✓ Fun, but ...It’s basically a good game. Ives learned how to play pinochle with it. However, one weak link is your partner. It bids out of control. Races to a high meld only to not have a hand sufficient to make the bid. Same with the opponents when bidding. They can be one point short of winning the game but bid wildly only to have insufficient meld and get set. Why pay for Gold when this flaw is so persistent..Version: 6.1.0
✓ AcesThe opposing team always seem to get a ton of meld usually enough to only have to pull a few tricks or none. Even when they get stuck with the bid and have no meld they still manage to win the hand. I’ve been counting how many aces they get between them and more often than not they get 6 or more. Plus my partner leaves me stuck when they clearly could have taken the bid. Sometime I replay the hand and choose the suit they have the most of and then we win the hand. Despite the above I have manage to win a few games. And occasionally manage to get good hands but not nearly the same as the other team..Version: 8.5.0
✓ Need improvementYou should make the robot and the opponents smarter. Sometimes they make plays that don’t make any sense. The robot should be able to adjust to his partner’s hand. It should be able to follow his partner’s lead. It plays the same way every hand. The opponents also do the same thing..Version: 7.5.2
✓ Dumb movesI enjoy this game most of the time but you sure have the players set to make some dumb moves. Anyone who knows how to play would not throw away a double pinochle or send your partner 2 jacks of different suits for no good reason..Version: 3.3.2
✓ Good but idiot computer playersUpdate review: good app to learn with. But not like playing in real life. You never know how partner will play out counters. I personally don’t like the “balance out of loser cards”. Partner should get rid of individual counters rather than balance out the counters. If you know you know what I mean, if you haven’t played this app you will understand after playing for awhile. Would be nice to just toss cards in when anyone had remaining tricks. That is all for now on second review. Sept 2022. I really like this app, but the computer players are idiots more than half the time. I will not explain you will find out. It is very good for practicing the game and hone skills. But just idiots on the computer side. Would like to possibly have the ability to coach North partner and put names to players. ✓ Scoring is ludicrousEnjoy the game but I am wondering how you can score over 1,000 points in a hand. I’m referring to Game Center where it keeps track of high scoring hands. The most I can get in double deck is around 300+ and that’s with either a double run, double or triple pinochle or double aces around. Tell me how to get over 1,000!.Version: 5.5.1
✓ Overall Good...but...Overall I like playing this app. I realize there are different playing styles, but one thing I have experienced is people pass Trump, power, then pinochle. There are instances where the robot will hold back Trump for jacks around, or the hope that double pinochle is possible. It would be good to have a setting that provides passing criteria options. I would rather see a 9 of Trump passed the instead of probable fail like J of clubs..Version: 7.0.7
✓ Can’t see cards...I like the game a lot except that when you are holding your phone so the long way is up and down, you can’t see the cards in the oppositions hands because the middle part that shows you the score etc. covers the opponents cards at the end of the game..Version: 7.6.1
✓ Great game flow, minimal advertisement.As far as any pinochle app goes, this one is great. Tons of settings to mess with, including game speed. All around. The app is great and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. By far my favorite thing about this app is the minimal ads. Other card games you get ads between each hand, sometimes two back to back which take forever. With this game, I’ll forget that it even has ads because they’re so rare. I’ll play 2-3 games before I see an ad, and it’s usually very short and you can close out of it right away..Version: 6.8.3

✓ Partner passing is pathetic!Just now I won the bid and my “partner” passed me a couple trumps and two 9’s. They could have passed me for kings around and I would have had enuf meld to make the bid. Word to the wise on this game — your computer partner will pass you trump and aces, but if they don’t have 4 cards to pass, they will pass stupid stuff to fill in what they do have. So the game programmers obviously don’t know enuf about the game to have your partner pass you smart cards. Also, really with the capitalizing “trump” every time I write it? Blech..Version: 5.7.2
✓ Great Game!!!Just had an upgrade today, and I don’t like it. The problem is the speed. Cards are playing sooo slow. Can an upgrade be done to speed up the playing? Or, can there be an option to choose the speed - slow, medium, or fast? PREVIOUS REVIEW: I like this game a lot. Have played pinochle for over 50 years, and this game is the closest to the rules I've always played. The biggest difference is that I'm used to the dealer taking the bid if everyone passes. ✓ Great App...if you’re not a total idiot.I have been using this app for nearly 2 years. It is a great way to learn the basics of the game. Initially I was irritated with some of the issues mentioned in 1-star reviews...that is until I realized that a lot of the game rules were configurable in the settings. It just took a little effort to looking through the settings, that means scrolling down. To the developers: Thank you for this app and updating it periodically. ✓ Need to improve partnerOverall, it’s the best pinochle game out there, until I find one with live players. I agree with the poor play of North partner. Although maybe it’s improved in the last year? Biggest pet peeve is that north might open up the bid, so that you pass a potential hand, then *immediately* pass! Second biggest pet peeve, another review mentions this, is that it will bid to high 30s on three legs of double pinochle, it will bid you off it, unopposed from E-W! Then, yes. I have noticed that north will pass a pair of Trump instead of aces or pinochle. It should be easy to program a few more hard, fast, rules that all players abide by..Version: 6.8.0
✓ Flawed strategyThis is a really good card game except for ONE MAJOR FLAW in strategy. When spades or diamonds are name Trump, you always pass both queens of spades or both jacks of diamonds. Several times I have missed getting a double pinochle because an ace of another suit was passed instead of a queen or jack. Please correct this strategy.Version: 5.5.1
✓ I am hooked on this app. I ❤️ playing PinochleThis game best mirrors the game how I grew up playing it. I like how they display the hands fanned out. However, what I dislike the most is when I take the bid and my partner passes me nines that are not even Trump!! I was so incredulous that I had to undo the play to see if it really was so. ✓ Good game, better IA could make it perfectThis game is a great game. There are rarely any glitches and not too much advertisements. I love that you can undo a play and replay a hand. This allows good practicing. There are also many options which are awesome! I am not sure the people making the AI have actually played the game. I tried writing in suggestions, but nothing changed. One is when that the winning bidder keeps a double pinochle even though trump is not spades or diamonds. Another is that the computer player takes a risky bid even though they almost have the winning score and the opposing teams is far from winning. Lastly, your computer partner will overbid you and then immediately pass..Version: 8.1.2
✓ Double pinochleGood game but having played this card game for 50 yrs I can tell you that you it programmed to get double pinochle too often. It shows up far more often than in reality. ✓ Not bad but double deck mode is too riggedI’ve played double deck pinochle with my family for years now. Enabling it here was way off - every 2nd or 3rd hand the robots got a double run. It was really obvious what my opponents trump cards would, but cause I would have 2 cards in one suit. Literally every game I had a 2-3 card suit and the robot had a double run. Was too boring. Also the robots concession algorithm was very conservative. I had a few hands where it asked me to concede and I made the bid. Also the robots were not always smart about optimizing for partner’s meld when exchanging the cards for the “kitty.” Some tweaks in the robot would make this a great version of the game..Version: 7.6.1
✓ Needs a realistic optionThe game is great, but would be even better if there was an option to get realistic dealing (true random card dealing) so that it mimics live card play. As is, it has too frequent dealing of rare hands (double Pinochle, double marriage, etc), which it deals far more frequently than would be experienced in a live game. ✓ Pretty good for a free gameI’ve learned the game far better by practicing on my phone. Makes playing with real people less stressful! My partner doesn’t always bid correctly but is way better than other games. I do notice that sometimes the same card sequence comes up multiple times and my or the opponents get a pretty long string of either really good or really bad cards. I’m glad I can break the cycle by just starting a new game. I wish it had a tutorial on how to determine points and how far you should go in bidding. But that’s hard to find anywhere! Thanks for a fun way to relax. Does the paid version have a larger bank of sequences with more randomization? I m beginning to recognize these! ✓ TRASHPartner is absolutely TERRIBLE at passing. Whoever designed this doesn’t understand pinochle at all. Also, W and E hardly ever go set. I’ve lost games in literally two hands before. They will shoot the moon and then get double pinochle in back to back hands. If I had to put on a number I would say less than 10% of the time they go set, while N and S do a lot more, and not from poor bidding on my part. I do not use the view all cards button, that seems like cheating to me and is way too simple. Very poor game for the true pinochle player. ✓ It’ll do....After reading other reviews I felt compelled to offer my 2centz...... I’ve had this app for a few years now, and have played pinochle for a while (once played everyday for 5 years straight....🤦🏼♂️) I usually spend at least an hour everyday using this app. I said that, to say this.....Considering you’re playing a card game that is 90% strategy, against and with a computer program that can’t reason, I’m satisfied. ✓ A big dealGame is entertaining and captivating. I find that the meld tends to benefit e/w more than n/s. Double Pinocle and double runs happen often for e/w. It also appears that when e/w takes the bid they usually have more marriages and aces round. E/w rarely has nines, queen and jack around. This gives e/w a meld advantage. Data reports n/s has won more games. I’ll take that as a compliment, since I’m south. Also in review of hand discovery at the end of each game I note that my partner, north, has often stopped bidding while holding a run in hand. Strategy in real play uses bidding to communicate hand capability. This reduces trust in my partners play. After all that, not having access to a regular 4 hand game this ap offers a refresher to keep up your skill set..Version: 7.5.2
✓ I wishI wish this program gave higher priority to pinochle. The opponents always get double pinochles and my partner often neglects to send me a leg, sending aces instead. Also my partner will frequently have a cold family and not bid. My partner bids less than any of the other hands. I don’t get it. The partner always ends up giving away towns I hardly ever do that. ✓ Great Fun and SimpleI use this as my time waster game. When I have a couple minutes free I’ll typically pull up this game and play a hand or two. I love the new score sheet HOWEVER when you shoot the moon the score sheet doesn’t reflect it correctly. I’m assuming this was simply an oversight and it will get fixed in the next version. ✓ Love it!I have both 4-handed and 3-handed (cutthroat) apps. I tried the free versions and loved them so much I upgraded to the gold (ad-free) and do not regret it. I would love to see you create a 2-handed app soon :) I see you have a 5-handed version and will have to try it. ✓ Opposing team cheatsI couldn’t figure out why it was almost impossible for N/S to win until I started looking at cards. As you will see in picture, East had two Q of spades and one J of diamonds, but bet heavy because they knew that West had the other J of diamonds. East didn’t have a spectacular hand so why else would they go so high. Stuff like this happens a lot when you expose the cards, hmmm... * SIDE NOTE, the care team won’t allow a picture to show you what I’m talking about so you’ll have to trust me on this one..Version: 7.8.1

✓ Partner optionsThe game is the best pinochle app I have found. My complaint is my partner. Worst partner in the world! I can’t do anything to modify my partners way of playing. I have to take every bid because my partner either drops the bid for nothing or overbids for no reason. Passes ridicules cards. Maybe set up some partner options? ✓ Bill SolomonFun game, well developed. However there are a number of tactical moves that the app makes when it should not for the most obvious reasons. For example my partner bids when it’s clear that even a successful bid will not overcome a winning hand by the opposition given the close score. I have written this and other comments in the past and suggested that the software be modified to be more intelligent and making those tactical decisions, but they have not changed. Too bad because otherwise this game would be close to high-level play.Version: 8.8.1
✓ PINOCHLEThis app is ok for those PINOCHLE louvers like myself who would like to play pinochle when you're away from friends, family, & a table. However, it's terrible because the way the game is setup is not how you play pinochle. Example: the bidding - you cannot bid 26 & then melt 25, you must bid at least 5 more than your melt. You cannot bid a point higher than the previous bidder. A player cannot renege. There are many more errors, too numerous to mention..Version: 7.0.2
