✓ Amazing value, a real gem in the App Store!Absolutely invaluable in preparing for a visit to Paris... I downloaded about 10 free Paris-related apps last week and this is by far the most useful. The app has a map function that allows you to place pins and make your own lists of attractions, choosing different colour pins for different categories. It has basic information for restaurants & tourist attractions - opening hours, whether wifi is available, top tips, photos and a link to the Wikipedia article! It also has recommendations to help you discover new places based on your own preferences (you can select things like nightlife, family friendly, vegetarian, places of beauty, etc) No obtrusive adverts and it doesn't constantly try and get you to pay for an upgrade. And it's available offline (well the map part is, including the information for each attraction - the recommendations aren't, but that's hardly surprising!). If you're going to Paris then download this now! I absolutely wouldn't be without it!!.Version: 11

✓ Made my tripWas in Paris for 3 days, since I didn't have 3G access while there this app was a must and really made my trip. I just walked around randomly without worry of getting lost, whenever I wanted to find out more about my area there was always great wikipedia descriptions. Could it be better? Of course, but overall VERY useful and I had one of my best touristic experiences thanks to it. P.s subway maps was also very useful, at one station the stop was closed for renovation for 2 months so I lost a bit of time....always try to check official maps at stations to avoid this. ✓ Great appI can't believe the people that are moaning about this app having information from Wikipedia. It just costs 59p. If you want a more detailed guide go and buy others for £5. I used this app on a weekend trip to Paris. It was great. Thanks to the pre-loaded maps and the GPS location feature, we were never lost and could easily find quick shortcuts while walking around the city and could find the nearest Metro stations. For this price, I think it gives good information. The main purpose of this app is having all the information(including Wikipedia descriptions), maps pre-loaded so you don't have to use your phone's data services while roaming. If this is what you are looking for, just do it. If you are looking for a detailed guide with travel tips etc, pay some more and try another app..Version: 0

✓ Best travel app bar none.Used this app twice and it's just great. The offline roaming is indispensable and when you just want to walk around and see the sights you can be sure you never get lost. The metro app tells you what's near you and what's near the major sights to help you get where you need to be. Whilst its only Wikipedia articles they are comprehensive and informative and sitting in the hotel reading in depth about what we've seen is great. Only complaint is that the restaurants aren't entirely up to date so we ended up walking to somewhere that didn't exist but luckily found somewhere even better! Completely recommend! ✓ Absolutely mandatory for ParisThis app was extremely helpful in navigating the city of Paris on foot, by bus and especially the metro. Using the cellphone location I was doing able to do this without a dataplan offline. Had sometimes to walk when I popped out of the subway and had no clue which direction I was going. I ended getting rid of the paper map on my second day. Would be great if the metro stations were clearer and the physical map highlighted the closest stations. The location based functionality works properly as it should unlike many other offline maps. You get both your GPS location + you get the compass information so you know which way you are pointing. This is fabulous when you come out of a metro/subway in a foreign city like Paris and you don't know which way you are facing compared to a map. All the other offline maps I've tried don't do this properly. Well done. The location based tourist attractions are also great. I would wonder out of a tourist attraction and just look up what else is in the area. Wonderful way to travel. Great price! Request: Now we just need it for even more cities. Then I added museums, chocolate shops, etc. Then I realized I could add notes to all these places. All of these are found on a the map by icon. And are also identified in different lists that I've named so it means something to me. Now my map looks like a myriad of different icons and colors and I've got about 7 different lists. Coming from across the Atlantic to visit but not having much data in my roaming package, this worked great for finding locations of restaurants and attractions. The built-in Metro map was also handy. It takes a couple minutes to coordinate the Metro tags on the regular map with the Metro map but is totally workable. The only improvement I could see would be to link the two maps. As I did my research, I bookmarked all the landmarks, restaurants, cafes, gardens, hidden passages and patisseries that looked interesting, with notes and links to the review or menu. It was so helpful as we wandered the city, to look at the app to find, “hey, we’re just around the corner from…” I told so many people about it. Now, 2 years later, as we plan another trip, it seems buggy. The map keeps disappearing. I go to see a location I pinned, and nothing. An absolute bargain at $1.19. With the latest update this travel guide is nearly perfect now with the addition of Retina Display support & a badly needed offline metro map !!! Brilliant and cleverly done because all your POI's now come up with the nearest metro station so you know exactly where you're going. All the locations of metro stations are clearly marked on the regular offline map with purple dots and of course you have a GPS locator function to navigate your way around without the need of a 3G or Wi/Fi connection. ✓ ExcellentI used this app for five weeks in Paris (and France). The more I used it the more I liked it. I was able to record where I was staying and places that I wanted to visit before I left home. The city of Paris had street numbers for every building which made locating places very easy and accurate. I paid for the map of Paris and got oodles of other maps of France (and elsewhere) at no additional cost and which worked together seamlessly. The maps allowed me to mark where the car was parked which was essential in a country that has not a single square block or straight road. If I wanted to find the nearest train or metro station I used the locate button to tell me where I was and could very quickly find the station on the map and figure out which direction to walk. In Reims, a city with incredibly narrow streets, mostly one way streets, a lot of dead end streets and bollards and retracting bollards another app couldn’t calculate the directions on how to drive to the hotel that we had found by walking. By studying the map for a few minutes I figured out the route and got there without mishap or delay. Kudos! Need to find a toilet, check the map. Don’t have a clue where you are in the Louvre, use the locate button. Want to record the entrance way location to something for tomorrow, use the save button. Want to know the distance to some museum, click the star. Need to find a station service (because of a flat tire), enter station service. The only place the app was of limited use was in Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris, but I would still be lost in that cemetery if I hadn’t had this app. And do be aware that when the black line shows up between the exit and the roadway on the map it is too late to exit. This app is now essential and primary on all my travels..Version: 8.1.1

One of the best features was the silhouettes of buildings, which made it really easy to figure out how far along a street you were. We walked from Gare du Nord to the Sacre Coeur easily with the map and knew all the Metro stops we needed. Flicking between the land map and the Metro map is really helpful, so is the relatively brief guides on main attractions. Who cares if it's Wiki? Having it available offline is way cheaper than racking up data roaming charges in Europe! You can search for the sites/locations you want to visit, save them so they will always be starred on your map, and a detailed metro map is also available so you can pre-plan routes around and follow your journey. ✓ Very useful appWhen I was on holiday in Paris a few weeks back I loaded this app to help me find my way around. It proved to be very useful. The main advantage of this app over many others is that it's completely offline, meaning no need for 3G or wifi. By far the most useful feature is the 'nearby metro' option, showing you which metro stations, and by extension which lines are nearby any place you look at on the map. The map is also searchable so when I got myself a bit lost trying to find somewhere, I just typed in the street names around me and was able to find my way. Only feature missing is a route planner/directions - both on foot/car and metro. That would allow me to pick a departure station (or even use my location) and select a destination and the app determines the best route, tells me what lines to get (and the direction) and where to get off etc..Version: 3.5.3

This app is well worth the fee, I would recommend it to anyone. The wiki pages are great, so much information at your fingertips, I didn't need a guidebook at all! I had the following comments which is all that stopped me from rating 5*, they are the same for Rome and Venice which I intend to rate also: 1) I have an iPod so no gps/gsm so the locate option doesn't work. It would be nice if you could locate yourself so that iPod users can use the 'nearby' tool. Maybe there is a way but I can't find it. 2) when you tap on an item on screen and get an 'i' button indicating that there is info tagged to the map, it is very difficult to click on it. Seriously, this app was a LIFE SAVER! We intended on using the Metro during most of our stay, which this app also give “closest metro stops” to sites, however with the strikes going on we basically walked the city. We couldn’t have done it without the help of this app. Before our trip I downloaded it & starred/saved all our points of interest we planned on visiting.
