✓ Lazy porting issues still not fixedMissing animations, animations in the wrong places, occasional dialogue coming from the wrong character and other text problems. All of these I expected to be fixed with an update at some point, but after all this time these messy bugs still have not been fix or even acknowledged, even after several updates have been released for things like OS7 support. I not only regret paying money for a port that feels like it's still in beta, I urge others to not pay for it either. Get the DS versions, you might pay more, but at least the DS versions were play tested..Version: 1.00.03
✓ Great game ruined...Not being able to fast forward the slow text boxes ruins any enjoyment to be had with this game. You have to wait agonisingly slowly for each text box to finish 'typing' with no way to finish it by tapping the screen. It completely spoils the flow of the game. Please fix this - it's standard to skip/FF in all other games with speech bubbles. Would be 5 stars if it's fixed..Version: 1.00.03
✓ Fun but can be frustratingNot a bad game, but hampered by the incredibly slow pace. Text appears a character at a time as if being typed, and can't be skipped until the whole dialogue has appeared, making longer scenes very frustrating. The game also offers some choices that are either blindingly obvious or only give the illusion of choice without making a real difference to the outcome. Similarly, if you raise an objection but the game's script doesn't cover what you've thought of, the judge will just dismiss it and penalise you. It's still a fun game if you have the patience to sit through slow reams of text appearing, and don't mind the linear scripting..Version: 1.00.02
✓ So Close to Being GreatI love these Ace Attorney games, the story and gameplay are so entertaining and fun, but there’s just a couple things that really annoy me. First, if you accidentally click on a dialogue option you’ve already read, then you have to sit there tapping through all of it again, sometimes for an entire minute. There really should be an option to skip through dialogue that you’ve already seen. Second, if you want to hear the soundtrack and sound effects, you need to take your phone off silent mode. There are other games on iOS that do not require you to take your phone off silent mode in order to hear sounds, so I don’t understand why I’m forced to allow texts/calls to trigger my ringtones just so I can listen to this game. If these two simple things were fixed, this would definitely get 5 stars, but honestly they’re significant enough to each drop my review by a whole star..Version: 1.02.00
✓ Good Game... But go play it on PlayStation or Xbox instead...The game itself is an absolute gem that everyone should enjoy to their hearts content... but... This port is very tacky... and you have to pay to progress further... However, on the console version the cases get unlocked when you complete the case before the next... ✓ Fun, but...No iCloud support. I was going to buy the other episodes after playing the available one, however I updated my iPhone and found that no saves were backed up. ✓ Terrible updateI was happily playing this game the other day, then this update installed. I don't know why, but they added ugly borders to the game for no reason. So the update made the game worse. ✓ An adequate portArt asset resolution could be higher (it's not retina quality) and the frame-rate is low, you'd think it wouldn't matter much for a game like this and it doesn't, but things like text not typing out one character at a time and screen shakes looking really janky starts to get annoying after awhile. ✓ What happened?Okay, so I played these games on the GBA (imports), the DS (North American Releases) AND the Wii (straight ports). And then I saw this and thought: "Updated graphics? Retina display support? I'm sold!" So, I bought the full bundle and started playing. Then I noticed something. The graphics AREN'T updated. They no longer look like sprites, and than means their movements, compared to the other options to play this game, are incredibly lame (and choppy). Sure, the larger screen, retina clarity and smoother lines are nice, but come on Capcom! Update everything or update nothing, cause people are going to notice! Overall, if you have any of the three options I named above, get those. If this is your introduction to the series, it's not great, just don't play the earlier versions or ports and expect the graphics on this one to be better. Overall, Capcom doesn't;t deserve any more of my money until they decided to "un-cancel" Megaman Legends 3....Version: 1.00.06

✓ The games are AMAZING, but play a different version of the trilogy.I really want to begin this saying that this isn’t a rating on the games themselves, but how awful this port is. The games, solid 10/10, 5 stars, however you’d like to phrase it. This port, however, is not good. I’ve been primarily using my iPad for this, and am currently on the fifth case of the first game (1-5). There have been the occasional odd typo here or there but case five has been absolutely riddled with bugs and typos and the wrong text for the wrong evidence. It’s made case 5 loads harder than it needs to be, especially considering how tricky it already is. However, as far as the games themselves go, I am HOOKED. If you haven’t ever played one before, and want to try before you buy, the first two cases (a tutorial and the first “real” case) are free through this, but you can purchase each after that point on here. Just get it through another method to finish, if you can. There’s a release via the Nintendo Switch, as well as through Steam on PC. Please play it on either of the other two, if you have the ability to. I’ve helped my bf through his playthrough on Steam and it looks, plays, and feels so much better than the iOS version..Version: 1.01.00

✓ Love the game series, didn’t really like the appSo at around April-ish, I started playing the Ace Attorney series for the first time on a ROM on my computer (dont worry, I had already bought the game). When I saw that the rest of the games were on the App Store, I was ecstatic. I downloaded all the apps and started playing them. When I was playing the game on this app, something was really off. The app seemed glitchy, buggy, and not really well put together. Now, there were a couple of glitches i understood, but when I got to Rise from the Ashes, my gosh, that case is a nightmare. I don’t even know where to start on the bugs. Compared to the other Ace Attorney games, which I’ve finished all of them, this app seems rushed and not well put together. I wish the devs in Capcom would give this app a little love and fix some of the glitches and make the UI more user friendly..Version: 1.01.00

Don't let the hardcore fanatics trick you.It's a rule of thumb that currently in the Japanese games industry; Square-Enix are shooting themselves in the foot by not remaking FFVII and sticking to mobile freminum card games. These kinds of bad business decisions not only insults investors but also faithful gamers who have once lived through a golden age of games. Capcom, on the other hand, has been stable but have released a vast catalogue of revision games from their Street Fighter franchise to Monster Hunter (e.g. their third installment being remade numerous times; 3DS version recently released). Phoenix Wright is a franchise which has suffered this same revisionist peddling. Not only are they insulting to buy (after having already purchased the DS and iOS versions), Capcom has the audacity to release a "HD" version and charging a ridiclious $18 AUD for all three games that most fans have already purchased numerous times in the past; from the Japanese release (on GBA) to it's faithful western release (NDS). Be respectful to yourself and don't buy the game (since Capcom ain't going to respect you). 2 stars for great games. By all means, get it if you have never played them and iOS is really only your mobile gaming platform, but grab a pre-owned copy on the DS if you've missed out and have a DS. Pre-owned because it won't funnel money back to Capcom as a protest against insulting business practices - also the reason why three stars are gone..Version: 1.00.02
✓ Slow and boringAm I missing something on this game??? I find it slow paced and very boring. Feels like all you do is read waffle and tap the screen to progress thru the inane conversations between the characters. You have to read so much irrelevant rubbish 'conversation' in order to get to the part you can actually play... I found myself becoming frustrated at it. I think the price is OTT as well, can't imagine why people would be happy to pay such a price for a game on the iphone/iPad?!? ✓ Great game subpar uiI like how closely it follows the anime but still gives you wiggle room to figure out the case even if you know the results from the anime. My main gripe is you can skip past the dialogue which goes at a set pace. It takes so long to play one round and then the interlude cutscenes take forever. There is also no cloud save so if you come back after deleting it you have to start from the beginning which is why I would like the skip function. Particularly when they show the date and time before a scene it’s painfully slow. Letter by letter slow..Version: 1.01.00
✓ Are you kidding me?Spirit of Justice and Dual Destinies were pulled off the App Store. Are you kidding me? Removing them entirely does not solve the issue or refund those who purchased them. ✓ Better off playing the 3 games elsewhereI played the cases you get for free & loved it. The first 2 games were great. The third game, however, is why I’m writing this review. I started the 3rd game’s 1st case & all of a sudden, various sfx cut out! To restore it, you have to close out of the app! The games really aren’t the same w/o sfx. This happened before with the 2nd game, but it wasn’t frequent enough to be an issue. With the 3rd game, it does this every other freakin’ minute! It’s insufferable! It completely sabotages the game’s tone & pacing. Right as I start to get invested- boom, the sfx cut out. But the sfx issues aren’t the only things wrong, oh no. Typos are incredibly persistent, at their worst in the 5th case of the 1st game. For example, easy stuff like a steak was typed as “stake” once. Punctuation was forgotten often. In fact, one item’s description was a repeat of another item’s description, only missing the first line!! How is this kind of stuff acceptable? Furthermore, I was looking up how to fix the audio problems earlier, and saw people talking about how the iOS port butchers the music (which is one of the critical parts!) & and the visuals of the originals. Truly disappointing. I’m regretting having paid for all 3 games. If you’re dead set on buying at least one of the games, I beg of you, DON’T BUY THE THIRD ONE!!! ✓ Good but not greatThere’s things about this port that I don’t like. Like some of the pictures they show have been have been cut for some reason. The sound could be better in my opinion. But overall it’s good enough if you wanna get into the ace attorney games. I just feel like the updates miss the mark a bit. For starters, I’d love them to bring back the old pixel art style. Or at least give us some options to toggle between old and new. And also I’d love the old unique interface back from 2010 lol. Seriously the 2010 version of this port was the superior version overall. All it needed was for a couple of bugs to be sorted out and some resolution scaling and boom! ✓ Needs work...This game is fantastic but the app has some issues that need to be dealt with. It almost seems laggy with how slow the menus work and the fact you can't fast forward text is irritating especially for faster readers or people who are just replaying the game. Also the screen needs to be optimised for iPhone 5 and above users as the black bars at the top and bottom are annoying. No in between. I suspect it’s too slow because the animation looped while the scene for Edgeworth’s plane was still showing. Was the text speed slowed down for this game? I could have sworn the original version was better with text display. - item descriptions and text often spill over to next item or dialog box - fingerprint mini game is not well explained. (Swiping up from the bottom may also suspend the app in iOS.) - auto-orientation only works when normal dialog advance button is available - audio glitched out in 3rd game once. The characters are less animated, the redrawn sprites don't look anywhere as good as the original, the text is slow with no way to fast forward like the DS version. If you have never played the Ace Attorney Series, definitely grab this. It's the part where you have to write Ema's name on the jar. I can't seen to connect all the dots together without the game submitting my unfinished dot connections. I complete drawing the E, then move on to M, and just before I finish drawing in the A, the game acts like I finished and presents my unfinished drawing. This is actually hindering me from progressing. There's no way around it for me. Please fix this. ✓ Many GlitchesThe game has been great up until I got to "Rise from the Ashes." My God. This Case is broken to the max. The hit boxes are out of whack, the Court Record is messed up, the characters' lines are occasionally cut off, some dialogue options don't appear after showing evidence, etc. These glitches also appear in other cases (Rise from the Ashes was just the best example). In one case (I forgot which specific case), you have to meet Detective Gumshoe, but he doesn't appear in the place he's supposed, leaving the player stuck. ✓ Why No Updates, Capcom?I’ve been a fan of the Ace Attorney franchise since 2013, and my first introduction to the series was on iOS. Back then, this game was awesome. But in the last seven years, the trilogy has been remastered for the Wii, Switch, Xbox, PS4, and PC (via Steam). It looks and feels a lot more crisp on all of those platforms. As I write this (July 2020), it has been over two years since Capcom last updated the game for iOS (which added iOS 11 support). For whatever reason, it seems a bit like they’re cutting loose the iOS version and users. If you buy the trilogy and all the cases on iOS you can still play it all the way through, but don’t expect much in the way of updates. I can’t imagine it would be especially difficult to bring this app in line with the other remasters, though. TLDR; don’t buy the Ace Attorney Trilogy on iOS unless Wii/Switch/PS4/XBox/Steam aren’t options..Version: 1.01.00
✓ ReviewOverall, an engaging game based on the Japanese judiciary. Perfect for those that relish thinking outside of the box to solve situational intricacies. However, I cannot help to feel let down, having purchased an older phoenix wright game that was available in the app store for purchase a few years back. The fact that I must repurchase the same episode series again makes me believe that I’ve been wronged financially by Capcom who no longer guarantees updates for the older game. ✓ The Typos Only Make it FunnierSo many spelling and grammar errors not present in the original game and it's impossible to beat case 1-5 ("rise from the ashes") since the game registers the correct way of connecting the dots on the jar wrong. But good luck getting to that point since it takes forever to type out the green text whenever you go somewhere new. The original app with the DS/GBA graphics is better but isn't compatible with newer iOS devices so rip :(.Version: 1.00.06
✓ AMAZING Game, But Don’t Buy on MobileI’ve been playing this series for the first time, and I really want to emphasize how much fun the game itself really is. Very fun characters with highly entertaining murder mysteries that are enjoyable to unravel! However, I highly recommend not getting this series on mobile if you happen to have a Steam account, Switch, or Nintendo DS or 3DS. The mobile version is very buggy, and it really dampens the experience of playing these games. The sound effects cut out all the time, and often won’t come back until the game is reset. I’ve had the game freeze on me, crash multiple times, and one time glitch out especially bad with missing menus and no dialogue pop ups. Despite the series being fantastic, I regret buying this on mobile and have been telling others to buy it on different platforms..Version: 1.01.00
✓ Flawed but funThe game is a good and fun point and click game with a great concept let down by some poor creative work and some of the functions being poorly implemented. The writers were just not quite smart enough to pull off the implementation of the contraction system during the trial game play. Ie numerous contradictions often exist in a witness testimony that either the writers didn’t identify themselves, require following the devotees logic to the conclusion rather than a smarter more flexible process or otherwise couldn’t be bothered to address them. The result of this is some very stifled, frustrating and unrewarding game play during the height of the drama in the game. For example the testimony of lotta in the edgeworth case. Numerous contradictions exist in the testimony with regards to the witness hearing two shots despite the forensics identifying the weapon being fired three times. The camera only automatically taking a photo for one shot but not the other… all of which require an explanation to the court… but Because the game developers failed to implement a flexible logical system for the court room, or otherwise overlooked obvious contradictions… your cases fail due to the judge saying there is no contradiction when there clearly is. It reduces the court gameplay to clicking the right buttons in the right order following a poorly thought out sequence rather than undermining the prosecution. This game could be great but despite it being a port it could use some patching and re work by the developers to improve the court room aspect to be a battle of wits rather than simply backwards engineering a game developers thought process..Version: 1.01.00

✓ Great game but…The Ace Attorney Trilogy, is one of the greatest masterpieces in gaming. There’s great characters and stories to enjoy. 14 brilliant gripping cases to solve. But why have I put 2 stars? Firstly, this game is in HD. It’s not! The game is very badly designed and you can have the game sometimes skip dialogue. This is annoying, especially when I played this version first. Secondly, the first game has the best quality. Justice For all and Trials and Tribulations on the other hand, don’t? The game cuts out music and sound very regularly, which for someone like me who loves to dive in the atmosphere, is annoying. Thirdly, Justice For All and Trials and Tribulations soundtracks are from the GBA. The GBA has awful music. But the DS is better. I don’t mind tracks like The Fragrance Of Dark Coffee, but the DS version is much better. Finally, if you are planning on buying this game, please buy the 2019 remaster instead! ✓ If you have any other way to play these games, do it.As the title says above. If you’re wanting to get into the series, any other port would be a good way to play them. Including emulation. The iOS port is absolutely abysmal, with music from 2 of the 3 games having been replaced by the older tracks from the GBA versions, or just missing and replaced by different tracks entirely. The interface doesn’t work well. There’s constant glitches that affect gameplay and knowledge of cases. And it is, bar none, the absolute worst looking version of any of the ports of the game, including the original on the GBA. Animations are missing 50% of the frames so they’re composed of only key frames, making them look jarring and move robotically. This is one of the best visual novel series’ of all time, but please, do not play this port. Pick it up on Switch/PC/PS4/XBOX, the 3DS, the DS or the emulated DS version (using a legally obtained copy, of course). But do not play this port..Version: 1.01.00
✓ Great game but paywalledLoved the first title but was very disappointed to discover that the rest of the game will cost $15 to play. I have uninstalled the app and am now purchasing a Nintendo 3DS XL and all of the Ace Attorney games released for that platform..Version: 1.00.06
✓ Great games, let down in some areasFirst things first: the Phoenix Wright games are absolute masterpieces of storytelling. The main cast of characters are deep and believable, and each episode has its own unique (and frequently outright insane) supporting characters. If you haven't played these games on the DS, this is an excellent chance to catch up. Most everything said about those games applies equally here. That said, the port is at most adequate. The catchy music has come over intact, and the redrawn character art, while a bit uneven in quality, faithfully recreates the original designs. The UI is pretty dreadful, managing to be less responsive and fluid than it was on the DS, despite the iPhone's processing muscle. Additionally, the 3D cutscene that opens Act 5 of the first game has been replaced with a lower quality, sprite-based one. These are by all means still well worth playing, but it's a shame that these issues mar the overall experience..Version: 1.00.02
✓ It's meh.This is probably the worst port of the trilogy. They tried using updated graphics, but those cause huge stuttering for the ENTIRE GAME, which is a problem when the text crawling gets slower because of it. Not to mention the other menus feel extremely lazy, there's no transitions or pause music or anything. It's just normal buttons that could be made in photoshop to manage the menu. Bland. I don't recommend using this port to introduce yourself to the series, because it runs like crap. This is from an iPhone 6 user..Version: 1.00.06
✓ DissapppointedI’ve been meaning to feed this back for a while. I bought Ace attorney as a single title- the single title has since been phased out and you can only download the bundle pack! It will not let me restore my purchase so if I want to play the original again (which I do) I have to buy it again!! Games may be cheaper these days but it seems they have a much shorter life span! ✓ Fun but risky for photosensitive playersThis game is fun and I’ve not encountered any glitches. It’s easy to play and somewhat addicting. All that being said, there are specific instances, many of which occur in the courtroom, where a reveal is accompanied by a barrage of strobe lights. The screen will flash white repeatedly in quick succession. This puts photosensitive players like myself at risk of seizures, which can be a very serious matter. My biggest issue with this is that this effect is entirely unnecessary. It does not contribute anything to the game. Therefore, it’s removal would not take away from the experience..Version: 1.02.00

✓ Terrible port of a brilliant gameI was excited to see that Phoenix Wright was available for me to have on my phone. However, if you have the original DS version of the game DO NOT BUY THIS. The animation is worse than the DS, the text is too slow, and they even lazily left out some of the key character movement animations that really made the characters come to life in the original game. This is just a pointless cashgrab, trying to get people to buy this classic game. I can’t bring myself to give it 1 star because it is still a brilliant game, but this version is terrible !.Version: 1.01.00
✓ Great game white flashes not so muchThis game is great and is super fun to play yet the constant white flashes are hurting my eyes and giving me head aches. I have to close my eyes when I think the *pow* sounds are coming or a character has an emotion because this quick white flash comes in between the dialogue and it’s just really giving me eye strain. Other than that the game is wonderful Update: this games been around for years like over 12??! And I’m sure they know about this white flash issue. Even if they could have a function to turn it off that would be great. Disappointed I already paid for al the games and I can’t play them anymore bummer.Version: 1.01.00
✓ Great title, poor portThere's no question that the title is a good one - but the presentation needs work. The sound is quite good and the graphics are quite nice, but it has a mediocre interface (the menus are poor, buttons disappearing and reappearing between typing text, ugly loading menu). It's also disappointing that the title doesn't fill the whole iPhone 5 display - but worse than that is the frame rate. It's horrible. Bringing the DS titles out felt smooth as butter. This isn't. It gets boring very quickly. Great title, but until at least the frame rate issue is addressed I'd recommend the original DS version. Capcom can and does do better work than this..Version: 1.00.02
