✓ Solid gameHere are a few features that in an ipod update would make this game spectacular! First off a few weapons/items would be fun to play around with a land mine or time bomb some kind of nitro or a demon vehicle that just crushes other vehicles. A few tricks would be awesome like frontflip, 360 that give you a short speed boost. Also I don't really like the menu how you can customize it so much you should make a customizable menu for "quick play" but the real levels where you unlock things should just be by themselfs and not be able to change how many cars etc. Also please add more levels and cars their isnt enough . Also more objects that you can destroy other than those boring old ones/pylons If you do any one of these things I will atomaticaly change my rating to 5 stars.Version: 0
✓ A 5 star game with a fatal error?While this is a really fun and enjoyable game, I seem to have a bug which I cannot ignore - on some levels when the game finished I cannot push the 'continue' button. This means I cannot complete the levels to reap the rewards I just earned. In fact mid way through a race when I tap to break or tap to change view it doesn't seem to work. It seems as though the touch function is deactivated randomly through random levels. I have tried redownloaing the app/game to no avail. I wonder if anyone else has the same problem?I'll give it 5 stars if I figure out it was my fault or if they fix this bug..Version: 0
✓ Needs improvementTo be a decent game you need to definitely improve the controls, they are pretty much horrible. The game music & voice definitely need to be re looked at cause they are annoying! The different levels need characteristics that make them really stand out from each other, each level is basically the same with different colors(except the desert level, that one actually has different terrain!!) Otherwise great idea for a game, it is fun, but controls make it frustrating to play.Version: 2.5

✓ It's nice but...This is a good game that I would recommend buying although keep in mind that it is a little buggy. Sometimes the games touch screen controls will stop working but, you will still be able to steer so you will not know that the controls have stopped working until you use the breaks (which I don't use very often), pause(which I don't do very much), or get to the end of the race to find out that you can't continue so you have to restart the app and do the race again. This can be very frustrating considering that some races are 8 minutes long or longer. I have had to restart one of these races 4 times because of this. I also find this game very easy other then the gate challenge which can get very hard. I beat the "final jam contest round #2" (which is fairly far in to the game) with the Beetle (which is the first vehicle you get.) The reason I give this a 3/5 is because it has good graphics and music. I find it enjoyable even with all the problems discribed above. I also like how all the vehicles handle differently unlike other racing games were the only difference between vehicles is how fast they drive. ------------for the next update------------- — a difficulty setting (easy, medium, hard.) —better AI- I think the reason it is so easy to win races is because the AI players are always right beside each other slowing each other down making it very easy for me to win. —have the game play more than just the one song during a race listening to the same song over and over again during the same race gets boring and repetitive. That is all for my reveiw I hope it helps make the game better and I hope it helps you decide whether or not you want to buy the game. (I hope you do buy it.).Version: 0

✓ Misleading & DissapointingThe graphics, controls and challenge are a lot of fun; all of which prompted me to upgrade from the lite version to the paid version. I was really disappointed to learn after I paid and tried the paid version that the ads in the lite version advertising the multiple vehicle and terrain choices are only available after passing multiple courses with top scores. I'm not a gamer at all and thought this game was just fun to drive around jumping and crashing - I feel gypped spending $1.99 to get a crappier vehicle on the same course as the lite version. On the other hand, if your a gamer and not interested in idly passing the time with entertaining bumps jumps and wrecks.. This would serve as a challenging game..Version: 2.6

✓ :'(I think that the graphics and idea of this game are amazing. But it is let down by a lack of control and the fact that all the other cars are faster than yours!! :'( Also, when you steer (if it works) then it always steers too far and your end up spinning or over turning. I am very dissapointed in this app as i was looking forward to driving a Baja Beetle </3 Oh Well, I guess not all apps can be perfect. Wit tthe new update, the current mission I am on costs 1500 not 250!! I went to complete another mission with the peakclimber to make more money and I lost because the peakclimber is WAY to sensitive now. With te slightest tilt of the phone, the car literally turns 100 degrees. It is impossible to control this car. Please fix it! ✓ Bugs like crazy!!This game has way too many bugs. When i first started my career i reached 6k money... I then closed out of the app and reopened it only to find all my money gone. So i started a new profile, low and behold i had a similar issue i lost a majority of my money and the 2 cars i purchased. This game is fun but fix the bugs, its rediculous that i have to keep starting a new profile over and over again. As other issues are concerned when i turn too sharp my car either slows down to a crawl or flips...the physics engine needs to be tweaked and you need to fix the "substantial loss in speed after sharp turn" issue. ✓ Sort it out.Well this app could be very good apart from a few niggles that need to be ironed out, First the physics, the cars roll far to easily, the amount of times ive been on the final straight and been glanced by an opponent, spun out thus losing the race. The calibration is a MUST fix as this ruins everything, once the physics and the calibration are fixed this could be awesome, but untill then I won't be playing, and it's not worth the money untill the issues are sorted out..Version: 0
✓ What happened???I've had and enjoyed this game for some time, but all of a sudden, when I try to play, the controls are grayed out and it days 'locked' with no further explanation! After some frustrated clicking, it looks like I now need to earn money to buy the cars, tracks, etc, that I used before the last update. Who's idiotic idea was this???!? --My original review before this bad update:-- Unlike all the other driving games for the iPhone/iPod, this is the only one I've found that doesn't impose a strict track to follow, making the others little more than glorified slot car games. My only real issue is the braking: it's actually a reverse, so the it just gradually lowers the speed of the vehicle. Having reverse is nice, but it doesn't behave like a brake (the wheels never lock up, it's not strong enough, etc.). There's a "brake assist" feature on the settings page, but as far as I can tell, this just adds an annoying delay before you can accelerate again (I thought this was a bug until I turned the feature off). Otherwise, 4x4 Jam is simple and fun..Version: 0

✓ Ok.To be honest, this game felt like a lite version of a full game. I was surprised there was such a lack of variety. Only 2 maps, 2 cars, 3 customisation options, only 3 game modes and that was it! In free ride there are no lakes, rivers, mountains, hills or anything to make it the least bit exciting. ✓ Not THAT goodWhen im playing i dont get this racing feeling. There is no actual story mode kind of thing. When they mean total freedom they give u a somewhat big map and when u get to the end of it u just go back to the other end, u just dont realise its happening cause it looks like the landscape is just spawning in the distance( if u keep driving staright ull realise this after a while). also the landscape isnt that interesting and theres not much u can do, like theres no big jumps if ur using free roam and ur pretty much just driving up and down hills and slopes. Just crashing other cars also gets boring after a while. When ur playing the racing modes you dont get this racing feeling and its not that fun. The graphics are great though and the music is also nice. I do really feel like i wasted my money though..Version: 0

✓ TerribleThis app is terrible. Honestly, I can't believe they are selling this for $2. I got this as a free app of the day, and started hating it after a couple days. The screenshots make it look amazing, but unless you enjoy slowly climbing over hills and easy games, you will not enjoy this. All the vehicles are pretty much the same. Some go about 3 mph faster than others, but that's about all. Some events will take up to 10 minutes, as you drive through gate after gate, tediously. Pretty much every event (yes, all 32 of them) is the same as the last one. Plus, you are always 2x faster than your opponent, which makes the entire game extremely easy. On top of that, evey location is the same: flat, with maybe a couple of hills. There are no fun jumps, and since the max speed on the fastest vehicle is about 50 mph, it'll take a while just to climb a small hill. And to make things worse, the game is buggy. Sometimes the touch screen will randomly stop working, and I can't pause or use my brakes. And if I do win the event without my brakes, I can't press continue when I'm done to collect the reward and move on. All and all, this game is frustrating and repetitive. You're probably wondering why I took the time to write such a long review. It's because I'm trying to save you your money. I don't think I will ever make a purchase from this developer again.
