FileBrowser: Documents Manager for Positive User Reviews

Really improved in the last year!I have had the application for awhile - it was “okay”. Recently the developer has really stepped it up. If you have a server (multiple here) where you keep files the App has grown into a very useful tool. The user interface is pretty good and it’s capabilities have really grown to where this VERY useful in our home. It is how I manage files on my home servers. It has become very simple to share files from it to others as well. Well done little app - if you need to manage files. Not drag and drop easy on my older devices, new iPads are needed for that, but “it just works” like apps for Apple products are supposed to..Version: 20.2

Keeps getting betterI’ve been using FB for a number of years and it just keeps getting better with every release. Makes it so easy to connect to networked computers and drives. I love that it can show a “Folder” view even for DLNA devices where other apps only show a “Library” view. One improvement that i hope they can make is to address lost connections. For example, if I pause playback of an MP3 file on a network drive for more than a few minutes, the connection is lost. On reconnecting, the App doesn’t remember the file or file path being accessed. A refresh option to reestablish the connection would be great..Version: 20.10

Wow, great work guysThese guys listened to a request around being able to very photos in a grid like view. This app is now the best ive found for viewing photos on a nas storage device. Way better than some other apps ive seen. And they listen to peoples requests. Now, if they would just add facebook support id be over the moon. 5 stars.Version: 5.4

Better than my previous reviewMy previous review was titled Don't Get Under Any Circumstances as I couldn’t get it to work after some time. The FB Help team contacted me without being asked and we eventually solved the problem. Unusual for a developer to offer help and the app is worth getting although not the easiest to set up..Version: 20.16

Great photo viewerFileBrowser is ideal for viewing your photo collection on an iPad without consuming iPad memory. It can rapidly access them on your PC or NAS: I have over 14,000 photos at my fingertips..Version: 9.7

I love this App!I have been using this a lot and it has always impressed me. Constant developments keep it up-to-date. Support is second to none. I have had it on all my iPads/phones since I bought them. Invaluable BUT please don't drop support for IOS 9.3 !! Update: Feb 2024 and still works on 9.3.5. Thanks!.Version: 23.16

Essential appLong overdue review. This is the best - and fastest - file browser I’ve tried. It’s worked across every iOS/iPadOS update and device I’ve had, including two different nas. Easy to get set up with lots of advanced settings. File type friendly. Big thank you to the devs for keeping up their updates and improvements, especially with everything happening. If you buy yourself one present this Christmas, etc.Version: 20.31

Handy as!I use this for dumping images to the work PC all the time..Version: 11.8

The Swiss Army knife of file browsingVery powerful tool for accessing every device on your entire network..Version: 11.8

Great App!Works great to transfer files between different devices (iOS, NAS, PC and Linux). It is especially useful to store receipts and invoices received via e-mail (other documents too, of course). One thing that I noticed since the last update is that the slide show on Apple TV isn't as smooth as it used to be and the Apple TV's main screen shows between the pictures. I tried all transitions, but the "effect" is still there. I'm hoping that this will be fixed in the next update..Version: 9.7

EssentialAbsolutely one of the first apps I recommend to people. I've tried many, many file browsing apps and this is the most useful and feature packed of all. Can browse PC, Mac, NAS drives, even work servers and cloud storage. Just great..Version: 5.6

Brilliant 😎Easy set up for LAN from iOS, it's quick and shows and opens any and all the files on your network. I did have a problem setting up the remote access through ZeroTier but with some help from Nathan and a bit of twiddling I got that working as well. Great value. Trust me..Version: 20.7

Brilliant !I never give 5 stars for an app as the gap between what the software programmers say and what the app actually does is usually a mile wide, plus the price is usually out of realms of reality. I use this app on near daily use, I use it across computers and NAS, it DOES what it says in the description and does it well. Buy the app and you will not be disappointed !.Version: 12.10

One annoying bug/featureIf you are exporting a large file from a network drive to my iPad (e.g. a movie to watch locally) the export stops when the iPad security times you out. So after going back in. You have to restart the export. Fortunately it caches what it has already exported so you don’t have to start from the beginning. As the app was not terminated by the security timeout, I do not see why it has to stop the export at all.Version: 20.21

File browser fantasticGreat app, does all it says in the write up and fast also. If you need to work with files a on a network get this app..Version: 8.2

EhIt is good just better internet.Version: 20.33

File exchangeThis app allows me to exchange files across my iOS, OS, Windows 10 & XP platforms using my in-house WiFi network. One frequent thing I do is take a picture with my iPhone and within seconds get it onto to my Win 10 machine, then into PhotoShop for whatever. The results out of PhotoShop are then saved on the SSD and available to all WiFi devices. Another frequent use is exchange of business files between my Win 10 and XP machines. Those two platforms no longer communicate well. FB solves the problem. Before discovering FB I would use email with attachments for this. Hardware wise I have an SSD connected (ethernet) to an Apple Time Capsule. This SSD becomes the file central repository that all devices, via FileBrowser, connect to. FunctionalIy it's similar to DropBox but more user friendly, it's faster, no login required, it's in-house, and not as operating system invasive. Like once installed, just try removing DropBox from your computer(s). Good luck. I also have a 2nd SSD connected the same way, used for backup of the primary. Backup is automated and scheduled using ChronSync. I no longer have any reason to use DropBox..Version: 9.7

Astounded...I’ve been looking for exactly this program. At last I can be away from home with iPad and watch all movies I have stored on my home PC, listen to ALL my music and browse photos with thumbnails etc. So often I try these utilities only to find they do half the job. This program does much more than I required. To developers (unless I’ve just not found the facility yet) I’d love to see ability to backup from Camera Roll to remote location... A.Vickers London.Version: 16.6

Better than itunesBy far the simplest way to access network data and file shares.Version: 3.0.1

Absolutely the BEST File Browser on the App Store Hands Down! The best app for accessing network shares, clouds in one place! But please fix the ‘authentication required’ that keeps popping up when using integration with iOS Files app! It should only need authentication once when you first install! It every time you use it!.Version: 14.5

Most Awesome!I use this app over my wifi network and it was exactly what I was looking for. I can download files from my PC no troubles..Version: 2.6

FileBrowserExcellent App! I use it every day to transfer information between my iPad/iPhone and my PC. This includes photos, documents and mp3s.The App has a full featured media player which operates while using other applications or if the screen has a timeout..Version: 12.1

Hands Down the Best iOS File BrowserI have been using File Browser nearly since it’s beginnings and it is absolutely the most efficient and effective browser made for iOS devices. It handles local, cloud, and NAS file systems effortlessly. The user interface is straightforward and logical. I have yet to find anything that I need to do with a file that isn’t handled by this awesome app. AND to top it all off this app and it’s developers DO NOT COLLECT any data from my devices, the files on my system, or any of my activity. This is a major PLUS for an iOS app. Thank you, thank you, thank you for producing such a reliable and secure utility app..Version: 20.30

Excellent - well worth the moneyThis app makes it really easy to move files around with in an iOS device and between the device and cloud storage and a NAS drive. It just works from the outset - and helps me manage my NAS drive from mobile devices much more easily than I could with the NAS manufacturer’s own app. Highly recommended!.Version: 13.3

Almost perfectJust the app I was looking for! Would like to see more video file codecs such as AVI supported for streaming though..Version: 9.7

Love the new look! One of the best apps on iOS and keeps getting better, highly recommended! edit: thanks for the dev response, bug is fixed — found a possible bug: on the media controls, the seek/progress slider seems buggy, it’s hard to slide and also sometimes pauses the music. love the new ability to pull down to hide though..Version: 20.1

Fantastic!Love this application! Streams HD films from my Linux server properly, no problems with authentication or streaming quality. Kudos to the developer!.Version: 0

Fantastic file managerI have used FileBrowser on evey iOS device I've owned since the original iPad. It is one of the first apps I install on an iOS device. I also gifted to evey member of my family because it is so useful for accessing and moving files around..Version: 15.2

Best FileBrowser app there is - with added feedbackBeen a long time user of FB and have enjoyed it thoroughly. Would it be possible to add a multiple renaming feature with 2 digits? For example 01, 02, 03… 13,14 etc instead of 1, 2, 3.. 13, 14 etc..Version: 23.0

Top 5Can not "copy" a folder to "paste" elsewhere. You can not select multiple files or photos to import them all together. Super app qui permet d'accéder à l'airport d'apple sur un hd externe..Version: 15.9

Not bad...But really kinda fiddly. Only supports SMB networking i.e. not AFP which is the default on Apples. Seems a bit weird. Caching/read-ahead seems very conservative so access can be a bit sluggish (by iPad standards). Swiping 'works' but doesn't animate. The whole UI actually seems very out of place. It does actually work, however. Personally I think there are too many features and not enough polish..Version: 2.1.8

Bought for watching movies on my pc but needs minor improvementsOne of the best apps for not only watching videos on your pc but viewing other files like PDFs, etc.. I used infuse and still do as it overcomes one of the problems I find really irritating with FileBrowser. When you are watching a video in FileBrowser you have to pause the video to jump forward 15 secs, DEVELOPS IF YOUR READ THIS make it so you can jump forward 15secs without having to pause the video..Version: 16.1

FBLe meilleur à date!.Version: 9.7

Getting better all the timeMy go-to tool for browsing LAN content and general file transfer and, providing other apps aren't tied to iTunes file transfer, it usually gets the job done sitting as it does at the centre of the iPad ecosystem..Version: 9.7

Broad functionality and integrationAllows me to access either of my Windows desktops, my NAS drive, my website and my DropBox and OneDrive clouds. By registering as a File Provider in the Apple Files app, it also gains access to my Creative Cloud, my iCloud, and my local iPad files. Along with the Files app, I have optimal access to all my online resources, cloud based or otherwise! Absolutely the winner for the money. Now if you were to integrate Zip, RAR, 7z, gz, and TAR file support (extract or view primarily) the app would get a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!.Version: 13.3

Very handy!!I love using this for accessing movie files from a hard drive that is connected to my external wifi range extender via iPhone and projecting the movie using Apple TV all in the same app!! Two thumbs up!!!.Version: 11.8

Superb app. I couldn’t be without it.Natively, iOS’s has deficiencies in file handling and this app has always done a great job of overcoming them. Over the years I’ve been using it there have been regular updates and substantial functionality advancements delivered at no additional cost. It’s truly the best app I have ever bought and is worth its weight (or the weight of my iPad) in gold. Congratulations to the developers. Just brilliant!.Version: 20.15

OutstandingSimple and effective- brilliant in fact.Version: 5.7

Fantastic appI needed to access some files on my WD NAS drive, tried the WD app which was hopeless (couldn’t even figure how to connect – it insists you knowing the precise WD model before you can even get started!!) before discovering this. It found the NAS drive automatically, connected seamlessly, and now not only lets me access/manage the files from my iPad but does it about 10x faster than my MacbookPro! Astonishingly good.Version: 16.7

Makes the iPad properly useful!I've been looking for an app like this ever since I purchased my iPad 2. Wonderful as the iPad is, it lives in its own (Apple) world and doesn't play nicely with other. My main device is a PC linked to a Synology NAS and the missing link has been a simple way to read my documents on the iPad when I'm lounging around. I also prefer to read my magazine subscriptions on a tablet. File Browser is the perfect app for this. It works exactly as described. Unlike some alternatives, it smartly scans your network and does all the background stuff to enable you to login to your PC without having to find and enter IP addresses, or configure FTP settings. It has its own PDF reader that handles large files. I needed some advice re configuring this. The support from the developers was immediate, helpful and instructive..Version: 6.3

Top 10 App - Must HaveThis is the app - everyone needs. It's the most user friendly file browser app available. It makes managing your files whether local, in the cloud or on your Mac/notebook - incredibly easy. You can unzip files in one click. Stream music, videos and AudioBooks from any location (using FileBrowser or any preferred 3rd party apps). I use it all the time - to upload content from my Mac to iOS Apps (is so easy). The new IOS file App certainly compliments FileBrowser but it in no way replaces it. This is one of the best purchases I've ever made and the app I use most often daily. 10/10 - highly recommended..Version: 11.1

FasterThough I personally think that the FB app is getting a little too 'busy', it has to be said that the newer versions offer a considerable leap in transfer speeds, both copying and streaming. The ability to select multiple files within a folder is also a much appreciated feature. If you are a typical user of this app, you will be impressed by the upgraded functionality and if you haven't done so yet, I recommend you get up to date. For new users of the app, it basically does everything it says it will do and is well worth the purchase price - be aware though that if you are seeking nothing but a pure 'file browser', this one comes with media player functionality built in - a feature most will find very useful. If you do have a preferred media player already installed, FB also offers 'Open with...' type functionality, but will use it's own player by default. Overall a great file browser and recommended..Version: 2.9.1

Works Really WellRecommended.Version: 15.1

Amazing file manager and more...Fantastic app! I was initially considering jail breaking my iPad so I could watch all my movies without having to use iTunes, but this app (in conjunction with VLC for iOS) works a treat without having to do this. I can either stream movies stored on my home network Hard Drive or it will allow me to store movies directly on my iPad to watch later when I'm away from home. Definitely worth every penny, I can't recommend it highly enough..Version: 3.0.1

Do not d/l any other but this one! This is the best file manager to manage LOCAL files. I connect to my pc or Mac from my local personal home network. Was able to copy folder past onto iPad. From there had access to the folder. Was able to adjust size of thumb nails of photos in the folder via pinch jester. I tried several other programs that just don’t work. This program is a MUST for file management. This program saved me in Vietnam when I didn’t have access to laptop. I had to borrow someone else’s laptop copy files professional photographers photos from usb drive to laptop then access that laptop via this program get the folders copied to my iPad. Then wipe the photos from the borrowed laptop return laptop 20 min later. This program is a MUST have. Thank you SO much for writing it..Version: 15.5

The missing part of your iPadThis is the best app I have ever used. I am an app developer myself and this is just so well done. It’s the file browser the iPad Pro deserves. Local, network, copy paste, zipping files, drag and drop for iOS 11 as soon as it came out. Just incredible. I am hoping by writing this more people buy it as I hope this is just the beginning of pro tools on the iPad. I can now edit and manage audio files and pictures on the go. This wouldn’t be possible using the Apple files app. Ok I’ll stop now, you can tell I like it..Version: 13.0

Exactly what you would expect. It’s a great file manager with plenty of features. Connecting to cloud services like Dropbox or onedrive makes the other apps obsolete. Connecting and transferring files from NAS or PC. Can download files from internet. Perfect for PDF. All the files in one place. Secure access to your files through Touch ID. Support responds to questions and issue reports. This is what you expect from a paid product. I’m not even trying to find another browser. 1 Star less as there is still no thumbs preview for photos when photo library is being accessed. Update: support pointed out how to enable thumbnails. Works great. I just missed that setting. Star added..Version: 12.9

Portable Seamless AccessOnce you become accustomed to the interface, using FileBrowser is like running any other app on your device, whether that's a phone, tablet or a computer so don't let a brief learning curve get in the way of portable seamless access to your digital life in ways you might not imagine. It has so many uses, from watching video that's (hosted) on your computer with a hand held device that frees you up to move away from your computer (to a more comfortable setting and does so without cluttering your device's limited storage capacity) to sharing files on social media WITHOUT storing those files on your device. Being able to create Bookmarks to specific file sets on different devices and drives is a great time saver and helps you stay focused on personal goals. I can't wait to discover the next new way I put FileBrowser to use. My 'go-to' computer is a 27 inch iMac, just to put (lack of) portability into some frame of reference which is to say that if you like having portable hand held access to your stuff without carrying around your computer and all connected drives, then you owe it to yourself to check out FileBrowser..Version: 9.7

Need help please ?I have used this app for a number of years now and find it very useful to transfer files across from my Windows PC to my iPad. However, I’ve recently upgraded to Windows 10 and although I can access files on my NAS drive easily as before, I can’t seem to do the same on my Windows desktop folders, despite finding the correct IP address for it when I scan. It seems to get stuck at the ‘login’ and ‘password’ prompts, even though I’ve not changed the name of the PC and, because I am the only one who accesses the PC, no password is set on it. I can’t find any search results that help me, so if anyone has overcome a similar issue, feel free to advise. If this wasn’t an issue, I’d be rating the app as 5 stars !.Version: 15.5

Good stuffWorks well. Interface could be slightly more intuitive but functionality all there..Version: 9.7

Shocking capabilityI was skeptical of an app that seemed to do what I wanted to do with files on an iPad, and obviously the Apple version of files was completely inadequate. This application deserves to be al default application in terms of its ability to share files like a true computer. You can browse your computer as if your there, you can drag your iPad down and play a video file on your computer and stream it to your iPad anywhere in the same WiFi range without actually transferring it at all. I’m in complete awe of this app. If they could find a way to actually run programs that would just be the absolute nuts..Version: 12.10

Best file managerI use it to access my home network. Works flawlessly. Streams video from network storage really well. I also use it to transfer photos from Mac to iPad. Really happy with it..Version: 16.1

Just BrilliantIf you are looking full control of the files on all your devices, desktops, servers, cloud services, NAS and just about anything else you can think of, then this is the app for you. Not only does it do everything, it does it with one of the best designed interfaces I have ever seen. Things can always be improved I suppose but this latest release is getting close to perfection..Version: 20.0

Been looking for this for YEARS!I actually got two apps after searching for apps that will allow SMB connections. THIS is the one! Having access to all my drives from my iPad is great. AND if you have an Apple TV, there is a version for it also. Being a photographer it’s nice to see my images on my 4K tv. Reads all my Canon raw files! The ONLY thing that I’m not sure about for the iPad version is the menu tab for “iCloud”. It does not show my iClouds files. I have looked at all the documentation and really see nothing referring to iCloud. I see how to add stuff like Box, DropBox, One Drive, etc., but nothing for iCloud. Developer, am I missing something? NOT a biggie but I am curious..Version: 14.8

Photo AlbumsI’m liking this app. It’s just what I need. But... I would like to be able to designate folders to types of files and create photo albums..Version: 20.6

Airplay support degradedI've used this app for years, but recent updates have made it far less useful to me. My primary use for this app is to stream videos from a shared network drive to my Apple TV via Airplay. However, in recent updates the Airplay button in the app simply refers me to swipe up and use the Notification center Airplay button. Problem is, the Notification Center Airplay implementation only lets me "mirror", which means (1) the video comes through to my TV with a letterbox border, and (2)that I can't multitask on my iPad without disrupting the video on the TV. Please bring back useful Airplay functionality..Version: 11.3

Excellent all-around utilityI have been using this software for quite some time now and found it to be an excellent all-around utility. Not only does it do what it says on the tin beautifully but it is easy to use and full featured. I also love the fact that it is updated frequently with new features. I can’t recommend it highly enough; it is a great buy and a great value..Version: 20.44

The best.Don't look anywhere else, this app is made by a dedicated team and it shows. Strongly recomended..Version: 9.7

Indispensable for bulk transfer of filesI have been using Filebrowser for several years as an easy way to transfer files between PC and iPad. Almost all apps focus on single files, Filebrowser is the only one I know of which will let you copy things in bulk, preserving folder structures. This is particularly useful for libraries of pdf files, whether stored on PC or in the cloud (Google Drive)..Version: 16.6

Very good and powerfulI use this to connect my NAS.Version: 9.7

Constantly gets better and better!I have been using this app for at least 4 years. It gets better and better with each update. The ability to access all my user files on my MS windows PC’s/servers and have them available on my IPhone is a great integration tool. I also use it to access my mp3/flac collection on my music server remotely and play the collection on my iPhone . I have many app’s on my IPhone, but this is by far the best in all aspects. Thank you, Ron.Version: 20.9

The best file manager app for all devicesVery powerful all features I need. Can easily recognize hard disks on the network like Apple Time Machine and WD My Cloud, etc. The search Wizard is great and finds any network drive easily. Keeps your files private. Only you can see it. Switching between different folders using (tabs) makes it very easy to copy, paste, move, delete, etc..Version: 20.44

ExcellentBeen using this app for years, works flawlessly. So what does that mean for me? While I can sit on a beach pretty much anywhere and connect to my home based business. My customers are none the wiser, my wife is happy, and the work gets done, without the interference of a Canadian winter..Version: 20.27

Video not flipping sideways.?Just updated my app. And noticed when i turn my iphone x into landscape mode sideways when watching videos from my laptops local storage drive. The video stays in portrait mode.? Doesn’t not switch to full landscape for wide screen. And noticing padlocks 🔒 on the right side on my folders to. Not sure what it means though. Haven’t locked anything up witch i don’t know about. Hope there’s a fix soon regards jamie..Version: 16.7

Best App known to man! These guys have nailed it. My iPad is now like my PC. I have several cloud storage’s. Connect to multiple OneDrive accounts, WebDAV accounts & more. The only thing it’s missing is auto refresh. ‘Occasionally’ you need to click the refresh button, but only ‘ Occasionally’. I’m sure this will be dealt with in time but certainly no issue here. It’s without doubt the best 10 bucks I’ve ever spent. I use this App ‘Every-time’ I use my iPad. Sooo simple to navigate, user friendly interface, NEVER crashes, what more can I say. Just keep up the great work guys! So impressed with this App, I purchased all their other Apps that were relevant to me without a second thought or hesitation..Version: 15.5

This is the one and only you need,It just works. Connect to nas or windows share no problem. Works with windows authentication and does what you want. I tested many file apps but this one can almost everything..Version: 3.0.1

An essential app for iPad and iPhoneI am using a Raspberry Pi as a NAS server. However using the iOS Files app to access it has been problematic. Some files occasionally fail to transfer, throwing up an error. Photos fail to display their icons, and the list goes on. Installing FileBrowser has solved all of these problems and more. It neatly displays all of my locations on it’s home page enabling files to be quickly copied or moved around. It also has lots of other features. For me FileBrowser has become an essential tool on my iPad and iPhone running iOS 15. Highly recommended..Version: 20.27

Excellent and fastI use it with my Netgear ReadyNkAS MVX and this app is just what I need. Demanding MS Word 2010 DOC's are viewed exactly. I never found any other app that can do this. Also the picture viewer is amazing, At home I can show friends pictures directly from my NAS without copy onto the iPad..Version: 2.0.1

Excellence rediscovered!I returned to this app after straying into pastures which were less than green. This is so good, especially when accessing cloud photos. It is extremely quick, and presents file information clearly. Speed and presentation are so much better than Apple’s Files app..Version: 14.6

OutstandingSome minor quirks when supplying a path but really an excellent app with very fast searching. Lots of options for configuration. I can now more or less save directly to my Microsoft based office file system.Version: 15.5

I wish I found this soonerThis app has made my life soooo much easier to move photos to and from my iPad and iPhone. I’m constantly getting the, Your ICloud is full or almost full. Getting files off my iPad and iPhone and then onto my NAS prior to this app I had to put them on my laptop then move to my NAS. Now I just put them directly via wirelessly and done. Really made file management easier for me as well as network files while using my iPad..Version: 12.1

ExcellentHave used this app for just under 10 years. It has never failed me. I simply use it to access my documents held on the desktop when I want to work on them from a different part in the office. This app on any IOS device works perfect. You obviously need to have some knowledge about your Network environment and non-IOS device that you are connecting to. I use it to copy whole directories onto to my iPad before I travel. For document access from iPad or other IOS devices to any desktop it is perfect and reliable. One can simply read a desktop document on the iPad/iPhone, or if necessary transfer it to the mobile device. Any documents prepared on the mobile device can also readily transfer to the desktop. Have had this app for at least 9 years and use it on an almost daily basis. Cannot do without it!.Version: 16.7

Great interfaceBetween my iPad and my network NAS..Version: 8.1

Best file mgrFileBrowser can move files from just about anywhere to ... wherever or whatever app your iOS device can touch. It is also one of the better music file managers - especially if you want an iOS alternative to iTunes, or need to stream music from the cloud or off of a NAS. The most notable, and most irritating, exception to the usefulness if FileBrowser is the limited access it has to iCloud. I expect that this is an Apple issue - sandboxes and greed being what they are these days. Well, my work-around is to store files somewhere other than iCloud if I think I might need the mobility... sorry, Apple but, like Microsoft, you guys just don’t really have your users foremost in your plans. With time, users learn..Version: 11.8

FileBrowserI was wanting an app to access several of my portable HDD’s that I have connecting my iPhone or iPad through a Ravpower WiFi router and basically doing what a laptop can do. Initially it wouldn’t connect and I was a bit frustrated with the app because it got so many good reviews, I contacted the developers by email and they responded the next day, both times and it turned out to be a simple fix, but was nothing to do with themselves. I know look forward to enjoying the app, thank you..Version: 13.3

Very helpfulAt last: something that can access all my Windows devices fully from iOS. This update seems to connect more seamlessly and easily, too. Thanks..Version: 9.7

Well written app that performs what it saysGreat app with strong performance - allows me to access all the shares on my LAN and browse/access the files there. Works extremely well..Version: 9.7

Just The Best There Is!Have used this since v5 - it keeps getting better! This app connects to anything, from standard NAS drives to my homemade server. It is the only app I have seen that can find USB sticks plugged into routers share ports. Handles downloads with ease and I have never known it to crash or lock up. Customer support is Excellent also - Most app developers could learn a thing or two from these guys! Supports such a wide range of file types - you shouldn't be left out. Don't Sleep....Version: 12.10

Superb appThis is a really superb app and makes it easy to access a wide range of folders and files on a Mac or PC. It is one of those items that is so useful that it impairs Apple's reputation that they didn't provide it in the first place. I cannot recall spending less than £3 on such a good app. The support is absolutely first class and helped me to get over a problem that I believe was the result of Lion's flaky implementation of file sharing. Updated review: 21 September 2021. This app remains a superb addition to iPad and iPhone. If only the same app could be put on a Mac or Windows computer, especially now that Google have fouled things up with their new desktop app. Always very prompt and helpful support..Version: 20.30

This is one of those rare apps.Fairly new to the iOS ecosystem and this by far is the best solution for file browsing. Everything just works and is fast (iOS native sub is slow and laggy) Would be even better if they opened up the choices for custom video players.Version: 20.17

Solved the file management issue with iOS long before AppleI’ve been using File Browser now for over five years now and it solve all the local file sharing issues between my home computer and my iOS devices. Even after Apple add some file management capabilities to iOS, I find this app is so feature rich that I will still use it over iOS’s limited file management options. File Browser lets me easily save or access files on my local network connected computer from my iPad and iPhone directly, and has for many years now. Stratopherix is routinely adding new features to the app and keeps it updated. I’ve had no issues with this app whatsoever..Version: 16.0

Really great AppThis App is the business, I use it to access music, photos and videos on my NAS. It just seems to get better and better. Hopefully more video formats will be supported in the future. Digga.Version: 23.2

So far this app is not working.Been working for the past four hours and can't get this app to work. Will not read any files on ipad. Connects to mac but thats it. Difficult to configure. Good support. Fixed my issue. Thanks..Version: 14.3

File sharing rocksI love having all of my file share locations located in one easy spot on my iPad. Since iOS 14 I have not been able to access some of my SMB shares through the standard files app, but through file browser I can still access them. I also love the fact that I can play my audio files across the network without having to log them into iTunes. This app is awesome!.Version: 20.15

I like this app very muchRelatively straightforward, and does what I need it to do. Let's me connect to my NAS, Google drive, and create my own local storage on the phone so I can move my personal pics over from the camera role (this is supposed to be my work phone). I like it!.Version: 5.4.1

Five starsI really appreciate that file browser doesn’t send any of my data “home”.Version: 20.9

Years of valueI’ve been using FileBrowser for many years across at least 3 iPhones by this point and I would say it’s been my killer app. Whether it’s shifting photos quickly to my NAS or PC via wifi, reading Ebooks on my phone at lunch or listening to an audio book on the bus home, FileBrowser’s been there for me. First thing I install on a new phone..Version: 15.2

Connects All Files TogetherThis app changes the way your iPhone functions. It's like having a MacBook to use next to your iPhone. You can access all the files you have on your PC and even do transfer between your Cloud accounts, just on your phone. It can play various media files, too. I haven't been able to test it on the office files yet. One question: It doesn't appear to be able to play WEBM files, which is understandable. Is there a plan to add this feature, in the future? :).Version: 14.3

Big improvement on FilesA big improvement on the native files app being able to access all my storage in one place including my NAS and easily being able to copy between all locations makes this is a great app for my iPad..Version: 20.47

Useful but occasionally frustratingFileBrowser is a useful app that I frequently find myself using, even with improvements in iCloud over recent years. My main frustration is with this app as an audio player. Songs get removed from active playlists after playing which is really frustrating if I just want to play 10 audio files like an album and go back forth between them. I can’t find a single audio setting in the options that allows album playback correctly..Version: 20.30

ExcellentExcellent app.Version: 5.7

Add feature to your PhoneI have been using this App. for years ( to keep documents and other important handy on phone ), excellent support and Update from these programmer. This App. Has add features that were not on the IPhone ( like rename document and other conversion ). Thank.Keep up the good work.Version: 20.36

Great App, but...Great app, I use it a lot. More audio & video codecs please? I use it to stream meditation music for us & bedtime music for the kids, but when it calls out to another app to play something I cannot cue up a playlist..Version: 9.7

A Must For iPhoneThis is exactly what I needed to transfer documents from my Files app to my PC (Windows 8). At first it looks kind of complicated but there are several websites that have very detailed instructions on how to do everything.I followed step-by-step and when I finally figured out how to do it, I felt so relieved. This app is amazing and a must have for your phone. It handles pictures and the Files app extremely well. I didn’t have any trouble with multiple files or files within files or any kind of format; whatever was on my phone, I watched seamlessly transfer to my computer. I was a little thrown at first by the price, but the reviews letting me to get it. I am so glad I did, I don’t know how I managed before but I know it was much more complicated..Version: 20.40

Great appI use this app everyday. Great for NAS management from handheld device. Lots of great features. Thanks Stratospherix!.Version: 5.4.1

Works for DiskstationI have been using this to access files on a Diskstation file server from an ipad and it works well and consistently. Good user interface and would not be without it..Version: 11.0

Absolutely EssentialThis is one of the best apps available for the iPad. At last an app that make the file system accessible and usable. An essential app for photographers when shooting RAW+JPEG as you can see both files in the Camera Roll after downloading. I’ve never found another app that could do this. Just get it, you won’t regret it..Version: 15.5

Slow loading/opening filesLoading or opening files are taking longer time than usual.Version: 16.0

The one essential and best app in the iOS ecosystemI can’t even begin to describe my admiration for these developers. First of all, the app is immeasurably useful, and I use it many, many times every day. File management for a dozen computers in numerous networks and platforms, advanced functions such as multiple file and folder renames based on advanced search & replace, etc. countless features for the most advanced of power-users. In addition, they have implemented dozens of my feature requests over the years, including some quite obscure; I’m an avid QA analyst and the developers have sincerely considered and implemented features and tweaks for many issues I have discovered. They’re among the most responsive and accommodating devs I’ve ever seen. A recent update addresses a bug that affects iPhone 4! That’s how dedicated they are. I can’t imagine any other developer who does this; most would simply regard that device as too old to warrant any attention. I see this software growing more and more over the years and continuing to serve more needs and integrate more operability on the iOS platform..Version: 20.45

Very useful appI have been using this app for nearly two years now, mainly to access my network storage (NAS), where I keep all my stuff, shared between desktops, laptop and iPad. I don't know what I'd do without it! I tried a couple of other apps before I found this one, they didn't cut it, but this one is great. It has had a few quirks along the way, but nothing that would put me off it..Version: 9.7

New update won’t chromecastThis was a fantastic app to cast videos but since last update it can’t see chromecast devices, even though the ‘lite’ version can. Otherwise this would definitely be 5 stars..Version: 11.7

Please add ‘CAST TO SCREEN’FileBrowser is the best file manager for smart devices. I have a wish for the feature to cast video playback to a smart tv. I believe this would allow for a genuine 6 star rating!!!!.Version: 20.43

Game changing release!First class upgrade to FileBrowser. I’ve been using this app for several years now and it’s something I continue to use on a daily basis. As already something I can’t do without the multi tabbed/window just makes the useful indispensable. Well done guys!.Version: 20.0

Most useful app on my iPhone and iPadI use this app to move things to and from my NAS to my ithings. It plays videos, pictures and audio straight from my NAS. It opens PDF files etc straight from my NAS. It is probably the most used app on phone after email..Version: 9.7

Best iOS file browser/manager/explorer!This is hands down the best file management app for iOS. Well worth the money spent on the full version. Can connect to my NAS while at home, and my cloud services anywhere I’m online. Highly recommended!.Version: 9.7

Brilliant and fastEcellent app. Easily and speedily able to connect to any pc on the home network once it is configured. It great that a custom app isnt required on the pcs with custom sharing. This app uses windows sharing. I can now access the 60gb of photos for slideshows and copying photos for editing on my ipad and exporting to my online albums..Version: 2.1.4

Versatile but could be betterTwo things need to improve: 1. when some photos/video are added to Photos, FileBrowser isn’t aware of the file change, and there is no refresh button, so it seems one has to quit and restart the app; 2. When moving large files to an external drive, FileBrowser keeps eating up storage until the iPhone/iPad runs out of memory, and one has to manually purge the “Temp files” from time to time. Keeping of useless temporary files should be optional, or automatically off when storage is low..Version: 20.7

Tabs should be named per directory.Since shortcuts were removed in favour of a tabbed system I tried to work around it by creating tabs to directory locations on network computers but the tab titles are the name of the remote computer instead of the directory it contains. Please fix.Version: 20.0

ExcellentHave had mega issues with broadband - another story - dropping connection with a smart TV so watching films stored on a hardrive was becoming soooooo frustrating. Searched how I could watch said movies on a mini iPad and this programme was recommended. Easy Peasy install and set up and a week later, the binge fest continues unabated. Brilliant!.Version: 9.7

Great for what it does but it could be so much more!I think the app is very well designed and seems to be the go to file browser on the iPad. However, I think it still falls short of its true potential as the ONLY file related App one needs to have. Dropbox support and FTP come to mind. I know Dropbox has a great app, but I would love to be able to copy something directly from my dropbox folder on a network share and vice versa - like on a Mac. It works great and as advertised (even at work with Windows domains etc.) but it is so good that I am almost expecting more, like a finder replacement on iPad....Version: 2.1.4

Always deliversThis app is my cup of coffee. More than 7 years of heavy non-stop work and it never ket me down or crashed. Stable and reliable. Every new update brings more powerful tools every time. Just what I need. It is my exclusive connection to the NAS , time capsule,PCs and MACs on my network. It is recommended for those who have a heavy loaded traffic of data across a network. Let alone its capabilities to connect to cloud services like Onedrive..Version: 15.2

Solved big iPad IOS iCloud problemYour IOS devises can have large storage. My iPad Pro is 500gb. Much of this does not need to be backed up to iCloud even though I want these large files on my iPad. You would think that “on my iPad” would not backup to iCloud but it does. The only thing you can individually turn off from iCloud backups is an app. But if you turn off the Apple File app you lose the ability to have shared files between all your Apple devise's. Filebrowser lets you put these big files in this app. Not you can turn off this app in iCloud backup so all the key data that changes everyday on contacts, phone numbers, calendar etc will be backed up and synced with a much smaller iCloud storage than your 500gb SSD on your devise. Thank you for a great fix..Version: 20.35

Well worth a lookI wanted something that would play videos on the iPad across my network. My seagate black armor 400 uses SMB, so I was pretty confident this would work. Had it running in a couple of minutes. Disappointed that it doesn't play AVI or MKV files but I hope that could change, I do. have some MOVs so not a total loss. I suspect that getting avi and mkv going may not be a trivial upgrade but i live in hope. I can also see pdf and jpg files which is useful. I read about this product in a Wired magazine article, although their link to the app store seems broken. Happy with my purchase and hope this helps others to decide to buy it..Version: 2.0.1

Top App - used daily on iPad 2Everything and more as a file browser that allows me to browse local, network and cloud drives. Even has a music player built in. Great navigation too. The TAB short cut to the same folder/directory is a real winner..Version: 15.1

Excellent! This is an excellent little app for browsing local networks and accessing media shares on a small scale. Well worth the money..Version: 23.16

File namesI just spent some time to looking for an app to see the file names of photos. I had forgotten that this app gives clear access to all file names. Unfortunately, as yet, the files names can not be changed from within the app, (at least I’ve not found out how todo that yet) but just the ability to see the file names is Great. I can change the names on the computer, resync, and the new names can then be seen on the IPad or IPhone. This is just the very best app..Version: 15.4

Videos play no more - fixedUpdate aug 21, Fixed on iPad Pro 2020 by latest update. Back to 4 stars. Last two updates no videos will play! .mov file display stopped, scrub and other controls work but will not play videos. Need fix asap. Update, I kept pressing different controls like skip fwd and back, and video would play for a few seconds then stop. The release is messed up badly for videos. Latest iOS on iPad Pro..Version: 20.42

Simply EssentialThere's always a few apps on your phone which you simply cannot live without. For me this app is number one. It makes it so easy for me to access all my files at home and play my audio files through my iPhone without the need of using my phone memory It's quick it's easy to use and it works I wish all apps would do the same I have say this is the best app on my iPad or iPhone.Version: 11.4

File Browser after 3 years use.File Browser is a fantastic app to view and manage all my files on iPad and iPhone, It connects to my NAS server and allows me to transfer files between that and my devices, most file types are accessible and you can view photos in a slideshow. Or play your saved music files. Last week I had a problem with the connection to my server when opening Nixon Nef files, the support centre were very quick to reply to my query and resolved my problem over a few emails, I was very impressed with the speed and effort they put into the resolution. Thanks guys. A great company with a great product and great support team..Version: 16.6

Finally a real file manager..,I’m new to Apple products. I bought an iPad Air 3. I was having learning curve problems. I couldn’t get files moved to where I wanted, causing me a lot of grief. I tried many file managers, The one that came with the IPad was just about worthless for my needs. After a month and a half of fooling around with different apps, finally FB file manager answered all my file transferred needs. This app has just about every file transfer function anyone needs. I turned on the operational hints to help me navigate through the options. I was able to connect two NAS servers and get my videos easily transferred from an attached USB flash drive into an email as an attachment with very little trouble. I take my hay off to the FB app developers. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a solid file management app. Good Job!.Version: 20.7

Everything I needed.Excellent. Thoroughly recommended..Version: 5.7

Extremely usefulI use this app extensively. With a Mac, a PC, a NAS Server, a Seagate Wireless drive, an iPhone & iPad, this enables me to access any file on any available server, including Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive and (with Apple enforced limitations) iCloud. Even at its simplest, being able to access a movie off the NAS directly from my iPad and play it is worth obtaining the App. It works just as well accessing movies and other 'entertainment' data off my Seagate Wireless drive without having to use the so if 'App for that'. It's effectively a file browser for all your different locations, available on iOS. And - for me - does everything I would normally do in a PC or Mac environment, but from the comfort of my iPad, suitably reclined somewhere comfortable....Version: 7.6

An absolutely essential appConnects to everything and at lightening speed. If you absolutely have to browse everything in the room then this is the only choice. Stunningly fast equipment browser, I have a WD Cloud disc that can take minutes to respond normally, with this it's looking key an attached hard disc. Plays back file formats that apple ignore, and will directly email a browsed to photograph. Rock solid and reliable..Version: 9.7

All Good...After perusing the category that would allow me to connect to my NAS, chose this one. Had a more complicated than standard setup issue, contacted support, within 24 hours they had responded and had me up and running. Cool app and support to match. Kudos! Update: This still continues to be an indispensable app AND the updates continue to improve TRULY meaningful things... not just fluff stuff. Great job whoever it is leading and coding this project..Version: 11.8

OkI use this mostly to stream shows from my laptop to the tv via chrome cast. Doesn't play most (pretty much all) .avi files. But otherwise pretty decent..Version: 9.7

FIXED: Doesn’t work with MacOS Server Local Network UsersWith MacOS Server (High Sierra and Server App 5.4), FileBrowser is unable to access shared volumes made available via File Sharing for Local Network Users (users that cannot log into the server but have accounts setup via the Server app to access services on the server). This issue greatly reduces the usability of the app for our purposes. The interoperability issue may exist with other versions of MacOS and/or the Server app. Access to shares of Local Users (users that can log in the server, such as our IT administrator) appears to work fine. I am not sure if the issue is with FileBrowser app or with how Apple keeps adjusting/deprecating file serving features of MacOS. If anyone from Stratospherix can comment on whether this is a known issue, a known incompatibility, or if this is a bug that is being worked on, I would be most appreciative. EDIT: Thank you Stratospherix for providing support regarding Apple’s switch to SMB and requirement for domain/workgroup. After updating file share credentials, all works well. Back to five stars!.Version: 12.1

I hate schoolI hate school.Version: 20.6

Backup/RestoreI’d give 5 stars if it had backup and restore settings..Version: 14.8

File sharing made easyUpdate: I’ve been using FileBrowser now for a number of years mainly to transfer photos between my Windows PC and my iPads. Recently bought a new Windows 11 laptop and connected to it ok with one iPad but had issue with the other. Prompt response from Support helped resolve that so everything okay now. Continues to be an excellent app for my purposes. Original: I've used a number of clunky ways of getting files from my PC to my iPad involving Skydrive, Dropbox or email attachments. File Browser offers a much easier method of transferring files as well as connecting to memory sticks or external drives plugged into the USB port on my router. I had a minor problem setting up the connection to my PC and had to ask for help from Stratospherix. The reply was very quick and contained simple instructions on how to resolve the problem which was related to my PC set up rather than the app..Version: 23.9

Been using this for many years….…mainly to transfer films and photos between my phone and my NAS - excellent app. However - could you please put the transfer speed back? I used to be able to check if I was too far away from a network point when uploading to a NAS - this info is no longer displayed since the last update..Version: 20.26

Wow! What I needed. Plus VoiceOver! This app is almost perfect. Not only does it have a good interface, it fully supports accessibility features like VoiceOver. That is seriously rare, and very helpful. And very, very appreciated. It is one of my “must-have“ apps, and I recommend it to anybody who has to manage files across multiple platforms using an iOS device. Overall, it's great. Well worth the price. Now, it even supports SFTP! That was the one thing I was missing..Version: 12.12

HiFileBrowser is good for school but they should make it that you don’t need wifi for it.Version: 12.9

Love FileBrowser - I use it every dayLove FileBrowser - I use it every day.Version: 15.1

Only 1 real problem.Every time I start the app, I get a pop-up that informs me that I need to switch on my internet. It’s getting very boring now. I work in IT… I’m not stupid. I know when my internet is switched off!!! Most of the time, I don’t use the app with internet. That makes the pop-up doubly annoying. I’m not sure if the pop-up is iOS or FileBrowser, but if it’s iOS, then this phone has the AI of a rock. I don’t need constant reminders of basic things, and iOS doesn’t even have a setting to get rid of stupid “hints” that we don’t need. And AI !! … I thought AI learnt from phone use?! If it’s FileBrowser that’s doing it, can we please have a setting to stop the pop-up? Otherwise…. The app is very good. 5 Star. I use it daily and it rarely lets me down. I’m seriously considering buying the Pro version, even though this app has pretty much everything I need. But… Does the Pro app have the annoying pop-up too? Thanks for the app, it’s constant improvement, and no privacy issues. The same can’t be said about iOS 1 to 16..Version: 20.47

Fantastic app!I have been looking/waiting for a decent file management app on the iPad for so long, and this one is it. Really easy to set up and use, and really makes my laptop obsolete, as I constantly needed to use it to move, copy, rename or delete files on my NAS drive. If you're looking for an app that can do these things, it's totally worth the 2 bucks!.Version: 1.8

Fantastic works very well and reliably and easy to setupGreat app I use it for accessing my network storage setups and it works great very fast so simple to use and setup I think my grandma could do it. I love that I can sign in with touch id the only complaint I have is that when setting up network storage at least to windows is that when signing in if the storage server does not have a password there is no button that says does not have a password but I figured out if I hit connect without imputing anything it would work anyways otherwise a fantastic app definitely recommended..Version: 13.3

Best app ever to access your NAS from your iPhone and iPad.Love it. When at home, I have full access to all my stuff..Version: 23.13

GreatBeen using this app for almost a year. Been extremely helpful in letting me preview graphic files in real time that are created on my PC. I trust the iPads color accuracy over my PC monitor. Never had a connectivity issue and very stable. Good app and highly recommended if you need to access a share drive or NAS..Version: 2.7

Terrific App and Superior Tech SupportWe bought FileBrowser to allow remote access to our music library on the road. It works perfectly for that. The software also allows us to read .pdf and other files without the hassle of copying to the iPad. We ran into problems getting the software set-up for remote access but tech support worked with us through the entire process. Turns out the iPhone defaults to use WiFi instead of the cellular carrier. That allowed remote access at home but lost it on the road. Now that we know to turn off WiFi first, everything works fine. Tech support stuck with us even though it was not an app problem. Terrific customer service!.Version: 20.7

The best engineered, most important app I’ve gotNo other app comes close to the value FileBrowser gives me in bridging every corner of my digital universe. It allows me to move content across my Windows machines, my network, DropBox and my photos effortlessly and even delivered a solution to archive giant shared iCloud albums every other solution was choking on. If I could have only one app it would be this one..Version: 23.15

It just works! This app has obviously been around for a long time because everything I’ve done with it works as expected. Very useful - recommend!.Version: 12.10

Terrible since updateI wish I could revert to the old version, I can’t do anything with this one.Version: 20.0

Great AppI was looking for a product that would allow access to the files on my home network PCs and external network storage. This product has worked without issue fir a number of years. I access photos, spreadsheets, documents and more through my iPad and iPhone. It now interfaces with the file function in iOS 11. One of the best apps. Updates have kept the product functional through a number of iOS releases..Version: 11.0

At last, my NAS drive.I had just resurrected my elderly Seagate 110. Replaced the single bay hard drive and all (which Seagate says you can’t do). No problems finding it on my Win PC but failed many attempts on my iPad. File Browser found my NAS drive easily. Money well spent..Version: 20.47

Wish I purchased it before...Does what I want.Version: 12.10

Love this app. Exactly what I need. UPDATE on musicI’ve been using this app for years. Before Apple’s Files app existed. It is a bit better than that app in a few ways but I’m not doing a strict comparison now. I just like to have an alternative option that covers edge cases Files doesn’t. UPDATE Oh if you want an app specific for local music streaming app these developers have Music Streamer I’m trying that one out now. OLD; Request: Gapless audio (no pause between tracks) for audio playback..Version: 20.39

FilebrowserI have been using it for >5years and found it a reliable app, with some improvements released over time.Version: 12.1

Is there a way to give it 6 stars?Update Nov 2022 There were only two things that bugged me about FB. I couldn’t MOVE photos from my iPad photo library in one step and the thumbnails in the photo library were to small. Solution from their awesome support team: the MOVE command is available from the Camera Roll just not in All Photos, and, you can pinch the screen in grid mode and list mode to increase the size of the thumbnails. Great support, great app. * Last years review * Wish I’d found this years ago. After two weeks of using the Filebrowser it became very apparent that I’ve been missing out on one of the most useful utilities for iOS. With files scattered all over Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud, and on my ipad, this tool made short work of cleaning up a mess that has been bugging me for years. It’s the best $9.99 I’ve spent this week. I highly recommend MusicStreamer too!.Version: 20.46

Very goodI've tried listening to music and browsing photos. Both functions are nicely done, though it just crashed on me..Version: 5.3.1

Makes life easyI run a Mac mini server at home and another at work. This app allows me to view and change photos and files. Makes life easier..Version: 9.7

Useful appI bought a standard version, but it can’t be used for family sharing. Could you please tell me why ...? And how to fix it..Version: 20.13

Perfect if you want to access files on your network driveThis app is a must have. If the iPad were made by anybody else, it would be built into the OS :).Version: 1.9.2

WorksWorks well and good presentation of files, really simple to work with if your not inclined or knowledgable about accessing files over home networks. At least it doesn't crash all the time like iTunes home sharing on my iPad. Stable, simple and easy..Version: 2.7

Excellent Cross Platform Solution!Get this app! Best solution I’ve found to display pc files on my Apple TV (4th generation) as well as your iPhone and iPad. Plus Filebrowser provides a slideshow feature for your photos and also streams your videos. My pc’s are running Linux which I use for network shares which I can now access using Filebrowser on both my iPhone and iPad. Very easy to setup plus excellent instructions are provided to setup a free Zerotier One VPN connection so your files are also available when you’re away from home. And the best part... excellent support! I emailed a question one afternoon and had a response the next morning..Version: 11.3

Excellent softwareThis fills a hole in the iPhone. This app allows simple and easy access to windows shares allowing files etc to be managed in a simple and effective way. The directory listing is the fastest I have ever seen and beats desktop systems. I highly recommend this app for all users who want to access files on windows (samba) shares. This application is extensively supported and now supports a number of additional server types..Version: 14.8

ReviewerExcellent app. Good for bringing all clouds, NAS, etc., together..Version: 9.7

Good appThis has been a very useful app which I’ve used for years. There is a long term small issue that when copying files across a network the pop-up requestor shows half the speed and twice the completion time as the true value formerly shown beside the file name. Thanks.Version: 16.4

Fab, new requestBeen using app for year++, its speed and usefulness is amazing. New ask: I often copy very large files (2Gb+) from NAS to local storage (eg to copy movies onto iPad night before I fly), however when iPad sleeps network wi-fi connection drops. Is there away to keep it awake? Currently I have to touch screen every 5 mins for an hour. Thanks, keep updating this amazing app!.Version: 9.7

Awesome appHelps me get around Apple's clumsy photo syncing..Version: 9.7

Is there an easy way to jump back and forth from music player to file browser?I want to start listening to radio shows and document points where there are songs that I like which I am not able to do unless I am able to quickly leave and resume the player. Right now the only way is to play another song and then play the previous one but then I lose my place. They only way I can see progress is to turn my phone off and back on. Please add this ability.Version: 12.7

SMB finally!I’ve been trying to find a decent file browser for accessing my home server since moving to an iPhone! I’ve had 4 other apps, 2 of which were paid for also, and this is the only one that gives me fantastic access to my file shares Couldn’t recommend this app more!.Version: 20.32

If you want to share files between ios and pc, get this appFinally, a seamless and easy solution to share files between ios and Windows pc wirelessly without having to use Apple’s crappy iTunes or Files app. Definitely worth the money simply for the convenience. Apple and Microsoft should be ashamed for making it so difficult for their users. Thankfully 3rd party comes to the rescue with a properly designed solution. However, I only gave 4 stars because I’ve only used it for that single purpose. I will update to a 5 star or less depending on how it goes after a few months of use.Version: 23.1

An essential additionHaving bought Affinity Photo, I needed a way to get it to operate properly with my NAS. FileBrowser proved to be the answer. Although the ‘Save’ function on the main screen uses an API that’s only available to iCloud, I can use the space on my SMB shares through the ‘Save a Copy’ command in the image’s document menu. Filebrowser’s plug-in for the native Files app makes this possible, and I haven’t found any other file manager app that offers this functionality. This alone is worth the price of the program. As a bonus, it includes a browser for RAW files that’s far superior to that included in Files or Photos, and I can send a RAW straight to Affinity through the share sheet. If you have plenty of disk space on your local network and want to move large files on and off your iPad without sending them through the internet to iCloud, then this is an essential purchase..Version: 13.3

Great File Share And Media PlayerApple iOS has never handled files very gracefully for some reason. This app solves that problem. I use it to save and access files on my iPad, iPhone, home network storage device, and my PC’s. It allows me to easily save files, copy files, and read the files. It has a very effective media player which seems to play all the media files I have and displays spreadsheets, pdf, and various text files. This is one app that I use a lot. I am very glad that they have maintained the app through the various iOS versions..Version: 13.0

Good app but could use some small improvements.Sometimes videos fail to display thumbnails o (generate thumbnails with setting enabled) Renaming a video in the folder fixes the problem. Allow files transfers to be minimised to allow continued browsing. At the moment you have a popup that blocks the view and use of the app while a file transfer is in progress..Version: 20.39

Great! This is the best appeared for iOS. It makes the device truly useful. I can even access data directly from the AirPort drive..Version: 11.2

Really, really good!I’m not one to purchase apps. However, this app is amazing! Highly recommended. Works better than I anticipated..Version: 20.37

*.avi formatBeen using this app for ages and I really like it. Just one thing that doesn’t support, or it may not?, it opens the avi and starts playing, but shows nothing. I checked this on both this app and FileBrowserTV. Is this a glitch?.Version: 20.47

Highly functional with multiple cloud and NAS storagesAfter owning this app for many years ( probably 10 years) this app is still working very well. Thanks to the developer for keeping it going so well. It is the app that let me transfer files among multiple storages..Version: 12.10

Good appLots of functionality. Sometimes hard to figure user interface but eventually if figure out how to do what I need..Version: 20.46

File ManagementExcellent app to manage files - able to save and retrieve documents from network attached storage.Version: 20.10

Brilliant product and brilliant supportI have been using filebrowser for many years and it keeps getting better. I can access files on all my cloud drives and local network. I use it to watch videos I have saved on my local network drive and the speed of loading and starting is much faster than any other product I have tried. This morning I reported a problem to their tech team and received a response within an hour. Keep up the good work..Version: 9.7

The bestWouldn't be without this great app. I can move stuff round my network with ease and it connects to everything. Thank you😊 This app continues to excel, is updated regularly and provides great functionality. Still the best and most essential app on my iPhone..Version: 20.32

The App That Completes The iPad Pro!This is the app that really completes the iPad Pro helping to make it a full fledge computer. Apple tried to get there with their Files app, which falls utterly short. This app fills the gap allowing me to truly manage my files across a myriad of sources included my NAS. Connecting to such sources is a complete breeze - it just works and is Very smooth. I didn’t want to have to have a an intermediary like a PC or Mac to transfer files from my NAS to my iPad and to manage iPad local files - and iTunes is abysmal. With this app, no other device is necessary..Version: 12.12

No USB support in update V16 - false advertisement!Since IOS 13 it is possible to access external USB drives within the native FILES app. I therefore expected FILEBROWSER to update their app to do likewise and not withhold it for their BUSINESS version at considerable cost only. So I was quite pleased to see in their “What’s new” heading for version 16.0 that USB support has now been included in their standard version as well. Fact is - it is not true! I can see my IXPAND drive under IOS FILES app but it does not show in FILEBROWSER. Please fix it or remove false advertisement! Further to the developer’s response, “...just browse to any folder and choose IMPORT FILES from + menu. The file picker will pop up and you can select multiple files...” Thanks for the clarification. USB access is indeed possible, albeit in a convoluted way not immediately apparent. Since the latest IOS FILES app can browse files on USB sticks directly, I cannot see a justification anymore for FILEBROWSER to withhold this functionality and reserve it for the expensive BUSINESS version only. Customers are savvy enough to give the BUSINESS version a miss in future if they would need it only to access USB drives..Version: 16.0

SIMPLY THE BESTThis app by Stratospherix is by far the best of its kind. It outpaces every other file organiser I’ve used over the last n years, and the most recent improvements lift it into the astral realm! I opened FileBrowser today, which was the first time for many months, as I’ve been undergoing quite a bit of surgery. Just seeing the layout, with everything so efficiently organised, in a way that’s a pleasure to look at, almost made me weep with relief. It’s always been the app with the easiest interface for seeing what’s where, but the upgraded version is better again! I hardly ever write reviews, but I had to write this because I’m so delighted with the app. It’s made keeping my life in order so much simpler. Thank you, developers at stratospherix - you’ve made an old woman very happy!.Version: 20.3

SMOOTH.. SMART.. SUPERB..Finally the power of a desktop browser, now in the palm of your hands. This app is truly one of the best designed, feature packed and supported app of it’s kind—PERIOD! Going into details about what this particular application can do is not necessary, you will definitely have time to find out for yourself. Just hurry up and download it and see for yourself, why it is I absolutely believe this will be the best app I download this year. CHECK IT OUT...Version: 12.10

Brilliant app with one flawThis is a brilliant application with one flaw. On an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus FileBrowser allows I’ve noticed that when playing a video through FileBrowser from a file server or PC on an iPhone XR or XS in landscape mode when I multitask out of the video or file to access imessage or mail or Facebook (or whatever) then return to the video it doesn’t allow me to switch between portrait and landscape within FileBrowser anymore until I close out of FileBrowser and reopen it. On an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus FileBrowser allows you to run a video then switch between apps then return to the video then go back between portrait and landscape. So to sum up iPhone XR/XS/XS Max FileBrowser can’t go to landscape then switch between apps then return to FileBrowser and you then can’t go between landscape/portrait mode. iPhone 7/7 Plus/8/8 Plus you can go between FileBrowser and other apps and back to FileBrowser and FileBrowser will continue to allow you to go between portrait and landscape modes. So the flaw is that FileBrowser doesn’t work properly on the new iPhones without the old home button and Touch ID. I hope that is clearly understood and that the FileBrowser support team can address this as soon as possible. Otherwise FileBrowser is a perfect app. Kind regards Lee.Version: 15.5

Helped Windows PC-iPad TransitionEnables me to access files on my Windows PC from iPad Pro 2018 (all connected PC drives) and transfer to iPad using Wi-Fi, works smoothly and successfully..Version: 14.8

Finally a business solutionThis app is what I have been hunting for ages. I have been able to connect up to my corporation LAN on a secure VPN for ages and with this app I can now finally browse the servers / file shares open, copy & edit all my files. No special configurations or need to load something server end, perfect. Ability to copy my files locally, edit then upload back. Great sort and search options. Guys you have done an excellent job, this is designed by people who know what the end user like myself is after. You have finally made my iPad a real workable tool. Great work !!!.Version: 2.1.8

Great featuresFile browser is a great app it has an add tab feature which enables you to go straight to a subject so it's great for business I would recommend this for a job that includes organisation. If you have this app get notability both of them connect..Version: 11.8

Great app, a must for iPad and iPhoneGreat app, for accessing my computer files, does hang sometime.. It's a must have app.. needs access to Sonos devices.!!.Version: 11.8

The best Filemanager & Media playerBeen using this app for years, recently started using it to play media files. This program rocks, covers everything i want inlcuding access to my computers via smb, ftp access to my routers drive and so much more. No other app comes close for the functionality and reliability... keep up the great job, I love that you are always looking to improve your app by adding new features..Version: 23.7

Love itSimple, effective, does exactly what it says. Only thing I want is more video codecs so it stops throwing things into vPlayer. And having said that - it DOES cover many codecs now!.Version: 23.5

Great app but please add ISO to picture viewerI am using this app for viewing my photos stored at NAS and for some reason there is no ISO parameter in the EXIF settings. Please add it to picture information screen as it is one of the most important parameters..Version: 12.12

Awesome appThe best app i ever used however there is problem with playing mkv files it has to load all the file first which will take around 23 mins and it dosnt play it after that.Version: 2.8.5

Great app gets better with every updateThis is my goto app for accessing files that are located elsewhere or in my cloud. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to have easy access to their home network. It keeps getting better with every update. Still some things to fix but they are constantly improving the product. One thing I'd really like to see is support for Chromecast when viewing photos or video. Then I could eliminate most of my other media viewers as well as all my other file handling apps. THEY DID IT!! THEY ADDED CHROMECAST SUPPORT! Now I can stream video directly from anywhere on my network directly to my TV. I LOVE THIS APP,.Version: 9.7

Excellent, professional file managementBeen using this for years. Sorry that I didn't give you a good review before now. Essential app for iOS users..Version: 20.37

Unbeatable supportEven if I'm not a commercial client, I had a super support from Nathan. Using a VPN based on PPTP protocol until Apple dicontinued supporting it on my iPhone/iPad, I was extremely satisfied with the easy reach to my home pc file arborescence and I was using it extensively through my LAN (close to my router) and here and there over cellular network (over the internet for distant connection). After Apple discontinued supporting PPTP protocol, Nathan came up with a new way to get a secure connection with my pc: ZeroTier VPN. It works magnificently and very securely on my iPhone/iPad. I recommend FileBrowser to everyone that needs to get access to their pc, either for file viewing/downloading, music listening, vewing video, etc. And it is free for personal use!.Version: 9.7

Great file manager!I have been using this app for years. Recently I belatedly found that I could also access the files on my PC. So right in front of me I have access to my network server, my PC, and my Dropbox files. It is interesting that photos on the iPad show up as actual files within FileBrowser that can be treated as any other file instead of having to go to the more limiting iOS Photos app. FB also has a built in server which allows other devices to exchange files with you independent of platform, such as a PC. Outstanding attention to functionality! Here is where I have been very surprised. Apple introduced their Files app recently, iOS 11. It is their first attempt at a file manager. It is limited. What is interesting is that when users want to open a file from within an app like Pages, their new file manager opens where the file can be selected. FileBrowser shows up as a selection. If you make that selection, when FileBrowser is running, you have access to all the locations for files that you have when you are in that this FB app. The locations are displayed as directories. This includes files on the PC, online storage like Dropbox, and your network servers. This is quite an enhancement for the Apples Files app. So I can open a file on my PC from within Pages or other iOS apps. This is very nice indeed!.Version: 11.8

Most Useful AppBought it to access network files for both work & home, ended up being most used app on all my devices. I love the audio player the most..Version: 14.8

Does what it says on the tinThis app is a must have, if you access network shares and want to do so with your iOS device, get this app! I use this app daily and I highly recommend it! Glad to also see development is current, fantastic job 😎.Version: 20.24

Works brilliantly! This enables me to access, move, and copy files on my NAS using the iPad. I can also copy files to/from other apps and/or network locations. So now I have access to thousands of files over my home network, without having to turn on a computer. I can even use the iPad as a photo frame, pulling pictures from other devices on my network. Sure, it doesn't stream or read all video files, but that's not its main purpose - I'd recommend Buzzplayer for that..Version: 2.1

Life SaverThanks for your wonderful and life saver App which is nothing what one may pay for it. I have 1 Macbook Pro and 3x1 TB WD External hard discs and with this App I have made a private network with all 4 devices plus Google Drive, and MS One Drive and all of them are working like a charm. I have one suggestion and request! Is there any possibility to add left or right swiping features to delete unwanted files or moving them? Would be highly appreciated 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹👍.Version: 15.4

Brilliant! Best app! Woohoo!!I think you guys have actually understood the Apple way....make it so it just works without all the fuss... I can access my BlackArmourNAS now and view my photos on my iPad....FINALLY I've found an app that works. IT JUST WORKS! THANK YOU! I can access the server at work over wifi and upload, download, create folders, delete files......AWESOME......pretty much like sitting at a desktop PC. Very good in-app help, it actually explains what to do (in layman's terms) and a great website. Worth every penny. Support emails responded to promptly. Best PDF viewer. Best file system..Version: 20.39
