✓ Still has a long way to go!Available for free currently so thought I'd download it as I was in the mkt for a good loan/mtge calculator. Does this help? To a degree but there are a number of issues, namely: 1) no option to enter additional payments in stages or at various points during the year, rather than 1 block payment or series of payments over the whole year 2) an option to allow an overpayment of X% rather than an amount, as a number of lenders allow a % of the loan to be repaid without charges 3) different types of loan/mtge, ie interest only, fixed rate, repayment etc... 4) option to miss payments, ie pay mth 1 - 5 then miss 1 or 2 months then continue paying, no option to then 1st input this option and 2nd no calculations of what the additional monthly's would be to get back on-track or if not then what will be the extra interest payable 5) an option to allow variable additional payments to be made rather than just 1 amount, also if the payment was done at the start of the year or at any other time during the yr this s/ware would NOT be able to calculate correctly as it only allows you to input 1 payment made during the year but does not specify the payment date! 6) no option to allow you to input the start date of mtge/loan and when the 1st payments will be made, in most cases a loan would be taken out at anytime during the mth and the 1st payment would be the 1st day of the following mth or 30 days later. can't handle this at all! Due to the huge number of omissions i have marked/rated it accordingly, once this has been updated or corrected in any future updates, i will revise my review! I am going to have a play with the s/ware to compare the accuracy of the data with a "proper" pc based mtge calculator, I will compare and come back to review further, unfortunately if the accuracy isn't there i can't rate this as a 0 star item!!! Just tested it from home and found that the loan calculations are spot-on! The previous reviewer mentioned you cannot rely upon the figures but that is not the case any longer, they were reviewing 1.6 and SVT must've taken his comments on-board as the calc'ns are correct now. I have no idea if they were right/wrong before however. But found a few more issues: 1) loan amount cannot be in pence even though on the screen it shows as £XX.XX - why have a pence section when you cannot place a decimal place? 2) cannot have fractions of a month as the payment period, on occasions loans are not for the full 12 yrs & 6 months they're for 12 yrs, 6 months & 10 days say, cannot input the fraction that is about all, as the calc'ns are correct i am increasing my rating from 1* which i had earlier today to 2* as the app'n is free also. if the developers bring in the other options and sort out the issues i am sure this will be a 4 or 5* appn and i will rate accordingly at that time. Just downloaded the latest version 1.8 - have the developers listened to any of the reviewers??? NO is the simple answer, NONE of the points i mentioned above have been fixed, nor other comments other reviewers have said, i've now reduced my rating to 1* due to lack of support from the developers.Version: 0
✓ Pretty Good Loan CalculatorOverall, this is a simple, easy to use loan calculator. Most users will find the interface appealing to the eye. I have only a few suggestions for the developer: 1. When selecting a loan on the "Favorites" screen, I would prefer the program take me directly to the calculator screen for that particular loan. 2. Allow for thousandths when inputting a loan interest rate, i.e., instead of 6.12%, allow for 6.125%, as is the case with my mortgage. 3. Allow for a one-time payment of a particular loan. 4. A pie chart page for principle and interest would be helpful also..Version: 0
✓ Little disappointedSince it let's you save the loans, it should let you add pmi insurance and other escro right to the loan. Also being able to set up different styles of loans would be nice too, ex. Balloons, or loans where you make bi-monthly payments rather than monthly. If there were a lite version of this available I would have known this ahead of time and not purchased, this is the reason for the one star..Version: 0
✓ Really Like App..very useful....butHave used this app for a variety of reasons (especially handy when car shopping sitting @ the salesman’s desk). Latest update crashes on my I-touch. Everything is fine until I enter the interest rate...then it closes. I also believe this version erased my saved files (I can no longer get to them). Please fix..Version: 0
✓ InaccurateHaving tried this application, I am afraid it produces inaccurate calculations. As a financial adviser, I also use software that calculates repayment mortgages, but thought this would be good as a quick guide when talking to clients. Sadly I cannot and the app is effectively useless. I thought initially that the problem might be related to whether interest is calculated daily or yearly, but the discrepancies on the mortgages I have compared is too great for that to be the answer. ✓ Very nice, but edits need additional programmingThere is no way to apply an additional payment to multiple monthly payments. For example, to add additional payments onto four years worth of payments in a loan, it would require 48 edits. Or you can add the extra payment option in the calculator screen, but then there's no way to mark a lesser amount paid than the sum of the regular payment plus extra payment for the entire life of the loan, limiting that feature's usefulness to pre-loan calculations only. I sent an email to the dev requesting additional capability, hopefully he will respond..Version: 3.1

✓ Free App - Limited SuperiorityThe developer dropped the price to free in exchange for a review. The advantage of this app is that it allows one to save any number of loan scenarios and it allows one to calculate the pre-tax interest saved if the loan is pre-paid by a fixed amount each month or year. The short comings of this app are that there is no calculation for post-tax interest (which is really the more realistic scenario) and the amortization schedule provides no cummulative amounts and forces you to to convert months to years. For my purposes and needs I will not be keeping this app on my phone..Version: 0
✓ Decent enough, not greatDoes standard ammortization calculation, but nothing special. If it had the ability to specify additional payments on a month by month basis and recalculate then it might be useful. I don't add $100 to my payment eah month. Sometimes I add $2000, other times $200, other times nothing. My spreadsheet will still be my main loan calculator until I find an app that let's me track my loan like this..Version: 0
✓ Refer a friend?It would be to to calculate things like my student loans. I rather do not agree with refering a friend about this app since I do not know many people who have an iPod Touch like I do. Most people have iPhones which I do not have their info to send this since I am an iPod Touch user..Version: 0
✓ Very good but ...The payment numbers need to be replaced (optional) with months. Also, the icon is really, really poor! The general design could be lifted into the 21st century but is not as awful as the app icon. Function and usability are 5 stars though..Version: 0

✓ Needs extra featuresBought this app so I could do quick quotes whilst talking to someone but it hasn't got the option of interest only which is daft. When you put in the loan details it should show you 2 repayments: 1) interest only 2) capital & repayment Without the interest only option this app isn't really worth buying.Version: 0

✓ Just a simple loan calculatorThe application can perform a simple loan calculation and show the amortization table as other application do. However, if you try to use the extra monthly or yearly payments you will fall in a loop of NaN errors. This functionality was not tested properly. The functionality of storing loans is confusing, as it is not clear what loan will draw in the table. In addition, if you attempt to overwrite a saved loan you will get two loan entries with the same name. Also confusing..Version: 0

✓ Not Quite ThereI thought this was the number 1 app for a reason and it's the wrong reason. People are getting duped into buying this lack luster app. First of all there is not a seperate screen for the different types of loans, eg. Auto Loans. Normally you would want to have a place to enter-in a sales tax and down payment. to help figure in the total cost of the loan. Well there is not, you still have to do that math in your head or just switch over to the iPhones built in calculator and do it there. Second, I have plugged in a couple of loan calculations after all the extra figuring I had to do, saved it, then went back to retrieve it from the "saved" loans and what do you know...It didn't save it, and only displayed the default "Home" loan when you launch the app for the first time..Version: 0

✓ ERRORNice and simple - I like. Errors - I do not like, in fact, they are inexcusable. When I add $1200 extra per month, the total loan cost more than if I add only $1000 extra per month. Loan amount $150,000 for 15 years at 4.750% interest plus $1000 extra per month = 8 yr & 2 mo payoff When changed to $1200 extra per month, the payoff = 8 yr & 10 mo ERROR - ERROR - ERROR - INEXCUSABLE.Version: 0
