✓ Good appGood for video and music and pictures, Id give you 5 stars but why should i buy your app twice?! Literally every app on the store, allows you to download the same app to ipad or iphone. Not yours “do you wanna support the devs?!” I did i bought your app and all the in app purchases. Yet the iphone version keeps asking me to “buy it” why should i? ✓ Ok, but needs improvingCan use the in-built web browser to download directly into oplayer. saves the need to connect to itunes to upload your vids. MKV format doesn't play well at all, keeps on skipping frames. wifi transfer between the iPhone and iPad doesn't work if both devices use o player, but can use oplayers wifi feature with other applications. support from the makers regarding these problems isn't very good either. would give it 4 or 5 stars if these issues are sorted out!.Version: 0

This is one of the main reasons I got this app as it connects to my Samba server at home. Without this functionality it’s just not as useful. ✓ Dont botherThe world is screaming out for an app that can properly play video files other than apple ones (such as divx and mkv) This isnt it. The audio is completely out of synch on standard def divx files. Even on low res files it is rubbish There is a feature you can use called skip frames. That marginally improves the synch problems, but makes it look like you are watching it through a strobe light, it seems to drop half the frames The program developer is quick to respond to issues, but his suggestion is of no value. This was his response "When you switch off the skip frame, it will looks jumpy, but better sync. When you switch on the skip frame, it will not jumpy, but maybe out of sync, if your video resolution is large" stay away.Version: 0
✓ Movie and Music Problem on OPlayer HDThe problem with playing music is that each time I switch from OPlayer HD to another application, the music pause for about 1 second. OPlayer for IOS does not have this problem. It become annoying when I select a new song every time. Also all my video in h264 when play in Oplayer HD have a stutter. The stutter is small but is perceptible. VLC does not have this problem. I bought all the video and sound codec in OPlayer HD, it does not fix this problem. For this reason I give a one star review. I give a five star if these two problem is fixed and a three star if one of the problem is fixed..Version: 4.3.3

✓ Brilliant in it's simplicity.I bought this app to be able to play backing tracks for my performances. The ability to run the whole lot off my iPad without having to lug my laptop around has been brilliant. This little program simply works. The playlist function is easy to manage (once I figured out how to change the order of the songs played), and it is a very stable app, where others have given me headaches by simply kicking me out at times. It handles a great variety of files and does so with ease. My one criticism would be the fact that it doesn't stay up after the screen has been locked and unlocked. But all in all, I love it! The one thing I was looking forward to is the ability to transfer videos from my network (Samba) shares over wifi so I can watch them "off line". Unfortunately this is buggy. Sometimes the shares can be browsed and sometimes not. The app seems to open several sessions on the remote computer regardless of what you're doing and subsequently the remote computer can't service them all. ✓ CRIPPLEWARE of a Formerly Great AppOplayer was for many years a go to for all video. The dev improved and finessed it to a fine and totally needful app. In terms of playback, it’s still up there. It can indeed play many and sundry audio or video file formats which other apps can not. Occasionally the audio lagged behind the video. For all that, I would otherwise give it a solid 4.5. But the dev has earned 1 star by disabling one of the most basic features of Oplayer. Samba shares are now restricted to streaming. That is, you can scan for videos on your local network, from a computer or storage device, and stream them. But you can not download them to your iPad. This is an absolutely inscrutably bad decision to remove this feature. The WHOLE POINT of Oplayer is to download videos to it to play when away from home, without the need of a network. Why eliminate the basic functioning necessary to use the device? Also deleted is apparently the in-app web browser. I never used it much, but valued it being there. Perhaps this was in response to the recent hardware exploits. One can use another browser to send a downloaded web file to Oplayer. And if one is moving files to Oplayer from a computer, one can still move them from a computer using the Oplayer FTP or Bonjour servers. But if you use a net storage device, you are now up the creek. I heartily encourage the dev to RESTORE SAMBA FUNCTION immediately. Well, now I have to go find a new video player..Version: 3.4

The latest update crashes when you try to use wifi transfer, no audio in MKV files, and it seems to be a bit sketchy with avi files too sometimes. ✓ Any refunds for no audioI used to use this as my main video player. I Purchased it. They of course were happy to take my money and I was happy to give as it did what it said and did it well. They then drop an update on everyone that totally changes the app, it now no longer does what it advertised to do. ✓ Imperfect, but not there yetWhen I bought the iPad, I wanted to watch my downloaded tv shows when i can't use the Internet or 3G, shows not from the iTunes but from a free lock video site. At the moment the video app is only compatible to mp4 format, it's hard to convert from an mkv file with sub right now but without subs is just a pieces of cake. When I found oplayer HD it's says it can play more video format than the video app. The truth is it can play any format but not perfect. I put on a 720p mkv file, the audio played smoothly but the video is just so laggy. All you can see is half displayed images of the video than a second some pixels shows up. I tried to exit it with the back button then the whole app froze. Luckily there is the square button which takes you away from the app. I tried the 480p mkv file with sub, it a lot better than the 720p file but still got some problems. As always the audio from the video goes smoothly and there are less lags than the 720p file. The other problem is that when I turn my sub on, it did't show up on the video. Even from any 480p file such as avi, it replies the same as the 480p mkv. So basically this app cannot play HD files properly. If the creators meet these problem then make some better improvements while some customers wait for some latest updates for this app. Then everybody especially me can be happy and enjoy our days..Version: 0

✓ Video thumbnailsApp has great reviews and good playback. However I loaded tons of tv shows onto my kindergarteners iPad with this app and was disappointed to learn video list appears in a text file list only. I did not find an option to display video list with thumbnails like so many other apps do. Now it will be a challenge for my daughter to pick shows without the help of a parent. ✓ Good at some things not so good at othersWhile I've been using VLC for years, the addition of video out was my main reason for getting OPlayer. A major bonus is that it plays audio that's been encoded at 5.1 so it means that you get to hear all the channels not just the background that happened so often with VLC. Also good is the addition of subtitles and video out. Bad points now, when using the Video out you need to go in to the settings and tell it that you want to use it otherwise you just get the standard mirroring output. While I can see the reasoning behind it, wouldn't it be better to use video out if the cable's connected and then have the option to force it to what you want if it's not what you want? Additionally I'd prefer that switch on the play screen rather than the settings screen because it's once you start playing a video that you notice it's on the wrong setting. I have also noticed that the video looks a bit choppy compared to other when I've compared the same AVI files on other apps on the same iPad2. While it doesn't make anything quite unwatchable, it's still there in the background reminding me that this could be better. Fix those things though and this could be awesome..Version: 2.0.01
✓ UnreliableI use OPlayer HD to play videos from my NAS on an SMB share. My iPad Pro has iOS 13.2.2. It works well for several months, but then for several weeks in a row it won’t show any content, just loading forever without any feedback or error message. When I go to my laptop, the NAS content shows up just fine without delay. Also I bought the application, but still it asks for more money, just to display images etc. I haven’t found anything better, but there is sure room for improvement..Version: 4.0.1

Also audio is out of sync a touch most of the time, 1080p support needed now as a a lot more stuff is coming through as hd.
