✓ Very impressive but needs work.Pretty amazing that this works on the iPhone, but even on the lowest graphics settings possible you run into slow downs where the fps tanks. Hopefully a few updates should address this. Using an external cooler is recommended as after a short time the phone throttles and the fps dips. Also an external controller is highly recommended. Some strange bugs for me, mainly the audio going out of sync during cutscenes. I’m imagining with a controller, external cooler, and some updates, this will be close to perfect..Version: 1.1.2

✓ Horrible portI was so excited to finally see a true AAA title like Resident Evil being ported to the iPad. It’s been a long while since iOS has seen some excellent horror games. However, this port is really bad. They just slapped the touch controls from console and it covers the whole screen! Like they didn’t even bother trying to adapt the controls for mobile?? Oh and the graphics don’t fill up the entire screen either. I paid $15 for the full game (glad I bought it while it’s on sale) and I hope this gets fixed soon..Version: 1.1.3

✓ Would be HigherFirst of let me say, I’m impressed with the current landscape of mobile gaming. Being able to play resident evil on the iPhone is great. However, it comes with its caveats. Personally, the graphics are great and it’s the mobile controls are understandable but a separate controller is definitely needed to play well. To keep this review spoiler free I’ll speak vaguely. The game is very unstable after finishing a certain boss fight level and cut scene with the merchant. It manages to crash almost every and leaves you unable to progress. Even if you manage to get past that scene it’ll randomly crash shortly after. I double even tripled checked to see if it was a Graphical issue but to no avail . I even re did the missions to make sure it wasn’t a case of a bad save file But at last it did not work. I hope they would fix the crashing Quickly as I’m not the only one experiencing this . ✓ Well…It’s functional but bad first I choose from all the presets to just see the range of what the 15 pro max can do and honestly they didn’t look at that different balance and performance were basically the same, plus the game froze on the screen although I could hear myself moving and opening menus and it force closed on me once, honestly if you wanna play around then go ahead since it’s free up to a point but don’t buy the full thing. ✓ I respect the effort but…While I applaud CAPCOM for bringing this to the iPhone and iPads, there’s still a lot of issues. First, there is no full screen mode when using the iPad Pro extended desktop. Next, the controller only display’s information for X-Box controllers. This is really a no go if you’re using a PS5 or Nintendo controller. At times the game feels sluggish even with the settings turned down. The camera is hard to turn and aim due to choppy issues in frame rate. Now issues for players who purchased this on the Mac App Store. Resident Evil Village is not a universal app. Meaning not only do you have to purchase it again, the save data from iOS and iPad OS will not work with the MacOS. ✓ Play it in winter if you’re cold.This is guaranteed to turn your phone into the perfect hand warmer. No longer do you need to do something nonsensical like running your hands together. Playing this game for just 30 minutes was enough for my phone to feel like it was ready to self immolate. The display dimmed after 15 minutes of gameplay with the default settings, which really helped since you already can’t see a dang thing in this game. Apple maybe should have considered putting a more robust cooling system in the 15 Pro lineup, but, alas, they didn’t. If you have a controller grip you’ll probably be fine (if you’re cool with 20% an hour battery drain) but overall I would recommend anyone choosing this as their way to play the game. ✓ Needs optimizingI have the 15 pro on Verizon not sure if carrier is relevant. I also have 256gb storage I’m sure that’s relevant. I tried playing this with my ps5 controller and the controls are so delayed in comparison to the ps5 version. Of course the ps5 is a console so I expect there to be a difference but this is suppose to be fully optimized for the 15 pro/max models and if it’s not optimized for my 15 pro that’s not great. I also played it with just the touch screen, I can’t imagine that’s the best way to play it but again it’s not the best. ✓ Huge download keeps failingWhen you 1st launch the game it notifies you that a > 7 gb transfer is necessary to play. Its states not to quit the game or power off your phone. Problem is your iPhone by default auto-locks after 30 seconds as the game is not programmed to prevent this. Then we you unlock your screen and return to the app its has a network error. Restarting the download is not possible. I have tried this 3 different times now and increased auto lock time to 5 minutes. I wanted to support this game given its one of the 1st of its kind. ✓ Warning: Save data will randomly corrupt, including cloud savesAfter playing for a good amount of progress, I booted up the game only to be greeted with an error: "Save data from a different Apple ID cannot be used. Application failed to launch." and the game froze there. Reopening the game resulted in the same error. That's weird, considering I've only ever used the same Apple ID on my device with the game. No sweat, I've got cloud saves so I'm okay, right? Wrong. When I reinstalled the game and attempted to download my cloud save, it said the cloud save was corrupt and couldn't be used. Well that's okay, I also saved my progress on my other device so I can just boot the game there and reupload the save data from there, right? Also wrong. For some reason, every device I own suddenly decided to nuke my save and block my cloud save. Hours of progress, all gone. I'm not going to play this game any more until this is fixed, because who knows how many hours I'll waste before the game suddenly decides to destroy all of my save data again?.Version: 1.1.2

✓ Proof of concept, but unfinished..Yes, it’s impressive that an iPhone can run a console game. But, let’s be honest, the iPhone can’t REALLY handle this game yet. In many parts, the main hall of the mansion for example, the frame rate struggles, maybe drops into the 20s. Hopefully, with a little optimization the A17 chip will be able to do the work, but even with all settings at the lowes,t it still struggles in parts. ✓ Good but has a HUGE bugWhen this game works it’s brilliant. But there’s a huge bug that keeps ruining it. 1.. The game keeps closing itself down after very short periods of inactivity. This means downloading the additional content necessary to play the game was near impossible, as you need to “keep the app open” as instructed for data to download. However, the app shuts itself down if you don’t touch the screen for a short period. Therefore cancelling the download. Frustrating to say the least. 2. The app shuts itself down even if you try to pause the game or turn off the screen to do something else (eg go to get a glass of water for 30 seconds). When you unlock your phone the game will be completely shut down and you’ll have to relaunch the whole app again and go all the way back to your last save point. Please please please turn off this auto-shutdown feature within the app. ESPECIALLY during the download phase..Version: 1.1.2

I could only play through to were I was about to see the first view of the village after the beginning car crash, before the game crashed. Two tests have been done to test both the highest resolution and frames etc. as well as the lowest. Both of which I’ve experienced game crashes and frame rate drops. ✓ Fix Controller Aiming PleaseThe game runs great on my iPhone, and I’m very impressed by how well it runs on an M2 iPad. However, I’ve found looking around with a controller to be quite delayed. I’ve tried multiple wired and wireless controllers, with all having the same issue. Even using the touch control stick has the same result. Oddly, when you use the touch aiming without the virtual stick it feels fine. Once this is fixed my review will be five stars..Version: 1.1.2

✓ Chugs batteryTo be able to play this kind of game doesn’t come without its compromises of just absolutely destroying your battery life. Probably 10% per 10 minutes or so. ✓ Dear developersDear developers the game is amazing and runs amazingly good on both the M2 ipad and on the 15 pro max. Graphics amazing, my only concern is the buttons layout, its just terrible, there is not words to describe how awful it is, it takes all the screen even though I resized, two much stuff going on. The only way to enjoy the game is with an xbox or ps controller because your touch controller is awful. So for me now playing on the go is impossible with that terrible idea of yours. Please do something about it. Design touch controllers for mobile so we can enjoy the game on the go. I don’t wanna be on the bus or on the train playing with a controller. Is not ideal. Instead of reinventing the interface to compliment mobile devices a virtual controller is used and zero thought has gone in to considering how best to make the game playable other than the expectation that people will use a physical controller. Lastly, I can’t help but comment on how power hungry this game, or port rather is, I lost 20% of my 15 pros battery when playing the game for an hour with acceptable settings for a fair but not stunning experience. ✓ Good but needs some TLCGood game, however I find there is lag and an FPS drop when there are more than three enemies on the screen at one time which makes the game harder to play and enjoy. Alongside this, when the lag starts the audio de-syncs and when enemies get close the FPS drops severely. Controls with the gamepad are good however the aim assist is almost non-existent despite the option being available (this may relate to the lag when there are multiple enemies). Settings need to be low for game to run w/o lag. The UI on touch screen is invasive so would recommend a controller. PS5 controller connected to phone really well. Pink boxes have appeared when ps5 controller connects to phone. It’s as if they’ve taken an emulator version and slapped it onto mobile devices, resulting in very low-quality graphics. What baffled me the most was the decision to lock the base game behind in-app purchases. It’s as if the developers are trying to generate more downloads at the cost of the players’ experience. After 5-10 min, the progress bar jumped to about 20-25% and then never moved again, even after leaving it for another 20 min or so (and i have a fast cable). 7+ GB? Really? And the virtual controls shown on the download screen (when you tap on the screen) are some of the busiest, most complex I've ever seen on a mobile game - they look like they were copied from a console controller. This is not a mobile optimized game - it's pretty clearly a console game that's been ported. That's not the way mobile games should be made..Version: 1.1.2
