Calcbot 2 for Negative User Reviews

Large learning curveBasic functions are very differently from the regular iOS calculator app works and it doesn’t seem very intuitive. Lots of features though. It just operates so differently from all other calculators and calculator apps that I need to actively think about how to input my simple calculations into this calculator. This really just slows downs simple calculations I want to do. Been using it for like two months now and I’m still not used to it, not that I use it everyday, just when I need to calculate something simple. I think the hold to clear and pressing enter to confirm the calculations even though the answer is already presented really throws me off..Version: 2.4.4

Not the best appI have had calc bot for a while (> 1 year) and it’s a fine calculator....but, it isn’t any better than your typical computer calc, at least as I use it. There is a pause upon launching the app that is frustrating. Perhaps most perplexing is that I had used it for some time, but lost functionality 2 or 3 months ago as I had not paid for it. I already have a calculator on my phone and the lag when I start it makes it unlikely that I would have a need to pay for it. It is just convenient to have it on my iPad since I don’t have/can’t find a building in calc..Version: 2.4.2

Not feeling the love for CalcbotConvertbot was the most favoured app for unit conversion amongst the various ones I have. Calcbot does not, in my opinion, provide a good user experience. It has a competent calculator but if I want to conver, I swipe the screen. If I want to modify the values then I have to swipe back to the calculator, enter the values and swipe back again. Why can’t I just convert the values I want to in either part. I would continue to convertbot but it is not compatible with ios11..Version: 2.2

PLEASE MUTENice UI and easy to use but please provide mute option..Version: 2.3.1

No more on the watch? Why.Version: 2.3.1

Good, but needs updatingThis is a really nice calculator and conversion app which unfortunately has gone a long time without an update. It suffers from noticeable lag and still lacks split view and slide over compatibility..Version: 2.1.2

Terrible, Wrong AnswersThe calculator itself was fine but when it came to the measurements they were wrong, for example 1L does not equal 0.001mL!!!.Version: 2.0

Used to like it but now eh...Sorry but the fact that you can no longer delete the stuff in your history makes me sad ☹️ because that was the most fun part of the app just swiping to the left and watching them all go away it was so satisfying but now I cry myself to sleep every night and I have been forced to work out the maths my self 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 in conclusion it was a sneaky move but you will not get away with it! 💩 Yours truly, Sonny Jim Ps my grandpa has a fishing rod and he is NOT afraid to use it!!!!.Version: 2.4.2

Fed_upDoes not work on my iPhone.Version: 2.4.2

Problem...I bought it and i cannot use the converter on my apple watch....Version: 2.4.2

Good but it has one dealbreaker BUG!I wish the developer fix the bug where sometimes a “result” doesn’t show on the tape when pressing the “=“ button. Instead a blank space is generated and the expression is lost..Version: 2.4.4

Frustrating interface spoils a good ideaSo to convert an amount from one unit to another, you have to tap the amount into the calculator, swipe across using a very unintuitive swipe action that only works if you start your finger at the VERY edge of the screen, and the select your units. Then if you want to alter the figure you are converting, you have to swipe BACK to the calculator using the difficult swipe action, DELETE the figure and enter another one, then swipe BACK. I’m afraid I hate having to use this converter. It looks nice but the interface is seriously flawed an clunky. If you’re looking for a good unit converter, go elsewhere..Version: 2.3.1

Unacceptable Customer ServiceI tried on 3 occasions to contact customer support, and received no response. There is no user guide and very little support info in the app itself, so one is forced to waste valuable time attempting to verify its full functionality. In addition, the app developer forces the user to constantly be reminded that an in-app purchase is required to utilize most of the features that this app offers. And it does so in a very unpleasant way. With so many excellent calculators available, it is a disservice to others to recommend this app in light of its negative characteristics indicated above..Version: 2.4.4

Agreed on limited functionality...I have to agree with the other reviewer. Since meeting calc and convert, is not nearly as good. One practical annoyance is that the slider that gets you between calc and convert is hard to grab with the iPhone X inside an apple bumper case. It's hard to grab the edge of the screen... It's super annoying not being able to set your conversion values on one screen; you have to swipe back to the calc screen to enter them. Lastly, where's light conversion? Foot candles? Lumens? cd/m2?.Version: 2.3.1

Disappointed in TapbotsUsed to love Tapbots apps, they were brilliantly designed and always had well thought out interfaces. But after long periods (talking years!) of no updates, this overhaul is a big disappointment I (grudgingly) paid for the in app pro bundle to convert (only because their previous app Convertbot isn't updated for ios8 and now buggy) and I can select conversions but it prompts me to send the calculation (??) Also the Apple watch app is frustrating to convert. Only 4 presets. The tip calc on it is useful though This app is not intuitive at all and the swipe function is really at odds with the native iOS. Very disappointed. Would love to see Convertbot and Weightbot get the updates they deserve and keep their far superior interface. Come on Tapbot! Show people how it's done again!.Version: 2.1.1

Bring back Convertbot! The old app was brilliant and I would buy it again if Tapbots brought out an IOS11 version. This is far inferior and I ended up deleting it. Such a shame..Version: 2.4.2

Update takes the history awayAre you kidding me !? What a cheap money grab!!!! Why don’t you take the ability to add away in the next update ? Upgrade to pro if you want to add This is the most ridiculous downgrade I have seen since using the App Store for years..Version: 2.4.2

Was a good applicationI’m very disappointed in the developer of this application. I downloaded this app a few years ago because I really liked the fact that it had the scroll of the calculations you did above. But the developer decided to get greedy by deciding that they were going to take that option away that made this worth downloading now they want you to pay the money to use what they already let you used for years that is wrong it’s a scam and people should not be allowed to do stuff like that WARNING DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS APP..Version: 2.4.2

Doesn’t work on Apple WatchBought this and paid for the upgraded pro version of the app as well so I could use on my new Apple Watch series 4. It Doesn’t work on new watch as app not updated for OS5.I contacted developer who said they will upgrade it bug never gave any time frames but were happy to take my money under false advertising that it works on watch. Avoid this app until it runs on new watch OS..Version: 2.3.1

Feel cheated on......bought almost all Tapbots apps, and now have to pay again for a feature that I already paid for. Deleted app, done..Version: 2.4.4

Free version completely uselessDon’t download unless you want to pay. All functionality locked out. Less capable than search bar..Version: 2.4.2

These guys are crooks! For the last few years this app included a number of features. And recently they just up and remove them. They then force this advert onto you saying buy the ‘pro’ version. Which is just these existing features they removed. I’d NEVER buy their pro version as I bet in 1 year they’ll take away 50% of those features and demand you buy their new extra pro version. I’ve never once had an app developer behave like this. Normally they offer brand new features for their pro version. They don’t steal existing features from their loyal users and demand they now all pay for these. I’d highly recommend you steer well clear of this outfit as all the other +ve reviews are in relation to the previous version of their app. Not this dumbed down one. There’s heaps better paid calculators and I’d chose a much more ethical company then these guys if I was you..Version: 2.4.2

Number pad way too smallThere’s a lot of functionality with this calculator but the layout in use of space especially the keypad I find make this very frustrating to use. The keypad area is tiny compared to the rest of the layout and there seems to be no way to increase the size of the keypad to make it look similar to the calculator on an iPhone. The calculator has lots of functionality but it’s just not practical or at least I do not find it easy or quick to use and the wasted space on my iPad makes every day use just frustrating and not worth it..Version: 2.5.2

Disappointed!I bought this app mainly to use for the Apple Watch and was my favourite app ever. Specially for converting values. However, it’s been already over a month that watchOS5 came out and still hasn’t uploaded for watch05 support..Version: 2.3.1

Where is Convertbot!!!?Why did you do this? I managed to get the benefits of ConvertBot for as long as I could by not deleting it from my phone even after the app wasn’t on the AppStore. Now, it is completely dropped from support and it can’t be used anymore. CalcBot and it’s clean design doesn’t measure up to the same level. Why did you drop ConvertBot for this new design? To upsell? Really? You should had updated the look and feel and added that sales model to ConvertBot, I would had happily paid for unlocking features there -__-.Version: 2.3

Poor replacement for ConvertbotAs Convertbot, which I have used since it was first published, no longer works in iOS 11, I was more or less forced to get Calcbot, even though I have no need for a "better calculator”. I only need a converter app regularly. Calcbot simply does not work, or I have at least not been able to figure out how to perform any conversion. I have also not been able to find a manual anywhere on the publisher’s site or somewhere else. The publisher has also not responded to multiple requests for information or support. Convertbot was elegant and intuitive. Calcbot in neither..Version: 2.3

Have to purchase 2xI purchased the pro version and then once they updated it, they wanted me to pay again for the pro? That doesn’t make any sense since I originally paid for it. Don’t download unless you’re willing to pay money every update..Version: 2.4.4

Dishonest companyLatest update has removed free features like history tape and expression view so you now have to pay for what used to be free features! I updated my iPhone 8 so it no longer works properly but didn’t get round to updating my work iPhone 6s so at least the app still works properly on the work phone. Very disappointed at the sneaky way Tapbot has removed free features to force loyal customers to upgrade. However, they have just lost this customer..Version: 2.4.2

Pro version doesn’t work on WatchThe app works on the phone but if you want to use it on the watch like me then think again. It does not save any of the 4 settings for use on the watch. So you’re stuck with defaults. Enquired with support weeks ago but still not working. Save you’re money folks..Version: 2.3

Can’t hide historyThe screen becomes very cluttered quickly. Would really like to see an option to hide the history until I pull it down when needed..Version: 2.5.2

Waste of £2. UselessI saw this app as a recommendation on TechRadar as it has lots of conversion tools. Couldn’t find any way to access them. Nothing in the help. Don’t waste your time and money (even if it is only £2). Deleted the app..Version: 2.5.2

Very frustrating interfaceI have upgraded this app with IAP. I want to love this app. Its appearance is good - not too plain not overdone. Apple Watch app is a good bonus and well laid out. I was looking for a combination calculator and conversion app. Problem is I am constantly frustrated when trying to do simple things. The developer claims this app is intuitive, but I find the opposite to be true. After a month of swiping, pressing, and searching for solutions on Google, I still cant figure out something as simple as getting rid of the $ sign in the calculator numbers display. I want to just do plain arithmetic, I have tried altering conversions, I am at a loss. Swiping the result field left and right (but not any other part of the calculator) to access conversion options is not at all intuitive. Took me quite some time to figure out now to access the tape. Turns out, I think, that you first have hit the = sign, and then swipe down in the small field above results. You hit a “settings gear” icon to clear the tape or email it, or otherwise. These are actions, not settings. They should not be behind a classic “settings” icon. Other than the non-intuitive interface it is a great app. I think the developer can’t see the problem because they understand their own design and to them it SEEMS intuitive. The “action” part of the interface, if you know what to do, actually works quite well. If you use this app all the time it may become second nature. If like me and I assume most people, you use this app every once in a while, you may find the interface to be frustratingly obtuse. What this app desperately needs IMO is an on screen help function. Perhaps a ? symbol that when you press it brings up a screen overlay with text that describes what the various parts of the screen can do. With that I would give it 5 stars..Version: 2.4.2

A very poor user interfaceJust because you can do things doesn’t mean you should. There are many things the developer probably thought were cute but severely impact usability. (1) After keying in the first number and pressing an operations key, as you’re inputting the second number the display shows the result you would be getting should you press equals or another operator key rather than showing you the number you’re keying in. You can see the number you’re keying in, but it’s very small and below the main display. This means that when you’re unsure of what you’ve keyed in there’s a significant delay while your eye finds the right thing to look at. No other calculator behaves this way. You see the number you’re keying in until you hit = and then you get the result. (2) swiping the display one way erases the last digit entered. Swiping the other way takes you to conversions. Related actions for totally unrelated functions. Since there’s already a delete button, why duplicate in a confusing way. (3) Way to many presses to send conversion results back to the calculator while sending to conversion requires no presses. (4) Conversion icons are mostly obscure. (5) Family sharing “isn’t supported” but it took reaching out twice to get this answer. Developer is unresponsive to those of us who have purchased the “pro” version and hasn’t updated the app in 2 years. I’ll be looking for something else. I’d advise you to do the same..Version: 2.5.2

Charged me beforeCharging me again. Amazing.Version: 2.4.4

ScamSo looks like the developers have taken a feature that was free and decided to force users to upgrade to pro. The favourite and tape history was one the the best features allowing gradual calculations and saving them to continue at a later date. For example working out what’s left in your account following upcoming bills. I wouldn’t have minded if they put a limit on the number of favourites or tape history but to remove it all isn’t the right move! Obviously not a happy customer I i certainly won’t be paying to go pro, later I bet they introduce multiple levels for pro !.Version: 2.4.2

Don’t get this app or any app from Tapbots for that matter. This is yet another case of Tapbots using updates to nerf apps in order to make people pay several times for the same app and to screw free users. This app in particular had a history tape function that was included to everyone, it was the only reason I got this app. Now they updated it to remove that feature and put it behind a paywall. I’ve never been a fan of feature nerfs and much less of stealth nerfs posed as updates. Tapbots is notorious for nerfing and “dropping support” for it’s apps in order to make people pay again for “enhanced” and “rebuilt from scratch” apps that are just the same as their previous versions, just with a new coat of “paint” on top. Don’t bother trying to present an argument or complaint to the dev, as you’ll only get an arrogant response..Version: 2.4.2

No Support - Pro Features broken on WatchConvert and Tips not working on Watch. Refers to check iPhone app. No way in app to report issues. Contact Us option doesn't work. Calcbot twitter support is DOA for over a year. Very sad for an app that used to be the top of its class. Lowest possible rating until improvements are made to support..Version: 2.4.2

They got the simplest things wrongThe developers have taken things we already know how to do with physical calculators and decided to make them more complicated. Exhibit A: NO ‘CLEAR’ BUTTON - On physical calculators, everyone knows that if you want to clear the screen you simply press C. Once to clear the current number and twice to clear all numbers in an operation. On Calcbot, you have to hold the red backspace button and wait for it to vibrate. Tapping once won’t get you to zero unless your number only has 1 digit. I am always tapping twice, out of habit, only to find that I only shortened the current number by 2 digits. Exhibit B: CLUNKY CONVERSIONS - When you swipe right on the number, you can see unit conversions for various measurement types. This could’ve been handy if not for the fact you can’t input numbers from this screen. Changing numbers requies you to swipe left, type a new number, then swipe right again..Version: 2.4.4

Developers holding paying customers randsonI paid for this app once. I believe I also at some stage paid in app for more features. Now the developers think it’s ok to remove iCloud sync and tape history so they can sell it back to me with another purchase! Is this some sort of joke!?! Tapbots, you found a new low..Version: 2.4.2

Was good, but then...Used to use this app a lot because it had a bit nicer interface than the Apple version, but now the developer has updated it and restricted all but the most basic functions to the “Pro” version. This despite my buying the app at one point with full functionality included. I don’t mind paying a few bucks for a good app and to support good developers, even something as simple as a calculator, but for a developer to then take core functionality away years later and demand additional payment to restore that functionality should be criminal, or at least against Apple’s policies. I will certainly never purchase anything from this developer ever again, and would encourage others to do the same..Version: 2.4.2

Upgrade took away featuresWhat is the point of removing features in an update? Tape now requires Pro upgrade. If only there was a way to downgrade..Version: 2.4.2

Can’t believe you removed functionality to make me pay againI’ve been using and mostly digging Calcbot since you first launched it. It has always been my go to call on iPad from back when there weren’t any apple and few third party alternatives. I paid good money back then. I haven’t always approved of the changes but making the old app free and removing the history tape and other features to force a paid upgrade is a dirty move. I might switch to another paid app just to spite you..Version: 2.4.1

Difficult to use and not user friendly. This App is very difficult to use for unit conversion. I am an App developer and I cannot work out how to convert 5 inches to centimetres. Took a couple of mins to even find the conversion section. Now I have found that I can't find how to convert anything that is not the value 1..Version: 2.1.2

Potentially a great must have app, but big flaw on Apple Watch! This app potentially can be the best must have app on the Apple Watch, except for a major flaw that renders the pro version useless and not worth the upgrade: the label to switch between functions is place at the extreme too edge of the watch and attempts to click it result in the default apple watch pull down menu being chosen instead. It is extremely hard to switch between calculator and converter-almost impossible!.Version: 2.4.4

Done with Tapbots. Fan no more. For context, I have been a fan and supported Paul and Mark since 2009. I bought all their *bot apps. Over the years, I continued to support them by buying every new version of Tweetbots, which happened on a yearly basis at one point. I was okay with this given there was new functionality and features with every new iteration. For whatever reason they decided to go with a different approach with Calcbot. I purchased this when it came out and had access to its full feature set. Recently, I noticed most of the features were no longer available and locked out. I contacted support and they told me I needed to pay to access the upper tier features—features I previously had. That doesn’t seem right to me. I gave them every chance to make this right but they didn’t. Now I’m speaking out, hence, the reason for this review..Version: 2.4.3

Missing features now being chargedTape history was a very useful feature of this app. Finding out it was removed when trying to use it confused me. Finding out I now need to pay to use it, has put me off the app and the Company. For me it’s no better than the free app provided by Apple. Deleted this app from my toolkit. Back to using spreadsheets.Version: 2.4.2

Save your sanityI really wanted to love this calculator... I really did. I gave it more than a fair shot and it let me down. The interface is beautiful and functional however, that is where the positivity towards this app stops. Loading times are stupid... why does a calculator have a 15 second loading time... really!? Also, there seems to be no other way to clear a calculation other than holding down the backspace button for an indeterminate amount of time. Ok ok... I can totally understand the whole holding down the backspace button to clear... the problem is that the app gives you no indication that the calculation has actually been cleared until you lift your finger off the button. Do you need to hold the button for 2 seconds? 5 seconds? Who knows. This causes a situation where clearing works consistently only half of the time. I don’t know... this calculator could be so much BETTER but it’s almost like the developers only did half their jobs on this one. Maybe laziness? Maybe someone got fired during development? Who knows... all I know is you should save your money ok this one folks. Many other better calculator apps out there. Personally, Solve is my go-to calculator app. You should definitely check out that app and leave this one in the dust..Version: 2.4.4

Poor UIGiving 1 star for a Tapbot app breaks my heart. I have used a few of their apps for years but absolutely love Convertbot, it’s faultless. Obviously it is no longer being supported so I’ve taken a punt on this. As a calculator it’s as straightforward as you’d expect, but as a converter it’s shocking. It clearly has the power and the information required but the UI is awful. Not straight forward at all, and I now begin the search for something else..Version: 2.3.1

Making me pay again?Don’t bother with this app. They use updates to keep getting money out of you. The version I paid for is no longer available. I want a refund..Version: 2.4.4

ConversionsCannot get to the conversions. Wish I could figure out how to use this app. Maybe there is a user manual out there..Version: 2.4.4

Stopped working!! Now demanding moneyUseless now.Version: 2.5.2

A poor replacement for ConvertbotI LOVED Convertbot and used it frequently. It’s replacement by Calcbot is unfortunate because the UI in Calcbot is absolutely horrible compared to Convertbot. I use it, but every time I do, I’m left wondering what the devs were thinking as even after using it frequently I get frustrated swiping left to update the equation and right to see the result. Can we please have an option to choose a single screen for both conversions and entering values? This shouldn’t be a multi screen action..Version: 2.3.1

“Upgrade” reduced features to new paid versionAfter purchasing an app, it is reasonable to expect it would maintain the same features (ticker for history) instead of reducing them and asking for another purchase..Version: 2.4.4

ChangedUsed to love it. You have to pay to do anything and even though it’s really small I wish there was a little more functions you can do without paying..Version: 2.4.2

Absolute garbageI just bought the upgrade version costing $2.79 for my iPad Pro and none of the additional features are available. No setup options, no nothings. A complete waste..Version: 2.5.2

No more history tape feature in free versionHave been using Calcbot for years and loved it... until recently. they made the history tape feature only available with pro version. It’s too bad, it was a good app. Developers got greedy. Deleted it off my phone and installed one of the many another calc apps that offers this basic feature in the free version..Version: 2.4.2

RipoffI BOUGHT this calculator few years back. Now they have disabled some features and demand money for ‘pro’ version. What a ripoff!.Version: 2.4.2

Not enough currenciesNice app but nowhere near enough currencies to be useful..Version: 2.5.2

Don’t buy the pro upgrade for conversions on Apple WatchI paid for the upgrade so I could get full conversions, and customise conversions on the Apple Watch, but it won’t let me change the Watch conversions in iPhone settings. I change them, but it just stays as the default when I go back to the main screen of options. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling on the iPhone and Apple Watch - no joy. Won’t let me change the default options. Would be 5 star if that worked, but would give it no stars if I could without that working given that’s a key reason for paying for the IAP. Can’t even see a way to contact the developers to raise a query. Useless.....and very annoyed they have my cash as I rarely actually pay for apps..Version: 2.3

Crash FixedWorking again..Version: 2.4.4

Not installing since last versionSince the last version, I was unable to update. Even after multiple reboot and uninstalling calcbot 2 now I am unable to redownload-it!.Version: 2.5.2

DifficultNot very intuitive!.Version: 2.4.4

Suddenly putting old features behind a paywall..?I can understand a Pro version involving customisation options like skins and app icon changes, but *taking away* basic standard features (like the tape history)..? When video game developers attempt that sort of thing (removing existing base content and throwing it behind a paywall), there is an instant and endless negative response. This is not a wise move at all...Version: 2.4

Became useless after a long time of flawless operation.I’ve been using Calcbot for considerable amount of time. Purchased it before their was an option for pro. In the last year it has become painful to use. The problem is the delay when opening the app. It begins to pinwheel and freezes while it does I don’t know what. I’m usually going through quickly and when I have to wait 30 seconds about every other time I jump into the app before it’s usable, it becomes extremely frustrating. At times I just need a quick calculator, and Calcbot was my go to calculator. But it’s been such a pain and frustration that I had to leave a review. I don’t know what you guys did to a great simple and functioning app. But it’s broken, and a source of aggravation..Version: 2.3.1

Calcbot ConversionsI paid the upgrade price but I have no idea how to access the conversions. No instructions no idea..Version: 2.5.2

Sounds stopped working after last update. No sounds, no haptic feedback on iPhone 6s when using the calculator..Version: 2.2

Watch won’t workDoesn’t run on watch os5..Version: 2.3.1

Does not work on watchOS 5.Requires an upgrade to work on watchOS 5. A disappointment. 5 Stars if this gets fixed without further delay, 2 stars because it is not yet fixed..Version: 2.3.1

Complete rip-offDO NOT UPGRADE! I purchased to ‘Pro Upgrade” for $1.99. To my surprise the extra cost for the “Pro Upgrade” provided ABSOLUTELY NO EXTRA FEATURES! This app is a complete rip off and I strongly advise that you do not upgrade or use the app at all. Perhaps the developer will be kind enough to contact me and explain to me how to use the extra features that do not appear to be in the app. I feel completely cheated and ripped off. Once again I strongly advised not to pay for the pro upgrade because there are no extra features included for your extra cost..Version: 2.5.2

Don’t buy in appIf the developer’s update this app you lose that which you have purchased. The upgrade may be good but you pay for the first purchase again, not just the upgrade. The developer is unresponsive to feedback..Version: 2.4.2

It’s become uselessCalcbot used to be such a good unit converter and I had given it 5 stars before, but now it’s become useless since you have to buy it to actually convert units, its primary purpose. Why not make it a paid app outright? This free version is just not worth it. It’s no better than the built-in calculator, so there’s no need for for this app. Sad!.Version: 2.4.4

Design faultless (come on its Tapbots!) features lacking a few bits and bobs.Being British we use measurements of stones and pounds to measure our weight. Calcbot would be a 5* review from me if the app could convert lb and kg to st lb also. Vert still has the edge (just) over this app. They truly have gone to great lengths to cater for everyone with units of measurement and the like. Design wise it's great, but the swiping gesture isn't as intuitive as it could be and I don't like the fact that I have to swipe back when I want to change units of measurements (ie punch in a new number, or even change the number if I originally incorrectly entered it). Would be handy to have the numbers on the side of the conversion bit to quickly change units..Version: 2.0.1

Simple calculator needed.I want the option to have the number and %-+= x symbols large without any of the science elements present. I want a button so if I need the science element I can press a button and it pops in. As a result I don’t use his calc really. Sorry guys.Version: 2.3

Why won’t my currency convert work?I changed my currency setting to AUD-GBP however when I go and use it, it resets itself to USD-EUR. Can anyone tell me how to use this please?.Version: 2.3

Just keeps getting worse. It was bad enough when Tapbots decided to toss out all the beautiful designs they had for their apps in favor of the simple line drawn, childishly large numbered designs ( that just plain look horrible ) but now after using the app for years I do an update to Calcbot and now I can no longer use the Tape History feature without PURCHASING a premium for $1.99! Since I ten to trust developers not to screw users by removing function and holding them for ransom I didn’t fully read the update notes prior to doing the update so I don’t know if it was in them or not and I didn’t make a backup so I can’t revert back to the previous version so I have no option but to remove the app. To bad, Calcbot, Convertbot and Pastebot ( the last 2 not even available anymore ) used to be the GOLD STANDARD for app design and where the first apps I would show to friends to highlight how much better apps were on iPhones than other phones. Now I use Tapbots as an example of how bad app design has gotten over time, especially on the iPhone..Version: 2.4.2

Needs updateTheres a bug when the app first opens the height of the calculator keyboard is too high.Version: 2.4.4

BIG issueSince 15.3 update the history tape no longer works it doesn't remember. Clearing the total also doesn't work the total returns the next time your app is opened..Version: 2.5.2

GREAT...UNTIL IT WASN’TI have been using this app since it was first released on the iPhone over 8 years and I absolutely loved it. Paid the $1 right then and there and was worth every penny. Everything was great until they rolled out the Calcbot 2 and put the best features behind a pay wall. Unfortunately, my original purchase of the app was not translated over and I’m expected to pay for the features I already paid for, again. Terrible customer service and immediately uninstalled the app once they told me to kick sand. Thanks for the great 8 years, and no thanks for the future..Version: 2.4.2

LanguageWithout any reason it changed english to chinese version. And charging me 2.79$ forgeting that I have already paid for that app. Don't buy that app..Version: 2.4.4

Reducing functionality to force the “pro” version?I’ve never seen an app’s functions reduced to force its users to buy the “pro” version. Shameful. I’ve been using Calcbot 2 for years and it has suddenly lost some of its normal functions including “clear tape” and with any touch asks me to purchase the “pro” version. Offering “new” functions for a price is fine, but reducing functionality To force upgrades is just imply shameful..Version: 2.4.2

Money grabIn the newest upgrade various features have been removed to force upgrade to paid version. Classy move..Version: 2.4

Removed FeaturesTape function taken away during an update and now you have to pay for it.Version: 2.4.4

CalbotVery unintuitive, difficult to use!.Version: 2.4.4

It keeps crashingIt keeps crashing.Version: 2.4.4

Limited FunctionalityUsed the old Convertbot since it was first released and it was, hands down, the best converter APP across all platforms. I work across multiple technical disciplines (aviation, engineering, programming and finance) and travel extensively. Calcbot is a poor substitute for Convertbot. Forget the interface, I can deal with that, but even after purchasing the Pro version of Calcbot, it only has a fraction of the conversions available in Calcbot with no way to select new units as in Convertbot. Calcbot is but no more than average when compared to other converters and a serious disappointment to those who were used to Calcbot. I’d even be willing to pay a subscription fee if Calcbot were again made available. You guys had it nailed with Convertbot and took a giant step back with Calcbot..Version: 2.2

Charged me againI bought the app. Then they decided to change it and made me pay for it again or it would be work and now I got the new iPhone pro max and the current version ( I paid twice for ) won’t even work and I can’t use it AGAIN. Do better for frig sake. Stop making the ppl who pay you do without quality service and pay you again. It should just work. It should just cost one time only. I’ll find another calculator app to use!!!.Version: 2.4.3

Used to be goodLoved this app for the haptic feedback and the short history of calculations. An update has removed these functionalities unless I pay for pro...... back to the default calculator..Version: 2.4
