✓ 4 Stars Out Of 5 Ain't BadIMovie is mostly great, but there are a few things that would make it better: 1: Sometimes when I export a video, it removes some of the sounds and/or voice recordings. 2: You need to add a ton more sound effects. They were good for a little while but now they're lame. Here's a list of some sound effects you should add: Crash Sound Effects, More Different Comedy Whistle Sounds, Car Horn Sounds, Laugh Track Etc. 3: You should add voice effects. Stop Motion has voice effects. You should too! 4: Add an option to change the colour, lighting and shadows of your clips. 5: You should add more music. 6: You should be able to change the aspect ratio of your videos. I try to crop my clips all day and it never comes out right! (P.S., if you do add an aspect ratio option, cinema mode aspect ratio is a must!) 7: We gotta talk about those text options. Please add an option to stop the texts from getting bigger. Also, you need to change the fact that you can only add them to one clip. 8(Holy Crap, This Got Lengthy...):... I actually can't think of anything more to complain about (right now >:D) Improve these things, and I may give it 5 out of 5 stars... Until we meet again!:D.Version: 3.0.1
✓ LOVE ITI’ve been using this app for over 10 years and I absolutely love it. Anybody who dislikes it hasn’t discovered it’s many features. You can trim any part of a clip and do as you will with it, flip/rotate, zoom, change filter, adjust sound, add music, add pictures, add text, adjust speed and add multiple clips side by side. I just updated the app and I’m hoping the new features include zoom in and out that’s not manual so the movie flows smoothly and to be able to add text to anywhere on the screen and not just the preset areas..Version: 3.0.1
✓ I love the app but annoying thingThis is an amazing app and I love it for making videos to remember things and with my schleich horses but once I made one then I deleted the videos from my camera roll then it didt store on there which o thought it would and it was really annoying because when I delete photos and videos I also delete them from my recently deleted so I’m simple terms: I made a video, deleted the photos from recently deleted thinking I could still watch the video on iMovie, then realized I couldn’t and my best schleich video was gone. I would love it if when you delete the videos it still stores it on iMovie and you can still watch it without it saying missing videos as this made me very upset..Version: 2.2.9
✓ LOVE iMovie, but wish there is some changes I could doI love iMovie. It’s amazing and there’s so many creative things that you could do. I love the music love the credits and I just love the way everything looks, but there is a few complaints. This might not make sense but sometimes when I’m trying to pick a video I press down on the video and it doesn’t let me put it on the story board and that just annoys me. Second, I wish that we can make our own story boards because on iMovie, the storyboards are basically all I ever do. I wish we could pick our own music and do our own backgrounds, so we could be even more creative and do a whole intro about us. Third, just like somebody else said, I also wish the videos on the story boards wouldn’t save to our camera because it takes up so much space like somebody else said I don’t want to save the videos on my camera. But aside from all that, I love iMovie, and it makes me so creative and I love showing my videos to everybody. I don’t want iMovie to not be an app anymore because I love it, but these recommendations would help me so much and make iMovie even better than it was. Thank you so much..Version: 3.0.1
✓ Great app but...This editor does everything I need it too, which is marvellous. There’s only one VERY annoying thing that stops it being 5 stars for me. iMovie has to be open to export videos. If you get a phone call, FaceTime call, a ‘low battery’ warning, or simply just leave the app or lock your phone, it interrupts the process and you have to start over. ITS VERY FRUSTRATING. it’s not so much of an issue when the videos are very short, but I’m a youtuber and use this app frequently, and my videos take at least half an hour to export in 4K. So it can often take a couple of hours to export a video that should only take thirty minutes, because of accidental interruptions. If this app was updated so videos could be exported in the background, that would be fantastic and would be an easy 5 star!.Version: 2.2.8
✓ Good but needs improvingI love this app for basic video editing but i would love to see more complex editing tools so i can make my edits more impressive. I would also love it if it was exactly like the mac version of iMovie where you can add multiple layers of videos, pictures and music (sound). I would also like to see more better audio editing tools where you can change the audio waves to increase and decrease volume in multiple areas of the audio not just fade the sound in at beginning and the end. I would much appreciate it if my review can be taken into account and be solved in the next update as i am going to be making a professional video of a very special vacation and it would make the final video more special if i can have more flexibility with editing like you do on the mac version of imovie..Version: 2.2.6
✓ LOVE ITThis....is......the......best......editing......software.....I’ve....ever....use. Other editing apps make everything over complicated by making it look all “professional” or “easy”. Some apps make it so you can’t find anything and you have to enter all these strange unhelpful commands while others all you can do is plop the video in, put in a filter, and maybe add some random sounds. But this app is so good! You can do so much with it, it’s super easy, AND if you are willing to spice things up you can put it into pro mode where you can do even more! It’s even better because IT HAS A FRICKING UNDO BUTTON! It’s so helpful if you made a big mistake and you don’t want to have to do it all over again! It also has so many transitions that are so fun to play with along with the funny and awesome sound effects (my favorite it the time travel one) the only thing I have to complained about is that the default transition is fade and so I have to go through my entire video and put it to the standard one witch really annoys me I would also like a *BLEEP* sound effect because it’s so good for humor and if someone says...something... but other than that it’s so good and I don’t understand why it’s only rated 3.9 stars WHEN IT CLEARLY DESERVES A 4.5! soooo yea that’s all I have to say!.Version: 2.2.9

✓ BEST editing app but one suggestion...Ok so i LOVEE this app i use it to edit all my tumbling videos for instagram and its sooososososoo easy and it gives such a good product when finished editing and i definitely recommend to people. but i just have a suggestion; could you please add more transition effects because there aren’t many and most of them look the same :( so could you think about adding more different and unique transitions? such as: a twisting effect so like when you merge two photos/videos together they’ll like smoothly transition with a twist if that makes any sense? it will make the final product of the edit look so good..Version: 2.2.6
✓ Quietly brilliantI have used this app for a while for editing stop motion Lego videos. I have really enjoyed using this app. It maybe basic I don’t know, but what I do know is that it is simple to use and very straight forward it has a basic list of sound effects which can be used in the editing and sound effects can be shortened to make appear to be something else in the finished video. The music is more than I need. I like the editing suite, being able to move clips easily and shorten them as required. I like this app, it does everything I want it to, it makes movie making enjoyable and with the sound effects great fun. I would recommend it, it works great with iMotion and then saving stuff to google drive. Thanks for a great app.Version: 2.3.2
✓ Easy to use but lacking featuresVery easy to use but is lacking some key features: • The ability to create portrait videos, this is becoming an increasingly common way to consume video with TikTok, Instagram Reels, etc • Stabilisation would be great because although the built in optical stabilisation works well, sometimes extra stabilisation is needed when filming in bumpy situations like snowboarding, horse riding, off-roading etc • Change speed by percentage. I think the first speed change option is 1.25x which can be a little fast. Sometimes you’d want to only subtly speed up/slow down footage.Version: 3.0

✓ IPhone Version needs Ken Burns effect to work one videosI’ve used both the desktop version and the iPhone/iPad versions respectively of iMovie. I love the app, and think it’s wonderful! I’m an aspiring YouTuber, and like to use iMovie to edit my videos, and I really like using the Ken Burns feature on the videos I add to my projects. However, i can only do that on desktop and I have noticed that there is no Ken Burns feature available for the videos I edit on the iPhone version! ✓ Almost perfect, almost!So. It’s very rare that I leave a review on apps, but this one deserves it. I have been having an absolute blast with this, especially since I’ve really gotten into drone photography and it’s the perfect tool to make for video editing. My favorite feature honestly is making the movie trailers, it’s so fun with a compilation of media. The ONLY issue I have with it is that I’d love more freedom. Once you pick the general theme it predetermines what you can do. It boxes you into a certain amount of clips per section and has a variety of different kinds that you cant control whatsoever. So for example. One section in the trailer would have 3 slots for clips. The first one would be a .9 second, the next one would be a 3 second closeup (which is very annoying since it zooms way in on the picture or video and there’s nothing you can do to adjust it or stop it.) so if it’s a video it could focus in and cut out what you actually want to show in the clip which makes it impossible to use a lot of media. The third one could be 1.5 seconds. The fact that you can’t change the number of possible clips in a section and that you can’t change the duration of any of the clips is very frustrating. But beyond that this is an AMAZING app that I will love using for a long time, definitely worth having to be more strategic on what media I place where..Version: 2.2.9
✓ Amazing appHi I am a user of iMovie it is an amazing app because I can edit videos (that I just do to talk to myself) and not only that I actually figured out a way that can make me edit songs like I was gonna expect this to cost money for how good this is some times I like to use it just for fun to experiment it. Whoever created this is an amazing person like honestly. I am only 11 and I use this. But one thing I DONT like is that after a while your movie or trailers video and pics go to the iCloud and you then can access the certain iMovie!😡 it says ' downloading videos and photos some of your videos and photos have gone to the cloud would you like us to search for them' or something along those lines. ✓ UghhhOk, first things first. You said that when we updated it several previous problems would be fixed. They were not. I looked at the list and none of the issues were fixed. I was excited when I got to update iMovie with all of the new things but my expectations were not met. It gives you the choice of either keeping the text shadow or not. I thought it made the titles look horrible so I took it away. But after two hours, the text shadow always went back on. Next, I am having several other problems. I decided to use iMovie for a school project but it failed me. My dad was going over some things I should edit and I tried to adjust the time of the video so you could read the full thing, but the tool bar with actions, speed, volume, titles, and filters were not working. Three of the choices were grayed out and I was unable to change the accidental mistake. Also, when I got a new iPad, I was also unhappy. I had saved all of the iMovies, but when I got back on the app, all of my previously made movies disappeared. ✓ Good but...It’s really good and by far my most fav editor... but I hate how there isn’t a lot of features like on a pc like pc’s have heaps and heaps of features including putting an image IN the video but it makes you put the image as a part of the video not on the screen for a selected amount of time I find this editor really annoying too as I cannot undo mistakes that have been made in the past it just takes patience and ALOT of it at that but if your an expert then it should be easy for u....Version: 2.2.5
✓ Making Stop-Motions is DifficultWhen I got iMovie, I used it primarily for movies where all I needed was a way to piece the videos together. It was perfect! Then I decided to make a series using recordings from a game I play. Again, it was perfect. Now, I’m working on a stop-motion, and that’s proving challenging. The main reason: Split While I worked on the series, I got very fond of the “split” button where I could slide to where the audio recording ended but the video kept going, click split, and delete the excess video. Having that with pictures would be far better than sliding the side, which makes it very hard to line up audio with the pictures. The other two things are how ken burns is automatically added and the fact that the fade transition is placed between every picture. I would rather it start centered on the picture and remain still as well as having no transition. If these things were fixed, I would have no problems with iMovie.Version: 3.0

I was making a commercial for my fake toy store just for kicks and then my friend asked, “Are you using IMovie?” I had no clue what IMovie was. She said it was an app that you can make trailers and movies on it. The very next day I decided to try out IMovie, sense it was already on my IPad ( for some reason it came on my IPad.) I didn’t know how to work the app, so I just kind of left IMovie alone for awhile. A few days later, I was randomly at my friend’s house. We made a movie trailer on IMovie, but we did’t get to make the movie. That afternoon when I got home, I decided to give IMovie another try because I now understood how to work it after watching my friend use it. From then on, I kept on making trailers. I never do the movies, but I make SO many trailers. I make them with my friends, and my family. It’s so fun to make them and then show them to your family. This app is simply just ‘decent’. The app layout is legible and understandable. You don’t need much instructions to figure out all the knacks of the app. However, iMovie has no special aspects in turn. Personally, I like iMovie the best for making cringy movies of my own. ✓ Great, But Here is a SuggestionYes, iMovie is a great movie and trailer or film maker, you can make retro trailers/films/movies, romance, teens, family, fairy tale, swashbuckler, expedition, superhero, scary, coming of age, indie, Bollywood, adrenaline, and narrative movies films or trailers. I know, a lot of options 😅. But... There should be an option where you can change the music and where you can have the images and videos you took on iMovie only be stored in the movies on your app, not the gallery. It is a huge waste of space for your device, especially if you make lots of movies/trailers like me. I wish you could make the trailers longer than a minute, and can make it 1-4 minutes at least for trailers. When making a trailer, you can’t hear any talking or sounds just music. Maybe still keep the music, because that is still cool, but make there a setting where you can turn off music and can hear talking and sounds. Still a very great app I recommend, but I am just hoping for an update that will change that and further experience in the update. ✓ Good but needs moreFirst of all, I would just like to say this app is wonderful! It’s useful and a great time killer. There’s a variety of intriguing genres and its great to use when friends are over. In fact, the bigger the group, the better! I love the music and the setup. But, like I said, it has its limits. My first complaint is that it takes up way to much space in memory. In fact, every picture and video is saved in Photos, and if I delete them, the movie or trailer is basically ruined. I really don’t like that feature, and if you could just change it—like making the photos part of the app— that would be great. However, I understand if that’s not possible. Second thing, it would be wonderful if there were more leg room on trailers. Once you pick a theme, (action, adventure, romance, etc.) you’re limited in the amount of time, and it already has everything laid out, so you have to do it. Finally, sometimes it gets laggy, I suspect when I have too many things going on, and it’s kind of hard to use it. That really isn’t there fault though. ✓ ThemesDear Apple, Can you please bring back the CNN iReport Theme. I just wish it was still there. But sadly it’s not. Why did you have to get rid of it in the first place. Also can you add some other new themes like a documentary theme or a cinema theme. Now let’s be honest those are some really cool themes. In the documentary theme you could have stuff that you find in a documentary. In the cinema theme you could have camera size like widescreens and cinema screens and an old TV screen. ✓ Awesome!It’s a fun great easy-to-use tool to use for editing. Apple recently did an update and has added cool new features to IMovie. It’s amazing how much you can do with it for an app that is free for Apple users. You can now choose from different fonts and different colours which you haven’t been able to do before!!! I strongly recommend having this if you haven’t already installed it. It’s really straight forward to use and it works perfectly though sometimes it can crash but that’s very rare. I use this for all my editing and so far I haven’t had any problems! I really recommend you get this!!!.Version: 2.3
✓ ?????Ok so this is not an app I downloaded T-Mobile did it for me on my iPhone 12 which i got yesterday yay! ✓ It’s good but I’m sad nowI used to use this all the time but now I can’t and it’s more of my fault. I used to use this a lot but it took up a lot of storage, including the documents and data. I decided I was going to delete it and get it back so that the documents and data don’t take up so much storage. When I deleted it, I had 800 megabytes of storage left. The app is only 600 megabytes so I tried downloading it again. It said I don’t have enough storage when I do. Also I need the IOS 14 update? It says I can download an older version but according to my iPad, I don’t have enough storage. It is great for editing but now I wish I had not deleted it. But I still recommend this for people that want to edit videos. It’s pretty good, just don’t delete it if you like it and you want to free up storage. ✓ The best!!I’ve had this app forever and have always liked it. I didn’t use the music because there were about 5 songs to pick from. The new update, though, has SO MANY new songs and they are all so so good! This app is also great for editing precisely and adding filters to make your movie amazing. ✓ I am OBSESSED!I have been using this app since I was 6 years old and I FREAKIN LOVE IT!!! I especially love the new green/blue screen affect. I have made dozens and dozens of videos using this app. The only think that I would change is the trailer making part. I would like to add videos and clips into it that have sound and optionally hear the sound. I also would like to be able to add audio in the background. (Like in movie trailers when you hear the characters talking in the background) I also think that the green screen could be easier to use. It doesn’t work very well at all unless you have an actual green or blue screen which pretty much none of us are going to have. I also think that you should bring back the theatre. It saved me so much space because I could actually delete the videos and pics from my photos but the movie is still saved. And you might think that with these complaints I would do 4 or 3 stars but these are minor issues, there is nothing big, and I just love everything else so much I have to do 5 star. ✓ Great but I have a big problemI’m a youtuber my channel is NINJAZOMBIESLAYER I’ve been using this sense the start of my channel and my problems with it is that when I transport a video to my photos and then try to delete it from the imovies it takes a long time to delete I also am never able to delete some videos which forces me to delete and reinstall the app which I’ve done many times the reason this is a big problem is that if I can’t delete the vid from imovies and have the vid transferred to the photos is then I have a duplicated vid taking up lots of storage if I made a 30 min vid and transported it and can’t delete it from the imovies I then have 1 hour worth of video storage which is 5 to 10 GB which doesn’t only effect me but you the developers of this app because people like my sis who only have 5 GB will never be able to use this app which lowers the amount of downloads of your app and it effects us by taking up our storage which forces us to upgrade storage just for this app..Version: 2.2.9

✓ Great app, but some problems ...I have been using this app for 2 years , almost 3. Since I was a new editor, it was kinda new for me and it was a great start. ___________________________________________________________________ Until I started to realize stuff😶.... such as: to much storage or... some of it is downloading from iCloud. It was super annoying but the storage part was mostly my fault. My family had used it on computer which was better on iPad / phone . ✓ Good but needs many improvementsAs being an iMovie user for 3 years, I have learned this app in depth and love it but everything needs improvements. 1. Lack of transitions; Now transitions are a big thing in video editing so the intervals in between every clip is not basic and dull. iMovie lacks transitions and only has a few amateur transitions (fade, wipe, slide). There is only one viable transition to use for a specific theme and that’s the theme one where which ever theme you choose allows it to do its movement. 2. Lowers video quality; Let’s say you own a god canon camera which captures in 4K with HD audio and exported from your pc on 4K and transport it to your phone in 4K. When exporting audio or video clips, the resolution lowers by about 2 aspect ratios so this video we have made is in 720p60. Not the aspect you were expecting 3. Exporting and uploading clips longer than a minute takes forever This issue is a game killer. A 3 minute video would take 15 minutes to export and 10 to send to the internet hubs and server access network and uploads. Hope this helped you out to review your expectations. ✓ I’ve only seen 1080P results on an iPhone 8As far as I can tell, iMovie works great. I had to do some overlay stuff (PIP) which required me to look up instructions for that online, and I learned a lot about other more “advanced” features as well. Once, during many, many edits of a short video, it did seem to stop working, so I just restarted it. I’m looking forward to adding my own music next to see how that works. It’s super easy once you get the hang of it after searching specific online instructions. I mean, skip the basic feature instructions, they are already very straightforward and more or less intuitive. And what a bargain it is!👍 Meanwhile, those other video editing apps might not even have the some of the features you want, except maybe for an extra charge, and/or vampirize your wallet with regular subscription fees, charge $90 for a one time fee, and end up having you in fetal position shaking like a leaf in a corner somewhere wondering how you, at least temporarily, lost that full, unlocked app you already paid a much better price for that went to a $ubscription plan. If this app crashes on your phone or iPad, I don’t have anything supercalifragilistic to say about that. So far, I have no complaints in that department whatsoever..Version: 2.2.8
✓ Great but bad slo-moI use this app to edit videos of my gymnastics to put on Instagram. It’s an AMAZING app and I love it so much and it is basically the reason I have 1200 people watching my gymnastics! However there is one big draw back that might not effect to many people but it does effect me. The slo-mo. It’s very choppy and makes the video so much worse meaning I have to film my whole video in the slo-mo on my phone and then edit it meaning I run out of storage and battery really quickly and after filming each video I have to run inside and charge it for ages before I can film another video. ✓ Great app, although...I do truly think this app works very well, although I have come across a problem where I can’t edit, watch or export my project, I still have all the videos for it and this has been going on for about a week now. I’ve also tried a few different things to stop this, but none of them are working. The video is over an hour long, but I do have lots of space left on my device. Is there anyway to fix this problem? I also have a suggestion. It’d be cool to have the option to move your text around the screen to specific spots, instead of being entitled to the low right and left, along with the centre, which also doesn’t even apply to all types of text. Like how the filter looks like. E.G. You could add in more filters like ‘Cartoon mode’ or ‘Diary of a wimpy kid mode’ or ‘Japan animated mode’. Some thing like those. ✓ It’s amazing, but...Now that I’ve learned how to actually use it it’s easier. But two things that bugs me about the app are, 1. It seems to make my footage... brighter? As in, it changes the original look of the video and makes it more, fuzzy? Which makes my Gacha videos look very different from everyone else’s, and 2. It would be better if there was a button where you could select what you want to delete and it would instantly delete the ones you want instead of having to go through every project individually and deleting them like that, because I’ve got over 1000 projects and I don’t want to delete them individually as it will take a long time, but then it takes up a lot of storage. ✓ Amazing, but a few ideasSo I use this on my iPad all the time, and I’ve been using it for YEARS. I started off maybe 4 years ago, but I went off editing for a bit. Then after a year or two, I came back and have been doing it ever since. Over COVID-19 I’ve basically made hundreds of cooking programs, detective series and full-on shows, and go crazy with editing. For example, a split screen for a phone call here, a “voice” speedy sketch there, adding colour filters and theme music and Picture-in-Pictures GALORE... Totally recommend. But a few suggestions though - 1. I have two or three other editing apps, but I prefer to stick to one app so I would like it if you could have some photo editing filters, such as cartoon filter, water-colour filter, burnt sienna filter... hope it isn’t too much to ask. 2. Mix ‘n’ Match titles. You can add text to any iMovie, but really I would like to be able to make Focus font come up with Gravity, or vise versa. 3. (Last but not least) Longer (and wider selection) of transitions. But great for making up your own transitions! Hope this is useful 👍🏻.Version: 2.2.9

✓ OMG!!!THIS APP IS INCREDIBLE!!! It is a fun and easy app and I have been using it for ages and it does just what I want it to do. Especially because it is on an iPhone or any IOS. ✓ This is a good editing app but I’m having some issuesNow this is a great app, I really do love the capabilities of it. But I’m having some issues, like when I go to share a video, after I’ve done it, when I tap Messages or Messenger it will automatically just start exporting to my photos, or if I tap on a persons name that suggested to me, it will not allow me to share it. Now another thing is I am visually impaired, so I use this app because it’s very accessible, but I’m having another issue now this is not necessarily an issue with the app, I would just like to know how to use some of this stuff. ✓ Brilliant for beginners but a few flawsI enjoy making quick projects on my XR when not editing videos seriously, it can handle good fps and the tools are limited but useful. It will not tend to work on iPhone 6 (or equivalent macs) and under, and takes up a decent chunk of storage, so anyone with under 32gb might struggle. I have frequent issues with videos being ‘downloaded from iCloud’ when they are stored on my phone’s data. Also records from Xplane on my phone well. ✓ SOLID 4 STARS BECAUSE…This app deserves and solid four stars BECAUSE it’s a simple editing app and it’s free! Nor complex nothing cost money here which I literally love 😌. I have always used it. nothing got wrong until I used my OLD iPad. Now, this isn’t iMovies fault mostly mine but storage was really full so I couldn’t create stuff. But I do wish deleting your videos wouldn’t affect the videos on iMovies! I thought if you deleted it, you’d be able to still watch but no. I had to recover my vids/photos and let my storage fill up. My mom isn’t a big editor, so I helped her with her very first iMovie video which is really helping her today! (Now it’s not hard but if you’ve never edited before you’ll think it is 😂) I do wish there were effects to add to your videos because I get kinda bored with the filters. ✓ Alright..So, it is a great app. I use it for my editing.. But there is maybe two or three things that is bugging me. First, whenever I create a video on IOS, the screen shrinks. And I can’t do anything about it. Secondly, whenever I make a project for example gachaverse video, ofc I take pictures. There is definitely more than you expect. And every time I try to click on the next video to do all the keys and settings, It always pushes me back to the start OR it takes like 7 seconds to load. ✓ Fix some problems....Hey apple at the moment im working on a 12 minute movie and have spent months on it but sometimes for no reason it glitches and all the videos and music scatter all over the place and i have to re-fix it so can you plz fix that glitch and sometimes it gets very laggy. ✓ ⚠️DO NOT GET THIS APP⚠️I used to love iMovie. However, once I started to take editing seriously, the app failed me. I would work long and hard on editing a project and then the app would ERASE all my work. The part where it shows my videos is black. I cannot play the video nor edit it anymore. There was one time when I somehow managed to save the edits I made, but nine out of ten times I’ve lost my work. If I could give it zero stars I would. I’m warning people now, do not get this app. There are many times I have wanted to write a review about this app, and how it takes away all your hard work, but most recently I went on a trip, and took videos there and started to edit them. Just now, today, I was editing it, and the screen went black where it shows my video. I couldn’t save my edits and hard work. And I can’t retake those videos. ✓ Cool little pickleThis is the best free movie making app I have seen. I have been using the app for years and it works well except some minor issues. Whenever there a a new update my movies get deleted and sometimes they get deleted randomly! I’m really proud of the new green screen update it’s something I’ve been waiting for for ages however there are so many unused trailer templates that I think should be added into the app so that the green screen has a larger variety. Also can we add a few more editing features such as adding things like dinosaurs and stuff into the app. This could help with superhero films as you could add a laser eyes feature. ✓ Love this app!!This app is so good and useful, I first downloaded it for a school project and then kept on using it for other stuff. I would definitely recommend this app but the only reason I gave it 4 stars (I would give it 4.5 but that is not an option and I didn't give it five because I want people to read this and understand my views) is because when u open up the app and press add (+) it's not as easy as it should be to press movie/trailer and get started. ✓ IMovie update ideas.....Don’t get me wrong. I love IMovie. There are just some features that I want iMovie to have that could make the app better. 1. Able to use downloaded fonts I have heard that on laptop you can actually use downloaded fonts put on iPhone and iPad, not really. I want there to be an option like iMovie fonts and installed fonts. 2. Able to speed up the videos higher iMovie can speed up, but not that much tbh. My movies usually need very much speeding but in IMovie you can only speed up to 2 X. It would be delightful if we could speed up to 8X or 16X if possible. 3. Able to add strokes to the text and able to colour it. It would be cool to add the outline of a text and able to colour it, the words would really stand out more if that was possible 4. Able to add text many times per clip. What I mean by this is that in iMovie you can only add text once in every clip. So it would be helpful if we could be able to add many text at a time. ✓ Satisfactory. Behind on the times.I cannot think of any major changes to this app in the last several years. It works as a basic video editor, and it does that very well. Footage shot natively on your phone, easily made into a compilation clip, add some music, and easy export. However, for more technically minded people this may come across as too casual. The current iOS devices boast impressive hardware specs, sadly iMovie is an example of software holding them back. No support for PAL formats: 30p or 60p export only, regardless of if you shoot 25p or 50p. No metadata info: cannot examine bitrates and so on. Most frustratingly in my experience is editing the included music clips. No waveform support, and no way to select a specific portion of a song. Trimming a music clip will automatically defer to a shortened version of the clip - which means multiple seconds of silence if your timing isn’t exact. I hope future improvements and added features come soon..Version: 2.3.2
✓ AwesomeThis is literally the only editing app that I use and it’s free. I use it to edit almost all my stuff and I highly recommend it to other people trying to find an app to edit with. ✓ Not bad, but it’s missing something...I have used iMovie ever since I’ve had this iPad. It’s simple, easy to understand, and fun. But there are three thing I would like to see added to give a little bit more control. 1. More control over volume and sound design. Like having the the volume slider plus bass gain and distortion sliders so you can make an audio recording sound vintage, huge, or just plain silly. 2. More control over speed and pitch. The speed control slider is already intuitive, but instead of going to 2x speed, I think it should go up to 8x speed to match 1/8th speed. I would like for a separate pitch control slider because having pitch controlled by speed and vice versa is now feeling a bit limiting. 3. The addition of explosion, gunfire, and engine sound effects and the ability to use tracks from Apple Music. The explosion sound effects can just be regular old explosions, same as gunfire, but both should have a distant and close-up variant. The engine sound effect should be up that of a V8 with muffled and straight-piped variants. You should be able to chose starting rpm, ending rpm and load for each clip. For example, you would add the straight-piped V8 sound effect, choose a 3250 rpm start, a 6500 rpm end, full load. It should sound a lot like an LS, which is technically the most common American V8. Other than that, it’s a really fun app. So, I guess you could keep the controls simple, otherwise, it’s not really iMovie anymore..Version: 2.3.2
✓ Great but...Now, don’t get me wrong. I love making Gacha videos on this. It’s very useful and can be accessed without internet. But there’s two things that bug me a lot. 1. When a song is DM protected: I hate this because I accidentally put 2 of the same songs in my playlist and one of that song is DM protected and another isn’t! I would really like to put in some more songs that might actually fit the theme of my video. So, if you can, please try your best to fix this 2. Ken Burns, transitions and speed: When you do Ken Burns and Transitions, please please please make an option to turn all of them off and same with the transitions. It’s really tiring having to scroll through everything. And speed, why is it not available for IPad 😩😫!? Do you know how much better my gacha videos would be without having to stare at someone saying ‘Yes,’ or ‘No,’ for five incredibly long seconds. This problem is that in the movie section say your doing a school project and your recoding yourself and putting the videos into iMovie and you make a mistake while recording but you can’t be bothered to start from the beginning so you decide you will just put to videos into iMovie so it all seems great so far but you obviously don’t want the class to see that you make the mistake so you edit the transformation from one video to the other there are so many of them you’d think there’d be one that runs smooth that nobody notices the mistake well there isn’t which is a big bummer since the app is so great. ✓ Great app with ProblemsI really like this app although I think that there should be a settings option so you can make the pictures not move. If there is already one, I’m not aware of it, and a lot of other people don’t either. Please add this! I just want to say that the editing is amazing and that, but my saving has been glitchy. ✓ It's great but...This app is amazing for when I make my horse edits and just random edits. It has the features like zoom in/out, speed, add music, add different transitions and templates and many more but the one thing that really annoys me and makes me so upset is that if you make a movie and then delete them videos/pictures from your camera role, the ones you just used to make the edit, you are unable to see the edit anymore as it doesn't work. I'm so mad about this as I made and amazing edit a few months back but deleted some of the videos as I was running out of storage on my phone and when I wanted to see it again cuz I wanted to use it for something, it says I'm unable to and now i dont know what to do. It is a little bit glitchy when I split the clip because it goes to the start of the first clip, although I think that it is a great app to edit things and you have so many options to choose from. ✓ Annoying bugsI like IMovie and all, it’s overall a great editing app, but there are bugs that occur, especially with the audio, that is immensely frustrating. Sometimes, when an audio crosses over the ‘cut’ between two clips (and you adjust the volume), it may then not allow you to edit the next piece of clip or even adjust pieces of audio; sometimes it won’t even show you the video, so I exit and open it up again. It kinda starts to work again, but I notice that the audio have delayed (moved back) and some of the beginning of the clips that have been split ‘repeat’. So it kinda sounds like the audio of those clips repeat, making it sound glitched or as if I’m stuttering. This bug/glitch has been annoying me to the extent I feel like I wanted to abandon the video I was working on. One video I was editing took me so long, because when the bug occurred, I had to select EVERY piece of audio and move them back to their right places and it happened to me more for 4 or probably more times. ✓ BrilliantHey, I love this app. I’ve been using it for years, and it’s by far one of the best I’ve come across. This is mainly because of its simplicity, and being far less complicated than other editors. However, there are a couple of things. This isn’t always very good for making longer films, as it often crashes. I’ve managed to get around this by saving the video to photos, and then continuing on another project, but it is very frustrating, particularly when you really need to get a project done. Another this is the range of titles. I normally use another app for my titles as the iMovie titles just aren’t very good. ✓ Amazing for what it’s worthObviously iMovie is pretty limited. But for a completely free app with no adverts or in app purchases that comes preloaded on your device when first bought, it’s absolutely amazing. It only has a few basic tools, but the tools that it does have work really well. You can make some really amazing stuff very easily, and exporting is also very very easy and adaptable. My one problem is the titles- why can’t i change their position and size? If I want a caption of any kind it has to be white, it has to be directly in the middle of the clip, it has to be massive, and it has to be in all caps. I think an updating so you can scale and position text would be incredibly helpful..Version: 2.2.9
