the treadmill if you like). Hoping for 10k one soon. Good stuff. - Get an armband..Version: 0

It's not just for beginnersI've taken 16 months off to get over some stress fractures. I've run 5 marathons, but have recently been vexed I found that if I'm not careful, I increase too much and find myself right back in the stress fx misery. Sticking to the 10% increase from a 5 km base is not hard, but how do you get from 0 to 5 km? Last time I took math, 10% of 0 is 0. C25K is a great way to get there. My biggest problem was deciding on my playlist. Once I started, I could put the phone away and let Mr Voice tell me what to do. After I hit 5 km, I plan on getting the bridge or ease to 10 km app. And from there? I'd start over with the 5 km one just to ease myself into Vibram Five Fingers or barefoot running..Version: 0

AwesomeA brilliant app! nice and challenging but achievable. I love moving onto the next level. As I don't have an iphone (just ipod) I don't get to use the whole gps distance business, but that's okay. What I'd really like is the option to delete individual journal entries. At the moment there's only the option to delete the whole lot, which i don't want to do. it just happens that there are some weird blank ones in there that i've obviously done accidentally, but i can't neaten it up and delete them without deleting everything.Version: 3.1.1

Amazing!!Love this app!!! I always thought I couldn't run. I was wrong. This app can make a runner out of just about anybody!!.Version: 3.3.3

Reviews are mixed but I love itI know the reviews are all over the place on this app so I will write to say my experience has been great with it. Over the past 4 years I've attempted the training schedule probably 5 or 6 different times without finishing (my lack of self discipline, not the app). Well, I just now finished week 6 and I really think I'm going to complete it this time. I have not experienced the technical difficulties others are describing. For like a week I couldn't get the music to advance past the first track, but then I finally figured out you have to make sure your music app itself isn't set to repeat... Otherwise the music on this app will be, too..Version: 3.5.8

Music random please!Great app, highly recommend. Doing more than i ever thought i could. Would like random music and a stretch sequence to give it a 5 star.Version: 3.2.4

GreatThis has been the best app I have bought by far! It has helped to motivate me in getting started an I have shocked myself at how well and how quick I am improving! Love the GPS as I can track my distance and the graph plots and tracks any improvements! I feel really proud of myself and would not have kept up with the running had it not been for this app! I have completed the programme but, due to having a baby, I have not been out for a while! I have started again from the beginning and have even managed to skip a few days! I recommend this app to everyone!.Version: 3.2.4

Awesome!Love this app!.Version: 3.3.3

Brilliant appHave had this app for ages but decided to finally dust of my trainers this week. Have only just completed day 2 of week 1 with my 8 year old daughter and we love it! Feel really inspired to carry on as it starts of with a very gentle introduction and will progress to longer runs over the weeks...5k here we come!.Version: 3.2.4

Great app!Extremely user friendly. Great system to use when new to running and not sure where to start..Version: 3.5.8

Great app for beginners and those making a comeback following injuryI have used this app many times for my come backs following various injuries including breaking the same bone in my right foot twice. This is an awesome app for beginners and people like me who have to start over again. Having a problem getting the music to sync with the app this time, but not really a big deal. I open my music then start the app..Version: 3.5.8

Genus!Genus! Now that the flaws are fixed (lock screen) this app works like a gem. Suggestions, somewhere to track and record run data ie: weight chart, calories burned, heart rate....Version: 0

Ease into 5kLove this app, couldn't run for more than a minute when I started and now I'm running half marathons.Version: 3.2.4

My favoriteStill my favourite run app. Just keeps getting better and better..Version: 3.3.4

Best app ever!Best app I've ever bought. Best value for money too. My 12-year-old son and I have been doing this programme for four weeks now and have progressed from out-of-breath and unfit to chatting as we run. We are doing more each week, and it is always challenging but achievable. We feel really inspired and motivated. Better than any gym membership!.Version: 3.2.4

Great!Purchased the ap two years ago and still use it several times a week..Version: 3.3.4

RunnerNoobTried a few and I liked this one best. Have fun running!.Version: 3.3.3

I am a runner!!Thank you sooooo much for creating this brilliant app - I went from dying over 90 seconds of running to doing 30 mins almost effortlessly. Best thing is how inexpensive it is and how easy it is to achieve when all you have to do is set aside 30 mins of your time. Music, notifications and additional gps features are excellent! Thank you!!.Version: 3.2.4

Love this app!I have tried different running programs for over 20 years but this is the one that has made me a runner. The intervals that gradually increase are perfect for building your endurance. I love that it uses my running playlist but tells me what I need to do like a personal trainer. The journal is fun to look back on too, to see my progress. Now I am at the 45 min runs, I am working on increasing my pace..Version: 3.3.2

Thank-you.This app changed my life. Metric would be nice, though..Version: 3.1.1

Been using this for yearsI really like this. And I love that I can put it in 60 minutes and even track a walk if I want to. Lovely app!.Version: 3.5.8

**WICKED APP**If you've never been into keeping fit and wanted to start THIS is the app for you!! Gradually builds up distance over each week but if your not quite ready then just repeat the weeks. Fantastic!! Give it a try..Version: 3.2.4

Technology makes fitness easier! This is a great app. I have started running from scratch, and love how the app makes it easy to record my progress, and keeps me motivated. I'd never have followed this programme if there wasn't a little voice in my ear telling me when to walk or run. I'm now at Wk6, and feeling fitter than ever before - definitely planning on getting all the way! I have the GPS version of the app, but I prefer the Nike+ visual pace features, so I run them both at the same time. My only major niggle is that where I have 'accidentally' started the wrong run, it shows up on my journal, and can't be deleted individually, so my progress graphs look ridiculous with lots of lines plunging to zero then up again..Version: 3.2.1

Great app!!I downloaded this app a few years ago. I started it a couple of times, but never finished. I tried it again this past summer and finally had success!! By the end of the program, I was only up to 2.5 miles in 30 minutes, so I would gradually go more each day until I made it to 3.1! This program has definitely turned me into a run addict! I even ran 6.2 miles the other day!!!! I highly recommend this app. My advice is to take it slow, and don't let one bad day or even week discourage you. If you don't feel like you are ready to move on to the next week, then don't. Give that week another try, then re-evaluate again. Just don't sell yourself short!!! Believe me when I say you are far more capable than you think you are!!! This is coming from a girl who used to DESPISE running. So much so that I would be "sick" in high school on the days I knew we had to run 2 miles at practice. Now I run 2 miles on my "short run" days! I also HIGHLY recommend that you invest in running shoes. My New Balances weren't quite cutting it, so I went to a local running store and they suggested a pair of Brooks shoes. Wow what a difference! I also recommend a good sports bra for those of us that are blessed up top. 😉 Give this program a try! You won't regret it!!.Version: 3.5.6

I ran a marathon because of this ap!8 years ago (2012) when I first downloaded this app, I went from never having run in my life and actively being one of those people who avoid sports like the plague, to believing I could run a marathon! And I did! With the help of the 0-10k or bridge to 10k and the marathon training app (also releases by this company), I progressively worked my way through all the apps over about 8months and successfully completed my first and only sporting event. But, about 4 years ago (2016), when the iPhone 6 came out with its stupid software updates that didn’t work with this app’s updates, I gave up because I couldn’t get this app to work properly on my phone. Now in 2020 with an iPhone 8 it still doesn’t work as great as it did in 2012, but I have learnt to live with the fact that you CANNOT lock your iPhone. You must keep the screen on and lock the screen within the app instead. The minute the iPhone is locked, the app stops reading out the voice commands and you will loose your place in the training. I find this irritating as I’ve accidentally locked the screen in my pocket many times when looking for the volume button. BUT, I doubt there is a better series of running apps to get a novice and unfit person like me motivated! So if you can be patient and careful NOT to LOCK your iPhone screen, it will work perfectly for you. If I could bring back the 2012 version (in which you could lock the screen and it still worked perfectly), I would give this 5 stars, instead I have to give it 4..Version: 3.5.8

Love this app!I love this app! I've had it for over 3 years and use it off and on when I'm preparing for a race or just working out. I have never had a single technical issue with it. I've used it outdoors and while on a treadmill. I used to use my playlist, but for the past year I use rock my run instead. What I love about the app is that it starts out gradually and doesn't expect you to be a "runner" on day 2. Lately I've just been using it for timed runs and distance runs. I love the flexibility that I can use it to track and log my runs without having to always follow the chronological order. I can't recommend this app any more highly!.Version: 3.5.8

Funtastic AppI second everything said by Miss McGovern. Love it! So cheap to get in shape on your own schedule! My only wish now is that it would have the option to shuffle my playlist, and maybe include some recommended stretches in as part of the program somehow. Great app, visually appealing..Version: 3.2.4

Love It!This is my second time following this app. It's been modified a little so I can't quite comment on the new version yet, but I'm finished week 4 and going strong! This app makes me feel accomplished and successful, which motivates me to keep going. So glad I found this app, I'd have never started running otherwise!.Version: 3.3.3

Fab appReally enjoying doing this. The app seems to know exactly how long I can run for cos just when I think I can't do anymore it's time to walk again. If a totally unfit and rather cuddly mum of 2 can do it anyone can.Version: 3.2.4

Great Ap & it works!!I have lost weight and improved in my fitness level thanks to this Ap! It is so effective in easing / challenging yourself to be able to run further and further! I replaced my phone and was also impressed that I didn't have to pay again to install it onto my new iPhone! I have already gotten several friends onto Ease into 5kms (formally Couch2 5ks!.Version: 3.2.4

ReviewLove this app. It had motivated a non-runner into a 5km+ runner. Since beginning running with this app, I have logged over 600kms. Stats are very motivating!.Version: 3.3.4

Great appI have used this app on and off for 3 or so years. I've never had an issue with it, but I also use it for the very basics. I don't post to Facebook nor do I use the GPS feature as my iPod does not have that capability. I would definitely recommend this to someone starting out!.Version: 3.5.8

I LOVE This AppI can run. Properly. 3 times a week. That makes me a runner, right? Seriously, it's all down to this app. I started in much the same way as most, puffing and panting through day 1's intervals praying for it to end. I finished the program just before Christmas and I've continued to use the app 3 times a week. This app is suited very much to those who have never run, easing you in fairly gently with run/walk intervals guided by a voice command. The run intervals getting progressively longer over the 8 week course until you are running the entire workout. You can play your own music through the app and if you purchase very reasonably, the gps facility, the app will record all of the details of your run and keep these logged for reference. If you are interested I'm starting to run, I promise you won't regret buying this..Version: 3.2.4

A great little app with some scope for improvementHave been using this app for 4 weeks and found it very useful. No issues encountered so far. However, would be great if the app gave more warning of transition from walk to run and visa versa. Also, it would be excellent if it used GPS to report distance travelled and current pace. Not necessary really to track route although one app to do all these things would be awesome. Would be good to be able to change orientation of screen for when used with an arm holder. Finally, if it reported how far you were through current walk/run, eg 1 minute of 3 minute run completed, it would be an almost perfect app. As a running training app for a novice it's great. Can see it being a good platform for allowing other training programs to be bought (c28k, c210k, half marathon etc) using apple's new pricing schemes..Version: 0

Life changingI hate running. It's boring. It's unpleasant. There's nothing to do. Nothin to look at especially at a gym and if your outside its cold and when you've had enough your miles from your house. This app changed all that for me. It's easy, more interesting and makes you push harder and I've achieved more than ever before. I'm on week 6 and each day I look at it and think "I'll never do that" and I do and I'm dead proud. Awesome work. Simply fantastic. If you hate running and wanna lose weight, you'll never regret it..Version: 3.3.4

Great App!!Helped me master my first 5 K, great for beginners!!.Version: 3.3.3

Solid appI used this ten years ago when I first got into running 5k. Now I’m opening it up again after a few years off. It’s as effective as I remember..Version: 3.5.8

The Best App everAs a none runner I was looking for a way to increase my fitness and had always relied on walking. I heard about the app in a Weight Watchers blog and thought if they can do it surely I can and I can do it at my own pace. I love my half hour run and it's all thanks to C25K..Version: 3.2.4

Great to start runningI never thought I'd enjoy running. The idea was preposterous. I always wanted to be able to run but never thought I'd do it. I bought this app about 5 years before I ever used it. Since starting I never looked back and am hooked on running, doing 5km 3 times a week. The ONLY bugbear is it stops working if the screen is locked. The app itself will keep the screen from auto lock but simply putting the phone into your belt can cause an accidental lock which results in you not knowing when to start running. If it weren't for this it would get 5 stars..Version: 3.5.8

Ease into 5k is a great appI have experienced having to start my music before the app, as others have said. But that is a tiny issue. I love the program. I am gradually building stamina to run more each day. Thank you, bluefin for helping me stay strong..Version: 3.5.8

Not a runner👍I am by far no runner but I knew I had to change my work out to challenge myself. The app is awesome. I could not be any more satisfied with it. Thanks Bluefin.Version: 3.5.8

Worth the tiny investment!I've just had my second baby, and while I have run in the past, my fitness is at its lowest in years. This app is helping me get back to where I was gradually, and without hurting myself. I've set a goal of a 5k fun run in 8 weeks time, and after only 2 weeks using this app I'm sure I'll get there no worries. I'm not usually one to buy apps, but think of how much you spend on gym memberships, $3 is nothing!.Version: 3.2.4

Works well - earlier bugs seem to have been ironed outFound this app much better than other similarly priced apps. GPS works well, I like being able to chart my progress. If there was some way the music selection could match tempos with running and walking that would make this app perfect..Version: 3.2.4

A very useful appIn all honesty, any app that follows this kind of structured progression would rate well; this one does exactly as it promises. I used it to get me jogging, now I'm using it to help improve my speed. It works for both. I look forward to my first sub-30 minute 5k, and then to a progression to 10k.Version: 3.3.3

Great motivational app!I'm getting back into running after having my 2nd child. I was a runner before the 1st child and tried to get back into running after she was born and really struggled with keeping motivated and running just became a chore rather than something to enjoy. This time around its so much easier because this app is helping me build up at a manageable pace. I'm back into loving running again!.Version: 3.2.4
