Pocket Light Meter for Negative User Reviews

This is garbageAbsolute garbage.Version: 9.3.3

DecentVery handy and portable.Version: 9.3.3

Acces au photoJ'aimerais qu'il ai un endroit pour cocher si on veux qu'il est accès au photo oui ou non j'ai dis non a l'installation et je ne suis plus capable de modifier.Version: 9.0

Version on 2013/08/04Crashes on launching: iPod Touch 64GB 4G, iOS 6.1.3. Waiting for update to try again..Version: 8.3.1

Please take the ads offSeems to work well, but I just paid for the app to get rid of the ads and the ads are still there. Help please. I'll rate the app after I've more time to use it and if there's anyone reading this who will take the ads off..Version: 9.3.3

What a shame! (v7.0)I hope this update works as well as the previous version, which was excellent, but sadly I can't get passed the truly awful new interface. The 'Save' and 'Hold' buttons are far too big and all too easy to activate when adjusting the scroll wheels. The typeface used on these buttons is also very wrong for this type of app. My suggestion would be to move the 'Save, Hold, Settings and Camera buttons to a bar at the top of the screen and maybe make the scroll wheels a bit bigger. Please have a re-think as until then v6 was so much better. Note also that the screen shot in the App Store is of v6..Version: 7.0

Doesn't workCamera doesn't load in this app for me.Version: 9.3.3

Close but not quite thereGood idea but the execution is a little off. Compared it back to back with my sekonic digital meter and it is not quite accurate. Ev correction can help at the time but doesn't seem to stay consistent..Version: 0

Not accurate.I tested this meter against a real GE analog standalone meter, a Nikon N90s meter (known for its accuracy), a Nikon D5100 meter, and another competing meter app. Everything else agreed, more or less, and this app was always way out in left field. I wouldn't trust it if I were you..Version: 9.3.3

Lux meter NOT included!I've downloaded every free app that claims to be a simple light meter, I just want to compare two lamps in a bedroom. I don't know why they all use the Lux meter as the bait and switch carrot but they do. Once I was able to figure out how to access/enable the Lux meter via a UI that feels like it was designed by a kindergartner, this app too reveals that for the Lux meter, you need to upgrade to the pro version (and in this case it actually uses a physical accessory) One star for being deceiving..Version: 9.3.3

Only a spotmeterThis is really only a spot meter and isn't really any better than you likely have built in to your phone. If you're looking for an ambient light meter, you're going to have to look elsewhere. Also, I'm not really sure how accurate the white balance sensor is given the fact that the phone isn't exactly the best at white balance..Version: 9.3.3

Ok, not great. Was looking for a spotmeter app, noticed that this one has a marked area in the centre presumably to mark the metered area. However, app seems to take an average over the whole image area so I have no idea what the marked centre area is supposed to be for. This meter only locks in after the phone's camera has finished compensating for the scene, and is very slow to settle on an exposure reading after that. Adverts look horrible and are really distracting..Version: 9.0

Pocket light meterJ’ai téléchargé l’application, et il m’est impossible de la mettre en français. Alors comment faire?.Version: 9.0

OKThis is clearly a reflective light meter only, not incident, so you need to know what it is actually telling you and adjust accordingly. In camera metering tells you the same and is most probably better so why use this? The incident light meter is not replaced here (as the logo slightly suggests). A nice gadget that doesn't really help, I guess you can figure out your exposure options without dragging out the gear but that's about it. It's free..Version: 5.2

Doesn't workAs others have said, the app doesn't work as it doesn't access the camera correctly so can't sense light. (Even though you allow it access to the camera).Version: 9.3.3

Not accurate enoughMeter reading with the app aren’t as accurate as a camera meter or a spot/ incident meter. I only use this if I am desperate. Even using Sunny 16, adjusted to your environment after a few months of testing, is more accurate..Version: 9.5

Not bad but...When the main camera on the iPhone is used compared to the front facing secondary camera, it's 1/80 compared to 1/20 in exactly the same light (same aperture & ISO of course). Which one is correct?.Version: 7.0

Does what it says, but a bit rough.Should do more than just report the current iPhone exposure index, e.g. report meter readings from different parts of the frame using pixel data to support modes like spot, matrix, etc. Something like the Dynax 7 honeycomb meter would be awesome. Desperately needs a prominent compensation indication while metering so you don't forget that you left it on - I wasted a bunch of velvia tonight due to that issue. Compensation is reversed! +1 halves instead of doubles the reported required exposure and the effect is not shown in the preview image..Version: 0

WowGiven it's free, amazing help to this am dslr user.Version: 5.1

Was great, now rubbishThis was the best app I had and always used it with my manual cameras. The latest update has rendered it useless. First of all the 'save' and 'hold' buttons are in completely the wrong place and can be activated in error when setting up the 'asa' or 'speed' or 'aperture'. In addition, when 'saving' the information that one has set with a photograph in the 'camera roll' of the iPhone it crashes and doesn't actually save anything at all, the camera roll having no record of any settings. So, not only have the makers updated with an ill thought out design, but it doesn't even work. From brilliance to useless in one fell swoop. Get your act together and reinstate the previous version asap please..Version: 7.0

Annoying it wonVery irritating that it won't work on my iPhone 3G 16GB. I could buy 2 Sekonic pro meters for the price of one iPhone in NZ so I am not going to be replacing my phone any time soon. Please re-engineer!.Version: 5.1

Do not useThis app has links to websites that will try and force you to click thing... Apple should never of allowed this app...Version: 9.3.3

Latest update was big step backwardsI hate the wheels & the “use the old interface” setting is gone. No version number in settings or the in-app settings. Developer web site has exactly one sentence - no specs, FAQs, help, nothing. 2 stars because it does actually meter OK most of the time. No more than that because the UI is bad & the support is nonexistent. Deleted it & going back to my old Vivitar meter..Version: 9.5

RubbishDoesn't work at all.Version: 9.3.3

The upgrade is not as goodThe previous version was a lot better, I can even seem to lock the ISO or aperture,I'm happy to pay for the app but not just to remove the ads if the interface doesn't change.... Revert back to the better version please!.Version: 7.0

Still not working. No sign of update.I wish I'd noticed the developer's comment *before* downloading this app :-( I'm using 4.1 and when I try to start the app I get the black screen for about a minute before it exits back to the home screen. I tried restarting my phone (iPhone 4), but no joy - the app still fails to start. It's been a week since the developer made his comment, so maybe Apple are dragging their feet about authorising the update. Until I get a working version, I can only give this app a single star. I'll review again once I've got the update..Version: 0

Works but poor documentationJust not sure about the accuracy of this. It has a “spot” field which can be moved around. However the spot field isn’t documented anywhere that I can find (absolute size or accuracy). It differs somewhat from my spot meter and the discrepancy bother me. Only discovered support for 160 ASA by changing options (doesn’t default to showing 160)..Version: 9.5

Absolute rubbishScreen always said "too dark" but the myLightMeter free app worked brilliantly. This app is useless..Version: 9.3.3

Image won't appearThe image won't even appear. It simply says "too dark." I adjusted all the exposure settings thinking I had to set one of them near correct to kick in. It's a simple interface so it can't be that difficult. After 15 minutes of trying to get it to work, I deleted it. I'm on an iPhone 6 Plus..Version: 9.3.3

Doesn’t log wbAs a videographer, main reason I bought this was to measure white balance on location. The fact that it doesn’t record wb when you log is extremely disappointing..Version: 9.5
