✓ Save data always lostI’m a very casual gamer, maybe a couple of days a month at most. So I’ve opened up this game three different times and played for about an hour each time. Each time I opened it, I had to start a new game, because my save data went missing. The first two times, I had barely started, so oh well, but now I opened it up for the third time, and I assumed that it must be there, but no, only the option to start a new game again. Well *%?& me once, shame on you, twice, shame on me, but three times and this app is deleted..Version: 1.0.01
✓ Need more workNo controller support takes a star away. No proper auto save though is the biggest issue. I lost a lot of progress, had to redo several quests. It’s unforgivable that a game like this doesn’t auto save. You can only save when at your house, so I can’t just pick up the phone and play for a bit, as I can’t do much if I need to return back home to save all the time before I put the phone down. ✓ What is wrong with the graphics?What is wrong with the graphic of this game? The rendering feel like pull straight from a PSP era game, or even worse. This is not about the cartoon style but what is wrong with the texture quality and lighting? With 4GB of download it is certainly not something we would expect to see. And did Capcom not realized that we have high ppl ‘retina’ display today? What’s with the resolution of intro video? At the very least, figure out how to render text clearly on display before you publish or even porting your old school rendering engine. ✓ Deeply frustratingIt’s so close to being good. I’m thankful there’s a “full” rpg on Apple Arcade besides oceanhorn now, albeit with noticeably less effort put into art design, but the frustrating touch controls and constant double tapping went out of style years ago. To say nothing of the world’s most annoying companion cat, constantly interrupting with the same stupid prompts. As if pausing for battle prompts every two and a half seconds (if you remember to 3x the speed, that is) wasn’t bad enough, the over five-hour long tutorial stretch with carpet bombs of “tips”, and a practically nonexistent autosave (for a mobile game!!!) would lead a lesser man to put an iPhone 12 Pro Max-shaped hole in the wall..Version: 1.0.01
✓ Can’t load beginnings dataI’ve got several hours of monster hunter beginnings play time that should be loadable so I can skip a bit of storyline in this game, but when I try to load the backup, it says it can’t load it. Would happily give 5 stars if I find out I didn’t just waste several days of playtime. I’ve already sent in a tech support request, so hopefully someone gets to it soon. I really don’t want to go through the exp and item grinding I just did all over again. Update: just received a response from tech support saying that the upload perk isn’t available for the Apple Arcade version and then had the nerve to say it was only available for the *paid* version, like having Apple Arcade is free or something… lowering the star rating now. The only reason it’s getting even the one star is because the game is playable. Customer support is rude and the claim of it being the same as the $20 version is clearly and demonstratively false..Version: 1.0.01
✓ No controller support and poor save systemFor people who want to airplay to the tv or a MacBook and play the game on a bigger screen or just want a better control scheme you’re out of luck because this version doesn’t support controllers. ✓ Monster Hunter LiteThis game is fun and approachable, but extremely slow paced (even after changing the dialogue and fighting speed settings to maximum). The problem is the controls are horrible on iOS. It would be nice if they ported an Apple Arcade version over to the AppleTV so I could sit back and play with a real controller. ✓ Enjoyed the game but bad save issuesI was obsessed with this game from the moment I got it. I got quite a few hours of gameplay in and was doing good with money and levels. Then I take a day break and come back to find out none of that was saved. Super frustrating considering I remember seeing it being saved. Most of my progress is just gone. ✓ It’s… okI really liked the add, and that is why I got the game, but the regulations were really strict. I think the quests should be easier, and I think that the game in general is really hard. I also think that the speech should be in English or any other language, even if it is in English at the bottom of the screen. I also don’t really like the fact that the game is in all anime. Over all I think the game is OK. 1 last thing. I don’t like the fact that when you ride your monster, it’s face always in on the ground, looking like the creature is having a really hard time. Closed my phone because i had to do something, opens my phone up and i had to start over with getting my stone again. If there was a way to save the game whenever. I will give it 5 stars. ✓ GlitchyI want to love it but the save and glitches are so annoying. It doesn’t have an auto save feature - you have to manually save at a save point; however, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I get a phone call while I’m playing, the fame crashes and I lost ALL progress. I hate it so much. It’s happened to me three times in the last few days and lost a decent amount of progress every time someone has called me. ✓ I enjoy the game, but the cat is annoying.The game is very well made, I have and will spend hours playing it. However, the cat companion Navi is beyond annoying. Please add a way to turn off its random comments in gameplay, they are not needed. No substance is added through this cats comments. My biggest gripe is when you are collecting resources in a monster den and Navi comments telling you to hurry up and leave the den after every resource collected. Other than Navi being a completely useless and annoying character the game is entertaining. would be five stars if Navi was not in the game at all, and if the save system had a little polishing..Version: 1.0.01

✓ What a disappointmentI’m used to playing RPGs, and I know that in some games scrambling for a save point is taxing, so I’m not as bothered with this as some reviewers. What I do find puzzling is no controller support. This was made for a handheld console which had physical buttons. No I know this is a me problem, but I have big hands, I always have to buy a plus size phone to use the keyboard, so I find it impossible to play games on a phone without a controller. ✓ What makes this special?So, I’d bought this game already and was intrigued when I heard it was coming to Apple Arcade because I figured there would be added features. Nope. There’s no “plus” to the + in the name, it’s just the same game, just on Apple Arcade. At the very least I would have loved controller support, and its lack of inclusion (especially on an Apple Arcade game and something that was ported from a handheld console) is baffling. But… my middling score only reflects on what it lacks as an Apple Arcade title, not on the gameplay and content of the game. ✓ The Game’s Fine, But The Controls Are NastySo I got this after playing the demo of MH Stories 2 on the Nintendo Switch, obviously I didn’t expect it to be the same, but I at least wanted to be able to use a controller to play the first game in the Monster Hunter Stories series, but I looked around in the game and literally could not find a setting for that? Fortunately I have an Apple TV, I thought if I could find the game on there, then they will have to let me use a controller, and after searching for the game for about half an hour, I found that the game simply does not exist on the Apple TV?! By now I was frustrated, I tried to see if I could find a settings menu that maybe I missed the first time around so that maybe I could change the god-awful default controls, and there is literally NO SETTINGS MENU?!? HOW?! WHO THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA?!? There is no way to change any settings in the game, I know it sounds crazy, but if somehow missed it after deliberately searching everywhere for it, they need to make it easier to find. I hope I’m just being stupid and missed a settings menu, because I can’t stand using the weird touchscreen joysticks that drag the joysticks around if your finger goes too far away, it’s just so ridiculous….Version: 1.0.01

I can’t understand that a game that was built for a system with in built controllers can’t be ported with support on mobile? Even angry birds has mobile support…! My hands on the display take away from the immersion of the game and the beauty of the high contrast. I guess if they haven’t added support by now then they aren’t going to. ✓ Fun game with crash issuesI thoroughly enjoy this game and hope Stories 2 gets ported over as well. I only have two issues with this game, but they’re unfortunately significant for me. The game allows infrequent opportunities to save and auto save, but this wouldn’t be a big deal if I could reliably play without crashes. The game crashes every time I receive an inbound call, and the only way I can prevent that is by placing my phone on Do Not Disturb to block calls. This makes for a frustrating playing experience since I have to stay available for work. I’d probably rank this game 5 stars if it wasn’t for the crashing bug..Version: 1.0.01

✓ Not badIt’s a pretty good game, my main problem with it is that there’s no auto save. I went through the first part of the game 7 times because I had to go do something and I left the game, and after you get your first monster there’s the quest to get the egg, I did it and got back to town then left the game and it didn’t save anything, so I have to redo the quest again. It just makes the game feel un rewarding and annoying. The fighting mechanics are pretty good tho..Version: 1.0.01
