✓ Maybe its just me but…..I originally bought this app for one simple purpose, I wanted to save my current position as a waypoint and navigate back to it. I didn’t need maps or anything fancy just a simple arrow showing me the way to go. I’m using this on my iPhone 4S which has a built in compass, GPS, WIFI etc etc yet getting that arrow to point in the direction I need to go seems almost impossible, the arrow seems to point in any direction bt the right one. I even thought well maybe its just me and watched a couple of youtube videos. The videos went on about lineing up the sun for greater accuracy……..err hello !!!, you have my lat long, you have a compass and you know my time of day, why isn’t the app telling me where the sun is ???. Anyway suffice to say I’d hate to have my life depend on this app, I dont know if I have to trek round for 15 mins before it gets its bearrings or what but seriously I have no idea how anyone can use this app for anything else other than a fancy compass, it certainly doesn’t seem to be a navigational pointer. But the app looks nice, I just wish it pointed in the right direction..Version: 3.7.1
✓ Is this a prank app?„North“ as shown in the app is about 40 degrees off to where it really is. Calibration does not change anything. This is completely worthless and potentially dangerous if you have to rely on it..Version: 3.10.9

✓ Dumb promptThe prompts that solicit your review are stupid. I bought this app ... and it is my choice whether or not I want to review it. While I was on a jeep trail and needed to get coordinates, I was interrupted by a request to review the app. Why? Prompts were NOT part of the feature list. At least give the option to NEVER ask again if I don't want to review. Since this isn't an option, here is my review. Other than this developer shoving stuff in your face, it's a great app and something I use frequently..Version: 3.7.9
✓ UselessSpeedometer would not appear on iPhone 6s Plus I could not see what the app was supposed to be doing all I had was a ruddy big revolving compass on the screen total waste of space deleted.Version: 3.7.11
✓ Barely functionalDoes not hold azimuth bounces around. When asked to name a coordinate will not pull up keyboard. When I came to app store to review it offered me the lite version which I mistook as an upgrade even though I have the full version, and I bought it. Tired of getting burned by crap apps. But hey at least the lite version will give me a keyboard..Version: 0
✓ Not Compatible with iPod touchThe ratings were good and the description says the app is compatible with the iPod touch, so I bought it. Unfortunately, it does not work on the iPod because the iPod does not have GPS, unlike the iPhone. The app relies on GPS to calibrate its compass. Consequently, you have to manually calibrate the app against a traditional compass every time you switch it on. That makes the app useless on the iPod. It only cost £2.49 but the fact that it does not work still annoys me!.Version: 3.3.6
✓ Can’t change background color after updateWish I had not updated. Background color is stuck on white and can’t change it. I see the instructions say a single finger vertical swipe changes it but that doesn’t work. I can change the other elements by horizontal or diagonal swipe but the background can’t be changed. This used to be a good solid app but this last update stinks..Version: 3.15
✓ Will not work on iphone 4First off i used this app alot. But with new update will not work on iphone 4 which is BS. Tried on three differant phones would not work on any of them kept having to restart phone after opening the app. Absolutly dissappionted with new update, if no update in month to fix problem will delete app for good. And I would hate to do that cause i love the app. Want to give this update 0 stars but i won't let me..Version: 3.7
✓ Commander Compass 3.3.6--get Spyglass instead!Pretty app, and seems to be stable on a 4S, but I'm giving it only 3 stars for the cheezy rip-off marketing: Better to get Spyglass by the same developer, unless you're stuck as a fighter pilot wanabee. Although CC's screen shots look like your looking through the camera, You're Not (it's pretend night vision green). Spyglass is exactly the same, except more features and more practical: it works like a theodolite, a sighting compass with elevation and GPS coordinates included, and you can take a picture of it. (Wanted features of Spyglass, bought Commander Compass by mistake, then bought Spyglass, which is essentially a major upgrade to CC, for the same price. CC should be the 99 cent lite version.) There's also Theodolite, similar but different, by another developer..Version: 3.3.6
✓ Please use a shorter nameI know it may seem petty, but abbreviated icon names are a pet peeve. Because the icon name "Commander Compass" is too long, on the home screen, it is automatically abbreviated as "Comma...pass," which looks sloppy. Please use a shorter icon name, at which time I can give the app a higher rating..Version: 3.3
✓ Nice, But Hard To UseBeautiful interface and seemingly lots of features. Unfortunately I have no clue how to use this tool. It is hardly intuitive. The associated manual explains nothing other than what the features are --not how to use them. uyer beware, this app ASSUMES you know how to use a military style compass already. ✓ Below averagePaid for full version to use for treasure hunt, but as a tracker to your waypoint it's rather temperamental. Not worth investing money....Version: 3.7.11
✓ Problems with my iPad caseDue to the magnetic closer on my leather case for the iPad, I have to calibrate every time the app is opened. Even then, I MUST take my iPad out of the case for anything to be close. This isn't really their fault as the iPad is just too sensitive to ANYTHING being close to it. I've opted to use this app ONLY on my iPhone..Version: 3.3.6

✓ 90 degrees outI need compass to teach this compass where north is. It is constantly 90 degrees out. At present pointing west to show where north is. I suppose if this were a constant I could navigate of sorts..Version: 3.9.15

✓ Don't be tricked into buying this app!!!!It's s shame it is not made more obvious in the App Store that The Commander Compass has hardly any features compared to Spyglass and is 'only maintained in the store to support existing users and to provide free updates.' - more likely to trap people into buying this and then needing to upgrade Spyglass to have the camera feature. Despite the good points I will not be recommending apps from this company to anyone because of this deceptiveness..Version: 3.7.11
✓ Used to love it - what happened to elevation display? Deleting it.All of a sudden, the app no longer shows elevation above sea level. That was an important feature for me, so now it’s not much better than others RFP pass apps I already have. Deleting it..Version: 3.17
