✓ OkayI would say that it is ok but it isn't the bet probably because it is a free app but it still does lots o different thin I have three reasons for why I do like it and three reasons why I'm not as keen on it: LIKE ------- •1 - I like it because sometimes gets the exact thing correct •2 - I also quite like it because you can search things and it will really easily pick it up •3 - the thing I really like about it is that it always comes up with the correct price and you most of the time don't have to fill on all of the information except from the barcode DON'T LIKE --------------- •1 - the main thing I don't like about it is the name of the app because shop savvy when I first heard it made me feel like I was a shop savvy •2 - also another thing that quite annoys me is that sometimes it doesn't read the barcode and they are really easy!! •3 - last but not least what really annoy me the most is that it always takes forever to register what barcode it is for but some of the really hard ones it recognises a lot faster!!! ✓ Gave it a try after reading mixed reviewsAfter reading some really great reviews and more recently some really poor reviews. All of the poor reviews made reference to a recent change of owners and/or updates, as the downfall of what early on seemed to be a really useful app. So I was cautiously optimistic when I decided to give it a try and downloaded the app... Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed to find the negative reviews were all pretty much spot on. When searching a product by name or scanning a barcode, there was long wait times 30sec-1min or more to get results. With the results being mostly online retailer’s. Even when testing a common product found at Walmart/Target the results were not reliable. There was also what seemed to be an excessive amount of adds compared to other free or non-premium versions of apps. And the adds wouldn’t even bother me so much if the app was functioning as described in the App Store. Unfortunately I have to give 1 star due to the app not having any real usable functionality. I had the same results when trying out this app on my iPhone 11, on my iPhone Xr(work phone), and also on my partner’s Samsung Galaxy s10..Version: 15.0.8

✓ BooTwo hours after download and I’m already lacking an ounce more of patience waiting for product results after I’ve used the app to search for a product. Almost completely defeats one of the sole reasons that the app exists. I’ve tried searching for 2 different products at 2 different times and have tried both with WiFi & with cellular data. In each situation the ShopSavvy screen stayed on the “searching” screen for so long that I eventually closed the app with fury (and still no results). ✓ It's all in $'s so useless for me in the UKIt's just for people in America!!! I'm in the UK so telling me prices in Dollars is utterly useless to me. There is nowhere to be able to change this 👎. It is set out nice and looks like it's a well made app, nice and clear, simple to use etc so for American users I'm sure it's great. Maybe one day you will make a UK Version. ✓ Works well, when it's not constantly crashingAt least 95% of the items I tap on to view price details cause the whole app to crash to my iPhone's home screen immediately after the "Searching for prices" screen opens. This happens both when searching for products and, on the rare chance I can get a product page to stay open long enough for me to add it to my watch list, when I tap on products from my watch list. ✓ From useful to bizarreBack around 2015, ShopSavvy worked pretty well: I often used it in stores to compare prices, and it almost always returned results of a useful range. Cut to 2022. Hadn’t used it in years and had a need to try it again. I scanned a UPC for wine labels and got back a list of results… every one of which weee for spark plugs! I scanned a UPC for something else and got results for businesses that no longer carried the item. Sooo…. I think we’re done here!.Version: 15.9.6

✓ Used to love, now not so muchI have had this app for a few years and every year it provides less and less. Used to love using it when I was out shopping to compare prices...now it won’t show me any local stores. The only results I see are online. I can be standing in Walmart, target or Lowe’s and scan an item and it will show me items online only. Frustrating and a waste of my time. Due to this...I don’t use the app anymore. ✓ Good but could be betterThis app is good but it doesn't mention any Sainsburys supermarkets even though they stock the item scanned. It then suggests that there are, for example, five local stores selling the scanned item (Sainsburys not being one of them) but when you hit the key to show you which stores they are, they only list one! Unfortunately, this is quite a large part of the program which almost makes it unusable. The online lists are good so it's not all doom and gloom. ✓ Wish I could use itI have an iPhone11 and can not use this app because it won’t let me add it to my camera permissions. It comes up on the app and I click “enable barcode scanning” but it just turns opaque for a second and doesn’t actually do anything. Same thing for location services. I tried doing it manually going into Settings > Privacy > Camera but the app still does not show in those settings. ✓ Not yet ready for OzI was hoping earlier user comments had prompted the addition of Aussie content but unfortunately it hasn't happened yet. I scanned maybe 30 different items and got only 1 price result. I realize it is not possible for developers to keep everyone happy but there are lots of customers in Oz! :-) I for one would happily pay for this app if it worked in my country. ✓ What happened?????This app used to give the lowest price on items and I don’t k ow what happened! But it doesn’t work that way anymore! I often find the same products lower on price than what the app finds. The way I see it you were purchased by a company that doesn’t believe in doing that anymore. They must’ve changed the algaeythum ( spelling bad) to make it only show a couple of prices and Walmart is always on the list near the top and they aren’t the lowest price on the items. What changed that the app is now geared to these big box retailers that are more costly than other vendors!! ✓ What a let down!Used this app loads before the update but now it's unusable in the UK. If it isn't crashing it doesn't get any results or brings them all back in dollars!!! What use is that to us British folk?!? If you do happen to update, the old version will be in your recycle bin. Just take it out of there, click on it and replace the new version with the old version in iTunes. Then delete it from your iPhone/touch (if new version is installed) and then resync with itunes to get the old version back. Worked for me and am back scanning happily!.Version: 0

✓ Mediocre Product Scanning Range, Other Features of More InterestThe catalog of items that this app scans through hasn't recognised the majority of things I've scanned and wants me to lodge a new item in the catalogue for it with a approval process that for a good while, is incomplete to this date for any additions I made. Price comparison is useless effectively as it doesn't distinguish between regions at all sadly and has no obvious option to. This likely adds to the inability to recognise many products unless its as mainstream as an iPad or a Samsung Galaxy S4 for pure (have not accessed or tried on these items) example here. It might be of some use only in the USA/Canada for more products; the comparisons it makes are only valid in those countries anyway as well as all the other items it offers in the various browsing sections split between interests, ongoing sales and similar. Here in Australia, I'm sad to report it's next to useless as a real app for price comparison. The UI is okay, it works smoothly but the real flaw is not doing what it advertises..Version: 7.7.0

✓ Good But Pro Feature Doesn’t WorkI purchased the monthly pro subscription to disable the annoying advertisements. Unfortunately the ads continue to display across the Search, Saved, and More tabs. I emailed support but haven’t heard anything in 3 days. I’d gladly pay the sub fee if it would work properly but I will probably have to seek a refund because the developer support has not been responsive. Overall, the app is good but does have some bugs. Sometimes when going to saved and researching items the search gets stuck on the initial phase and doesn’t return results. Closing out of the app and doing the steps again usually fixes the issue..Version: 15.4.3

✓ Nice features, needs workI like the fact that it shows local stores (even in the UK), which is a feature missing from the other apps I have tried. The ability to get store details is fantastic. However the scanner seems slower and less reliable than the other apps (had some difficulty scanning a shiny label on a curved surface - nasty test but the others worked fine). Also when I deleted the only item from history I could not quit the history screen - the cancel button was disabled. I would really like to see results from the big supermarkets in the UK.. ✓ MediocreThis app is supposed to scan a barcode and search for that same item in the local area, and online, in order to allow you to purchase it more cheaply. Whilst I cannot fault this app in respect of its ability to correctly identify which product is being scanned, and it very prompt at finding the desired item online, it has however not yet proven that it is able to hunt the local area for the scanned item, as declared in the description on the app store. In fact, the only results that came back were those of the shop in which I was already shopping, and even they prices given were inaccurate. This has led me to seriously question the accuracy and the overall reliability of this product. I would recommend this app to anyone who wants an app that will tell them the item that they are holding. But, if you are after something that is capable of finding cheaper products for you, then I can only suggest that you try a different app. As for the qr scanner, I can find no faults..Version: 5.0.0

I used to have this app. located on the front page (home screen) of all my apps. which was quite privileged. ✓ Search results include phishing websitesI have been using this apps for years and use to love it. Recently I scanned a kettle I saw in Costco and savvy showed me a website with better price. I order the kettle from that website. However, that website just disappeared the next day. No order confirmation or shipping information. My email started getting tons of spam and my credit card detected a couple of unauthorized transactions in the other states. Be careful don’t ever order from small/ weird websites. ✓ Oh dearI used to like this app until it hit things so horribly wrong, eg Heinz baked beans being mistaken for a luxury three thousand pound bed !! And then after scanning the screen going blank and then continually having to type in the name of the product and having to take a photo of it then at one tone mocking up the product name with a different picture entirely . No great idea but it needs a massive overhaul . It seems that they are never going to fix the wrong image problem. I keep trying to correct and press save but its hopeless as it reverts back to either the wrong image that you corrected or comes up with another wrong image..Version: 6.5.0
✓ Apps constantly crashesI wish I could give this app more stars as it has most of the features I want. However it suffers the fatal flaw of instability - constantly crashing when in use. That said, I like that the app can keep track of prices of products and compare against the same product in other locations. Things that could be improved: - want to be able to add a list of stores manually and not be the "current" location when you scan an item - when adding product, would like to be able to pick store from drop down list Overall, I would not use this version (4.2.1) of the app due to instability issues. However if that can be fixed, I would be more than happy to try the app again in the future..Version: 4.2.1

✓ US applicationI just downloaded this app and went around the house scanning items to see how much it recognised. It actually recognised most items. It immediately comes up with prices in US Dollars, then says scanning around the globe for prices near you. It’ll then display a price in UK Pounds …. but, in every case it’s a price from Asda. It’s not much good for price comparison, if it only gives you a price from one place. I can’t believe that Asda are the cheapest for everything..Version: 10.7
