Baby Connect: Newborn Tracker for Negative User Reviews

Already paidWhen I downloaded this app for my daughter it was a one time purchase, now they want to move to a subscription so they are holding my daughter’s data hostage until I pay !.Version: 9.18

BEWARE! CHARGED TWICE FOR THIS APP!Please be aware, that you will be charged TWICE for this app if you choose to you use it on your iPad and IPhone. After contacting (unfriendly) app support, I was told that “the app is not a universal application, the iPad app is a different purchase than the iPhone application.” This makes absolutely no sense if you want to use both of your devices to log in info. Extremely dissatisfied. I would not recommend. There are plenty of other (free) apps that perform just as good, if not better..Version: 8.4

Loved this app… until it became a subscriptionWe used this app with my oldest when she was a baby (2.5 now), and loved it. Especially because our daycare provider could sync with us and we had the info no matter who entered it. When we opened it again to add our newborn son, I was annoyed that the app switched to a subscription plan- especially because we had already paid for the full version. We will be looking for another app that is not a monthly subscription and just a one time fee. VERY disappointed!.Version: 9.31

Don't botherI was told about this app thinking I should get it as a friend really like it and as a new mum you think if they have it maybe I should!! There's no free one to try so I spent the money and went for it! If I'm honest it's just another thing for a parent to play on their phone, it's a waste of time, you shouldn't be looking at a phone to know if your baby is doing ok or when their last feed was, you as a parent should know that!! I think if your formula feeding your baby then yes maybe it's good as you can track how much they have had but otherwise save your money and look at your child. I'm not going to bother with this again, it's time wasting..Version: 4.8.2

Too expensiveI love this app, and had used it for my first baby back in 2020 but it has now moved to a subscription model and is ridiculously expensive. Have now switched to one of the free apps as it’s just not worth the cost..Version: 9.72

App crashesLatest update stops the app from opening. Running the latest version of iOS, please fix!.Version: 9.0

I don’t like the subscription nowI didn’t mind paying for the app when I purchased it 3 years ago. But now I don’t like that I just had a new baby a few weeks after the update and now I have to pay a monthly subscription for something I had already paid for in the past as a one-time fee. Updating. I ended up paying for one year, but I just canceled. I will find a new free app to track when I give my kids medicine because $60 a year is way overpriced for what I will use it for now that my baby isn’t nursing..Version: 9.43

Loved the app, hate the new subscription modelLoved the app and used it for our first 4 kids since purchasing 7 years ago. I’ve sung its praises and encouraged all my new-parent friends to use it over the years. Added baby #5 and suddenly have to pay $50/year minimum to enter new info. I already paid the fee for the app. I’d have been willing to do another 1-time fee but yet another subscription to keep track of? No thanks. I’ll track on a note app before I do that. It’s a shame because I really loved this app. (Used primarily for sleep and nursing timers) Now in the middle of the night, my ‘free trial’ apparently expired - so I get to search out a new app as I try to remember what time baby started nursing….Version: 9.82

AverageNot worth high cost of app. Slow to open on start up, and some features are buggy. Wish I'd saved my money and gone with an alternate app..Version: 5.0.8

App closes constantly in iOS 14I just downloaded this app but it constantly closes down. Specially when I want to select times and date inputs. Hope this can be fixed soon..Version: 8.3.1

Bait and switch?I don’t mind paying but the app was free and it didn’t say any where that it would expire after some free period. At 3am when you want to log the baby’s feed and diaper you suddenly are cut off from the feature unless you pay $5/month. They spring this on you without a warning. The decent thing to do was make a counter and let us know that it’s about to expire in X days. Update: buried 50 lines into the app’s description is a mention of 7 day free trial. That is not “clearly” mentioned. It has to be FRONT AND CENTER to be obvious..Version: 9.7.1

Unfair Pricing ModelWATCH OUT — I bought and paid for this app a few years ago ($5) and used it regularly for my first child. I went to use it for my second child and now it’s saying I have to pay $5 PER MONTH as a new subscription service. This is totally not worth it, there are other baby apps out there that aren’t going to suddenly raise the price on you such an exorbitant amount. I believe if you have bought and owned the app, paying $5 for it at the time, it should stay that way. Save your money, this is definitely not worth $60 per year. Would give this zero stars if I could..Version: 9.11

Disappointed in subscription modelI paid $4.99 for this app for my first child in 2020 and recently gave birth to my second a week ago. I was disappointed to see I would now have to pay $4.99/month for a subscription for additional children. There appears to be a bug in the app that does not allow you to delete your original child’s account and use your new child as the primary (and thus free) account. I deleted my first child’s data but my second child’s account continued to require that I sign up for a subscription, so now the app is literally useless for me unless I pay $60/year..Version: 9.75

Love the app- dislike the subscriptionWhen I first got this app I had to pay a one time $5.99 download fee. Since my mom, husband & I all use the app we ended up purchasing it 3 times. Now it is telling me to continue using the app I need to pay $4.99 a month. This is super frustrating & much too expensive when I have already purchased said app. It is ridiculous that I have to pay to use the app I already purchased 2 years ago..Version: 9.57

Now monthly purchaseI bought this app when searching for an app to track my breastfeeding for my first child. I gladly paid the $4.99 and paid for it for my husband and nanny so we could all sync up. I have love the app and loved that it kept everything stored and kept adding the kids height and weight at their well visits each year. I have since used the app for 2 other kids. I recently had my 4th child and began using the app as before the moment she was born but after a few entries it told me I now had to pay $4.99+tax a month to continue to use the app. At the time I did it bec I was a very tired mom and didn’t have the time to look for another app but over $60/year for this app is really disappointing 😢.Version: 9.18

Charged and charged againCharged for the app on multiple platforms , and now they are demanding a subscription fee.Version: 9.28

Loved this app until they chargedThis app is a great tracker. I was using it to track my child’s eating and reactions after to help determine if he’s outgrown issues or not. Also great to track medicine given and temperatures. With 2 sick children I wanted to help log for each. The only option I have to add new entries is to pay $4.99 a month. There is no option to pay a reduced yearly rate. I cannot afford to pay $60 a year. I’ve used this app for years and I guess I’m done now..Version: 9.9

Great app but…I’ve been using this app for 5 years, and today all of a sudden as I’m tracking a feeding session it tells me I have to enroll in the paid subscription to continue using that feature. Customers who bought the app before it became a subscription app shouldn’t have to paid. I actually enrolled because I felt I had no choice as I have a newborn and it is something I’ve use with all my children and it’s helpful but it’s not fair to customers who purchased this app years ago to now have to enroll to be able to use something I previously paid for already..Version: 9.18

Nice… but could be much better for the price chargedIt’s a handy app. Helped me a lot with my baby but for the very expensive price that is charged, it misses some must-have features like widgets and complications for Apple Watch. Siri Shortcuts also don’t work well (“stop bottle”, “add poopy diaper” and “add wet diaper” don’t work without unlocking the phone what is nonsense if you are with both hands occupied holding your little baby). It’s disappointing… it’s very expensive, it could offer much more..Version: 9.72

Love This App, But There Are BugsI love this app, but (as with all apps) there are “quirks”. The app is so smooth and mostly seamlessly syncs across users—I wish it were a little cleaner looking just aesthetically and that some functions were more obvious, but overall good. I’ve had an issue a handful of times, though, where the app just loses my data from the day and I can no longer see a running list but just a super zoomed out graph. I just hope I don’t lose any milestone information because of it in the long run. I’m sometimes slow to copy it over into my notebook! I think the issue might just be space related. Definitely hope they sync to cloud or some similar service in the future!.Version: 9.4.2

Just okI wish it was easier to enter all data from the baby’s care. It takes too much time to enter each thing (feeding, diaper, medicine). It would be good to be able to enter it all at the same time. I have twins so it would take us too long to enter it all. We’re back to paper tables..Version: 9.66

Not a fanNot as easy to use as other similar apps, wish I could get my money back..Version: 5.4.3

Was 5 stars, now is just a money grabI used this app every day until my daughter was 10 months old. My daughter is now 19 months old and I just had my son a week ago. Now they are saying I need to pay a subscription to use this for my son, even though when I purchased this it was supposed to be a one time purchase for full access. Now they want $5 PER MONTH to continue using something I already paid for. Everything is becoming a subscription service and all it is is a huge money grab. I would even be willing to pay a second one time fee for a second kid, but this is just way too much for what you get. Stop being so GREEDY!.Version: 9.52

Not Happy With New Subscription ModelI was happy to buy this app 8 years ago. I’m disappointed that it won’t work for my new baby. It doesn’t look fancy and we never used all the fancy features and tracking after the first month. We used it mainly to track height, weight, vaccines, etc. We still track height and weight for our two boys and never got an alert that they switched payment models. We just had a third child and I can’t add her height and weight without signing up for a monthly subscription that is as much as I paid for the app originally. For how little I use it I can’t justify a monthly fee. I’d pay a flat fee to add another kid but there is no way I can justify $5 a month just to track medical stats and vaccines. Cloud storage is dirt cheap and I’d be happy for them to sync to my iCloud storage. Seems like a greedy move. I emailed myself 8 years of records and will be manually adding them into a new app. Disappointing..Version: 9.57

Changed to monthly subChanged from one off app purchase to monthly at £5 per month. Extortionate.Version: 9.5.3

Bought once and now forced to subscriptionFirst don’t get me wrong. This app is fantastic. Easy to use and information. We purchased in 2020 when we had our first son without any hesitation. Now we are happy to have our 2nd child. But we are so disappointed now is changed to free app plus subscription model. As result we have to PAY again to in order to use this app for 2nd child. We feel like charge app price and monthly if we keep use this. Very disappointed when we don’t waived fee or refund app price..Version: 9.66

Not worth a subscriptionI paid for the app. Then the app updated (while I was mid feeding using the timer) and said in order to keep using that function I had to subscribe and pay 4.99. Since I didn’t want to lose that feeding, I had no choice but to pay it. There was no warning or trial period, and I had already paid outright for the app. The app worked fine but there are many alternatives out there, and I am really disgusted that they literally made me pay up mid feeding. Since I really only used it for the nursing timer, I will be switching to Hatch baby which has the same functionality.Version: 9.9

You have to pay for the app.I don’t think $4.99 a month is feasible for the modern day struggling parent. $4.99 for the year would be more eye catching. I had to delete this app after thinking it was free and then having the app not work after a week of using it because that was potentially my “free trial”. So one day I couldn’t log any of his feeding, nothing. All the buttons would not work unless a “payment” was met. That’s not cool to do to someone. Loved the app, I used it strictly for feeding time logs, but I’m not paying anything to log my kids feeding times. That’s ridiculous..Version: 9.11

Should offer a free optionI started using this app 8 years ago and primarily used it to track breastfeeding and height/weight for 4 of my kids. Unfortunately, with my 5th child I’m being forced to pay a subscription fee just to remember if I nursed my newborn on the right or left. I understand for families with multiple caregivers, saving data and communicating between them is helpful and worth $5 a month, but I am the only person who uses this app and I find it frustrating that to continue using it I have to pay a fee for the most basic of services. There should be a free option for single users..Version: 9.11

Cannot Export PicturesBeware, if you use this app your pictures will be trapped in it (and even if you do get some out they're at a paltry 750x750 resolution). I have tried every kind of export: Photos, Dropbox, Files, etc. No matter what you try, it's broken. The developer has made multiple updates insisting that they've finally fixed all the bugs, but they have failed. At this point they are ignoring my support requests. I have a few thousand pictures of my daughter trapped in this app with no way to extract them because of the incredibly buggy, flaky, and broken export process. I'm sure the dev will post a reply saying the bugs are fixed, but I can assure you they are not. Use with caution, and only if you don't care about pictures of your child..Version: 6.3.7

Think I made the wrong choiceI chose this over Huckleberry because of the syncing option, but have been disappointed to learn you can do the same on that app (which is free) and they are now offering data analyzing for wake windows and napping (called sweet spots). Which this app doesn’t have. I am also disappointed for sleep, this app bundles night sleep and naps all together, so the “average” nap times are not really accurate. With these fixes, I would happily update my review to 5 stars, but right now feeling like I made the wrong decision..Version: 9.6

I paid for the app, now it’s a paid subscription??I bought this app 2 years ago for my daughter and I loved using it for her! I was hesitant bc I don’t like buying apps, but my sister said “it’s the best app I’ve ever paid money for.” I tracked my nursing, her naps, activities, milestones, and doctors appointments. I love that my husband could add a feeding on for me if my phone was charging or something. I added my son in recently when he was born, and for a while it worked exactly the same. Then literally it stopped working midday and started asking for $5/mo as a subscription. I already paid for this app, and I never expected to have to keep paying for it to use it. Very disappointed. Not worth the subscription price..Version: 9.17

Was a Great app, but watch app doesn’t workUpdate: subscription model is bad. This app was barely worth the $10+ we paid for it two years ago, no way it’s worth $60/year. Clunky, ugly UI. Broken watch app. I’ve read about their cloud storage costs, blah blah blah. Those who paid for the app should get what they paid for, including multiple children accounts. One of the main reasons I paid for this app was the corresponding app on the watch. I have not been able to get the watch app to work at all. The phone app is great though! I didn’t find the app the most intuitive to use, but I’ve gotten the hang of it now. I mostly use to log diapers and nursing. I love that it tracks which side you left off on when nursing. The graphs and timelines have also been really helpful to track patterns..Version: 9.4.2

DisappointedSays it connects with Siri but actually linked with Alexa. No iPhone widget and Siri doesn’t link so useless for me.Version: 8.1.1

Went from single charge to a forced subscriptionThe app is fine, but there are many more like it that are just as good if not better. I was under the impression you only paid $5 once and then you had access to your own data. They changed their mode and now you have to pay monthly. I asked for an exception as my nanny share (the other family and our nanny) are already using the app, but they didn’t allow it. Poor customer service. Again, many others like it, so don’t waste your money on a subscription..Version: 9.4

Child Care ProviderThis app is amazing! My only problem is I can't adjust the font size. I'd need 20 year old eyes to see that small print. I bought this app years ago and had been pleased with how it worked. Now, because the powers that be decided that they want to make more money I can no longer use the app (the app that I purchased) unless I purchase a subscription. I am not getting what I paid for so I want a refund of the purchased price. I’ve just been informed by the developer that the subscription is for new customers or new children profiles added by established customers. Well, that doesn’t change my complaint because when I purchased the app there was no additional fee for adding new children profiles. I’d like a refund of the purchased price or be able to use the app according to governing rules at the time of my purchase..Version: 9.74

Siri Shortcuts not workingThere are articles online about this app supporting Siri Shortcuts. They don’t seem to work anymore. The article was two years ago but it’s a shame that they remove this feature..Version: 8.9

I can no longer recommend this app.I used to recommend this app all the time but the developers have turned out to be beyond greedy. They increased the price from $5.99 for life to $5.99 per month for exactly the same functionality. Judging by their heartless responses to people on Twitter, they claim that they needed to charge people because they couldn’t afford the free cloud sync anymore. The app’s data itself is tiny though and yet they’re charging the same as a hard drive’s worth of cloud storage. They just want to milk their customers more. Probably trying to pump up their turnover artificially so they can sell the app and company or something..Version: 9.11
