✓ Great App with good controlsI've been using this App for about 16 months now and has always worked very well. The only problem is I moved house and the broadband up speed is a lot less on upload and now the picture quality is not very good due to my 334 K/b up speed. I used to be on 1.5 M up speed and that meant I could use the Sling Catcher box on a HD TV and looked very impressive. Now I can only use the Sling catcher across my home network to have any real quality. Not the fault of Sling box just the local infrastructure. If you’ve compared TV Catchup to this for quality and found TV catchup better then it’s down to your upload speed with your Broadband provider, if you appreciate TV Catchup has very large bandwidth and great servers..Version: 1.2

✓ A Good Buy!I heard about Slingbox's around about a year ago and i thought it sounded like a pretty cool product, and then when the app came out i was very tempted to buy one but i was put off by the fact that it only worked through wifi which to me kind of defeated the point of being able to watch tv 'anywhere'. Then, when i heard that the app supported 3G i decided to go for it and i was not disappointed. The 3G (and wifi) seem to work great so i would highly recommend it. The setting up of the slingbox can take some time if you dont know what your doing but the support staff at slingmedia are excellent and they will have it working in no time..Version: 0

AT&T in the US have stated that they requested that the ability to use 3G be removed. However, I don't see why their decision should affect UK users on a different network (O2). ✓ Working with my Slingbox Classic!Just bought this on the off-chance I wouldn't need to upgrade my Classic box and was pleasantly surprised to find it was supported. Worked straight off, seems stable and really looks the business and overall I've been pretty impressed once I got over the hefty price. BTW, for any fellow Sky+ users who, like myself, balked at the lack of Red/ Green/ Yellow/ Blue buttons, they're actually hidden away on the Remote Control overlay- open that up and scroll left or right to access the extra controls..Version: 0
✓ Good but could be betterI used my slingbox in France. It was great when I could get it to work. Picture could be better but I was pleased just to get a picture. Sometimes I just could not switch our tv device on in the UK which was very frustrating. Experience told me that if I could reboot the slingbox it would have helped so being able to do this thro slingbox would be good. I got a neighbour to do it or me once! I find the infrared connectors the weakest part of this device. Good when they work well. I use my iPhone app on my ipad and it works very well..Version: 3.5.10

✓ Great appI have now got 2 sling boxes as iPad needed newer model to use iPad app, receive old sling box on iPhone and iPad 2. On the iPad have iPad sling box app. Both work really well, obviously the iPad app works better but watch ability is good on both. However it does depend on the streaming strength! I've had good and not so good but when abroad and you want to watch your own tv there's nothing to beat it yet. Have used it in the U.S Tenerife Egypt and of course the uk. If you have a sports mad partner who'll go out looking for sky etc to watch sport here's your answer, got to see that soap record it and watch it back at your leisure..Version: 3.1

✓ Pricey and not fantastic...yetWorks with my Classic which it says it may be won't - letter box or standard view are not quite right to the screen size. And where the hell is the support for 3G watching - All the other smart phones on O2 can use 3G. It makes it kind of point less as if I've got a wifi signal I can just use my laptop. And £18 is a joke. That said I'm watching tv in my bathroom on my iphone which is pretty cool. Get the updates rolled out and could have the awesome app we all want. ✓ Rather big dissapointment.I was waiting for this app long time and even the fact that will be only on wifi did not bother me too much. What really disappoint me it was price because why should I pay for app if I paid for box? That's a rip off and slap in face for iPhone users since on other platforms it's free and with 3G. That's joke. Then quality is not good with present codec and it's look like 5 fps for me. Other thing there is no option of full screen and that is just silly. One thing is good and that's sound. If there are several wifi devices being used on the same router the quality suffers a bit but that's not the app's problem. However Apple or AT&T are shooting themselves in the foot by disabling 3G usage! This is only going to lead to more people curcumventing the software to enable this, something I won't do and don't recommend. SlingPlayer Mobile works over 3G on the Blackberry/ Windows Mobile Phones! They are worse phones yet they can run the same app over the same cellular network as us iPhone users! How does this work!! With that said, this great app (and ultimately device) does everything it promises: it brings your TV to your iphone! Sure, the video is a little grainy and the control aspect (i.e. changing channels) is a little slow, but we're talking about an app that allows you to watch your TV on the go - it doesn't need to be perfect. ✓ Updated - Version 1.1 Won't work properly on Slingbox Classic.This version added screen expansion for Solo devices on up, but not for the Classic of course. Also, I found the only way to change the channel on my Classic with this new version was via the cable box guide - the swipes no longer work. Pull the old version out of your trash if you've already updated in error, delete the new one in your Apps listing, and then drag the old one back in. You'll be up and running on your Classic again. Of course, it only works on Wifi----sorry, no 3G. However, if you love your Slingbox like I do, the thought of not having to carry around a laptop when you go away on a trip is very exciting. The product works well. I have to say that I have not invested in a new Slingbox. I still have the Slingbox AV from a couple years ago. It says it's not supported, but it does work fine. Guess they mean -- not officially supported. I still will get a newer Slingbox at some point. Guess a new one will give better quality for streaming. I did have a few "Buffering" dropouts within my home. (Which I never get from a laptop loaded with Slingplayer. However, I have tested different scenarios yet. (Where in the house?, etc.) Wifi from another location works well too....no complaints. I will give Sling great credit with the interface. It was likely their biggest challenge on a device without physical buttons. The placement for things is very logical, and even with the expected lag once actions are demanded, it's fun to control. I do wish however, that there be an option to disable the swiping left/right and up/down for channel changes. I have a habit of accidentally changing channels frequently enough. ✓ Great AppI constantly work abroad, and have had a slingbox for 2 years, i love being able to watch match of the day and other programmes whilst away on a job. When i read reviews of this app, i was a bit hesitant, and have waited for the updated version before buying. Yes it is expensive, but i find all the criticisms below nit-picking, this is a great app, and i was able to watch tv on my iphone on the hotel wi-fi at the same quality im used to on my laptop. ✓ Back and very happy!UPDATE: 15 Dec Been using since the latest update to software on iPhone 5 with Slingbox Solo. The HQ issue has now been fixed and the app is back to what I would expect. Good quality video and full screen too. Only thing to be aware of, is to watch you'll need a good signal strength, otherwise you'll experience regular buffering issues. I have consistently found the telephone support to be excellent. Prefer app to be free with the cost of the Slingbox, which prevents 5 stars. Previous review: This used to be a solid app until IOS 6.0 was released. Previously my only issue was regular buffering of the video on 3G, which was rather frustrating. On Wi-Fi the video quality was more than acceptable and there was no breakup. However since IOS 6.0, all I can now get is SQ quality, which is not in anyway good enough video quality. This set against the price of the app, which is not cheap! This issue has been going on for a couple of weeks now and is frustrating to say the least. One would've expected it to have been fixed by now. Interestingly, there is no reference to this in the write-up provided by Sling of the app. So those purchasing it now, would be none the wiser. ✓ SlingplayerMy first review. It's a great app I can now watch the telli on my phone. A few bugs. First you can only use on wifi it is blocked on 3g though there is a workaround. If you are linked via Sky you can't get into 'anytime' because there is no red button. And you can't get at your recorded playlist because there is no red button. This app is awesome but for 18 quid some one should iron out the bugs and not leave them for people like me to sort for themselvs. FYI Iv fixed the problems but for the anytime. ✓ Wicked!!!Finally they've sorted out a 3G connection!! I have found the streaming to be very good. I watched skysports for around 3 hours nonstop and it did not cut off or pause once. Excellent software, I was even watching my sky+ while I was away in Greece! Although the hotel had free wifi and it Worked perfectly!! Regarding a review a few posts down, slingplayer DOES work in the UK on O2 through 3G. I have been using it for the past week. I'm not sure why O2 said no to the user..Version: 0

But I'm convinced the will of the customers will eventually see it introduced, i certainly bought it fully in the know of its 3G limitation. But for this app itself, the way it's been executed with the so simple setup and slick control of your satellite box (or V box etc) is simply a delight. I'm blown away that live tv is finally a simple reality. I personally think that the price is perfectly acceptable for what i get out of it. ✓ Great appGot slingbox pro for Christmas and quickly purchased this app, works great and having tried it on 3g aswell it is the business my location helps as the signal in my area is really good and I work at Edinburgh airport so the wifi and 3g signals are off good quality. ✓ Using Slingbox classic and Sky+I really love this app, I no longer need to miss my favourite TV even if I'm away from home. The interface on this new version is far more polished than before and initial connection to the device seems far better than it was in the past. Oddly though the pg Up and pg Down buttons on the D-Pad seem to be disabled, although they are still there, this wasn't the same on the old version where the 2 buttons were very useful for paging through the channels on the EPG..Version: 2.0

✓ The smell of excellenceFinally one of the most-needed applications (if you're a Slingbox owner, that is) comes to the iPhone. You'll already be familiar with what Slingplayer does, so no explanation is necessary, suffice to say that it works just great and just like you'd expect. The touch interface works well and is east to get used to. Despite the warning that older Slingboxes are not supported, I found it worked just fine with my Classic. The price is a little on the high side, although comprable with the same app on some lesser mobile platforms I could mention -- although even the lesser platforms allow you to stream over your 3G connection (which, by the way, you pay for) and do not restrict you to wi-fi only. Thumbs down to the authorities who forced Sling to remove that feature for the iPhone version, and here's hoping that they see sense soon, to make this even more of an essential app..Version: 0

✓ Needs 3G to be a Killer AppIt can be difficult to set up your Slingbox, but once done this App linked fine first time (and does so every time for me). Expensive App, but it does work. The full screen stretch needs sorting, but most of all it needs to work on 3G in the UK. Having said that it's a smart App and it's really amazing to think you can watch Sky and recorded Skyplus programs from a phone! The developers need to keep on with the improvements and talk to Apple and O2 to resolve the 3G issue..Version: 0
✓ Works fine on iPhone 4I've been using Slingplayer/Slingbox with a freeview box to watch TV on my MacBook (wifi) without problems and now I'm able to watch with my phone. Works fine and I'm able to watch UK TV when I'm abroad which was my main reason for getting Slingbox. ✓ Great appHaving played around with this app for a couple of days and got all the settings right I have to say this is a great app! Watched a 1 hour episode of lost last night during my break on nights and it was impressive. Great quality, and ran through pretty much the whole hour problem free. It will get better with updates as others have mentioned. I tend to think if it was on 3g then the streaming may not be as slick... But it would be nice to have the option... Maybe soon who knows. ✓ Coooooooool!This is gonna make me almost live my life on my iPhone. The pic is not perfect, but easily as good as any mobile media I've ever seen (and hey the technology is streaming a live feed here!). 3g service will only increase my usage if it comes soon (please!). Was hesitant to pay the 18 quid, but chuffed i did... Thanks to the SlingMedia people, this is a cool service/app. I think I might be needing to recharge my iPhone more often if I keep using it to watch tv now!!!.Version: 0
✓ Great APPI live in Canada and could care less about the 3G end of this as the air rates here are absolutely ridiculous anyway and would cost a small fortune to stream anything with our providers but it works great out on our balcony so I don't miss anything. It's very clear and easy to setup, great picture. My husband tried it in the bathroom while shaving... very nice, so it fits the bill for us!.Version: 0
✓ Great App - shame about 3GThis long awaited app is finally here and it is a very good app. The reviews from people saying it doesn't work with sky+ or skyHD are wrong. When you click on the remote symbol and scroll left or rightit it has all the buttons you need to navigate. The only thing that needs to be improved is the aspect ratio as it is stupid we have this nice large screen and it's not being filled. The 3G thing is really annoying considering that the 3 network with the Nokia phones had slingplayer on their 3G package. I think we all need to keep pushing this including Slingmedia to get this changed. This I am sure will increase the amount of people who will purchase the slingplayer as well..Version: 0
